  • 132 How to describe a map or plan

    24:38

    --~--
In Task 1 of the Academic Writing component of the IELTS exam, you may be asked to describe a map or plan. The diagram will be of a building, street, village, city or town plan that may ask you to contrast the past and present, or the present and future. There will also be a key that explains different locations on the map or a reference to roads and routes. You are expected to write a 150-word description of the information on the map, which will probably include buildings, routes or proposed changes for the future.

some girls get all done up
    hide their face & repair
    they attend every party
    but it's taking them nowhere
    some think its funny
    say they don't even care
    but on the inside
    they wish
    they were there

what has it come to know
we all wanna be like the rest
    cant describe just how
    but were all
    a beautiful mess

    one moment we're broken
    and then we're fine
    he called you back
    wait, wasn't he mine?

    one moment were broken
    and then were fine
    its all one puzzle
    in the teenage mind
    in the teenage mind

    some boys make the trouble
    and think theyre all it
    constantly in company
    or thrown to the ditch
    and some are just there
    to have a good time
    ignoring every bit of drama
    each little lie

what have we come to know
we all wanna be like the rest
    cant describe just how
but were all just a beautiful mess

    one moment were broken
    and then were fine
    he called you back
    wait wasnt he mind
    one moment were broken
    and then were fine
    its all one puzzle

    in the teenage mind
    in the teenage
    teenage
    mind
what have we come to now?
    can't describe just how
    one moment we're broken
    and then were fine
    they said hello
    but missed goodbye
    we are all insane inside
    and none can figure out

    Lyrics

Written in these walls are the stories that I can't explain
I leave my heart open but it stays right here empty for days
She told me in the morning
She don't feel the same about us in her bones
It seems to me that when I die
These words will be written on my stone
And I'll be gone, gone tonight
The ground beneath my feet is open wide
The way that I been holdin' on too tight
    With nothing in between
The story of my life, I take her home
I drive all night to keep her warm and time
Is frozen (the story of, the story of, the story of)
The story of my life, I give her hope
I spend her love until she's broke inside
The story of my life (the story of, the story of)
    Written on these walls are
The colors that I can't change
    Leave my heart open
But it stays right here in its cage
I know that in the morning now
I see us in the light upon a hill
Although I am broken, my heart is untamed, still
And I'll be gone, gone tonight
The fire beneath my feet is burning bright
The way that I've been holdin' on so tight
    With nothing in between
The story of my life, I'll take her home
I drive all night to keep her warm and time
Is frozen (the story of, the story of)
The story of my life, I give her hope
I spend her love until she's broke inside
The story of my life (the story of, the story of)
And I've been waiting for this time to come around
But, baby, running after you is like chasing the clouds
    The story of my life
    I take her home
    I drive all night
To keep her warm and time
    Is frozen
The story of my life, I give her hope (give her hope)
I spend her love until she's broken inside
The story of my life (the story of, the story of)
    The story of my life
The story of my life (the story of, the story of)

    Lyrics:

    [Verse 1 - Tomine Harket]:
    We're not in love
    We share no stories
    Just something in your eyes
    Don't be afraid
    The shadows know me
    Let's leave the world behind

    [Chorus]:
    Take me through the night
    Fall into the dark side
    We don't need the light
We'll live on the dark side
    I see it
    Let's feel it
While we're still young and fearless
    Let go of the light
Fall in to the dark side
Fall in to the dark side
    Give into the dark side
    Let go of the light
Fall in to the dark side

    [Verse 2 - Au/Ra]:
    Beneath the sky
    As black as diamonds
    We're running out of time
    Don't wait for truth
    To come and blind us
    Let's just believe their lies

    [Pre-chorus - Au/Ra]:
    Believe it, I see it
I know that you can feel
    No secrets worth keeping
So fool me like I'm dreaming

    [Chorus]:
    Take me through the night
Fall in to the dark side
    We don't need the light
We'll live on the dark side
    I see it
    Let's feel it
While we're still young and fearless
    Let go of the light
Fall in to the dark side
Fall in to the dark side
    Give into the dark side
    Let go of the light
Fall in to the dark side

    [Chorus]:
    Take me through the night
    Fall into the dark side
    We don't need the light
We'll live on the dark side
    I see it
    Let's feel it
While we're still young and fearless

  • How Do We Go On Singing? A Conversation with Melissa Errico & Phil Hall

    25:59

I sat down with NYC voice coach Phil Hall and asked him about the perils and pleasures of being a singer-whisperer. With a birds-eye view of the profession, Phil has seen so many singers come and go from his doorstep. (And back they are coming.) I asked him what are the most confounding songs—and styles—to teach, how much of what he does is musical, and how much is psychological. And what was the hardest job he ever had. Phil Hall is known as a man with a brilliant, even sensual, vocabulary as he describes music and singing. Who else can say your singing is “toasty”?

