    The Song from Moulin Rouge (also known as Where Is Your Heart)
    First appeared in the 1952 film The Moulin Rouge with Jose Ferrer as
    Toulouse- Lautrec

    Lyrics

    Whenever we kiss
    I worry and wonder
    Your lips may be near
    But where is your heart?

    It's always like this
    I worry and wonder
    You're close to me here
    But where is your heart?

    It's a sad thing to realise
    That you've a heart that never melts
    When we kiss, do you close your eyes
    Pretending that I'm someone else?

    You must break the spell
    This cloud that I'm under
    Please won't you tell
    Darling, where is your heart?

  • Lita Roza - What Am I Supposed To Do - Columbia DEMO

    2:27

    Ivor Raymonde is a producer who was used to working with ladies had the power to emit an explosive vocal. He of course guided the likes of Dusty Springfield on many of her standout performances. Likewise with the much recorded but comparatively unsuccessful Lita Roza Mr. Raymonde lays down a full orchestra arrangement to compliment Ms. Roza’s booming vocal.
    Holly St. James style kettle-drums open the proceedings with a cooing girl-group embellishing the backing as banks of strings and blaring trumpets build up the Northern Soul backing.
    Big vocals - Big productions you cannot ignore them, especially when the two aspects are equally matched.
    This irresistible 1965 UK Red & White DEMO is is sparkling condition, close vinyl inspection reveals only a few hairline blemishes under light - the Red & White label has the radio station time written in biro 2’ 17” - and the file # to the right (see scan)
    Incredibly rare offering that most British dedicates will be unable to boast of ownership of this vital 45.

  • Lita Roza - Keep Watch Over Him

    2:36

    Fairly rare Columbia single from Lita Roza recorded in the autumn of her career. Keep Watch Over Him was co-written by Len Beadle a stalwart music publisher, arranger and one quarter of the UK late 50's early 60's group The Raindrops. He had also penned songs for Adam Faith, Gene Pitney and composed the theme for the children's tv show 'Adventures of Rupert Bear' (1971). Lita's recording career was mainly with Decca (55 singles and 78s, three EP's and 4 LP albums) of which quite a few of those were recorded with the brilliant Ted Heath band. She also recorded songs for both the Ember and Pye labels. Just four titles were recorded for the Columbia (EMI) label of which Keep Watch Over Him was the first one in September 1965. The arrangement for this track was by the talented Ivor Raymonde.

    2:14

    Upload #1498 ~ HQ from UK 45 pictured ~~ Perfect Popcorn Northern Dancer, this is the same Lita Roza who had a UK 1953 #1 with How Much Is That Doggie In The Window'. She did another Soul Styled 45 in 1965... What Am I Supposed To Do/Where Do I Go From Here on Columbia DB 7785, if it's more Brash than this Subtle Gem. A side is Keep Watch Over Him a dated Pop ballad more big voiced if it's a bit Soulful, Kathy Kirby style. Backing group likely The Ladybirds who add a dreamy sound. This track here is currently an Unknown. Maybe your Granny bought it for the A side?

    ~~~ We first found this earlier this year. Totally Blind Buy. To hear her other Columbia on YT but not know what this is. 'Dwayne Detroit wrote another track we put on YT & it's a Soul one by 'Pat Wayne' ... A side, naah. B side, that's nice.
    Her 1962 Ember Ruth Brown cover is interesting, more Big Band than R&B Popcorn though...
