    Pink Floyd - Comfortably numb

It's obviously not my song , so i am not going to take any creds for it ..

I know the song isn't from the dark side of the moon.
I chose this picture becuase I think it's the most representative and recognized symbol of Pink Floyd.

Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall

Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall

Lifted from Pink Floyd The Wall film, this video is actually comprised of two songs: The Happiest Days Of Our Lives and Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2 This video became the official video of Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2 after the release of the film in 1982.

This single is by far Pink Floyd's greatest ever mainstream success, instantly attaining classic status, and is perhaps their most famous piece of work.

ABINTW Pt. 2 even became the protest song of a group of South African students during the apartheid regime, the song was subsequently banned in South Africa.

The song itself is a protest against the rigidity of British schools, and in particular, the boarding school system Waters would have been part of as a young boy.

The poem read out by the schoolteacher is a direct reference to Money

The schoolteacher in this video was portrayed by the late, great, Scottish actor Alex McAvoy who passed away in June 2005.

If you haven't seen The Wall I would Highly recommend you to do so.

Pink Floyd Live The Reunion Full Concert

    24:02

Jump to Pink Floyd's last interviews and rehearsal while together as a group Afterwards, Roger Waters rejoined with David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright in Pink Floyd's first (and last) performance together in over 24 years. Speak to Me/Breathe/Breathe (Reprise), Money (5:04), Wish You Were Here (11:55), and Comfortably Numb (16:22) are performed by Pink Floyd at the London Live 8 concert, Hyde Park on July 2, 2005.

As on the original recordings, Gilmour sang the lead vocals on Breathe and Money, and shared them with Waters on Comfortably Numb. For Wish You Were Here, Waters sung half of the verse's lyrics, unlike the original recording. When Waters was not singing, he was often enthusiastically mouthing the lyrics off-microphone. With Richard Wright's death in September 2008, the Reunion Concert was to be the final concert to feature all four bandmates playing together.

    ---
The Story of Pink Floyd’s Reunion at Live 8: Roger Waters‘ relationship with David Gilmour was so distant in the period before Pink Floyd‘s celebrated reunion at Live 8 that Waters had to ask organizer Bob Geldof for his former bandmate’s phone number.
While Geldof had been persistent in trying to broker peace between the pair, he’d hit an initial roadblock with Gilmour – who once referred to a possible detente as something akin to “sleeping with your ex-wife.” Waters then interceded. Ultimately, the event’s mission – Live 8 was meant to raise awareness of poverty, debt and the AIDS crisis in developing nations – led to one of music’s most improbable remarriages, though only for a single evening.
“The moment was bigger than those bad feelings,” David Gilmour told the Associated Press in the days leading up to Pink Floyd’s July 2, 2005, appearance. “Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention, then it’s going to be worthwhile.”
And so Pink Floyd’s classic-era lineup – Gilmour, Nick Mason, Waters and Richard Wright – took the stage for the first time since a 1981 concert at Earl’s Court in London and, alas, for the last time ever.

“It’s great to be asked to help Bob raise public awareness on the issues of third-world debt and poverty,” Waters enthused as the day drew near. “The cynics will scoff. Screw ’em! Also, to be given the opportunity to put the band back together, even if it’s only for a few numbers, is a big bonus.”

To no one’s surprise, Pink Floyd’s reunion eclipsed a star-packed lineup at the London Hyde Park show, which also included Paul McCartney, the Who, Elton John, Madonna, R.E.M., U2, Coldplay and Robbie Williams. Live 8, scheduled to sync up with the 20th anniversary of Live Aid, also featured six other events through July 6. Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder, Dave Matthews, Jay-Z and others performed at Philadelphia. Brian Wilson, and Crosby Stills and Nash appeared in Berlin. Duran Duran and Tim McGraw were among the headliners in Rome. Annie Lennox performed at Edinburg as the G8 summit — a gathering of international leaders where debt cancellation and aid would be discussed — kicked off.

For Pink Floyd, however, the most immediate concern was far more small scale: getting the songs right. “It’s sort of assumed that we’ll all remember how they go,” Mason impishly admitted.

