Brighton-hailing producer Kideko unleashes his debut release on TMT Records. The track titled ‘The Jam’ is filled with a dance floor rhythm that can’t help but to be put on repeat, with a head-spinning sample sure to send you back to the 90s. Launched in 2015, TMT Records set out with the intention of providing genre-spanning music with worldwide appeal. This ethos is mirrored by its London-based founder, astute in discovering talent with an array of sounds. While TMT Records may be somewhat veiled in ambiguity, its music demands to be heard…

So you finally got what you wanted
You've achieved your aim by making me walk in line
And when you just can't get any higher
You use your senses to suss out this week's climber
And the small fame that you've acquired
Has brought you into cult status
But to me you're still a collector

There's tarts and whores but you're much more
You're a different kind 'cause you want their minds
And you just don't care 'cause you've got no pride
It's just a face on your pillowcase
    That thrills you

And you started looking much older
And your fashion sense is second rate like your perfume
But to you in your little dream world
You're still the Queen of the butterfly collectors

As you carry on 'cause it's all you know
    You can't light a fire
    You can't cook or sew
You get from day to day by filling your head
But surely you must know the appeal between your legs
    Has worn off

And I don't care about morals
'Cause the world's insane and we're all to blame anyway
And I don't feel any sorrow
Towards the Kings and Queens of the butterfly collectors

There's tarts and whores but you're much more
You're a different kind 'cause you want their minds
And you just don't care 'cause you've got no pride
It's just a face on your pillowcase
    That thrills you

    You can't light a fire
    You can't cook or sew

To be someone must be a wonderful thing
A famous footballer a rock singer
or a big film star, yes I think I would like that
To be rich and have lots of fans
have lots of girls to prove that I'm a man
    And be No. 1

    and liked by everyone
Getting drugged up with my trendy friends
They really dig me and I dig them
    And the bread I spend

    is like my fame
    it's quickly diminished
And there's no more swimming in a guitar shaped pool
no more reporters at my beck and call
no more cocaine it's only ground chalk
no more taxis now we'll have to walk

But didn't we have a nice time -
didn't we have a nice time
Oh wasn't it such a fine time

I realize I should have stuck to my guns
instead shit out to be one of the bastard sons
    and lose myself

    I know it was wrong
but it's cost me a lot
And there's no more drinking after the club shuts down,
I'm out on me arse with the rest of the clowns
It's really frightening without a bodyguard
so I stay confined to my lonely room

  • In The City - From The Jam

    2:40

This is live music at it's best. From the Jam perform In the City which was the debut single by English mod band, The Jam. This was their first single to chart in the UK Top 40 reaching No. 40 in 1977. The song is a celebration of youth in the big city and of what Paul Weller called the young idea, reflecting Weller's optimism for the punk movement. While this was only a minor hit on the charts, the song was the UK's first introduction to The Jam and the start of the Bands input on the songs that helped catalyse the mod revival.

This performance comes from the From the Jam - A 1st Class Return concert Live at the Forum in December 2007. From the Jam kick off at full speed, each one complimenting the other and the material as fresh as when it was at the top of the UK Charts! They turned a chilly night in North London into a rhythm inferno, and in doing so, rewrite modern world anthems for the 21st century!

    From the Jam line up:
Bruce Foxton - Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Vocals.
    Rick Buckler - Drums.
Russell Hastings - Lead Vocals, Guitar and Acoustic Guitar.
Dave Moore - Guitar, Bass, Keyboards and Backing Vocals.

  • The Eton Rifles - From The Jam

    3:53

This is live music at its best. From the Jam perform The Jam's first Top 10 hit The Eton Rifles, which originally charted at No. 3 in the UK Top 40. This song was the only Jam song not to have an official video recorded and was the only single to be released by The Jam from the original Setting Sons album in 1979. The Eton Rifles is about the difficulties faced by unemployed and lower paid working class people protesting against a system loaded against them.

  • The Jam - Setting Sons - Little Boy Soldiers

    3:33

Setting Sons is the fourth studio album by British band The Jam. The group's critical and commercial favour, begun with their third album, All Mod Cons, continued through this album. The Eton Rifles became the group's first top 10 UK hit, peaking at #3.
In contrast to its pop-oriented predecessor, this album features a much harder, tougher production, albeit with the overarching melodicism common throughout The Jam's discography. Arguably, this is the Jam's most thematically ambitious LP. Singer, guitarist, and songwriter Paul Weller originally conceived Setting Sons as a concept album about three boyhood friends who later reunite as adults after an unspecified war only to discover they have grown up and apart. The concept was never fully developed, and it remains unclear which tracks were originally intended as part of the story, though it is commonly agreed that Thick As Thieves, Little Boy Soldiers, Wasteland, and Burning Sky are likely constituents; extant Jam bootlegs feature a version of Little Boy Soldiers split into three separate recordings, possible evidence that the song was intended to serve as a recurring motif, with separate sections appearing between other songs on the album.
The album was musically ambitious as well. Little Boy Soldiers consists of several movements, reminiscent of compositions by The Kinks. Wasteland features the unconventional instrument of the recorder. Even more striking is Bruce Foxton's Smithers-Jones. Widely considered the bassist's finest three minutes of songwriting, the song was originally released as the B-side to the non-LP single When You're Young months before the album's release, and is here redone in an all-strings arrangement, save a bit of electric guitar in the coda. According to the liner notes of the Direction Reaction Creation box set, the revamping of Smithers-Jones was suggested by drummer Rick Buckler.
The liner notes also imply that the album was a somewhat rushed effort, which may explain why the original underlying concept was not fully developed, as well as the inclusion of cover songs and prior releases: Smithers-Jones had already been released; Heat Wave is a cover of the Martha and the Vandellas' Motown hit. Since The Eton Rifles was released in advance of the LP for promotional purposes, this leaves only seven entirely new original songs on the album.
Nonetheless, the album remains one of The Jam's most critically favoured works alongside All Mod Cons and Sound Affects. The only song particularly singled out for negative criticism is the cover of Heat Wave, which clearly owes more to The Who's arrangement than the original. As Allmusic put it, Setting Sons often reaches brilliance and stands among The Jam's best albums, but the inclusion of a number of throwaways and knockoffs (especially the out-of-place cover of Heat Wave which closes the album) mars an otherwise perfect album.[3] (Nonetheless, Allmusic gave the album the full five stars.)

