    Bad Moon Rising
    Green River

    Lyrics:

I see the bad moon rising.
I see trouble on the way.
    I see earthquakes and lightnin'.
    I see bad times today.

    CHORUS:

    Don't go around tonight,
Well, it's bound to take your life,
There's a bad moon on the rise.

    I hear hurricanes ablowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
    I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.

    CHORUS

    All right!

Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like we're in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye.

Some folks are born made to wave the flag
Ooh, they're red, white and blue
And when the band plays Hail to the chief
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord
    It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don't they help themselves, oh
But when the taxman comes to the door
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes
    It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no millionaire's son, no
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no

Some folks inherit star spangled eyes
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord
And when you ask them, How much should we give?
Ooh, they only answer More! More! More! yoh

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival - Long As I Can See The Light

    3:33

Long as I Can See the Light is taken from CCR's legendary fifth studio album, Cosmo's Factory. Stream now or pre-order the 50th anniversary half-speed mastered vinyl:

We’re honored to unveil this special fan-generated video for the beloved Cosmo’s Factory closer, “Long as I Can See the Light.” In the lead-up to Father’s Day 2020, Creedence fans worldwide were encouraged to submit videos and photos documenting cherished memories with their fathers, grandfathers or other guiding lights in their life. Warm thanks for all the incredibly moving fan contributions.

The tradition of musical inheritance is strong among CCR appreciators: The band’s timeless albums have been proudly passed down from generation to generation. Music’s capacity to draw people together is more important now than ever, so while many may be unable to be physically near their loved ones this Father’s Day, the hope is that this video will help remind families just how deeply they’re connected.

One of many hits on Cosmo’s Factory Long as I Can See the Light was released in 1970 as part of a double A-side single with Lookin’ out My Back Door.” Both songs peaked at number two in the U.S., and despite Creedence having never played “Long as I Can See the Light” live, it became a fan favorite. Over the years, the song has taken on different meanings, but John Fogerty has stated that the song is about the loner in me. Wanting to feel understood, needing those at home to shine a light so that I can make my way back.

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Cosmo’s Factory this summer, Craft Recordings is issuing a half-speed master edition of the album, pressed on 180-gram vinyl and set for release on August 14th. The album was mastered at half speed by the award-winning engineer Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. Available for pre-order now, this audiophile edition of Cosmo’s Factory comes housed in a tip-on jacket, replicating the original packaging.

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival - Wholl Stop The Rain

    2:31

#CCR Creedence Clearwater Revival is undeniably one of the greatest rock bands of all time, with an instantly recognizable, raw, bayou sound, popularized in songs like Proud Mary and Green River”. Since their formation in the 1960s, CCR has sold over 50 million records, while their songs remain in heavy rotation on the radio.

Though the band only released 7 studio albums in their too-short career, Creedence had an astonishing track record: eight consecutive gold singles (Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Green River, Down on the Corner, Who'll Stop the Rain, Up Around the Bend, Lookin' Out My Back Door, Have You Ever Seen the Rain?) and eight consecutive gold albums. With music that sounds as fresh and compelling today as it did 30 years ago, CCR is one of a handful of bands whose entire body of work has attained true classic status.

  • Have You Ever Seen The Rain ? - Creedence Clearwater Revival

    2:36

    Someone told me long ago
There's a calm before the storm
    I know,
it's been coming for some time
When it's over, so they say
    It'll rain a sunny day
    I know,
    shining down like water

    *I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain ?
    I want to know
Have you ever seen the rain
Coming down on a sunny day? *

    Yesterday and days before
Sun is cold and rain is hard
    I know,
been that way for all my time
    Till forever, on it goes
Through the circle, fast and slow
    I know, it can't stop,
    but I wonder (*)

    Lyrics:

Just about a year ago, I set out on the road,
Seekin' my fame and fortune, lookin' for a pot of gold.
Things got bad, and things got worse, I guess you will know the tune.
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again.