I hope you’ll enjoy our conversation.

  • Songwriting Example 40 - Written by Aaron Chaparian

    1:09

This song CANNOT be used for your personal project. It is created specifically for the artist/musician/vocalist that hired me to write it. This track cannot be downloaded and re-uploaded to your page, or anywhere else. If you would like a custom created song, please contact me at aaronchaparianrecordings@gmail.com. Thank you for listening!

    aaronchaparianrecordings@gmail.com

    About the songwriting service:

I write songs/instrumentals/beats for anybody in need of music. This mainly pertains to vocalists/singers who aren’t in bands, but still want to release music on iTunes, Spotify, BandCamp, or any other online music distributor. My songwriting could also work for those who want to release physical CD’s, and hope to form a band one day. This could also be a great way to showcase your vocal skills if you are searching for a full band to perform with and need to show potential band members your musical portfolio. This is perfect for anybody that currently can’t find reliable musicians, or can’t seem to find the right collaboration regarding the style of music they wish to create.

I can also write songs for anyone that needs music for their personal projects, such as background music for Instagram/Facebook videos, advertisements for your personal brand, or any other reason you would need custom music created. This could include full songs, short clips for specific videos, or any other ideas you have regarding a musical arrangement. I also have software that allows me to watch video while creating music. So any music can be made matching the content of the video.

    About the writing/workflow:

After we finish discussing your project, I will begin to write. During the writing phase, I will be sending clips and updates of the song so you can get a feel for the direction of the music. If you approve of the clips, I will continue writing. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with the music that I sent or have a different idea, I will then revise that clip until you fully enjoy it. We will continue this process until the song is fully created.

Ways to tell me the style of music needed:

Sending me videos or songs you want the music to sound like is the best way to show me the style/genre you need This could include YouTube videos, songs on iTunes from artists you enjoy, a guitar riff that you wrote a while ago but never used, a scene from a movie, etc. There’s no shame finding musical inspiration from unique sources, so if you have an idea, tell me! Past clients have frequently sent me a few songs from their favorite band, or in some cases send me 3 different bands and say “combine these styles.” Also, if you have a unique style in mind and have never heard it before, try to describe it as best as possible for me to understand. Written explanations can work just as well as showing me a song in some cases.

    What else is included:

All these songs also include mixing/mastering once the writing phase is finished. The final file you will receive will not only be fully written, but also mixed/mastered, and ready to uploaded to online music distributors or sent in to make physical CD’s. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Industry with a minor in Audio Production. I have interned for grammy-winning/nominated audio engineers/mixers Marc Urselli, Fran Cathcart, and Lou Holtzman. Aside from my home studio, I also do work out of Graphic Nature Audio, a studio that is home to grammy-nominated producer Will Putney, along with other producers/engineers Randy Leboeuf, Ryan Leitru, and Steve Seid. As much focus as I will put into writing your songs, I have spent years learning the craft to make them sound good also! If you have another audio engineer in mind for mixing/mastering, I can also create audio stems that are neatly organized and ready to be sent to your engineer.

Feel free to message me at any time regarding project ideas. We can also discuss availability and price. I’m frequently attentive to social media, so you can message me on any of my pages. All files will be sent through email, and I’ll give you my personal phone number once a project is started so we can easily communicate throughout the process.

    Thanks!

The Piano Trio is one of the most popular chamber ensembles in classical music. In this video I discuss how composers write for it and why it's difficult. Along the way, I look at one of my own compositions along with examples (with sheet music) from Telemann, JS & JC Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Ravel, Rachmaninoff, Schubert, Clara Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Andriessen, Morton Feldman, Gordon McPherson, Donnacha Dennehy, Jonathan Harvey, etc. I also describe my own writing process too, drawing on a great performance of my work by the Fidelio Trio.

