    LYRICS:

The other day I passed the place
    You always liked to go
And I picked up the phone because
I thought you'd want to know
But I forgot you weren't there
I miss you all these days
That I'm reminded of your smile
And the funny things you'd say

I miss you most at Christmas
You were like a little kid
You always loved a good surprise
    And now I must admit
That I long more for heaven
    Than I ever did before
You give me one more reason
And each day I want it more

Knowing we can spend a lifetime

    Reminiscing on the past
Knowing I will see your face again
    Where tender moment last
It makes me wanna be there
    Knowing I won't be alone
Knowing you'll be there makes it easy to go home

You left a group of fishermen
    Somehow you left me too
And though I've felt you many times
And know you saw me through
I've always long to feel your arms
    And look into your eyes
And talk forever me and you
    Somewhere in paradise

What's going on my fellow rock n' rollers. Don't forget to hit the bell notification icon to be notified every time i put out a new video on m channel. Perhaps one of the most exciting things about the band Oasis, was that the always seemed to be on the verge of breaking up. Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher had a pretty volatile relationship to say the least. In fact, It’s amazing the band lasted as long as it did. And today let’s take at the event’s that led to the band’s messy breakup in 2009.
For almost two decades Oasis would dominate the rock scene and become one of the most volatile bands in the genre. Led by brothers Liam and Noel gallagher, the band’s origins dated back to the early 90’s. The group would sell over 70 million records, have eight number one albums in the UK and sell out arenas and stadiums around the world.
Since their inception in the early 90’s the Gallagher brothers have pretty much been at each other’s throats. The band almost broke with the release of their first album, 1994’s Definitely Maybe. During a showcase gig at the Whisky A Go Go, Noel nearly quit the band according to the Supersonic documentary after Liam started to insult the other band members and threw a tambourine at his brother. Upset, Noel bolted for a few days, but ended up coming back to the band leading to the song Talk Tonight being written.
Fast forward a year later and NME magazine did an interview with the Gallagher brothers that would be released as a single. It was called the Wibbling Rivalry, The interview was notable because it featured a violent argument between the brothers over an incident that happened months earlier when the band was arrested on a ferry in the Netherlands following a violent brawl.

As Oasis turned their attention to recording their sophomore record (What’s The Story) Morning Glory in Wales, the brothers once again got violent with each other. During the recording, Liam brought back a group of people he met at a bar back to the studio while his brother was working. Annoyed, Noel reportedly hit his brother over the head with a cricket bat. That bat would be later sold at auction with a letter of authenticity after it was saved by the album’s producer.
As Oasis hit the road to support the album, tensions once again failed to disappear as Liam was a no show at the band’s first gig in the states. Not only that, but Liam backed out of the band’s taping of MTV unplugged complaining about a sore throat. His brother Noel would take over vocal duties that night. But Liam would still be present, but he wouldn't be on stage, instead hurling insults at his brother from the balcony. Reports grew that the band were going to split, but they opted to continue touring. I’ve done a whole video on their volatile tour with the Screaming Trees during this time. The link is down below!
A relative period of calm would happen for the next four years and it wasn’t until 2000 when things flared up once again. A gig in Spain would be cancelled following drummer Alan White injuring his arm. With nothing to do, the band got plastered and Liam questioned his borther and whether his daughter was actually his and not another mans. A scuffle would ensue and Noel left the band and Oasis continued their European tour without their guitarist.
Fast forward to 2005, Oasis was set to play the Heineken Jammin Festival in Italy. During the band’s set, Liam abrutply left the stage during Champagne Supernova. During an interview that Noel gave to Spin Magazine around this time he said some pretty disparaging things about his brother revealing
“I’ve kind of learnt that instead of arguing stuff out with him and ending up in a fight, I work on his psychology and he’s completely freaked out by me now, He’s actually frightened to death of me” he'd say.

