True Faith is a song by New Order, co-produced by Stephen Hague.

    Lyrics

    I feel so extraordinary
Something's got a hold on me
I get this feeling I'm in motion
    A sudden sense of liberty
    I don't care 'cause I'm not there
And I don't care if I'm here tomorrow
Again and again I've taken too much
Of the things that cost you too much
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun
When I was a very small boy
Very small boys talked to me
Now that we've grown up together
They're afraid of what they see
That's the price that we all pay
And the value of destiny comes to nothing
    I can't tell you where we're going
I guess there was just no way of knowing
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun
    I feel so extraordinary
Something's got a hold on me
I get this feeling I'm in motion
    A sudden sense of liberty
The chances are we've gone too far
You took my time and you took my money
Now I fear you've left me standing
In a world that's so demanding
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun

The Perfect Kiss is a song by the English alternative dance and rock band New Order. It was recorded at Britannia Row Studios in London and released on 13 May 1985.

    Lyrics

    I stood there beside myself
    Thinking hard about the weather
Then came by a friend of mine
    Suggested we go out together
Then I knew it from the start
This friend of mine would fall apart
Pretending not to see his gun
I said let's go out and have some fun
    I know you know
We believe in a land of love
    I know you know
We believe in a land of love
    I have always thought about
    Staying here and going out
Tonight I should have stayed at home
    Playing with my pleasure zone
He has always been so strange
I'd often thought he was deranged
Pretending not to see his gun
I said let's go out and have some fun
    I know you know
We believe in a land of love
    I know you know
We believe in a land of love
When you are alone at night
You search yourself for all the things
    That you believe are right
If you give it all away
You throw away your only chance to be here today
Then a fight breaks out on your street
You lose another broken heart in a land of meat
My friend, he took his final breath
Now I know the perfect kiss is the kiss of death

New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle Music Video

    3:45

Bizarre Love Triangle is a single released in 1986 by New Order. A version is included on their album Brotherhood.

Though generally regarded as one of the group's best singles, it failed to make the UK Top 40, only reaching #56. It was, however, a surprise hit in Australia, reaching #5 and initiating a string of five consecutive Top 20 hits. In the U.S, the song's popularity has only climbed steadily since 1986 and it is considered a classic in many circles.

In 2004 the song was ranked #201 in Rolling Stone's The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time

Temptation is a stand-alone single released by English band New Order on Factory Records. The single reached #29 on the UK Singles Chart on its release in 1982.

    Lyrics

    Heaven, a gateway, a hope
Just like a feeling inside, it's no joke
And though it hurts me to see you this way
Betrayed by words, I'd never heard, too hard to say
    Up, down, turn around
Please don't let me hit the ground
Tonight I think I'll walk alone
I'll find my soul as I go home
    Up, down, turn around
Please don't let me hit the ground
Tonight I think I'll walk alone
I'll find my soul as I go home
Each way I turn, I know I'll always try
To break this circle that's been placed around me
From time to time, I find I've lost some need
That was urgent to myself, I do believe
    Up, down, turn around
Please don't let me hit the ground
Tonight I think I'll walk alone
I'll find my soul as I go home
    Up, down, turn around
Please don't let me hit the ground
Tonight I think I'll walk alone
I'll find my soul as I go home
    Oh, you've got green eyes
    Oh, you've got blue eyes
    Oh, you've got grey eyes
    Oh, you've got green eyes
    Oh, you've got blue eyes
    Oh, you've got grey eyes
And I've never seen anyone quite like you before
No, I've never met anyone quite like you before
Bolts from above hurt the people down below
People in this world, we have no place to go
Bolts from above hurt the people down below
People in this world, we have no place to go
Bolts from above hurt the people down below
People in this world, we have no place to go
Bolts from above hurt the people down below
People in this world, we have no place to go
    Oh, it's the last time
    Oh, it's the last time
    Oh, it's the last time
    Oh, it's the last time
    Oh, it's the last time
Oh, I've never met anyone quite like you before
Oh no, I've never met anyone quite like you before

New Order's 'Regret', which was the first single off of New Order's 1993 album 'Republic'