  • For the Love of Music: Mersennes Pendulum Paradox Explained

    30:24

For the Love of Physics, Walter Lewin's magnificent lecture on Physics is known and enjoyed by many of you. If you haven't seen it, it is worth your time: Professor Lewin trusts his field of expertise so much that he is willing to put his own life at stake in the famous pendulum exercise. The 20 (?) kilo heavy bob indeed misses his head only on a few centimeters when closing its first full cycle. He's survived and that's thanks to his knowledge on Physics.
This 30 minute video has not the ambition of even coming close to the level of teaching and demonstration Lewin presented. But we do add a chapter to the pendulum story. One that takes the pendulum out of the world of Physics and enters it in the world of music. And more especially: in the world of tempo measurement. All of that started with the illustrious Marin Mersenne, who introduced in 1636 in his (still today) famous Harmonie Universelle, probably as the very first in history, the adjustable pendulum.
This video lecture will bring you back to the origins of tempo measurement, and at the same time to the origins of the WBMP, the Whole Beat Metronome Practice, where two metronome ticks instead of one define the note value of the metronome mark. You will see for yourself the connection between the metronome practice and the old Tactus, the Schlag, the Beat or Battuta.
And you'll get, probably as very first in our modern era the solution to the mysterious metrical second. Mersenne describes the full period of the second's pendulum as only 1 second and not 2 as it in reality is. That's been labeled often today by musicologists as a simply mistake. But that... it is not. It is one of the most fundamental principles of tempo measurements. You need at least two points to define a tempo. That 'metrical second' is heavily debated, as if it never existed. And thus, also in this video, as the very first probably, you get a selection of definitions of the metrical second in publications till deep in the 19th century , exactly describing the second's pendulum in the way Mersenne intended it (1 second left + 1 second right = 1 second).
The content of this story, the solution so to say, doesn't come from me, but from Lorenz Gadient, my partner in crime in writing the new Tempo Book that will see daylight in 2021.

    Thanks!

    About the songwriting service:

I write songs/instrumentals for anybody in need of music.

    1:12:25

This is a longish video on the hardware set-up, recording and production aspects of my online lectures for a course I taught earlier this year (see It is motivated by a number of people emailing me to ask how it is done. It is both harder and easier than it actually looks watching the lectures -- too long to properly describe by email but efficient enough that once you are practiced it's worth the effort (good overhead:benefit ratio).

One important thing I forgot to mention: You can't let the perfect be the enemy of the good when recording these things, otherwise nothing ever comes out. The same holds here, there are some little imperfections that weren't worth re-recording for (e.g., snagit appearing out of shot in Part 2, needing to 'fold' the monitor in Part 3), and I've left these as they are.

    Pointer to the parts...

    Part 1 -- Hardware: 4:40
    Part 2 -- Recording: 16:50
    Part 3 -- Production: 31:36

  • Eric Church, Stick That In Your Country Song Lyrics - 5 Burning Questions

    5:06

Eric Church puts the country music songwriting community on blast with the lyrics to his new song, Stick That in Your Country Song. In fact, the echoes of his message may go even beyond that.

    #EricChurch #StickThatInYourCountrySong #Lyrics

Church says the song was part of his month-long recording retreat in the mountains of North Carolina in January, but this isn't one he had a hand in writing. Per the Boot, Stick That in Your Country Song is just the second outside cut he's ever recorded, the other being Like Jesus Does, a song on his Chief album.

It's difficult to describe Stick That in Your Country Song as anything but an affront to the community, however.

Church, with rising indignation, calls for more real-life American issues to color verses and choruses of songs you hear on Top 40 radio. These issues aren't pretty: Poverty, gang violence and war are a few topics he mentions specifically.

C’mon, I wanna pound the dash / Stomp the gas, drive too fast / Rock me hard, stop my heart / And blow the speakers right out of this car, he hollers during a Jay Joyce arrangement reminiscent of That's Damn Rock & Roll from his The Outsiders album.

Call the song a challenge or a slap or an insult or a goal. This lead single from the album Church is working on falls in line with previous lead singles like Desperate Man, Mr. Misunderstood and The Outsiders. For a decade he's preferred to introduce an album with a statement instead of providing radio with assurance that more hits are coming. A Top 10 or Top 20 hit would be a win for his team here.

Interestingly, the 43-year-old says Stick That in Your Country Song was written pre-coronavirus and before the death of George Floyd. That it's become more salient is why he chose it to go first.

