    EVERYTHING IS WRONG
    (Hellgren/Myhr)
    Published by Merrysongs

    The earth was never round
    A penny is a pound
And there’s no road that leads to Rome

    The birds could never fly
And life begins when you die
    You’d be surprised to find

    Everything is wrong
Everything is far from what it seems to be
Think it over once again you’ll see
    That everything is wrong
Every lie is on display for us to see
Everything but you and me is wrong
    (Everything is wrong)

    The rainbow’s black and white
    It’s never day or night
And there’s an end to outer space

Big Ben is out of time
    And Shakespeare could not rhyme
    You’d be surprised to find

    Everything is wrong
Everything is far from what it seems to be
Think it over once again you’ll see
    That everything is wrong
Every lie is on display for us to see
Everything but you and me is wrong
    (Everything is wrong)

    Everything is wrong
Everything is far from what it seems to be
Think it over once again you’ll see
    That everything is wrong
Every lie is on display for us to see
Everything but you and me is wrong
    (Everything is wrong)

(Your life begins the day you die)
(The seven seas were always dry)
(You’ll be surprised to find that)
Everything but you and me is wrong
(God never listens when you pray)
(And Rome was built in just one day)
(You’ll be surprised to find that)
Everything but you and me is wrong

It wasn't unheard of for groups to record under different names for different labels in the early days. #ShannonFour was no exception to this. This time they are under the name of #TheMerrymakers. Here's a tune from them by #IrvingBerlin, released in 1927. Yes, this is the same song that #WillieNelson would have a version of 50 something years later.. This is the “A” side to “Mine”, and it was released on #Brunswick 3441. If you enjoy what I'm uploading, why don't you take a minute and click on the “subscribe” button? Thanks and God bless ya! I'm just one guy trying to keep the memory of old time music alive. This really isn't “in demand,” and it hasn't been for years, but I also know there are people like me who love to learn about historical things, including music, and that's what my channel is here for.

I appreciate the music publishers for allowing these little heard gems to stay on my channel. I'm not trying to make money here or step on anybody's toes with copyright infringement. If there's ever a problem with anything I upload, I will be more than happy to take it down. I'm a collector who has amassed close to 50,000 songs on my computer, and I like to share things that are not heard too often. I imagine the majority of what I post isn't even on CD or any other digital format. I have taken time to digitally restore these from the original records; you might hear a stray click or pop here and there, but for the most part, these sound really good. If a recording is a bit below par, please rest assured I have done the best I can do with it-you can't always get them perfect. You can eliminate more noise in many cases, but it comes at the expense of the sound quality of the recording. I would rather hear some surface noise from a 78 than to muddy up the sound and have it sounding rather lackluster.

Etude Op. 46 No.24 by Stephen Heller.

STEPHEN HELLER (1813-1888) was a prolific composer of piano music in the Romantic Era. His compositions are largely forgotten today, which is unfortunate, as they are melodically inventive, varied, expressive. and a joy to play. Heller spent much of his long and productive life teaching piano, and many of his enduring pieces are the ones he composed for his students, such as these thirty progressive etudes of Opus 46.