  • The Jam - When Youre Young

    3:15

Life is timeless, days are long when you're young
You used to fall in love with everyone
Any guitar and any bass drum
Life is a drink and you get drunk when you're young
Life is new and there's things to be done
You can't wait to be grown up
    Acceptance into the capital world
You pull on some weed, then you pull on someone when you're young

But you find out life isn't like that
    It's so hard to comprehend
Why you set up your dreams to have them smashed in the end

But you don't mind you've got time on your side
And they're never gonna make you stand in line
You're just waiting for the right time

    You're fearless and brave

you can't be stopped when you're young
You swear you're never ever gonna work for someone
No corporations for the new age sons
Tears of rage roll down your face
But still you say it's fun
And you find out life isn't like that
    It's so hard to understand
Why the world is your oyster but your future's a clam

It's got you in its grip before your born
It's done with the use of a dice and a board
They let you think you're king but you're really a pawn

    You're fearless and brave

you can't be stopped when you're young
You used to fall in love with everyone

But I've returned with haste to where my

No matter where I go I will come back to my English Rose

I've searched the secret mists -
    I've climbed the highest peaks
Caught the wild wind home to hear her soft voice speak
To hear her soft voice speak
    No matter where I roam
I will return to my English Rose

  • The Jam - The Bitterest Pill

    3:38

In your white lace and your wedding bells
You look the picture of contented new wealth
But from the on-looking fool who believed your lies
I wish this grave would open up and swallow me alive
For the bitterest pill is hard to swallow
The love I gave hangs in sad coloured, mocking shadows

When the wheel of fortune broke, you fell to me
Out of grey skies to change my misery
The vacant spot, your beating heart took its place
But now I watch smoke leave my lips and fill an empty room

For the bitterest pill is hard to swallow
The love I gave hangs in sad coloured, mocking shadows

The bitterest pill is mine to take
If I took if for a hundred years, I couldn't feel anymore ill

Now autumn's breeze blows summer's leaves through my life
Twisted and broken dawn, no days with sunlight
The dying spark, you left your mark on me
The promise of your kiss, but with someone else

For the bitterest pill is mine to swallow
The love I gave hangs in sad coloured, mocking shadows

The bitterest pill is mine to take
If I took if for a hundred years, I couldn't feel anymore ill!

  • The Jam - The Gift - Happy Together

    2:50

The Gift is the sixth and final studio album by British band The Jam. Released on 12 March 1982, it reached #1 on the British charts. Clocking in at 32:17 minutes, the album received a mixed reception from critics and fans.
The original release of the album was on 12 vinyl, and initial copies came with a paper bag stating The Jam... A Gift. These copies are increasingly difficult to find, especially in good condition. Other issues included the regular vinyl issue, the Japanese vinyl issue (with a bonus lyric book), the CD issue, the re-mastered issue, and a recently issued Japanese version in a mini-LP style sleeve.
The album moved away from the simple three-chord music of In the City and This Is The Modern World, and the more melodic All Mod Cons, Setting Sons and Sound Affects, to demonstrate Weller's love of northern soul. Funk bass lines and wah-wah guitar effects were often used throughout the album, along with jazz influences such as brass sections and saxophone solos (most notably on the track Precious). Only two songs on the album exceed three and a half minutes.
The biggest hit of the album was Town Called Malice. The song's lyrics are an accurate reflection of English life at the time, and deal with small-town issues such as alcoholism, the struggle to make a living, unemployment and lack of facilities in small towns.
Just Who Is the 5 O'Clock Hero?, which was released as a 7 vinyl single in the Netherlands only, represents the efforts put in by 9-to-5 working men and women of Britain, who keep society running (and as such, are unsung heroes). Unlike the earlier song Mr. Clean from All Mod Cons, Weller does not mock the character, but rather praises him/her. However, the character from Mr. Clean represents a completely different strata of society, the executive/upper management types who would typically hound and otherwise make the character from Just Who Is The 5 O'Clock Hero?'s life difficult.
Weller's experimentation of several different musical styles previously unexplored by The Jam on this album led to increasing disagreement with the other band members, Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, who were disillusioned with the move away from a traditional pub rock or punk rock style. The band broke up after touring the album (even after its massive success, rising to #1 on the British charts) on the 'Trans-Global Express Tour'.
After the album's release, Paul Weller went on to form The Style Council. The song Carnation was later covered by Liam Gallagher of Oasis and Steve Cradock of Ocean Colour Scene.
The Gift is due for a deluxe release in late 2012.