2008-2009 should have been a time for the band to celebrate. They would release their final album 2008’s Dig Out Your Soul. The album was Oasis best reviewed record since the one two punch of 1994’s Definitely maybe and 1995’s What’s the Story Morning Glory. It was also the highest charting LP of the last decade for the group and the tour to support the album was also a massive financial success.
Despite all these accomplishments, relationship between Liam and Noel hit an all-time low. The brothers weren’t eve

    To order in the USA:

Throughout the 1970s Nektar released a series of acclaimed albums, scoring chart success in Germany (where the British band was based) and later in the USA (where the band relocated). following the passing of original guitarist / vocalist roye albrighton in 2016, fellow founder members Derek “mo” Moore (bass, vocals), Ron Howden (drums, vocals) and Mick Brockett (lyrics, visual concepts) reunited, along with Randy Dembo (bass, 12-string guitar), Ryche Chlanda (guitar, vocals) and Kendall Scott (keyboards) to record

Chlanda originally recorded with Nektar in 1978, and for ‘The Other Side’, the band updated some of those ideas which evolved in the basement of Moore’s house in New Jersey with Ron Howden. the 1978 unrecorded song ‘Skypilot’ has evolved into ‘Skywriter’ in 2019. ‘I’m on fire’ is the musical adaptation of a poem written by Mo for his soon-to-be wife, Nicki, during that same time period.

The closing track, ‘Devils Door’, was originally performed live in 1974, but never featured on a Nektar album. Updated and recorded for this album, the song features the presence of the late Roye Albrighton on the introduction to the track, whose wonderful guitar part was taken from a live soundboard recording made in 1974.

Kendall Scott’s distinctive and versatile keyboard presence has enhanced this considerably, while Randy Dembo, who originally joined Nektar in 2004, brings the sound together with 12-string and bass guitars, rounding out the instrumental arrangements. Ron Howden has been a continual driving force of the band, weathering all versions of Nektar since its conception in 1969. with Mick Brockett now back in the fold (with his visual concepts and ideas as an essential part of the band making the music and light theatre a reality). ‘The Other Side’ is a stunning album from a legendary band

I cite my sources and they may differ than other people's accounts, so I don't guarantee the actual accuracy of my videos.

Mazzy Star was responsible for the early 90’s sleeper hit Fade Into You. Featuring David Roback, who wrote most of the band’s music, he was a talented multi-instrumentalist. He was joined by singer Hope Sandoval who wrote most of the band’s lyrics, the breathy vocalist with a haunting yet hopeful voice.

Their hit track was released on the band’s 1993 sophomore album “So Tonight That I Might See.” There was something pure about the band’s sound and their recording process. In a 2020 interview with Refinery 29, Sandoval said:

I like to hang out in restaurants and cafés, eavesdrop on people's conversations and collect new stories. Then I go home and spend the evenings embellishing them.

Part of the band’s magic came from the soulmate-like connection between Roback and Sandoval. In a 2018 interview with Double J, Sandoval said that and i quote:
Half the time we don’t even really need to speak to each other, we use telepathy. The pair was rumored to briefly be a couple around the time of recording their debut album, “She Hangs Brightly.”

The song Fade Into You became an anthem for lovelorn teenagers in the 90’s & Hollywood loved it too. The song was licensed to more than 30 movies and television shows & had artists like Ben Harper, Kelly Clarkson and Dinosaur Jr have all covered the song.

But before Roback became a musician he found himself in New York in the late 70’s wanting to become a painter telling the LA Times in 1990 “I went to New York mainly to be part of the art scene,”“But I gradually found myself getting more inspired by what was happening in music than in art. . . . People like Patti Smith and Television. I felt like a punk. That's the attitude I Iidentifid with, but when I picked up the guitar and started playing it, the music didn’t come out sounding punk. It was something else. . . ..” After brief stint in new york he would head back to Los Angeles.

Roback and Sandoval both started off in other bands before coming together to start Mazzy Star.

Roback went to UC Berkeley and started his band with his brother Steven called Unconscious with Susanna Hoffs, who would later be known for co-founding The Bangles. The two brothers started their next band, Rain Parade, in 1982, and they gained popularity in the L.A. indie scene.