By all accounts, everyone was on their best behavior as three days of pre-show rehearsals unfolded. “There were times when Roger was struggling to not get bossy, and I was struggling to keep being bossy,” Gilmour said at the time. “I saw how arguments could have happened, but we aren’t at each other’s throats anymore. Getting rid of that acrimony has got to be a good thing. Who wants to have that fester in your mind the rest of your life?”

Pink Floyd were restricted, like all of the other artists performing at Live 8, to a short, 20-minute set. Even a reunion 24 years in the making was only a mere portion of the larger production. So the band settled on four songs: “Breathe” and “Money” from 1973’s The Dark Side of the Moon, “Wish You Were Here” from the 1975 album of the same name and “Comfortably Numb” from 1979’s The Wall, Pink Floyd’s penultimate recording with Waters. They left aside music from the two Gilmour-led Pink Floyd albums that followed the acrimonious split.

Pink Floyd’s catalog saw a stunning 1,300 percent sales increase after Live 8. Gilmour also had to deal with renewed questions about a larger-scale reunion with Waters. Pink Floyd’s core four were reportedly offered as much as $150 million for a U.S. tour. “It’s completely mad,” Gilmour said back then, “and we won’t do it. The idea for Live 8 was a one-off.”

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

    4:54

Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here (1975)

So, so you think you can tell
    Heaven from Hell,
    Blue skys from pain.
Can you tell a green field
    From a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade
    Your heros for ghosts?
    Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
    Cold comfort for change?
    And did you exchange
A walk on part in the war
For a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here.
    We're just two lost souls
    Swimming in a fish bowl,
    Year after year,
Running over the same old ground.
    What have we found?
    The same old fears.
    Wish you were here.

Pink Floyd were founded in 1965 by students Syd Barrett, Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright. Under Barrett's leadership, they released two charting singles and a successful debut album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967). Guitarist David Gilmour joined in December 1967; Barrett left in April 1968 due to deteriorating mental health. Waters became the band's primary lyricist and eventually their dominant songwriter, devising the concepts behind their albums The Dark Side of the Moon (1973), Wish You Were Here (1975), Animals (1977), The Wall (1979) and The Final Cut (1983). Waters left in 1985. Gilmour, Mason & Wright continued as Pink Floyd, and produced two more albums, A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) and The Division Bell (1994). Pink Floyd reunited with Waters in 2005 for a performance at the global awareness event Live 8. Barrett died in 2006 and Wright in 2008. The final Pink Floyd studio album, The Endless River, recorded without Waters and based on songs recorded in 1993–1994, was released in November 2014.
They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.

Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond Official Music Video

    13:23

Shine On You Crazy Diamond is a nine-part Pink Floyd composition written by Roger Waters, Richard Wright and David Gilmour. It is a tribute to former band member Syd Barrett. The song was first performed on their 1974 French tour, and recorded for their 1975 concept album Wish You Were Here. The song was intended to be a side-long composition (like Atom Heart Mother and Echoes), but was ultimately split into two parts and used to bookend the album, with new material composed that was more relevant to this song, and to the situation in which the band found themselves.

    |

    Lyrics:

Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
    Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
    Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught in the cross fire of childhood and stardom.
    Blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter.
Come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!

You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
    Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
    Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision.
    Rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions.
Come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!

(All ads added by right-owners. I don't have any profit)

    Pink Floyd
The Dark Side of the Moon

Is the eighth studio album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 1 March 1973 by Harvest Records. The album built on ideas explored in earlier recordings and live shows, but lacks the extended instrumental excursions that characterised their earlier work. Its themes explore conflict, greed, the passage of time, and mental illness, the latter partly inspired by the deteriorating mental state of founding member and principal contributor, Syd Barrett.
Upon its release, The Dark Side of the Moon was a commercial and critical success. It topped the Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart for a week, and remained on the chart for 741 weeks from 1973 to 1988. Following a change in methodology in 2009, the album re-entered the chart and has since appeared for over 900 weeks. With an estimated 45 million copies sold, it is Pink Floyd's most successful album and one of the best-selling worldwide. It has been remastered and re-released several times, and covered in its entirety by several acts. It produced two singles—Money and Us and Them—and is often regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time.

