Classical guitars are our passion! We are specialized in the highest quality concert guitars as well as historic guitars from around the world. Our passion for these unique instruments and the joy to give guitarists, passionate players, and collectors the possibility to purchase their own appropriate instrument is the motivation that drives us. Another focus is to work closely with established and young, largely unknown luthiers. Together we want to develop new ideas and share experiences with our customers.

You will also find almost all the classical music composers that wrote for the classical guitar. Make sure to discover Agustin Barrios Mangoré, Manuel Maria Ponce, Heitor Villa-Lobos and many more if you don't know their compositions already

Jim Redgate is a highly sought-after Australian luthier, known for his guitars built for artists such as Ana Vidovic, Pepe Roméro and Odair Assad. This lattice-braced model is an exact copy of the guitar that Ana Vidovic plays. Jim Redgate’s instruments have their own sound and touch. The breath-taking volume combined with rich harmonics and impressive clarity of sound are quite unique. The playability is fantastic, and the guitars are relatively light in weight compared to the Australian standard.
We’ve of course heard Ana Vidovic in concert many times playing on a Redgate guitar, but this guitar convinced us even more of the quality of Jim’s work. The honesty and spontaneity of each note, the magnificent volume, the ease of playing, and the unique sound character of this guitar make it an instrument not only rare in Europe, but above all extremely enchanting.

The Mandolina Ljubljana Orchestra is the only ensemble in Slovenia, whose members have chosen the mandolin as their companion on their musical journey. In Slovenia, the mandolin has only recently been given a more significant role in various musical styles, from classical to pop. We, the members of the orchestra feel honoured and obligated to make the audience more familiar with this mellifluous plucked string instrument and to bring to their ears genuine mandolin music. In our repertoire there are also compositions written by classical composers, arrangements of folk tunes, film music and evergreens. We have had numerous successful appearances at home and abroad in more than thirty years of our performing. This, good critics and more and more satisfied audiences, assure us that we are on the right path.

  • Izolda & Vlado - Ciao amore

    3:02

Izolda i Vlado - Ljubavna priča br. 1 (Jugovizija 1984)
(Original studio version of Ciao amore)
    Music: Slobodan Bučevac.
    Lyrics: Milan Perić.
    Arrangement: Mato Došen.
    Audio (c) RTV Titograd 1984

This is the studio recording of the version of the song as performed at the Yugoslav finals for the Eurovision Song Contest 1984. Jugovizija 84 was held on March 23rd at the Universal Hall in Skopje, hosted by Liljana Krsteva and Blagoja Krstevski. The winning song was chosen from a selection of 16 songs, by the votes of 8 regional juries. Each TV studio competed with 2 songs. Ljubavna priča br. 1 won the national contest, It was later renamed Ciao amore, the bridge was changed and the arrangement was slightly altered. Furthermore, bells were added to the arrangement for the performance in Luxemburg. However, that didn't help a lot, nor Izolda's topless bit in the preview video. Ciao amore finished second last in Luxemburg.

But this is not the first version of the song. Here is the story. At that time all authors could submit their songs only to the TV Studio in the republic of their residence. Also, the deadline for submission was different to each TV Studio. The first version of Ciao amore was called Moja najmilija and it was submitted to TV Zagreb with Đorđe Novković and Zrinko Tutić credited as authors. Đorđe Novković also submitted Oh, ne, cherie (Rendez-vous) and Mary Ann (Alen Slavica). Non of his songs were accepted and he re-submitted them to the studios that were still running the concours. Those three songs were accpted at Titograd, Ljubljana and Priština, respectively, but with authors from those Republics credited. Novković was later added on the list of authors on the album releases on Oh, ne, cherie and Mary Ann, but not to Ciao amore who was credited to Slobodan Bučevac and Milan Perić, probably due to legal reasons. After the competition TV Zagreb broadcasted a special show in which some of their rejects were presented. Among them were: Izolda i Vlado - Moja najmilija (Ciao amore), Rendez-vous - Oh, ne, cherie, Alen Slavica - Mary Ann, Darko Domijan - Lucille (all 4 by Novković), Novi Fosili - Valentino i Renato...

