The Enemy - We'll Live And Die In These Towns - We'll Live And Die In These Towns

    Lyrics:
You spend your time in smokey rooms
where haggled old women with cheap perfume say
it never happens for people like us you know
well nothing ever happened on it`s own
and well the toilets smell of desperation
the streets all echo of aggregation
    and you wonder
why you cant get no sleep
when you`ve got nothing to do,
and you`ve had nothing to eat
    your life`s slipping
and sliding right out of view
    and there`s absolutely nothing
    that you can do, well

    We`ll live and die,
We`ll live and die in these towns
Don`t let it drag you down
Don`t let it drag you down now

    We`ll live and die,
We`ll live and die in these towns
Don`t let it drag you down
Don`t let it drag you down now

Dirty dishes from a tv meal
that went cold from the wind
    throuh a smashed up window
You cant go out if anybody calls ya
cos you cant have a bath
    when there`s no hot water
    and your friends are out
    on the town again
and you ask yourself if it will ever end
and it`s all too much for your head to take
just a matter of time before you break, well

    We`ll live and die,
We`ll live and die in these towns
Don`t let it drag you down
Don`t let it drag you down now

    We`ll live and die,
We`ll live and die in these towns
Don`t let it drag you down
Don`t let it drag you down now

    Now...
    Now...

    We`ll live and die,
We`ll live and die in these towns
Don`t let it drag you down
Don`t let it drag you down now

    We`ll live and die,
We`ll live and die in these towns
Don`t let it drag you down
Don`t let it drag you down now

Enemies is a mostly instrumental math-pop band who write cathartic tropical jams to ward off the dreary cloud-cover of their UK home. They're an exceptional group of musicians whose colorful guitar tones chatter back and forth with the rhythm section's shrewd beat construction while leaping across a multitude of time signatures. Enemies makes mathematical, nerdy rock feel sunny, reflective and downright optimistic. Though often extremely technical, their playful musical banter illuminates the strength of grasp this quartet has on writing pop hooks. Watch the band's exceptional performance here on Audiotree Live.

Why was Elsa born with magical powers? What truths about the past await Elsa as she ventures into the unknown to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond Arendelle? The answers are calling her but also threatening her kingdom. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven, she'll face a dangerous but remarkable journey. In “Frozen,” Elsa feared her powers were too much for the world. In “Frozen 2,” she must hope they are enough. From the Academy Award®-winning team—directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, producer Peter Del Vecho and songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez—and featuring the voices of Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2” opens in U.S. theaters on Nov. 22, 2019.