Eric Church, Stick That in Your Country Song Lyrics:
    (Jeffery Steele, Davis Naish)

Take me on up to Detroit city / Jails are full, the factories empty / Mamas crying, young boys dying / Under that red, white and blue still flying / Drop me off in Baltimore / Where every other window got a plywood board / Where dreams become drugs and guns / The only way out is to shoot or run

    Chorus:
Stick that in your country song / Take that one to number one / Get the whole world singing along / Stick that in your country song

Sing about the man coming back from war / Twenty-three going on 54 / He lost a friend, his sight, his hands / Baby girl, he'll never see again

    Repeat Chorus

Light the arrow, pull the bow / Shoot that fire right through my soul / Hit my pride, fist up high / I wanna feel a rush, I wanna feel alive / C’mon, I wanna pound the dash / Stomp the gas, drive too fast / Rock me hard, stop my heart / And blow the speakers right out of this car.

    Repeat Chorus

    Repeat Chorus

Gimme one about the teacher who’s trying to change a life or two / She'll be rocking out all night with you / Tomorrow she'll back in a red brick school / Where the kids are climbing off the walls and it's scary walking down the halls / She's underpaid, she’s overworked / Come on man, shout one out to her

    Repeat Chorus

    Repeat Chorus

There was a boy, a little boy
    A redheaded, little boy
And the boy had a dog, a big dog
    A big friendly, shaggy dog

    Chorus

They took a walk, a lazy, long walk
And saw a bird, a tiny, yellow bird
They sailed a boat, an old wooden boat
On a lake, a clear, blue lake
Beneath the sun, The warm morning sun

It was a day, an unforgettable day

    5:38

Brit R&B hero Craig David began the 00’s with a big blast of success. His ‘Born To Do It’ album shot out of nowhere, reaching the top of the UK charts thanks to infectious beats, strong writing and the bounding charisma of a 17-year-old artist. As he releases his seventh album, ‘The Time Is Now,’ we connected with him for a bit of reflection and a glance back at his history. Vevo’s Priya Minhas invites to the singer to share his thoughts on the emotional impact his music had on his both his audience and himself, and he explains how he continues to capture explosive moments while working with new creative new collaborators such as Bastille and Goldlink. Along the way you’ll see clips from from his 2001 Wembley Stadium show, Glastonbury and London 02 arena performances, and Ibiza Rocks residency. “If you define yourself by numbers and statistics, you’ll always be on the road to failure. But if you define yourself by great music and enjoyment of performing it, you’re always winning,” he says. It's inspiring to hear David describe how he has found himself again and continues to move forward.

  • RIFF WRITING Video Lesson - My Bad Seed acoustic guitar riff

    2:00

Polyphonic acoustic guitar riff from my song Bad Seed (NOT the Metallica song), from my album MANNERISMS MAGNIFIED

This is Part 1 of a THREE part acoustic guitar lesson on how I composed my acoustic riff to Bad Seed, and how YOU can play it, if you feel so inclined. (THANK YOU!) The approach I used to create this tricky passage is somewhat inspired by a writing style Steve Morse uses: Polyphonic riff writing. Polyphonic means two or more independent lines, or many melodies, and is a term often used to describe musical moments where more than one melodic line is happening at the same time. As it relates to riff writing, it's when pick-style single-note riffs are structured in a way that you hear two distinct parts in the riff (think bass and melody), because notes are being played in contrasting high/low registers and rhythms.

My Bad Seed riff began from a random bass line in 7/4 that I'd had sitting around for a while; I just thought it was cool, but never imagined it'd blossom into something special. This lesson (PART ONE) shows this bass line. To see the TAB/Notation and full-blown RIFF WRITING lesson text, go here:

The next lesson (PART TWO) will demonstrate the melody. RAWK ON!! Dale Turner

    Thanks!

  • Arturia Jupiter 8V Walkthrough Ep.3 - The Low Frequency Oscillator

In this episode I describe how the LFO is able to apply time-based, periodic modulation to various parameters in the synth.

    Discord:
    My website:
    Twitter:

The Roland Jupiter-8 was in production between 1981 and 1985, and was Roland's flagship product of the time. Its incredibly rich, deep tone and flexible modulation options made it a favourite of top-tier musicians, and to this day remains one of the most sought-after vintage synths in existence.

In this tutorial series we'll deconstruct Arturia's magnificent reconstruction of this classic synth.

    About me:

My name is Anthony Chisnall. I'm a musician & songwriter.