Vlado Kalember is a Croatian pop singer, famous for his recognisable, husky voice. In the 1970s, he was the vocalist of the popular pop band Srebrna Krila. After leaving the band, he continued with a solo career. In 1984, together with Izolda Barudžija, he represented Yugoslavia at the Eurovision Song Contest. (CIao Amore). He was also a member of 4 Asa. He is married to the cellist Ana Rucner. His biggest successes are Vino na usnama, Ja nisam kockar, Ana, Lili, Otkad si otišla, Ja odavde, ona s juga, Odoh u mornare...

Izolda Barudžija is a singer from former Yugoslavia born in Split. She was a member of the Belgrade vocal group Pop Polifonija, from which the trio Aska was extracted, They became the Yugoslav enrants to the Eurovision Song Contest 1982 (Halo, halo). In 1983, she and her sister Eleonora were Daniel Popović's backing vocals/dancers. Their song Julie won the 4th place and became a big hit. In a third year in a row, in 1984, she and Vlado Kalember sung Ciao Amore at the Eurovision Song Contest, in Luxemburg. The preview video for Ciao Amore was not broadcast on Turkish state television because Barudžija appeared bathing topless. However, they got their highest votes from Turkey (8 points). Izolda participated at Opatija 1984 just before she won Jugovizija 84 and at Split 84. Izolda and Vlado sang at a music festival in Bodrum, Turkey in the summer of that year.

From 1995 Izolda started singing in duet with her sister Eleonora and together they had few festival appearances, the most memorable was Mesam 1986, with Opet Beograd, which won the Jury Award and the SOKOJ (Union of Yugoslav Composers) Award, and as far as i remember, their last appearance together was at the Eurovision Finals of scattered Yugoslavia in 1992.

Izolda married the Serbian musician Zlatko Manojlović and together they released an album under the name Vox. Manojlović wrote the music, while the lyrics were written by both of them. In 1998, they released the another Vox album, with some songs featuring Manojlović playing sitar.

Johann Sebastian Bach (31 March [O.S. 21 March] 1685 – 28 July 1750) was a German composer and musician of the Baroque period. Bach enriched established German styles through his mastery of counterpoint, harmonic and motivic organisation, and his adaptation of rhythms, forms, and textures from abroad, particularly from Italy and France. Bach's compositions include hundreds of cantatas, both sacred and secular. He composed Latin church music, Passions, oratorios and motets. He often adopted Lutheran hymns, not only in his larger vocal works, but for instance also in his four-part chorales and his sacred songs. He wrote extensively for organ and for other keyboard instruments. He composed concertos, for instance for violin and for harpsichord, and suites, as chamber music as well as for orchestra. Many of his works employ the genres of canon and fugue.

The Children’s and Youth Choir «Sophia» was founded as a church choir by its current director, Ms. Olga Roussakova. More than 100 children between the ages of 6 and 18 now participate in the choir’s programs, which includes learning Old Russian, liturgical chant, sacred folk songs, concert music, etc.

The choir sings at weekly liturgical services and performs regularly in concert. The ensemble has performed at various national and international festivals in Russia, the Far East, Northern Europe and throughout Switzerland.

Only for Education and Entertainment;-)Sweet Georgia Brown-Jazz Standard by Ben & Maceo in 1925 cover prof.Miki 2019 Sweet Georgia Brown is a jazz standard and pop tune composed in 1925 by Ben Bernie and Maceo Pinkard, with lyrics by Kenneth Casey.

Reportedly Ben Bernie came up with the concept for the song's lyrics – although he is not the accredited lyricist – after meeting Dr. George Thaddeus Brown in New York City: Dr. Brown, a longtime member of the State House of Representatives for Georgia, told Bernie about Dr. Brown's daughter Georgia Brown and how subsequent to the baby girl's birth on August 11, 1911 the Georgia General Assembly had issued a declaration that she was to be named Georgia after the state, an anecdote which would be directly referenced by the song's lyric: Georgia claimed her – Georgia named her.

The tune was first recorded on March 19, 1925, by bandleader Ben Bernie, resulting in a five-week number one for Ben Bernie and his Hotel Roosevelt Orchestra.