Pink Floyd - MOTHER The Wall 1980

    7:31

    Live Earls Court London 1980
    LYRICS
Mother, do you think they'll drop the bomb?
Mother, do you think they'll like this song?
Mother, do you think they'll try to break my balls?
Ooooh aah, mother, should I build the wall?

Mother, should I run for president?
Mother, should I trust the government?
Mother, will they put me in the firing line?
Ooooh aah, is it just a waste of time?

Hush now, baby, baby, don't you cry
Mama's gonna make all of your nightmares come true
Mama's gonna put all of her fears into you
Mama's gonna keep you right here under her wing
She won't let you fly but she might let you sing
Mama's gonna keep baby cosy and warm

Ooooh, babe, ooooh, babe, ooooh, babe
Of course Mama's gonna help build the wall

Mother, do you think she's good enough?
Mother, do you think she's dangerous?
Mother, will she tear your little boy apart?
Oooh aah, mother, will she break my heart?

Hush now, baby, baby, don't you cry
Mama's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you
Mama won't let anyone dirty get through
Mama's gonna wait up till you get in
Mama will always find out where you've been
Mamma's gonna keep baby healthy and clean

Ooooh, babe, ooooh, babe, ooooh, babe
You'll always be a baby to me

Mother, didn't need to be so high

THE LYRICS ARE HERE, PEOPLE, SO PLEASE DON'T ASK!
Guys, I know this isn't the original album cover, but I think it's an amazing picture, and I believe it represents Pink Floyd's legacy and success throughout these years.

This song was posted as a tribute to Syd Barrett.

    Pink Floyd - Breathe

    3:58

Official audio to Breathe (In The Air) by Pink Floyd

    Lyrics:

    Breathe, breathe in the air
    Don't be afraid to care
    Leave, but don't leave me
    Look around
    Choose your own ground

Long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be

    Run, rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun
And when at last the work is done
    Don't sit down
It's time to dig another one

For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave

Mother's gonna keep you right here under her wing.
She wont let you fly, but she might let you sing.
Mama will keep baby cozy and warm.
Ooooh baby ooooh baby oooooh baby,
Of course mama'll help to build the wall.

Mother do you think she's good enough -- to me?
Mother do you think she's dangerous -- to me?
Mother will she tear your little boy apart?
Mother will she break my heart?

Hush now baby, baby dont you cry.
Mama's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you.
Mama wont let anyone dirty get through.
Mama's gonna wait up until you get in.
Mama will always find out where you've been.
Mama's gonna keep baby healthy and clean.
Ooooh baby oooh baby oooh baby,
You'll always be baby to me.

Mother, did it need to be so high?

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb HD

    6:38

Comfortably Numb is a song by the English rock band Pink Floyd, which first appears on the 1979 double album, The Wall. It was also released as a single in the same year with Hey You as the B-side. It is one of only three songs on the album for which writing credits are shared between Roger Waters and David Gilmour. The melody and most of the music was written by Gilmour while Waters contributed the lyrics and some additional notes. The song had the working title of The Doctor.
The song is one of Pink Floyd's most famous, and is renowned especially for its guitar solos. In 2004, the song was ranked number 314 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In 2005, it was the last song ever to be performed by Waters, Gilmour, Wright, and Mason together. In 2011, the song was ranked 5th in the BBC Radio 4's listeners' Desert Island Discs choices.

Pink Floyd - Coming Back To Life

    6:27

    Lyrics:

Where were you when I was burned and broken
While the days slipped by from my window watching
And where were you when I was hurt and I was helpless
Because the things you say and the things you do surround me
While you were hanging yourself on someone else's words
Dying to believe in what you heard
I was staring straight into the shining sun

Lost in thought and lost in time
While the seeds of life and the seeds of change were planted
Outside the rain fell dark and slow
While I pondered on this dangerous but irresistible pastime

I took a heavenly ride through our silence
I knew the moment had arrived
For killing the past and coming back to life

I took a heavenly ride through our silence
I knew the waiting had begun
And I headed straight..into the shining sun

    12:28

Pink Floyd - Welcome to the Machine

    7:44

Welcome to the Machine is the second song on Pink Floyd's 1975 album Wish You Were Here. The song is said to be inspired by George Orwell's book 1984, in which a man is trying to escape the government which is brainwashing its citizens with TV shows and oppressive rules.