    My channel is these things:

    1. A place to share my songs - via various 'Back on Track' video series - in which you'll see each song idea evolve step-by-step, with me (hopefully!) improving my song-writing skills as we go.
    2. An outlet for me to discuss all things musical - including technical break-downs of software and tools that I use, as well as more wide-ranging discussions of topics that interest me.

I play the guitar (electric, acoustic, and bass), and record all of my own synth-based sounds myself too, but I can't sing very well (huge understatement!), and so my wife, Pauline, who has a lovely singing voice, has come to my rescue. You'll hear her on all of my songs.

All of my music is written in Steinberg's Cubase.

I try very hard to make my videos PRACTICAL and no-nonsense - if I don't use a feature, I'm not going to waste your time trying to sound like an expert on it! This is the stuff I use day-to-day, so I think that's also what you'd like to hear me talking about.

    Song Story:
This time I made a little step away from Trap, I wanted to try out something new. The plan was to create a crossover of Dubstep and Reggae, plus a mix of English and French lyrics. Many thanks on this point here to my friend Michael who nearly produced the most of the Hook so that I could focus on writing the lyrics (which wasn´t easy because I´m actually don´t speak french so I had to use an online translator) But it wouldn´t work perfect without a french native speaker, KS Tha Pharaoh changed and extend some sentences perfectly to a nice fluent final result. I got the idea of the lyrics one evening as I were just scrolling through my pictures and stopped on a photo where I shouldn´t stop. I don't think I need to describe that in more detail ;)
    That´s how Hanté was created.

    --
Irama Desa (The Rhythm of the Village) is an Indonesian song, taught to most primary school student in Indonesia. The song is actually a 'Seriosa' song, an Indonesian term for head voice singing technique.

The music composed by Iskandar (1920-1978), a musician and composer who composed hundreds of songs in many genres and styles, from pop, march, and hymns to 'Seriosa' and 'Kroncong' (Indonesian musical style adapted from Portuguese musical tradition).

The lyrics written by Mochtar Embut (1934-1973), the first Indonesian to lead a symphony orchestra at Budokan Hall Tokyo, who had written and composed hundreds of songs as well.

Both the music and the lyrics beautifully described the feeling to be in such a peaceful village, secluded and isolated between mountains. There are a some villages in Indonesia as describe by the song, that choose to live in isolated area to blend with the nature, continuing their ancestors' way of living, to protect their culture and traditions, most importantly the forest as their source of life.

“Styr på fyren” (Steer towards the Lighthouse/Beacon)
The story behind the song - an interview produced by the radio channel pTro

    - We are going to an island in Rogaland on the west coast of Norway. Anders Olsen grew up in a family of fishermen at Kvitsøy in Rogaland. He has now written a song about life at sea and about The Companion on the Journey of Life. Last weekend he released the song Styr på fyren – which is about when he was a teenager and went with his father out on the fishing boat. This is what he tells us:

    - When I was a teenager, I went fishing with my father out at sea. When we had finished for the day, he arranged the fish and gear we´d been using, and I was to steer ashore. I did not always see where to steer to get us into the harbor. Sometimes I asked him. Then he got up - he used snuff, so he spat the snuff - looked around, and said: Steer towards the Lighthouse. Just keep the bow at the Lighthouse. This is something that I have kept remembering, and now it has ended up with me writing this song.

-The lighthouse at Kvitsøy, that is a landmark?

-Yes, Kvitsøy is relatively flat, and the lighthouse is a landmark. We also happen to live right by the lighthouse, the lighthouse is our closest neighbor in Ydstebøhavn.

-This song also has a story about something that happened a November day in 1961. Your grandfather and your uncle were out at sea - but both did not make it back home. What happened?

-They were out fishing cod fish, when a wave hit the boat and it sank. My grandfather drowned that day, and my uncle got up on a reef and was rescued by some other fishermen who saw him.

-It was a serious and sad incident, you were a little boy back then?

    - I was not very old, but I remember very well when my uncle came home that day. He lives right next door. As a boy, I spent a lot of time fishing around the piers in Skjærastraen where I grew up, - while doing that I also fell into the sea a lot. I remember when my uncle came home all wet, I thought it was strange that he had fallen into the sea too. Then later we heard this sad story and the outcome of the boat that sank. This event has stayed with me througout my life, it was a sad day.