    5:35

Night Train - Played by Roy Ingram's Jazz & Blues Band - A UK Midlands Jazz & Blues Band - Jazz @ The Westwood -
A 'MidNiteSun' Music Video 2008 - - From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
    Origins and development.
Night Train has a long and complicated history. The piece's opening riff was first recorded in 1940 by a small group led by Duke Ellington sideman Johnny Hodges under the title That's the Blues,
Old Man. Ellington used the same riff as the opening and closing theme of a longer-form composition, Happy-Go-Lucky Local, that was
itself one of four parts of his Deep South Suite. Forrest was part of Ellington's band when it performed this composition, which has a long tenor saxophone break in the middle. After leaving Ellington,
Forrest recorded Night Train on United Records and had a major rhythm & blues hit. While Night Train employs the same riff as the earlier recordings, it is used in a much earthier R&B setting.
Forrest inserted his own solo over a stop-time rhythm not used in the Ellington composition. He put his own stamp on the tune, but its relation to the earlier composition is obvious. Like Illinois Jacquet's solo on Flying Home, Forrest's original saxophone solo on Night Train became a veritable part of the composition, and is usually recreated in cover versions by other performers. Buddy Morrow's trombone solo chorus from his recording of the tune is similarly incorporated into many performances.
    Lyrics.
Several different sets of lyrics have been set to the tune of Night Train. The earliest, written in 1952, are credited to Lewis P. Simpkins, the head of United Records, and guitarist Oscar Washington.[1] They are a typical blues lament by man who regrets treating his woman badly now that she's left him. Douglas Wolk, who
describes the original lyrics as fairly awful, suggests that Simpkins co-wrote (or had Washington write) them as a deliberate throwaway in order to get part of the tune's songwriting credit; this entitled him to substantial share of Night Train's royalties, even though it was most often performed as an instrumental without the lyrics.[2] Eddie Jefferson recorded a version of Night Train with more optimistic lyrics about a woman returning to her man on the night train.
    Notable recordings.
Night Train has been recorded by numerous performers over the years: Jimmy Forrest's original version of Night Train was a #1 R&B hit in 1952. A pop version recorded by Buddy Morrow and His Orchestra reached #27 on the charts, also in 1952. This version features a classic and oft quoted trombone solo by Buddy Morrow
himself. Louis Prima released a version in his album The Wildest!,
released in 1957. It features Sam Butera on saxophone and begins with a C. C. Rider segment. The rock and roll instrumental group The Viscounts recorded the tune twice, once in 1960 and again in 1966 in a version where they used their instruments to imitate the sound of a train. James Brown released a version of Night Train in
1962 that reached #5 on the R#B charts and #35 on the pop charts. His performance replaced the original lyrics of the song with a shouted list of American cities (mainly in the South) and many repetitions of the song's name. A live version of the tune was the closing number on his breakthrough 1963 album Live at the Apollo. Jazz pianist Oscar Peterson recorded Night Train with his trio on a 1962 album of the same name. Bill Doggett, famous for his own
instrumental Honky Tonk, released a version of Night Train in
1964 as a two-part single. Kadoc released a dance/electronic track The Nighttrain with samples from the James Brown recording. Public Enemy also released a version of Night Train which took samples from the James Brown version. The group Reverend Organdrum (featuring Jim The Reverend Horton Heat Heath) performs Night Train on their 2008 album Hi-Fi Stereo.

    GHOSTS

Take this roof away from me.
I’m staying here till something picks me up.
Call the boy we used to see running wild until he had to stop.

Ghosts were rising high in the air.
They’ve been hiding for so long.
All these frightened eyes you have spared.
    They’ve been scared all along.

    Take this sertraline relief.
I’m down but I have fled the enemy.
    Shake some prosperous belief.
    We’ll steer towards its immortality.

    Boy, believe me.

The Enemy - Had Enough - We'll Live And Die In These Towns

    Lyrics:
Give me a, good enough reason
Why i should not, cut you down
You're been taking too much, ever since you started hanging round, this crowd

And i've had enough, had enough
Yes you let me down, let me down
And now i'm giving up, giving up
Yes i'll see you round, see you round and now now

    Hey hey
What's the matter with your face, face?
When you have it your way, way
Won't you give me some time, to understand you're mine?

    Ooooo it's alright
    ooooo it's alright

Let me say what I want
Don't you know what was on the tip of my tongue?
If you ?? take a look outside
    You will see, you're wrong

And i've had enough, had enough
Yes you let me down, let me down
And now i'm giving up, giving up
Yes i'll see you round, see you round and now now

    Hey hey
What's the matter with your face, face?
When you have it your way, way
Won't you give me some time, to understand you're mine?

    Ooooo it's alright
    ooooo it's alright

The Enemy - This Song - We'll Live And Die In These Towns

    Lyrics:
Half the kids who you grew up with,
Were pushin prams by the time that they were just sixteen,
If love is a drug then where is the cure,
For the girl who used to talk to you about her dream.
And all the boys with all their toys,
Couldnt see the signs as we scortched out eyes with nicotine,
And the grown ups said, listen to your head,
But our hearts were crying out for heroes on TV screens.

Now this song is about you,
    Now this song is about...

    Changes in your mind,
    Changes in your life,
    Changes in the times,
And the reason you can't sleep at night,
    Changes in your mind,
    Changes in your life,
    Changes in the times,
And the reason you gave up the fight.

Half the kids that arnt pushing prams,
Are pushing pills to boys and girls who are half their age

And the pubs and clubs are full of drunks,
They dont remember the day the were born or even their mum or the names.

An old man sings a tune but hes drowned out by a fight next to a fruit machine.

And all of this, our hearts, our nation,
    A total lack of civilization,
Will it ever be the same?

