I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of SoHo in the rain
He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fook's
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein

    Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
    Ah-hoo, werewolves of London

If you hear him howling around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
    Werewolves of London again

    Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
    Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
    Ah-hoo, hey

He's the hairy handed gent who ran amuck in Kent
Lately, he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out, Jim
Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor

    Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
    Ah-hoo, werewolves of London

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with the Queen
    Doing the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney, Jr. walking with the Queen, uh
    Doing the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's
    And his hair was perfect

    Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
    Huh, draw blood
    Ah-hoo, werewolves of London

Tonight's the night, let's drive downtown
The kids are out can't you hear the sound
They wanna rock all night and day
But the price is steep, can they afford to pay
The devil's game is a danger zone
You better not play it alone

    I wanna Rock and Roll
    I got an Evil Soul

Tonight's the night but the end is near
The kids are out and they're full of fear
The clock is tickin' and the stage is set
So let's deal the cards and hope they take the bet

14 White Wedding (Billy Idol cover)

White Wedding is a song by Billy Idol that appeared on his album Billy Idol (1982).
Although the Big 80's: Episode I of VH1's Pop-up Video trivia show claims Idol wrote the song to voice his displeasure with his sister's fiance (who impregnated her before marrying her), this has turned out not to be the case.
On an episode of VH1 Storytellers, Idol claims that there was never any family resentment towards his sister, and that the song was simply heightened fantasy and nothing more.

It is often considered his most successful song, although other Idol songs charted higher.
It reached #36 on the Billboard Hot 100 on its original release, and reached #6 in the UK upon its release there in 1985.

    Other versions and appearances

The song has been covered by many bands including Australian 80's Revival band John West Experience and other bands including Murderdolls, Ten Masked Men, Ardor (of Tanzwut), Deathstars, Doro, Rowland S. Howard on his album Teenage Snuff Film, Sentenced, Aiden, The Way of All Flesh. Kayvon Zand, Whip, The House Jacks, and the band Queens of the Stone Age on their 2007 album Era Vulgaris as a B-Side.
Additionally, the ska band Umbrella Bed covered it on their album King Size. Serbian punk rock band KBO! recorded a version on their 2001 cover album (Ne) Menjajte Stanicu ((Do Not) Change The Station).
Post-hardcore band Aiden recorded a version of White Wedding for Kerrang!s cover CD High Voltage!: A Brief History of Rock and on their EP Rain In Hell. Part of it is included in Franz Ferdinand's cover of Gwen Stefani's What You Waiting For?.
The song has also been covered by Nightmare of the Elf.
Also, the gothic rock/steampunk band Abney Park recorded a cover on their 2005 album Taxidermy.
The band Radio Cult released a cover of the song on their album Mix Tape in 2006.

White Wedding was featured on the fictional radio station K-DST in the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
It has been featured in the 1998 film, The Wedding Singer, the TV series, My Name Is Earl and the British TV series, Blackpool (TV serial).
It was also sung by Eva Avila, in the 2006 Canadian Idol show 80's Hits and by Toby Rand on the finale of the television show Rockstar: Supernova. It was also featured in the skate video CKY.

The line, It's a nice day to start again, was featured on the sticker on the front of Billy's 2005 comeback album, Devil's Playground.

The song was remixed as (Trashcan Jack vs Billy Idol) Club Wedding (Frenetic) under Digital Dog's Jack Rokka guise.
It has appeared on numerous dance compilations such as Wild Bassline (CD02 Mixed by Brooklyn Bounce) and Clubland 12.

The song is included in the video games Rock Band 2, Rock Band Unplugged, Guitar Hero Van Halen and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The Web site features a literal video version of this song, with parody lyrics describing the actual events taking place in the video.

    Mastered At – Masterwork Recording

Rock Lobster is a song written by Fred Schneider and Ricky Wilson, two members of The B-52's.
It was produced in two versions, one by DB Records released in April 1978, and a longer version, which was part of the band's 1979 self-titled debut album, released by Warner Bros.
The song became one of their signature tunes and it helped launch the band's success.

Rock Lobster was the band's first single to appear on the Billboard Hot 100, where it reached No. 56. A major hit in Canada, the single went all the way to No. 1 in the RPM national singles chart. Its follow-up was Private Idaho, in October 1980, which reached No. 74 in the US.
Rock Lobster was well received by critics and was placed at No. 147 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

    Composition and themes

The DB Records single version lasts 4:37 and faster and more raw than the 1979 Warner single version.
It has, however, almost the same lyrics of the second version, just including some extra lines in the listing of marine animals.
The 1979 single version itself is an edit from the album version released in 1979, which lasts about seven minutes and contains an extra verse.

According to a Behind the Vinyl video with Fred Schneider for CHBM-FM, it was mostly inspired by a discothèque in Atlanta called 2001, where instead of having a light show, had a slide show with pictures of puppies, babies, and lobsters on a grill.

Its lyrics include nonsensical lines about a beach party and excited rants about real or imagined marine animals (There goes a dogfish, chased by a catfish, in flew a sea robin, watch out for that piranha, there goes a narwhal, here comes a bikini whale!), accompanied by absurd, fictional noises attributed to them (provided by Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson — Pierson providing the higher-pitched noises and Wilson the lower-pitched ones); the chorus consists of the words Rock Lobster! repeated over and over on top of a keyboard line.

Rock Lobster is written in the key of C minor (with a raised fourth in the chorus) and is in common time. Instruments used in the music include a baritone-tuned surf-style Mosrite electric guitar, a Farfisa Combo Compact organ, and drums. Kate Pierson played the song's bass line on a Korg SB-100 Synth Bass synthesizer.

    In popular culture

In spring 1980, John Lennon, whose post-Beatles music career had been on hiatus for nearly 5 years while he helped raise his son Sean, was prompted to record again after hearing Rock Lobster; according to Lennon, it sounds just like Ono's music, so I said to meself, 'It's time to get out the old axe and wake the wife up!'
His return to the studio led to the release of Double Fantasy.
At a 2002 B-52's concert in New York, Yoko Ono joined them onstage for the performance of this song.

The song appears in the Family Guy episodes The Cleveland–Loretta Quagmire (where Peter plays it on guitar) and Screams of Silence: The Story of Brenda Q (as Iraq Lobster), and in the 2008 movie The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie (as Rock Monster).

Early Commodore Amiga 500 units had B52/ROCK LOBSTER etched on the main circuit board.

The song is playable in the video games Just Dance 4 and Rock Band 3.

Panic! at the Disco sampled the song's guitar riff for their song Don't Threaten Me with a Good Time on their fifth studio album Death of a Bachelor (2016).