One of the most popular versions of Sweet Georgia Brown was recorded in 1949 by Brother Bones and His Shadows and later adopted as the theme song of the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team in 1952.
Jazz standards are musical compositions that are an important part of the musical repertoire of jazz musicians, in that they are widely known, performed, and recorded by jazz musicians, and widely known by listeners. There is no definitive list of jazz standards, and the list of songs deemed to be standards changes over time. Songs included in major fake book publications (sheet music collections of popular tunes) and jazz reference works offer a rough guide to which songs are considered standards.

Not all jazz standards were written by jazz composers. Many are originally Tin Pan Alley popular songs, Broadway show tunes or songs from Hollywood musicals – the Great American Songbook. In Europe, jazz standards and fake books may even include some traditional folk songs (such as in Scandinavia) or pieces of ethnic music (such as gypsy melodies) that have been played with a jazz feel by well known jazz players. A commonly played song can only be considered a jazz standard if it is widely played among jazz musicians. The jazz standard repertoire has some overlap with blues and pop standards.

The most recorded jazz standard was W. C. Handy's St. Louis Blues for over 20 years from the 1930s onward, after which Hoagy Carmichael's Stardust replaced it.Today, the place is held by Body and Soul by Johnny Green. The most recorded standard composed by a jazz musician is Thelonious Monk's 'Round Midnight Prof.Miki(1975)Serbian New Age Composer Equipment;-)Casio Cz-5000(1985)Phase Distortion Synthesizer

The piece received its premiere in a concert entitled An Experiment in Modern Music, which was held on February 12, 1924, in Aeolian Hall, New York, by Whiteman and his band with Gershwin playing the piano.

    DykeAppella Medley: Lesbian Picnic +3
    Compiled by JD Doyle

As I produce a show called Queer Music Heritage, you might expect that I love to honor the work of artists & musicians who did great work, but just did not, in my opinion, get the credit or exposure they deserved. The group DykeAppella fits that description, and they did it with only one album released. Out of Madison, Wisconsin, and recorded in 1997 the album At the Gates of Heaven I think is simply wonderful. I love harmony and also very out-of-the closet music, so this CD was for me a given. I plucked four songs from it and put them into a medley:

Lesbian Picnic (original written by Bratton/Kennedy, updated lyrics by Kathy Younger)
Teenaged Lesbian (written by Kate Canon, 1981; also recorded by Judy Fjell in 1993)
Hollywood Haircut (written & recorded by Judy Reagan, 1983)
Sit on My Face (source unknown; but a definite crowd-pleaser; a hidden track on the CD)

DykeAppella was: Tara Ayres, Normajean Bunton,
Nancy Gerber, Emily Jones and Tess Meuer. Their farewell concert was in 2001.

Alas, the only graphics I had to use was the CD packaging.

  • The fields of Athenry, Irish song

    4:29

Irish are great composers... they can make you feel as they feel. This song was written in the 70's by Pete St. John. It is an Irish folk ballad set during the Great Irish famine about a man (Michael) from near Athenry who was been sentenced to transportation to Botany Bay (Australia), for stealing food for his starving family.
As always, I loved to sing it. Hope you will enjoy as much as I did

  • Deejay RT - All The Things They Said

    6:54

The roots of ambient music go back to the early 20th century. In particular, the period just before and after the first world war gave rise to two significant Art Movements that encouraged experimentation with various musical (and non musical) forms, while rejecting more conventional, tradition-bound styles of expression. These art movements were called Futurism and Dadaism. Aside from being known for their painters and writers, these movements also attracted experimental and 'anti-music' musicians such as Francesco Balilla Pratella of the pre-war Futurism movement and Kurt Schwitters and Erwin Schulhoff of the post-war Dadaist movement. The latter movement played an influential role in the musical development of Erik Satie.

As an early 20th century French composer, Erik Satie utilised such Dadaist-inspired explorations to create an early form of ambient / background music that he labeled furniture music (Musique d'ameublement). This he described as being the sort of music that could be played during a dinner to create a background atmosphere for that activity, rather than serving as the focus of attention. From this greater historical perspective, Satie is the link between these early Art movements and the work of Brian Eno, who as an art school trained musician, had an appreciation of both the music and art worlds.

