  • Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep - Mac & Katie Kissoon Music Video

    2:54

Mac & Katie Kissoon were the Donny & Marie of 1971. A brother and sister act from England, they flew up the US charts with this song while laying an egg in their own country. Compared to most artists, their careers went in an opposite direction as they went from fronting their own vocals to backing others. It seems they overcame their abandonment issues as they are still going strong nearly forty years on.

    5:09

November 2002 - The Robbie Williams Show, Pinewood Studios, London.
The Robbie Williams Show is a live concert recorded in 2002 before the release of Robbie Williams's from his 5th album Escapology. In this video he sings Revolution with talented backing singer Katie Kissoon.

    Revolution

    [Robbie]
    Don't fight the feeling relax
Oh child the knots are in your back
    'Cause you've been holding on
I can only feel you when you're reaching out

    [Katie]
    I'll talk you through memories
    Just keep breathing with me
It's time to hold my hand
    And walk into the revolution

    [Robbie]
    When there's no-one to touch
And you've been thinking too much
You only hurt yourself when it's all about retribution

    [Katie ]
I see the pain in your face
And you're paying rent for the space
It's time to lead you on, come on it's a revolution

    [Robbie]
When you can't keep on keeping on
And everything you lean upon is all but gone
Everybody falls sometimes but love shines on
With the flame in your heart
    And pain in your eyes
i'm Gonna lead you to the revolution

A million miles with one step [Katie]
And you'll find yourself yet [Robbie]
    Walking to the revolution [Robbie]

Get on Get on Get on [Katie]
    walking with the revolution [Robbie]
Get it on Get it on Get it on [Katie]
    walking with the revolution [Robbie]

Love lingers on you're just feeling it wrong [Robbie]
I know you're tired but when it's time to sleep [Robbie]
    You're gone forever [Robbie]
Make friends with your past [Katie]
Then you can leave it at last [Katie]
It's time to find yourself walking with the revolution [Katie]

When you can't keep on keeping on [Robbie]
And everything you lean upon is all but gone [Robbie]
Everybody falls sometimes but love shines on [Robbie]

    [Robbie]
With the flame in your heart
    And pain in your eyes
i'm Gonna lead you to the revolution
A million miles with one step [Katie]
And you'll find yourself yet [Robbie]

  • CHIRPY CHIRPY CHEEP CHEEP--MAC & KATIE KISSOON

    2:56

I've had requests for this oldies classic from 1970. Trinidadian brother-and-sister duo Mac and Katie Kissoon. While it is unclear which group Stott offered his song to first, Mac and Katie Kissoon produced their cover version first. Middle of the Road's version then initially became a hit in continental Europe only, but later grew in popularity in the United Kingdom. In the UK, it reportedly got a boost from DJ Tony Blackburn, who favored this version over the previously produced version by Mac and Katie Kissoon.

The song has been covered in many languages, including Catalan, Vietnamese, Khmer, Korean, Spanish and German. A Spanish language version was done by Middle of the Road[15] followed by another version by Dolores Vargas.[16] German versions were by Hajo[17] and Mickie Krause who performed a dance song to the same tune, Reiss die Hütte ab (Tear The Hut Down) (Apres Ski Hits 2003). Koivistolaiset sang Finnish language version with lyrics from Vexi Salmi.

The song was dismissed by critics[who?] as bubblegum at the time, a view initially held by band leader Ken Andrews: We were as disgusted with the thought of recording it as most people were at the thought of buying it. But at the end of the day, we liked it.[citation needed]

In 2006 Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep topped a list of unintentionally creepy songs in the Observer [3]. Despite its popular appeal and popular chorus, the song has a theme of child abandonment.

  • Mac & Katie Kissoon - Freedom

    2:24

I'm going down by the riverside
    gonna wash away my troubles
    in the noonday tide
the taxman's coming and he wants his dues
but the only way to catch me
    is to wet his shoes
    I found my freedom
    a paradise meant for me
I found my freedom, I found my freedom
Da dada 'n dee dee dee

Hold my head up and look to the sun
I found a new place where I don't have to run
No one to find me in my restricted zone
'Caus I left my address as a place unknown

    Remember all the people
    living tired and down
You got to leave the city
    or you're sure to drown
    Make a goog for freedom
    and be sure to find
you find yourself a good life
    and your peace of mind