    Lyrics

    Maybe I've forgotten
    The name and the address
    Of everyone I've ever known,
    It's nothing I regret
Save it for another day, 'cause
    The school is out
And the kids have run away
I would like a place I can call my own
Have a conversation on my telephone
Wake up everyday, that would be a start
I would not complain 'bout my wounded heart
    I was upset, you see
    Almost all the time
You used to be a stranger
    Now you are mine
    I wouldn't even trust you
I've not that much to give
    We're dealing in the limits,
And we don't know who with
You may think that I'm out of hand
    That I'm naive, I'll understand
On this occasion, it's not true
Look at me, I'm not you
I would like a place I can call my own
Have a conversation on the telephone
Wake up everyday, that would be a start
I would not complain 'bout my wounded heart
    I was a short fuse
    Burning all the time
    You were a complete stranger
    Now you are mine
I would like a place I can call my own
Have a conversation on the telephone
Wake up everyday, that would be a start
I would not complain 'bout my wounded heart
    Just wait 'till tomorrow
I guess that's what they all say
    Just before they fall apart

Round & Round is a song by the English band New Order from their fifth studio album Technique (1989)

    Lyrics

    I just can't help thinking
    What you've done to me
You built a wall of love and tore it right down
    In front of me
And you think you know what's going on
You keep telling me that I am wrong
I don't care about what you do
'Cause if you mess with me I'll get rid of you
The picture you see is no portrait of me
It's too real to be shown to someone I don't know
    And it's driving me wild
It makes me act like a child
You think I am crazy, but what can I do
You waste your time, like my money
It ain't so funny, but it's true
    (Don't waste my money, baby)
Now you can't tell me what's going on
And that I am weak while you are strong
What is it you need, that makes your heart bleed
Do you really know? 'Cause it doesn't show
The picture you see is no portrait of me
It's too real to be shown to someone I don't know
    And it's driving me wild
It makes me act like a child
The picture you see is no portrait of me
It's too real to be shown to someone I don't know
    And it's driving me wild
It makes me act like a child

Crystal is a song by the English rock band New Order. It is one of the band's fastest and most guitar-orientated singles.

    Lyrics

    We're like crystal
    (Hey)
    We break easy
    (Hoo)
    I'm a poor man
    (Hey)
    If you leave me
    (Hoo)
    I'm applauded
    (Hey)
    Then forgotten
    It was summer
    (Hey)
    Now it's autumn
    (Hoo)
I don't know what to say
    You don't care anyway
    I'm a man in a rage
    With a girl I betrayed
    Here comes love
    It's like honey
You can't buy it with money
You shook me to the core
You shook me to the core
    We're like crystal
    (Hey)
    It's not easy
    (Hoo)
    With your love
    (Hey)
    You could feed me
    (Hoo)
    Every man
    (Hey)
    And every woman
    (Hoo)
    Needs someone
    (Hey)
    So keep it coming
    Keep it coming
    Keep it coming
    Keep it coming
    Keep it coming
    Keep it coming
I don't know what to say
    You don't care anyway
    I'm a man in a rage
    With a girl I betrayed
    Here comes love
    It's like honey
You can't buy it with money
    You're not alone anymore
You shook me to the core
You shook me to the core
I don't know what to say
    You don't care anyway
    I'm a man in a rage
    With a girl I betrayed

This is why events unnerve me,
They find it all, a different story,
Notice whom for wheels are turning,
Turn again and turn towards this time,
All she ask's the strength to hold me,
Then again the same old story,
World will travel, oh so quickly,
Travel first and lean towards this time.

Oh, I'll break them down, no mercy shown,
Heaven knows, it's got to be this time,
Watching her, these things she said,
    The times she cried,
Too frail to wake this time.

Oh I'll break them down, no mercy shown
Heaven knows, it's got to be this time,
    Avenues all lined with trees,
Picture me and then you start watching,
    Watching forever, forever,
    Watching love grow, forever,
    Letting me know, forever.

Bizarre Love Triangle is a song by the English rock band New Order, released as a single in 1986 from their fourth studio album, Brotherhood (1986), which reached the top five on the US Hot Dance Music/Club Play Singles chart, and No. 5 on the Australian ARIA Charts (No. 1 on the Victoria state chart) in March 1987.