Alongside these early developments, more conventional forms of music began to take note of such experimentation and in turn gave rise to future influence of ambient in the work of modernists composers such as John Cage and Morton Feldman as well as minimalist composers such as La Monte Young, Terry RileyPhilip Glass, and Steve Reich.Douglas Leedy's Entropical Paradise, released as a three LP set by Seraphim in 1971, consisting of six, side-long, compositions of environmental music, in which single modular synthesizer settings were allowed to play out without further intervention.

Brian Eno is generally credited with coining the term Ambient Music in the mid-1970s to refer to music that, as he stated, can be either actively listened to with attention or as easily ignored, depending on the choice of the listener, and that exists on the cusp between melody and texture.Eno, who describes himself as a non-musician, termed his experiments in sound as treatments rather than as traditional performances. Eno used the word ambient to describe music that creates an atmosphere that puts the listener into a different state of mind; having chosen the word based on the Latin term ambire, to surround.

The album notes accompanying Eno's 1978 release Ambient 1: Music for Airports include a manifesto describing the philosophy behind his Ambient music: Ambient Music must be able to accommodate many levels of listening attention without enforcing one in particular; it must be as ignorable as it is interesting.

Eno has acknowledged the influence of Erik Satie and John Cage. In particular, Eno was aware of Cage's use of chance such as throwing the I Ching to directly affect the creation of a musical composition. Eno then utilised a similar method of weaving randomness into his compositional structures. This approach was manifested in Eno's creation of Oblique Strategies, where he used a set of specially designed cards to create various sound dilemmas that in turn, were resolved by exploring various open ended paths, until a resolution to the musical composition revealed itself. Eno also acknowledged influences of the drone music of La Monte Young (of whom he said, La Monte Young is the daddy of us all and of the mood music of Miles Davis and Teo Macero, especially their 1974 epic piece, He Loved Him Madly, about which Eno wrote, that piece seemed to have the 'spacious' quality that I was after...it became a touchstone to which I returned frequently.

Beyond the major influence of Brian Eno, other musicians and bands added to the growing nucleus of music that evolved around the development of Ambient Music. While not an exhaustive list, one cannot ignore the parallel influences of Wendy Carlos, who produced the original music piece called Timesteps which was then used as the filmscore to Clockwork Orange, as well as her later work Sonic Seasonings. Other significant artists such as Mike Oldfield, Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis have all added to or directly influenced the evolution of Ambient music. Adding to these individual artists, works by groups such as Pink Floyd, through their albums Ummagumma : Meddle and Obscured by Clouds. Other groups including Yes with their album Tales from Topographic Oceans , the Hafler Trio and Kraftwerk have all added distinctive aspects to the growing and diversified genre of Ambient Music.

  • Top 30 Greatest Songs 1940-1949

    13:57

In the US, by the late 1930s and early 1940s, swing music had become the most popular musical style and remained so for several years, until it was supplanted in the late 1940s by the pop standards sung by the crooners who grew out of the big band Swing Era tradition. Bandleaders such as the Dorsey Brothers often helped launch the careers of vocalists who went on to popularity as solo artists, such as Frank Sinatra, who rose to fame as a singer during this time.In the 1940s, pure jazz began to become more popular, along with the blues, with artists like Ella Fitzgerald (A-Tisket, A-Tasket) and Billie Holiday (Strange Fruit) becoming nationally successful.

Goran Bregović (Горан Бреговић), born March 22, 1950 is a Yugoslav musician from Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the most recognizable modern composers of the Balkans.
    GORAN GREGOVIC
Born in Sarajevo of a Serbian mother and a Croatian father. After a few years of (very unenthusiastic) music studies at the conservatory (violin), Goran forms his first group The White Button at the age of sixteen. Goran Bregovic's music marries sounds of a gypsy brass band with traditional Bulgarian polyphonies, those of an electric guitar and traditional percussion with a curious rock accent.. all against a background of a bedevilled string orchestra and deep sonorities of a male choir, creating music that our soul recognises instinctively and the body greets with an irresistible urge to dance.

    GORAN BREGOVIC - EMIR KUSTURICA
The music for Emir Kusturica's Underground, Palme d'Or at the 1995 Cannes Film Festival, was also signed by Goran Bregovic. But not the following film. A three year collaboration on Underground has worn everyone out and Emir Kusturica has to find a whole new team for his next film White Cat Black Cat.