The soft spoken Sandoval came from East LA where her parents worked in factory and she was the youngest of ten children. She would form the group Going Home while she was still in high school with frien d Sylvia Gomez in the early 80’s. Both women were big fans of Rain Parade, & they decided to make a bold move to get on their radar.

After a 1983 Rain Parade concert, Gomez snuck backstage to give David Roback a demo tape. At the time, Roback was under contract with Rough Trade records and Going Home was still unsigned, but doing gigs around LA. Upon hearing the demo, Roback offered to produce Going Home’s first album and play guitar on the record, but even to this day it has yet to be released.. It was also around this time that Roback left Rain Parade and Los Angeles and retreated to Berkley not feeling a connection to the LA music scene.

Roback briefly joined a musical collective called Rainy Day, and then went on to form his third band Clay Allison later renamed themselves Opal. He would later be joined by vocalist Kendra Smith & together they released 1987’s Happy Nightmare Baby, but she departed the band during their tour with the group The Jesus and Mary Chain.

Roback was mid way through a two record deal with Rough Trade, so Sandoval took over Smith’s place on vocals.

Dave and Hope toured as Opal for two years, and worked on the planned second album for Rough Trade called Ghost Highway, but they ended up scrapping the material. Sandoval was unhappy with the quality of music that the pair came up with and wanted to start fresh, so they formed a new group called Mazzy Star and headed to Hyde Studios ,where they recorded 7 new tracks..

These tracks became the basis for Mazzy Star’s debut record,, 1990’s She Hangs Brightly. The album landed them a spot on Billboard’s alternative songs charts, with their cover of the Slapp H

    Which path shall I take?
    I wonder... not yet. ×2
    I'm fed up.
Just a bad dream? Confused in my dizziness.
    Waste of time. ×2

The same merry-go-round every three seconds
    LALALA LALALA
How far are we going? Hey×3

    Ally? Enemy?
Just go fight the fights you want to win.
    Wo wo wo wo
If I can, I’ll greet the next world as someone different.

Love, its embrace, its fervor, or
    Whatever you want.
It’s not important what you call it.
All ideals smothered with a joke.
If this is a dream just wake me, won’t you?
    But love’s embrace, its fervor—
I can’t express myself like that.
With words true and false, shall I bet my feelings? Shall I?
Like this, so vexing, my life.

    Pride, met face to face.
    I wonder... not yet. ×2
    I'm fed up.
    Nothing remains, you know?
    Waste of time. ×2

Every five seconds, glances slip past one other
    LALALA LALALA
No matter how far we go, Hey ×3

    Ally? Enemy?
    Destroy all my worthless traits.
    Wo wo wo wo
If it’s granted, I’ll greet the new world as someone different.

Love, its embrace, its fervor, or
    Whatever you want.
It’s not important what it’s called.
All ideals smothered with a joke.
If this is a dream just wake me, won’t you?
    But love’s embrace, its fervor—
I can’t express myself like that.
With words true and false, shall I bet my feelings? Shall I?
Like this, so vexing, my life.

I don’t want to see you
    just waiting.
I don’t have to be something special.
    Spring is gone. ×2
    You know, how about it?
    Wo wo wo wo
Bring a smile to the coming world!

Love, its embrace, its fervor, or
    Whatever you want.
It’s not important what you call it.
All ideals, smothered with a joke.
    (Don't say you love me.)
    But love’s embrace, its fervor—
I can’t express myself like that.
With words true and false, shall I bet my feelings? Shall I?
Like this, so vexing, my life.

