    On Graveyard Hill Lyrics:

And when the moon grows smaller Donna picks out a flower
gives her a witchy power there in the witching hour in the witching hour
Donna’s taking her potion eating all my devotion
fucking up my emotion in the witching hour
Donna picks her a flower in the witching hour
On the graveyard hill she’s calling out her curse
I’m taking my last breath with each chapter and each verse
and soon I will be killed
In the poisonous forest Donna lights up her torches
her eyes are flying saucers her hair is black and gorgeous
I see her down at the crossroads she can lead you to madness
she’s leading me into darkness in the witching hour
in the witching hour in the witching hour

On the graveyard hill she’s calling out her curse
I’m taking my last breath with each chapter and each verse
and soon I will be killed
On the graveyard hill she’s calling out her curse
I’m taking my last breath with each chapter and each verse
and soon I will be killed and soon I will be killed

The Pixies - Monkey Gone To Heaven

    4:34

    Cut Version:

Monkey Gone to Heaven is a song by the American alternative rock band Pixies and is the seventh track on their 1989 album Doolittle. The song was written and sung by frontman Black Francis and was produced by Gil Norton. Referencing environmentalism and biblical numerology, the song's lyrics mirrored themes that were explored in Doolittle. Monkey Gone to Heaven was the first Pixies song to feature guest musicians: two cellists, Arthur Fiacco and Ann Rorich, and two violinists, Karen Karlsrud and Corine Metter.

Monkey Gone to Heaven was released as the first single from Doolittle in the United States and United Kingdom. As the band had signed to Elektra Records shortly before, the single also marked their first American and major label release. It was critically well-received; Rolling Stone's David Fricke said Monkey Gone to Heaven was a corrosive, compelling meditation on God and garbage.[1] In the years since its release, the song has received several accolades from music publications.

    Lyrics:

    there was a guy
an under water guy who controlled the sea
got killed by ten million pounds of sludge
from new york and new jersey
    this monkey's gone to heaven

    the creature in the sky
    got sucked in ahole
now there's a hole in the sky
    and the ground's not cold
and if the ground's not cold
    everything is gonna burn
    we'll all take turns
    i'll get mine, too
    this monkey's gone to haven

    rock me joe!

    if man is 5 [3x]
then the devil is 6 [5x]
    then god is 7 [3x]
    this monkey's gone to heaven

The Pixies - Gouge Away Lyrics

    2:46

    Gouge away
    You can gouge away
    Stay all day
    If you want to

    Missy aggravation
    Some sacred questions
    You stroke my locks
    Some marijuana
    If you got some

    Gouge away
    You can gouge away
    Stay all day
    If you want to

    Sleeping on your belly
    You break my arms
    You spoon my eyes
    Been rubbing a bad charm
    with holy fingers

    Gouge away
    You can gouge away
    Stay all day
    If you want to

    Chained to the pillars
    A 3-day party
    I break the walls
    and kill us all
    with holy fingers

    Gouge away
    You can gouge away
    Stay all day
    If you want to

Pixies: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

    13:42

The windowsills were lined with people standing, as every nook between every office desk filled to capacity with NPR employees and their assorted guests. Pixies, after getting misplaced for a time in our parking garage during a moment worthy of This Is Spinal Tap, showed up in time to encounter the largest crowd we've ever assembled for a Tiny Desk Concert. (Our new office space allows for more guests than the old one did, but it's still a mark of this band's significance for so many youthful grownups.)

Black Francis played an acoustic guitar for this set, while drummer David Lovering set up a simple snare and a cymbal, tapping a tambourine with his foot where a bass drum might be. With his electric guitar, Joey Santiago was the only plugged-in member of the group. The newest member of the Pixies is Paz Lenchantin, a musician of many talents who played violin at the Tiny Desk, though she handles bass duties at larger concerts. You may miss Kim Deal on bass for all the good reasons one might miss Kim Deal, but Lenchantin rhythmically fits in well, and was a treat to hear (albeit quietly) on violin.

Prior to the rolling of cameras, the band warmed up the crowd with Where Is My Mind, but this three-song set features a 2014 tune called Greens and Blues, a song yet to make it onto a Pixies release called Silver Snail, and 1989's Monkey Gone to Heaven, which melted hearts and seared minds with a new memory from a time long past. --BOB BOILEN

Where is my mind - Pixies, lyrics in description
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
    Your head will collapse
    But there's nothing in it
    And you'll ask yourself

    Where is my mind [3x]

    Way out in the water
    See it swimmin'

I was swimmin' in the Caribbean
Animals were hiding behind the rocks
    Except the little fish
But they told me, he swears
    Tryin' to talk to me.

    Where is my mind [3x]

    Way out in the water
    See it swimmin' ?

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
    Your head will collapse
    If there's nothing in it
    And you'll ask yourself

    Where is my mind [3x]

    Oh
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
    Oh
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
    Oh

loudQuietloud: A Film About the Pixies - Found Tapes

    1:25:40

    You Should Subscribe Here Now:
Found Tapes is a new weekly show that highlights some of the rarest, wierdest, and sometimes just really cool videos that people send to us. This week, Found Tapes hops in the van with indie rock greats The Pixies to document their 2004 reunion tour and get the scoop on what really happened after they first split.

Creative differences split them up back in 1993, but time has a way of healing even the most grievous wounds. A few phone calls and low-key rehearsals in 2003 finally culminated in the news that the reunion so many people had been waiting for was nigh. In 2004, when The Pixies finally put over a decade's worth of reunion rumors to rest and announced that they'd be hitting the road together once again. Since then, they've released an outright deluge of new material, bid farewell to Kim Deal, and given the overall impression of a band reborn. Deal's departure was a heavy blow, but she remains on good terms with the band; as this documentary shows, old issues die hard.

Directed by Matthew Galkin and Steven Cantor, loudQuietloud: A Film About the Pixies was originally released in 2006, and has been lovingly dug up by Found Tapes. It's an intimate look behind the scenes of one of indie rock's greatest success stories.

Before Nirvana stormed MTV and the alt-rock boom detonated, the Pixies forecasted the future of rock. Doolittle truly put them on the map as rock's weirdest and most revelatory band. In the process, it kickstarted a movement that would redefine the genre.