The iconic video was created by Gerald Scarfe initially as a backdrop film for when the band played the track on its 1977 In the Flesh tour.

♫ Pink Floyd - On The Turning Away Lyrics

    5:43

    --- INFO ---

Album: A Momentary Lapse of Reason
    Year: 1987
    Music: Gilmour

    --- LYRICS ---

    On the turning away
    From the pale and downtrodden
    And the words they say
    Which we won't understand
    Don't accept that what's happening
Is just a case of others' suffering
Or you'll find that you're joining in
    The turning away

    It's a sin that somehow
    Light is changing to shadow
    And casting it's shroud
    Over all we have known
Unaware how the ranks have grown
Driven on by a heart of stone
We could find that we're all alone
In the dream of the proud

On the wings of the night
    As the daytime is stirring
    Where the speechless unite
    In a silent accord
Using words you will find are strange
And mesmerized as they light the flame
Feel the new wind of change
On the wings of the night

    No more turning away
From the weak and the weary
    No more turning away
    From the coldness inside
Just a world that we all must share
It's not enough just to stand and stare
Is it only a dream that there'll be
    No more turning away?

♫ Pink Floyd - High Hopes Lyrics

    7:00

    --- INFO ---

    Album: The Division Bell
    Year: 1994
    Music: Gilmour

    --- LYRICS ---

Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun

Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway
Do they still meet there by the Cut

There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay

    The grass was greener
    The light was brighter
    With friends surrounded
    The nights of wonder

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide

At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
    There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many times

    The grass was greener
    The light was brighter
    The taste was sweeter
    The nights of wonder
    With friends surrounded
    The dawn mist glowing
    The water flowing
    The endless river
    Forever and ever

Pink Floyd - Another Brick in The Wall - TelediscoVideoArte

    5:19

Sob a liderança de Barrett, lançaram dois singles (Arnold Layne e See Emily Play) e um bem-sucedido álbum de estreia, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, de 1967.
Com essa formação o Pink Floyd atingiu o sucesso internacional com álbuns como The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals e The Wall.

    Pink Floyd - Marooned HQ

    5:28

Disclaimer: No copyright infringed intented. I do not own anything in the video, everything belongs to their respective owners. This is simply made for the entertainment of fans like myself.

A journey through the Universe accompained by the notes of one of the most amazing David Gilmour' solos...

My new astronomy animation, I hope you like it...
    Credits:

Marooned is an instrumental track on Pink Floyd's 1994 album, The Division Bell; the track won a Grammy Award in 1995.

The piece was written by David Gilmour and Richard Wright. It has sounds that describe the setting as an island (such as seagulls and waves crashing on the shore). It was composed while jamming aboard the Astoria in early 1993. The high-pitch guitar sounds on the track came from a Whammy pedal which makes the guitar sound an octave higher, also known as a pitch shifter. Also in the background can be heard the wailing guitar effects from the original recording of the Pink Floyd song Echoes, which were redubbed onto this song by Gilmour for increased textural effect.

David Gilmour has mentioned that pretty much all of Marooned is improvised and that he probably took three or four passes at it and took the best bits out of each.

The track was given a Grammy Award in the category of Best Rock Instrumental Performance at the Grammy Awards of 1995.

This song has only been played live three times: On the two dates in Oslo, Norway (one of which is featured on the Pulse DVD) on the 1994 The Division Bell tour and at the The Strat Pack charity concert, for the 50th anniversary of the Fender Stratocaster guitar, where Gilmour played his #0001 Stratocaster.

An excerpt of the music is featured on Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd.

Pink Floyd - Us and Them

    7:52

    Us and Them
And after all we're only ordinary men
    Me, and you
God only knows it's not what we would choose to do
Forward he cried from the rear
    and the front rank died
And the General sat, as the lines on the map
    moved from side to side
    Black and Blue
And who knows which is which and who is who
    Up and Down
And in the end it's only round and round and round
Haven't you heard it's a battle of words
    the poster bearer cried
Listen son, said the man with the gun
    There's room for you inside
    Down and Out
It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about
    With, without
And who'll deny that's what the fightings all about
Get out of the way, it's a busy day
And I've got things on my mind
For want of the price of tea and a slice
    The old man died