    Lyrics

What does this ship bring to me
    Far across the restless sea
    Waiting for the sirens' call
I've never seen it here before
There she plies a lonely trade
    Cutting through the breaking waves
    Drifting slowly from her course
    She is lost forever more
We all want some kind of love
    But sometimes it's not enough
To the wall and through the door
With a stranger on the shore
    I won't desert you
I don't know what to say
    I really hurt you
I nearly gave it all away
    I've got it all wrong
Cause you were not the wrong one
And I don't know where to turn when you're gone
    When you're gone
    Gotta catch the midnight train
First to Paris then to Spain
    Travel with a document
    All across the continent
    City life is flying by
The wheels are turning all the while
Get on board we can't be late
    Our destination cannot wait
All the stars and all the worlds
    Filling up this universe
Could never be as close as us
Will never shine as bright on us
    I won't desert you
I don't know what to say
    I really hurt you
I nearly gave it all away
    I've got it all wrong
Cause you were not the wrong one
And I don't know where to turn when you're gone
    When you're gone
    I won't desert you
I don't know what to say
    I really hurt you
I nearly gave it all away
    I've got it all wrong
Cause you were not the wrong one
And I don't know where to turn when you're gone
How many times must I lose my way, hey
How many words do I have to say, hey
What can I do just to make you see

New order Bizarre Love Triangle Subtitulado Español Inglés

    6:42

Live at Maxwell's, Hoboken, New Jersey, USA (September 20, 1980). Soundboard recording.

    Bernard Sumner
    Peter Hook
    Stephen Morris

Another recently released JD/NO recording, on another bootleg. This time, we got a soundboard recording of a 1980 New Order show, right after Ian's suicide and before Gillian Gilbert joined the band. This gig took place during the first American tour.

This period was notable for the fact all three members of the band would take turns singing the songs. Thus, you get singing from everyone. I'm sad to say neither Peter or Stephen sing that well, here, haha, but it's a marvel to hear them nonetheless. Peter got MUCH better at singing later on, and Stephen sang better on the Western Works demos.

Here's a list of who sings what song, near as I can tell:

In a Lonely Place: Bernard (main vocals), Peter (ending line of each verse)
    Cries and Whispers: Peter
    Hour: Peter
    Procession: Stephen
    Truth: Stephen
    Mesh: Peter
    Dreams Never End: Peter
Ceremony: Bernard (This is the last song), Stephen (main verses), Peter (chorus)

In a Lonely Place features a drum machine. I'm not sure who's playing the synth or who's playing the melodica. My GUESS is that Bernard is playing the melodica, while Stephen is playing the synth, which is really weird to imagine.

Cries and Whispers has prominent synth work, which I REALLY love. Martin Hannett ruined the studio version by mixing it too low, in my opinion.

Hour is a previously unreleased/unknown song. The track title comes from Rob Gretton's notebooks. Further info about this song is unavailable, but it was obviously abandoned without much thought in 1980. It SORTA sounds like Sister Ray, but the drums are different and the lyrics SEEM to be different. Too bad you can't really hear the vocals...

Procession is really fascinating, here. This version is much shorter than other versions, features absolutely beautiful synth work, and it features the drum machine (so that Stephen can sing). This is a GREAT version of the song, and I wish there were more versions like this. Fun fact: Stephen composed the song and there exists a rehearsal version of the song (dated 1980 but was probably recorded even earlier than this) with Stephen also on vocals.

Truth resembles the Western Works version, although the drum machine is a bit more intense. It sounds like it's mimicking rain.

Mesh is in early form, here. It features a noticeably different arrangement (fit for three people instead of the eventual four) and far different lyrics.

Dreams Never End resembles the Western Works version. The initial drum cymbal work is the same and the lyrics are also far different than the later Movement album version.

Ceremony has some different guitar work on it (could be intentional, or just Bernard badly fucking it up). This version does NOT resemble the Western Works version much.

Overall, a wonderful gig. I wish the quality was just a little bit better (I'm sure there's a better source of a better lineage out there somewhere), but the originality shines through. It's a marvel where New Order would eventual go...

    Enjoy!

Blue Monday is a song by the British rock band New Order. It was released as a 12-inch single on 7 March 1983 through Factory Records and later as a 7-inch single through Tonpress in 1985.

    Lyrics

How does it feel to treat me like you do?
When you've laid your hands upon me and told me who you are
I thought I was mistaken, I thought I heard your words
Tell me how do I feel
Tell me now, how do I feel
Those who came before me lived through their vocations
From the past until completion, they'll turn away no more
And still I find it so hard to say what I need to say
But I'm quite sure that you'll tell me just how I should feel today
I see a ship in the harbor
    I can and shall obey
But if it wasn't for your misfortune, I'd be a heavenly person today
And I thought I was mistaken, and I thought I heard you speak
Tell me, how do I feel
Tell me now, how should I feel
    Now I stand here waiting
I thought I told you to leave me when I walked down to the beach
Tell me how does it feel, when your heart grows cold, grows cold, cold