    Lyrics

It’s the pulse of the dark you feel
It’s the beat that fills your heart for real
Evil eyes and hungry mouth, the screams around so loud
Savor the moment, seize the night, enjoy the sound

Oh - turn it louder now, crank the power now
    Let it all go
Oh – raise the level now, to eleven now
Let it all show – go

It’s our dream, to be your nightmare now
It’s what we do, corrupt the purest soul
We make you shiver, make you sweat, scream out that you’re alive
Initiation night’s tonight, accept the rite

Oh - turn it louder now, crank the power now
    Let it all go
Oh – raise the level now, to eleven now
Let it all show - go

    Now you feel alive
    Take a chance for once
    Scream the pain away
    Never be the same

on Tigers Jaw Prison Jazz Records 2009

    lyrics:
    your Cell
    I'm missing all my friends
    Losing touch
    Maybe I love you
    You're too much
    Will I see you again?
    Yeah probably not
    I'm serious
    Raise confidence

Hoping growing confidence is gonna make you stay
Well every time you talk I love everything you say
Everything we try to start there's something in the way
    I'll pass it off

Well it cost dollars to write this song
For gas money and a ride home
    Well I thought it through
    And i'm better now
    Such a long time
    Step down

Knowing that you're so close only hangs me up again
Suffice to say the price I pay won't matter in the end
This is something I can't even talk about with friends
    I'll pass it off

    I'm never gonna wait
    When the sun comes up
Well I can never worry about you enough
    Everything I say is obvious
    I'm nothing good
    I'm death to us

Well I get caught up in these routines
    The time I get home
    The way I sing
    And these songs I write
    They aren't me
    I'm terrible
    I'm in between

  • Morphine Live The Other Side 1990 Boston RARE

    4:23

    Super rare video
    second song!
Morphine was an American alternative rock group formed by Mark Sandman and Dana Colley in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1989. They disbanded in 1999 after frontman Sandman died of a heart attack while performing onstage.
Morphine combined blues and jazz elements with more traditional rock arrangements, giving the band a very unusual sound. Sandman's distinctive singing was described as a deep, laid-back croon[1] and his songwriting featured a prominent beat influence. When asked by reporters to describe their music, the band created the label low rock. One critical appraisal suggests that Morphine immediately established a minimalist, low-end sound that could have easily become a gimmick: a 'power trio' not built around the sound of an electric guitar. Instead, with sly intelligence, Morphine expanded its offbeat vocabulary on each album.[2]
Although Morphine was critically lauded throughout their career, it is difficult to measure their success commercially. In the United States the band was embraced and promoted by the indie rock community, including public and college radio stations and MTV's 120 Minutes (which the band once guest-hosted), but received little support from commercial rock radio and other music television programs. This limited their mainstream exposure and success in their home country, while internationally they enjoyed mainstream success and support, especially in Belgium, Portugal, France and Australia.

    The other Side-lyrics
    (Sandman / Colley)
    Going down to the river
    There's a man I wanna see
    Yea he's the ferryman
    He'll recognize me
I'm going down now to the riverside
    There's a place I wanna be
I'm going to talk to the ferryman
    He'll be expecting me
I'm crossing over now to the other side
Life is better there on the other side
The grass is greener there on the other side
And I I get even there on the other side
And everything will turn out all right
    On the other side
I'm crossing over now to the other side
    The other side
I walked by the church house late last night
Yea I walked by the church house but I didn't go inside
Cause I I once slept with the preacher's wife
She handed me a ticket to the other side
I'm crossing over now to the other side
    To the other side

    LYRICS:

    Loving God, loving each other
    making music with my friends
    Loving God, loving each other
    and the story never ends

They pushed back from the table to listen to His words
His secret plans before He had to go
It's not complicated; don't need a lot of rules
This is all you need to know

It's loving God, loving each other
    making music with my friends
    Loving God, loving each other
    and the story never ends

we tend to make it harder build steeples out of stone
fill books with explanations of the way
but if we stop and listen and break a little bread
we would hear the master say

  • The Other Band - Hudson Valley NY

    5:01

The Other Band enjoyed a successful career from 1987-2001. We became one of the most sought-after bar bands in the Hudson Valley. After receiving radio airplay and accolades from the press for our 1990 studio release. We played relentlessly in venues large and small, with some personnel changes, until we disbanded in early 2001. In the summer of 2011, after more than 10 years apart, The Other Band reunited with original members James Ratner, Rob Friedland, and Dave Mucci. We enlisted Sax player Greg Fiske to round out the new line up. And so... we are back! Thanks for your interest and stay tuned!

