The Aga Khan Music Initiative promotes traditional music as part of a broader programme of development that encompasses the physical, social, cultural and economic revitalization of communities in the Muslim world.

Music of Central Asia ( the Aga Khan Music Initiatives panoramic 10-volume audio-visual survey of contemporary tradition-based music from Central Eurasia, produced in conjunction with Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, is part of these efforts.

    Our site is
The film is devoted to the meeting of two cultures -- Tajik and Uzbek -- in the Pejikent district of Tajikistan near the border of Uzbekistan. Cultures of both peoples are quite different and the history of their relationship is full of conflicts. The other made an attempt to show folk part of culture of these peoples -- their music is so similar and full of common values and life expiriencces. Rural musicians -- Tajik and Uzbek -- sing their songs, and after that meet to sing together.

  • KANGNA - Farsi to Urdu translated Qawwali Music

    1:25

Kangna - A very nice Qawwali song from CokeStudio based on Pakistani classical music. In this clip I translated the poetry from Persian (Farsi) to Urdu.

Poet: Mirza Muhammad Hassan Khan Qateel (محمد حسن خان قتیل)
Singer : Farid Ayyaz, Abu Muhammad Qawwal

    | Farsi Lyrics |

Ma Ra Ba Ghamzeh Kusht Wa Qaza Ra Bahane Saakht
Khud Suye Ma Na Dee o Hayaa Ra Bahane Saakht
Bar Dosh Gher Dast Nehad Az Rahe Karam
Ma Ra Jo Deed, Laghzish-e-Paa Ra Bahane Saakht

    Urdu Translation |

    Apni Adaa Se Qatal Kar Ke Taqdeer Ka Bahana Kar Diya;
Khud Hamari Janib Nahi Dekha aur Haya ka Bahana Kar Diya.
    Ghair Ke Kaandhe Par Mohobat Se Haath Rakha;
Hamein Dekh Kar Paon Phisalne Ka Bahana Kar Diya.

    1 Drum Beat 100 Songs

Subscribe to my channel or I will upload only Nickelback covers:

If You Hear This When You Drum Roll, Get Help:

1 beat, used in 100 songs? Actually, I could have made this a lot longer. The songs start at 0:42. A lot of you have asked me to upload drum covers over the years. This has always been a teaching channel, not a drum cover channel. But, I think we can do both in this case. The Money Beat, as it has been referred to, has been used on COUNTLESS popular songs. 1 beat used as the foundation for most of modern pop, rock, country, CCM, and so much more. As a drum teacher, this is the first drum beat I teach drummers. Why? Because there are so many songs that they can play if they simply master this one beat. And their first question? What's a song that uses this drum beat? Well, where do I start?

So here's 1 beat that is used in some part of these 100 songs. And on a sidenote, recording this in one take was the musical equivalent of a seizure.

Mad props and thanks to Tim Buell for his effort on this video. Couldn't have done it without ya buddy!

Leave a comment below and let me know what your favorite song out of the 100 was!

Coke Studio Season 10| Episode 2
An original folk-centric number, Tinak Dhin depicts the rhythm of the life, both lyrically and musically. Ali Hamza’s debut as a music director on Coke Studio proves to be an audio-visual feast as we see a power trio take the stage. The energy of three unique voices comes together in a confluence of energy; Hamza’s smoky voice, Sethi’s charming finesse and Ehsin’s textured versatility merge upon the playful, low-ends of the kanjira, upbeat mandolin and crisp sitar to create an exciting score for the hopeful.

LOVE IS THE ONLY RIVER – TRINITY & IAN SLOANE

    Verse 1
We are one love one race
We all come from the same place
We all live in this world together
    It doesn’t matter who’s right
    It doesn’t matter who’s wrong
If we don’t all get along much better
    Show each other more respect
    Then maybe we could connect
And stop taking all these things for granted
You think that you’re all alone
But we all share the same home
Let’s join together and save the planet
    Pre-Chorus
    If you love the world
    It’ll love you back
    No matter who are you
    No matter where you’re at
    If you love the world
    It’ll love you back
    No matter who are you
    No matter where you’re at
    Chorus
    Love is the only river
    Holding the world together
    Love is the only river
    We’re all in this together
    Verse 2
We are the ones who can change
We all are one and the same
We are the ones who can turn the tide
    Doesn’t matter who we are
Cause hand in hand we’ll go far
Let’s get together and show our pride
And if we all do our part
A new era we can start
Never forget that you’re not alone
We’re taking the world by storm
We’re proud of how we were born
One love is all you need
One love is all you need

    Pre-Chorus
    Chorus
    Bridge
    Peace and unity
    Between you and me
    It’s all we’ll ever need
    It’s all we’ll ever need
    Peace and unity
    Between you and me
    It’s all we’ll ever need
    It’s all we’ll ever need