Rode in on the Greyhound, I'll be walkin' out if I go.
I was just passin' through, must be seven months or more.
Ran out of time and money, looks like they took my friends.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.

The man from the magazine said I was on my way.
Somewhere I lost connections, ran out of songs to play.
I came into town, a one night stand, looks like my plans fell through
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again.
    Mmmm...
If I only had a dollar, for ev'ry song I've sung.
And ev'ry time I've had to play while people sat there drunk.
You know, I'd catch the next train back to where I live.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.

    Do what he done to me.;
    'Cause he'll get you,
'Cause he'll get you now, now.

And I can remember the fourth of July,

And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin',
    Chasin' down a hoodoo there.
    Chasin' down a hoodoo there.

    CHORUS:

Update March 2019: The organizers of the Woodstock Music & Art Fair revealed the lineup of the official 50th anniversary festival, including several performers – John Fogerty and Santana, among them – who appeared at the original 1969 festival. Woodstock 50 will be held August 16, 17 and 18, 2019, in Watkins Glen, N.Y.

Rolling Stone update April 29, 2019: Woodstock 50 – scheduled to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the legendary music festival – has been canceled.

Although the all-star lineup – featuring Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus, Dead & Company, the Raconteurs and dozens more, including acts from the original Woodstock fest – was announced in early March, tickets for the festival did not go on sale; a planned Earth Day on-sale in April was postponed due to reported permit issues.

However, on Monday, Dentsu, one of the festival’s main investment arm, announced that Woodstock 50, organized in part by Woodstock co-founder Michael Lang, would not proceed.

“It’s a dream for agencies to work with iconic brands and to be associated with meaningful movements,” Dentsu said in a statement. “We have a strong history of producing experiences that bring people together around common interests and causes which is why we chose to be a part of the Woodstock 50th Anniversary Festival.

The company continued, “But despite our tremendous investment of time, effort and commitment, we don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock Brand name while also ensuring the health and safety of the artists, partners and attendees. As a result and after careful consideration, Dentsu Aegis Network’s Amplifi Live, a partner of Woodstock 50, has decided to cancel the festival. As difficult as it is, we believe this is the most prudent decision for all parties involved.

    Lyrics:

Left a good job in the city,
Workin' for The Man ev'ry night and day,
And I never lost one minute of sleepin',
Worryin' 'bout the way things might have been.

    CHORUS:
    Big wheel keep on turnin',
    Proud Mary keep on burnin',
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.

Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis,
Pumped a lot of 'pane down in New Orleans,
But I never saw the good side of the city,
'Til I hitched a ride on a river boat queen.

    CHORUS
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.

If you come down to the river,
Bet you gonna find some people who live.
You don't have to worry 'cause you have no money,
People on the river are happy to give.

    CHORUS
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.

♪ Whenever I hear this song I think of home. You see when I came home from the hospital, it was to my home on the bayou; the happiest place it the world. When I was younger and you wanted to find me, all you had to do was look on the bayou; from morning till night I was out having fun, during school breaks, on my boat. I knew those bayous like the back of my hand. The song is the first track on Creedence Clearwater Revival's second album, Bayou Country. It was released as the B-side of the single Proud Mary and reached #2 on the Billboard Charts. As the songwriter, John Fogerty, commented: Born on the Bayou was vaguely like Porterville, about a mythical childhood and a heat-filled time, the Fourth of July. I put it in the swamp where, of course, I had never lived. It was late as I was writing. I was trying to be a pure writer, no guitar in hand, visualizing and looking at the bare walls of my apartment. Tiny apartments have wonderful bare walls, especially when you can't afford to put anything on them. Chasing down a hoodoo. Hoodoo is a magical, mystical, spiritual, non-defined apparition, like a ghost or a shadow, not necessarily evil, but certainly other-worldly. I was getting some of that imagery from Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters. No copy infraction intended on my videos.