What sets The Other Band apart from so many other groups is they have 3 lead singers in the band. So they have a wide variety of sounds and you don't listen to just one lead singer the whole night.... Tara L. - Mt. Kisco

We hired The Other Band to play at our wedding reception and they rocked! But they also knew when to take the tempo up or down according to the reception. The special songs were flawless! They made our special day even more memorable. Blair and Corbett - Goldens Bridge.

    Like a Song

    I am like a song
You wish you had never heard
    You let it in
Now it's stuck inside your head

    I'm like the house
You wish you had never built
    You burn it down
The only thing left now is guilt

But I'm not the one to blame for all that we've been through
Whenever things went wrong I couldn't turn to you
I'm not the one you need to ask if it is true
That every time you said you love me I couldn't say me too

    I am like the dream
You wish you had never dreamt
    You go to sleep
And it's right there inside your bed

    I'm like the ground
Keeping you on your two feet
    You let it crack
    Now your world is incomplete

But I'm not the one to blame for all that we've been through
Whenever things went wrong I couldn't turn to you
I'm not the one you need to ask if it is true
That every time you said you love me I couldn't say me too

  • Derina Harvey Band - The Last Saskatchewan Pirate

    4:49

Please enjoy our version of The Arrogant Worms' The Last Saskatchewan Pirate.

    THE LAST SASKATCHEWAN PIRATE

I used to be a farmer and I made a living fine
I had a little stretch of land along the C.P. Line
But times went by, and though I tried, the money wasn't there
And bankers came and took my land, and told me fair is fair.

I looked for every kind of job, the answer always no
Hire you now, they'd always laugh, we just let twenty go!
The government, they promised me a measly little sum
But I've got too much pride to end up just another bum

Then I thought, who gives a damn if all the jobs are gone,
I'm gonna be a pirate on the river Saskatchewan.

    'Cause it's a heave-ho, high-ho, coming down the Plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
    And it's a ho-hey, high-hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores

Well, you'd think the local farmers would know that I'm at large
But just the other day I found an unprotected barge
I snuck up right behind them and they were none the wiser
I rammed their ship and sank it, and I stole their fertilizer.

A bridge outside of Moose Jaw spans a mighty river
Farmers cross in so much fear their stomachs are a-quiver
'Cause they know that Tractor Jack is hidin' in the bay,
I'll jump the bridge and knock 'em cold and sail off with their hay.

    'Cause it's a heave-ho, high-ho, coming down the Plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
    And it's a ho-hey, high-hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores

Well, Mountie Bob, he chased me, he was always at my throat
He followed on the shoreline, 'cause he didn't own a boat,
But cutbacks were a-coming, so the Mountie lost his job
So now he's sailing with me and we call him Salty Bob.

A swinging sword, a skull-and-bones, and pleasant company,
I never pay my income tax and screw the G.S.T. (Screw it!)
Sailin' down the Saskatoon, the terror of the sea
If you wanna reach the Co-op, boy, you gotta get by me!

    'Cause it's a heave-ho, high-ho, coming down the Plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
    And it's a ho-hey, high-hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores

Well pirate life's appealing but you don't just find it here
I hear in north Alberta there's a band of buccaneers
They roam the Athabasca from Smith to Fort McKay
And you're gonna lose your Stetson if you have to pass their way

Well, winter is a-coming and a chill is in the breeze
My pirate days are over once the river starts to freeze
I'll be back in springtime, but now I have to go
I hear there's lots of plundering down in New Mexico.