Now this song is about you,
    Now this song is about...

    Changes in your mind,
    Changes in our lives,
    Changes in the times,
And the reason you we cant sleep at night,
    Changes in our mind,
    Changes in our lives,
    Changes in the times,
And the reason we gave up the fight.

Now this song....is about, is about, is about you,
Now this song....is about, is about, is about you,
Now this song....is about, is about, is about you,
Now this song....is about, is about, is about you,

    LYRICS
What a shame, what a shame we all remain
    Such fragile broken things
    A beauty half betrayed
    Butterflies with punctured wings

Still there are darkened places deep in my heart
Where once was blazing light, now
    There's a tiny spark

    Oh Glory
    Come and find me
    Oh Glory
    Come and find me

    Dancing all alone
To the sound of an enemy's song
I'll be lost until you find me

    Fighting on my own
In a war that's already been won
I'll be lost until you come and find me here
    Oh Glory

What a mess, what a mystery we've made
Of love and other simple things
    Learning to forgive
Even when it wasn't a mistake

    I question every human
Who won't look in my eyes
Scars left on my heart formed patterns in my mind.

    Oh Glory
    You will find me

    Dancing all alone
To the sound of an enemy's song
I'll be lost until you find me

    Fighting on my own,
In a war that's already been won
I'll be lost until you come and find me here
    Oh Glory

    (I'll be lost until)

Like the moon, we borrow our light
I am nothing but a shadow in the night

So if you let me I will catch fire
To let your glory and mercy shine

======== The Attack Of The Dead Men LYRICS =======

    Turmoil at the front
    Wilhelms forces on the hunt
There's a thunder in the east
It's an attack of the deceased
    They've been facing poison gas
    7, 000 charge en masse
Turn the tide of the attack
And force the enemy to turn back

And that's when the dead men are marching again

    Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
    Facing the lead once again
    Hundred men
    Charge again
    Die again

    Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
    Facing the lead once again
    Hundred men
    Charge again
    Die again

    Two combatants spar
    Hindenburg against the Tsar
    Move in 12 battalions large
    Into a Russian counter-charge
They'll be fighting for their lives
    As their enemy revives
    Russians won't surrender, no
    Striking fear into their foe

And that's when the dead men are marching again…

  • Dear Enemy - Good Life

    4:01

Dear Enemy were named from a Ginger Meggs comic strip--the hero receives letters from his rival which are always addressed to 'Dear Enemy'.[1][3] The Melbourne band formed in 1982, with an original lineup of vocalist Ron Martini, guitarists Chris Langford and Les Barker (ex-Benders), keyboardist Martin Fisher (ex-Little Heroes), bassist Peter Leslie (ex-Little Heroes) and drummer Ian Morrison.[1] Prior to taking the name Dear Enemy, they had played together as a covers band called Stonewall.[4]

The band picked up a strong following on the live circuit and in 1983 signed a recording contract with the American label EMI/Capitol - one of the first Australian bands signed direct to an overseas label.[4] They recorded their debut album Ransom Note in the United States under the guidance of producer Peter McIan (Men at Work, Mondo Rock) - in fact the band were signed with the condition that Peter McIan oversee the recording sessions.[4] The impressive album generated three quality singles, the first of which Computer One (which was written in America by Langford and Fisher) proved to be Dear Enemy's one and only major hit, peaking at No. 5 on the Australian charts in late 1983.[2] The follow-up single The Good Life stalled at No. 39 a few months later,[2] whilst the slide continued with the third single Kids On The Street failing to chart. Ransom Note sold more than 25,000 units and reached No. 15 on the national album charts.[2]

Dear Enemy released a new single a few months later with New Hero, which featured on the soundtrack to the Australian motion picture Street Hero.[5] The single however only reached No. 93 on the charts.[2] A couple of lineup changes, with Joey Amenta replacing Barker in April, 1985, and two more flop singles, Stay and You're Right, You're Right, followed over the next four years before Dear Enemy's system crashed and they called it a day at the end of 1988. Dear Enemy did record tracks for a second album during this period but due to contract and legal problems the album didn't see the light of day.[4] Ron Martini also released a CD entitled Big Night Out in 1996 with backing band The Missiles Of Love. Ian Morrison went onto perform with Goanna.

