  • The Flying Machine - Broken Hearted Me, Evil Hearted You

    3:02

The Flying Machine first rose out of the ashes of British band Pinkerton's Assorted Colours. Pinkerton's (as they were often known, for short) had scored a major UK hit with Mirror Mirror in 1966 and continued recording over the next few years. However, by 1969, singer/guitarist Tony Newman, singer/autoharpist/original frontman Sam Kempe, and bassist Stuart Colman from Pinkerton's had teamed up with lead guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Wilkinson to form a new iteration of the group and, with Newman now assuming lead vocal/frontman duties, took the name The Flying Machine.

    2:36

You know, Baby, when youre in my arms, I can feel your loving magic charms

In the UK alone, Stevens has charted no fewer than 33 top 40 hit singles in the sales charts, making him one of the most charted (and biggest selling) acts of all-time. ------ Michael 'Mickey' Gee (31 December 1943, in Cardiff, Glamorgan, South Wales -- 20 January 2009, in Cardiff) was a rock and roll guitarist who played alongside some of the most prominent Welsh artists of the last forty years. lead guitarist ------ Albert Lee, born 21 December 1943 in Leominster, Herefordshire England is an English guitarist known for his finger-style and hybrid picking technique - lead guitarist ------ B.J. Coming to prominence in the early 1970s with the band Cochise, Cole has played in many styles of music, steel guitar ranging from mainstream pop and rock, to jazz and eclectic experimental music ------- Stuart Colman (born 19 December 1944, Harrogate, Yorkshire) into a well-known musical family, took up piano and bass guitar, and enjoyed his first taste of success when he joined Pinkerton's Assorted Colours in 1966.

Three years later, the group evolved into The Flying Machine and their first single under that name, Smile A Little Smile For Me, made the top five in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, selling over two million copies. In 1976 Colman jointly organized a march to the BBC, protesting about the lack of rock and roll music on BBC Radio One. Epic Records brought Colman in to take over the production reins with rockabilly icon, Shakin' Stevens ------ Geraint Watkins (born Geraint Meurig Vaughan Watkins, 5 February 1951, Abertridwr, near Caerphilly, Wales) is a rock and roll pianist and accordionist backing artistes such as; Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds, Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler, Paul McCartney, Roy St. John and Shakin' Stevens.--------- Ronnie Harwood was born in Hornsey Road, North London, England on 28th

Between the ages of 12 and 14 Ronnie was buying the latest records of that time and remembers his mum and dad taking him to see Rosemary Clooney at
the London Palladium. She had a big hit at the time with This Old House. In late 1955, at the Watling Boys Club at Woodcroft School, someone
brought in a 78 rpm record of Lonnie Donnegan singing The Rock Island

  • Pinkertons Assorted Colours - Angel

    4:02

Formed in Rugby, Warwickshire as 'The Liberators', they became Pinkerton's Assorted Colours in 1965, and scored a Top 10 hit with their first single release, Mirror, Mirror written by Tony Newman. They were managed by Reginald Calvert, and supported by his then radio station, Radio City. Lack of further chart success found them dubbed one-hit wonders.
Stuart Colman, Pinkerton's one time bassist, went on to become a BBC Radio One DJ, and later a producer for Shakin' Stevens, Cliff Richard and Billy Fury.
After their second single they shortened their name to 'Pinkerton's Colours', then to 'Pinkertons', and 1969 they reformed as The Flying Machine, who also became one-hit wonders, albeit in the United States.
