*OREO COOKIE BLUES*
Chocolate on my fingers, icing on my lips
Sugar diabetes and blubber on my hips
I keep the night light burning in the kitchen baby
So I can go downstairs and cruise
I got them oreo creme sandwich
Chocolate covered creme filled cookie blues
I hide'em in a cabinet, I keep'em in a jar
For emergency's you know I keep'em in the
Glove compartment of my car
And I can't live without'em
They git' me higher than I can get on booze
I got them oreo creme sandwich
Chocolate covered creme filled cookie blues
Doctor says I'm crazy
You better give'em up and quick
Or you'll be pushing up daisies because
Boy you definitely sick
I couldn't quit if I wanted to
Yeah I don't wanna lose
It's them oreo creme sandwich
Chocolate cover creme filled cookie
Built by nabisco, ain't no rookie
Next best thang to nookie blues

Wham! cover version
2:29
My cover of Stevie's version from The Sky Is Crying album. Originally written by Lonnie Mack. I programmed the drums and recorded the bass in Cubase and then transferred it to an RC-20XL Loop Station so I could trigger the backing track with my foot. For some reason, the sound quality of the drums becomes quite poor when doing this. Playing an American Strat (built from parts) w/Texas Specials through a modded TS-9 and a Fulltone OCD going to a Super Reverb which I've handwired according to Doug Hoffman's AB763 blackface circuit design.

Oreo Cookie Blues | Lonnie Mack and SRV | Intro & Verse
22:18
A great acoustic blues off of Lonnie Mack's 1985 comeback album, Strike Like Lightning, produced by Stevie Ray Vaughan. SRV plays all of the main guitar/lead on this one. Lonnie Mack was a huge, early influence on Stevie Ray's playing; Vaughan frequently mentioned that the classic instrumental Wham was the first record he learned how to play in the early '60's. Lonnie and Stevie frequently played together until Stevie's death in 1990. Enjoy my take on this great blues song!

Lonnie Mack had dropped out of the music scene for a few years. SRV produced & played on Strike Like Lightning released in 1985. Lonnie is from my area & years ago I had a friend who had a guitar on a stand in his living room just like Lonnie's. I've loved this song since it came out. Enjoy!
