Check out my Grand Funk Railroad cover of I'm your Captain/Closer to Home:

    Rock on!

    Lyrics:
Out on the road for forty days
Last night in Little Rock, put me in a haze
Sweet, sweet Connie was doin' her act
She had the whole show and that's a natural fact

Up all night with Freddie King
I got to tell you, poker's his thing
Booze and ladies, keep me right
As long as we can make it to the show tonight

    We're an American band
    We're an American band
    We're comin' to your town
We'll help you party it down
    We're an American band

    Four young chiquitas in Omaha
Waitin' for the band to return from the show
A feelin' good, feelin' right and it's Saturday night
The hotel detective, he was outta sight

Now these fine ladies, they had a plan
They was out to meet the boys in the band
They said, Come on dudes, let's get it on!
And we proceeded to tear that hotel down

    We're an American band
    We're an American band
    We're comin' to your town

fans with his considerable skills for a number of years now.
He has been playing & recording in several high-class bands, among them Whitesnake, Dio,

    ing band.

MARCO MENDOZA - Marco Mendoza is a well-known face around the rock music circuit.

Were an American Band - Grand Funk Railroad - HQ Audio )))

    3:31

We're an American Band (from the album of the same name) became Grand Funk Railroad's first No. 1 singlereleased July 2, 1973. Written by Don Brewer and produced by Todd Rundgren, its huge chart success broadened Grand Funk's appeal. It was sung by drummer Don Brewer who began doing more lead vocals for the band and helped with their transition to making top 40 hits.Brewer's lyrics are somewhat autobiographical, detailing the band's recent tour and their energetic live performances. In the song, Brewer mentions playing poker with blues great Freddie King, traveling through Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as stopping to party with four groupies who snuck into their hotel in Omaha, Nebraska. The lyrics also mention sweet sweet Connie, in reference to the legendary groupie.

We're an American Band is the seventh studio album by American hard rock band Grand Funk Railroad, credited as Grand Funk. The album was released by Capitol Records on July 15, 1973 (see 1973 in music) and was certified gold by the RIAA a little over a month after its release. Two singles were released from the album. The first single, We're an American Band, was released on July 2, 1973 and the second, Walk Like a Man, was released on October 29, 1973. Both singles were sung by drummer Don Brewer. There is an addition to the band on this release - Craig Frost - who plays the organ, clavinet and Moog. Craig was credited as an additional musician on Phoenix which was released the previous year.

The album cover was originally covered in gold-colored foil on the outside, and the initial run of pressings were pressed in clear, dark yellow vinyl. The album has been reissued many times and is currently available in the Compact Disc format. A Quadraphonic mix of the album was available in the Quadraphonic 8-Track cartridge format.

The album is #200 of the National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) Definitive 200 albums of all time.
Upon the album's release, We're an American Band became the band's best received album by critics, so far. Robert Christgau gave the album a B-, his highest rating for a Grand Funk Railroad album at the time (although Shinin' On (1974) and Grand Funk Hits (1976) would receive a B and B+, respectively).
A modern review of the album by William Ruhlmann for Allmusic stated that the album was a departure from the band's usual material, which was mostly due to Todd Rundgren's production and Don Brewer's increase in lead vocal work. Ruhlmann also said that the album sounded more professional than their previous ones

GRAND FUNK Were an American Band remastered audio

    4:02

We're An American Band is the seventh studio album by American hard rock band Grand Funk Railroad, credited as Grand Funk. The album was released by Capitol Records on July 15, 1973 (see 1973 in music) and was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America a little over a month after its release.[1] Two singles were released from the album. The first single, We're an American Band, was released on July 2, 1973 and the second, Walk Like a Man, was released on October 29, 1973.[2]

The album cover was originally covered in gold-colored foil on the outside, and the initial run of pressings were pressed in clear, dark-yellow vinyl. The album has been reissued many times and is currently available in the Compact Disc format. A Quadraphonic mix of the album was available in the Quadraphonic 8-Track cartridge format.

We're an American Band was the group's first collaboration with producer/engineer Todd Rundgren. Rundgren and the band recorded the album at Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida on June 13--15, 1973. Rundgren would go on to produce the band's next album, Shinin' On, before the band switched to Jimmy Lenner.

The album's original issue, as well as of the We're an American Band single, was on translucent yellow vinyl, symbolic of a Gold record. The album labels, above the side numbers, instructed listeners to play at full volume. It included four stickers (two blue, and two red) with the Grand Funk Pointing Finger logo. Emphasizing the shortening of the group's name, largely for legal reasons, the word Railroad does not appear anywhere on the album sleeve, liner, or vinyl record.

Were An American Band - Grand Funk Railroad Expert Rock Band 3 DLC

    3:42

    AOGH

Pretty alright week I guess. This is the first week in a long while where more than half of the songs get pro upgrades! But that's not much considering there's only four songs...

The GFR songs are the hardest on guitar but that's not saying much. They're okay I guess. We're An American Band was kind of fun in the solo but I'm not sure how it holds up to the GH5 track which I'm pretty sure imported in WoR, but I'm too lazy to make those kinds of videos nowadays haha

the Loco-motion is probably going to be an oh THAT song moment for a lot of people. Weirdly enough, JUST last night I was watching the Cosby Show and Vanessa, one of the daughters, and her friends signed up for like this music video thing where they dance to public domain pictures while singing (and if they win they get to be signed to a record label, it's ultimately never revealed whether or not they won, but chances are they didn't) and they did that song. Was it a sign? I was like lolwat

The J Geils Band and Joy Division songs are probably going to be a mixed bag for a lot of people up but I liked them. Freeze Frame seemed cool on keys and they didn't chart the horns! *cough*guitar hero*cough* Seems like it'll be your run of the mill acoustic pro chart though, luckily bass looks somewhat busy.

As for Joy Division, I've been wanting Love Will Tear Us Apart for a while now, but I was sadface they didn't do a mocap for the singer! But then again I wouldn't have expected them to in the first place. Oh Ian Curtis.

Also reminds me that we need Evil by Interpol up in this shiiit.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy, I'll probably have the pro charts up later in the day