    'Cause it's a heave-ho, high-ho, coming down the Plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
    And it's a ho-hey, high-hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores

    'Cause it's a heave-ho, high-ho, coming down the Plains
Stealing wheat and barley and all the other grains
    And it's a ho-hey, high-hey, farmers bar your doors
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores
When you see the Jolly Roger on Regina's mighty shores
    ________________________________________

Led by their fearless front-woman Derina Harvey, this five-piece Celtic-rock group offers a fresh take on traditional tunes and intersperse that offering with their own original jigs and reels. Their infectious rhythmic undertow is layered with rock guitar, dizzying fiddle motifs, and topped by Derina’s powerful voice. These transplanted east-coasters have earned a reputation with their high-energy live show, leaving many an audience out-of-breath and hollering from the dance floor!

The band has proven to be a crowd-pleaser wherever they go. Though the band is based in Alberta, 2015 has seen the group travel across the country, with three trips to Newfoundland to their credit where they have entertained crowds at theatres, festivals, and pubs. They have been featured twice on the main stage of George Street Festival in St. John's, once opening for NL favourites Shanneyganock. Most recently, they have shared the stage with other east-coast favourites such as Jimmy Rankin, The Irish Descendents, Pogey, and even some rock acts including The Trews, Kim Mitchell, and Trooper.

The band continues to build on a growing fan base by promoting their self-titled debut album (released in 2013). The record has garnered radio airplay in multiple regions in Canada (CKUA in Edmonton; K-Rock and Radio Newfoundland in St. John's, NL; CBC, Canada-wide). Their second album entitled Rove and Go (released May, 2016) has already gotten airplay on over 30 community and college radio stations across Canada.

    LYRICS:

We're as different as night and day
We're the same in different ways
And it's true, just look at me and you

We can change the way we are
The power lives inside our hearts
We can be anything we wanna be

If coal can turn to diamonds
And sand can turn to pearls
If a worm can turn into a butterfly
Then love can turn the world
Oh, love can turn the world

The God who made you made us all
Big and little, short and tall
And that's fine 'cause it takes all kinds

If He had made us all alike
It sure would be boring life
But He knew what little time could do

If coal can turn to diamonds
And sand can turn to pearls
If a worm can turn into a butterfly
Then love can turn the world
Oh, love can turn the world

If coal can turn to diamonds
And sand can turn to pearls
If a worm can turn into a butterfly
Then love can turn the world

    Everybody sing it

If coal can turn to diamonds
And sand can turn to pearls
If a worm can turn into a butterfly
Then love can turn the world
    Oh, love can turn

    Coal into diamonds
    And sand into pearls
If a worm can turn into a butterfly
Then love can turn the world
Oh, love can turn the world

  • Dave Matthews Band - Big Eyed Fish

Dave Matthews Band - Busted Stuff(2002): Big Eyed Fish - Track 10
    -----
    Big Eyed Fish Lyrics
    -----
Look at this big eyed fish swimming in the sea
Oh how it dreams he wants to be a bird, swoopin', divin' through the breeze
so one day, caught a big old wave up on to the beach, now he's dead you see,
Beneath the sea is where a fish should be

But oh god under the weight of life
Things seem brighter on the other side

You see this crazy man decided not to breathe
He turned red, then blue, purple, colorful indeed
No matter how his friends begged and pleaded
    The man would not concede
And now he's dead, you see, the silly man should know you got to breathe

    But oh God,
    Under the weight of life
Things seem brighter on the other side
    Oh god
But under the weight of life
Things seem so much better on the other side
No way, no way, no way out of here

See the little monkey, sittin' up in his monkey tree
One day, decided to climb down and run off to the city
Look at him now, lost and tired, living in the street
As good as dead, you see, you are a monkey thus stay up the tree

    But oh God,
    Under the weight of life
Things seem brighter on the other side
    Oh god
But under the weight of life
Things seem so much better on the other side
No way, no way, no way, no way out of here

    But oh God,
    Under the weight of life
Things seem brighter on the other side
    Oh god
But under the weight of life
Things seem so much better on the other side
No way, no way, no way out of here

    But oh God,
    Under the weight of life
Things seem brighter on the other side
    But oh God,
But under the weight of life
Things seem brighter on the other side
No way, no way, no way......