-In the song you also write about what we can describe as the Journey of Life. Someone is sitting in a sheltered harbor while singing about the lighthouse that flashes as clearly as Jesus' Name - and that we have a life on loan. Maybe it is you sitting on that bench?

    -Yes, it probably is.

    - This connection between the name of Jesus and the lighthouse – that is something that means something to you?

    - Yes, it is. It is probably the most famous Christian (Norwegian) hymn which says In the middle of the darkness of the night, Jesus´ name flashes like a beacon. This is something that has an extra strong meaning to us who live along the coast, and who have experienced that the sea gives - and the sea takes.

    - Styr på fyren is the name of this song that is now released on youtube and spotify. But Anders Olsen, you have released songs before as well, and started writing after you turned 60, isn´t that right?

    - Yes, that's right. I guess I´m pretty far out of my comfort zone doing this.

    - Perhaps there will be more songs to come?

    - Maybe, we´ll just have to see.

    - We will listen to the song, but before we do; you released the record last weekend. And it was at something called Mellematconsert. This is something you've been having at Kvitsøy lately? From what I´ve heard, you have a rich variety of musicians at Kvitsøy?

Yes, we have a wonderful variety of musicians and performers. Four years ago, we were a few guys who established something called Kvitsøy Lyd (Kvitsøy Sound). Part of Kvitsøy Lyd is Mellematconcerts which we have at the Lobster Museum on Saturday afternoons - two in the autumn and two in the spring. The concerts all together featuring a total of 20 different musicians/performers, two to three at each concert. The participants are a number of singers, vocal groups, choirs, various instruments and the island's orchestra– which has evolved into a great enthusiasm and a sense of community.

    - This is what Anders Olsen said about Mellematconcerts at Kvitsøy in Rogaland. Mellemat is an old expression for a meal at 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Anders Olsen released the record Styr på Fyren on the concert last weekend.

With him on the record is: Dag Sindre Vagle, Inge Engelsvold and Aina Økland Schøld.

  • Century Big Thief // cover by Jo + Tomás + Mariana

    3:20

Well this one was fast! This past week was full of creative energy. Lots of playing and singing, dancing, new amazing music releases from incredible artists... A very good week. Tomás and I had been thinking of covering Century for a few days and so he came over to see what we could make of it. And since all three of us have a big love for Big Thief's work, Mariana ended up helping out too :) It was quite spontaneous too, the way we mixed and isolated melodies and instruments (yeah, it's a shoe box), so there isn't much added after the recording, only a lil' guitar improv by Tomás. It's a raw piece of fun, I'd say.
I hope you enjoy this session with Tomás and Mariana, two of the most amazing people I know and I'm so happy to have them as my dear friends.
Big Thief is a band that has something special going on... None of us can describe it, it's all about feeling. So go give them a listen, if you haven't already:

Not much writing coming out today, so I'll leave you with this :)

See you next time, support the artists you love!

  • Doug Allen - Choose Love

    5:01

What started out as a catchy riff on guitar turned into a co-write between me, PJ Pacifico and Scarlett Lewis (Founder of the Choose Love Foundation).

Backstory on the song: I kept playing the main guitar part over and over again last February… but didn’t have a story to go with it, so I brought it to my friend PJ around the time of the winter olympics, and he said “it sounds anthemic and big” like these winter games …. let’s write it about something BIG. Enter Scarlett Lewis….

Right after meeting with PJ I ran into a high school friend who told me about Scarlett’s foundation and the building of the Where Angels Play playgrounds… I knew right then what this song was going to be about. I went to the ribbon cutting ceremony of the West Beach Playground and was so moved by the hundreds of Fire fighters, State Troopers, moms, dads and Senators all working together, that (with the help of PJ’s melody), came home and finished the tune in about 20 minutes…

Interestingly enough, after opening for Kevin Bacon’s band The Bacon Brothers last summer and meeting those guys, we were able to meet up with their bass player Paul Guzzone in the studio in Nashville while they were on tour there. So Paul is on bass and Rich Herring from The Little River Band is playing the acoustic guitars. Both great guys.

The songs is framed around many of the phrases that Scarlett uses to describe her Foundation so we decided to call it a co write between the three of us, me, PJ, and Scarlett. I hope you like it. I know we loved writing it and love performing it ...and will gladly perform it anywhere.

Thanks for all the kind words from all the folks who have responded to us about the song so far… God bless.

    Thanks!