In 2000 EMI released a CD Best of Dear Enemy (Ransom Note and Beyond) which was a compilation of all the band's releases, this was followed in 2004 by a Best of, which was basically Ransom Note and the inclusion of the single New Hero.

    LYRICS:

There isn't a foreign answer to this
    Don't ask the question again
I'm sick of being on repeat
I won't be round if you treat me this way
I know you think it's all wrong
I'm made out to be the enemy
The faults I lack, the ones you have
    The outweigh my uncertainty
There isn't a foreign answer to this
    Don't ask the question again
I'm sick of being on repeat
I won't be round if you treat me this way

I'm sure I've got this all wrong
I never get it in my head
    But then again I'm sure
The sky is blue not red
    So go ahead and run
    Run go hide your lies
    I'm going to find you
    To unravel the ties
I don't want to say this
But this is the only way
    This is the only way
I can get you to comprehend
Once again I have to fight it
I'll pull out my only defence
    You shouldn't have started this
    I'll show you true consequence

Every road I have been on
    I've not looked back
I will not stop till I can rest
I will find home, there's nothing on my back, my pride is gone
    They wait for me
    I will find home
Every road we have been on
    We just get lost
We'll not stop till I can rest
    We are just bone
    We aren't alive
    We are just bone
    We aren't alive

    These are the numbers
    The countless armies follow me
    Spreading words like fire following
    The enemy
    I'm a villain to some
But you're not looking for a hero
    And I'll follow my gut
It's the only thing I can trust
I don't need you to patronise me
    They'll set me free

Well you can break our bones
But we will never lose heart
So let this story take flight
Cause this is just the start

    4:18

    Review from here:

    The Ghost

    Paul Eastment vocal, guitar
    Terry Guy keyboards, vocal
    Charlie Grima drums
    Shirley Kent vocals, guitar
    Daniel MacGuire bass guitar, vocal

'' This group was formed by singer/guitarist Paul Eastment (formerly of Velvett Fogg) in Birmingham during 1969. Drummer Charlie Grima was formerly with the Wellington Kitch Jump Band. The original name for the band was Holy Ghost but was soon shortened in order to avoid negative publicity. Local singer/songwriter Shirley Kent later joined the group and they started recording an album in 1969 with a single being released from it entitled When You're Dead. The single and the resulting album that came out in early 1970 on the Gemini Records label, put The Ghost in the progressive music category although there was also a strong folk influence that was probably due to Shirley Kent's involvement.

A second Ghost single was released later in 1970 but Shirley Kent left the group soon after to start a solo career. The remaining members continued after changing the band's name to Resurrection but later split up with no further recordings being released. Charlie Grima went on to join Roy Wood's chart-topping group Wizzard (see The Move) and later embarked on an acting career. Former Ghost members Paul Eastment and Terry Guy also appeared on Shirley Kent's solo album that was released in 1975. Danny MacGuire died in 1998.''

Bootleg of Chris Knox's first wave punk band The Enemy.

The Enemy were a band from Dunedin, New Zealand, that are often seen as the starting point of the Dunedin Sound rock movement.

Though the band did not release any official recordings, some of their performances are available in bootleg form. They are seen as hugely influential on the development of music in New Zealand. Though the band only existed from 1977 to 1979, they created the style which led to the development of many later bands in both Dunedin and New Zealand in general.

PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO PUNK LIVES LIVE CHANNEL NOW!

Punk Lives Live is a Work-in-progress musical archive documenting the history of much of British Punk Rock scene from the 80's and 90's (and beyond). Most of it shot as part of a musical journey by Control/Kontrol! editor and front man of Underclass UK, Stuart Newman.

Shot mostly in the days when the 80's bubble had burst but before the gravy train of week long festivals, all the money and industry feckwits had gone and Punk Rock had gone back to what it did best - be raw and be honest! There was no one to upset, unlike 2019 where upsetting big festival promoters or PC enforcing websites make most bands nodding heads.

Some of the best punk rock songs from the top punk rock bands in British punk history. We’ve documented the bands time and the UK media tried to ignore and white wash over.
