    Lyrics:
I’m not ready to be just another of your mistakes

I can’t seem to drown you out long enough
I fell victim to the sound of your love
You’re like a song that I ain’t ready to stop
I got nothing but you on my mind

I’m not ready to be just another of your mistakes
Don’t want to let the pieces fall out of place
I was only just a breath removed from going to waste
Till I found salvation in the form of your

    Chorus
    Your Grace
    Your Grace
    Your Grace
    Don’t take it away
    Your Grace
    Your Grace
    Your Grace
    Don’t take it away

On the verge of almost bleeding you out
Are we to wounded now to ever come down
Oh how I long for us to find common ground
I got nothing but you on my mind

I’m not ready to be just another of your mistakes
Don’t want to let the pieces fall out of place
I was only just a breath removed from going to waste
Till I found salvation in the form of your

    Chorus

Way too close to colour your comfort
All dressed up but kept undercover
Way too close to colour your comfort
All dressed up but kept undercover

    Your Grace
    Your Grace
    Your Grace
    Don’t take it away

I’m not ready to be just another of your mistakes
Don’t want to let the pieces fall out of place
I was only just a breath removed from going to waste
Till I found salvation in the form of your

  • ♫ Scottish Bagpipes - Scots Wha Hae ♫

    1:32

'Scots Wha Hae' played on the famous Scottish Bagpipes.

Scots Wha Hae is a patriotic song of Scotland which served for centuries as an unofficial national anthem of the country, but has lately been largely supplanted by Scotland the Brave and Flower of Scotland.

The lyrics were written by Robert Burns in 1793, in the form of a speech given by Robert the Bruce before the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314, where Scotland maintained its sovereignty from the Kingdom of England. Although the lyrics are by Burns, he wrote them to the traditional Scottish tune 'Hey Tuttie Tatie' which, according to tradition, was played by Bruce's army at the Battle of Bannockburn, and by the Franco-Scots army at the Siege of Orleans.

Meaning / Story behind the song:
When we first heard Rachel Platten's Fight Song we were inspired by its message. In a world where we too often talk about our differences, we have at least one thing in common. We all struggle. Not in the same way, nor at the same level, but we all want a fighting chance. And we all share in one gift: The will to make the most of our lives. To take what we've been given and turn it into something better could be considered the sentient measuring stick of success. But to do so seldom is simple and more often requires we fight. Not against each other. But against the current threatening to drown the ambition in us.

There is a tremendous purpose in struggle. It is when the struggle becomes so fierce that we must fight to swim or sink. John Newton, who penned Amazing Grace, worked on a slave trader ship and condoned inhuman atrocities. As his ship was on the verge of being torn apart in a violent storm he called out for Grace. Once his feet were again planted on firm soil he determined to change. His covenant was written into these words,

I once was lost, but now I'm found; was blind, but now I see.

Grace is the defining moment when we face and fight a monster poised to define us or destroy us.

This song and video for us were a struggle, but a beautifully defining one. We chose the Scottish culture to depict the dichotomy between Grace and struggle. Who else is tough enough and yet delicate enough to don a kilt in battle? And the Scottish pipe and drum are the ultimate conveyors of melody and cadence. One represents Grace, the other the indomitable fight. Our dream was to film one of the most iconic castles on the Earth, Eilean Donan Castle in Dornie, Scotland.

Grace somehow made this video possible. We had to postpone our trip to Scotland several times, and when we could no longer postpone we had to leap in faith because... READ THE FULL STORY HERE:

    LYRICS:
By yon bonnie banks and by yon bonnie braes,
Where the sun shines bright on Loch Lomond,
Where me and my true love were ever wont to gae,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond.

    Chorus:
O ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road,
And I'll be in Scotland afore ye,
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond.

'Twas there that we parted, in yon shady glen,
On the steep, steep side o' Ben Lomond,
Where in purple hue, the hieland hills we view,
And the moon coming out in the gloaming.

    Chorus

The wee birdies sing and the wildflowers spring,
And in sunshine the waters are sleeping.
But the broken heart it kens, nae second spring again,
Though the waeful may cease frae their grieving.

An Irish Pub Song is the 2nd single of The Rumjacks debut album 'Gangs Of New Holland'. It is a piss take at the explosion of Irish Pubs in Australia and the bastardisation of a culture.

The video was directed and filmed by Nathan Macdonald of Fatboy Films Australia.

    LYRICS:

Theres a county map to go on the wall,
    A hurling stick & a shinty ball,
The bric, the brac, the craic & all,
Lets call it an Irish pub,
    Caffreys, Harp, Kilkenny on tap,
The Guinness pie & that cabbage crap,
    The ideal wannabee Paddy trap,
We'll call it an Irish pub,

Whale, oil, beef, hooked! I swear upon the holy book,
The only 'craic' you'll get is a slap in the ear,
Whale, oil, beef, hooked! I'll up & burst yer filthy mug,
If you draw one more shamrock in me beer!

We'll raise the price o' beer a dollar,
We'll make em wear a shirt & collar,
    We'll fly a bloody tri-colour,
And call it an Irish pub,
    Jager bombs & double shots,
    The underagers think its tops,
We'll spike the drinks & pay the cops,
We got us an Irish pub.

The quick one in the filthy bog,
The partin' glass across the lug,
O' the lady-O, the dirty dog,
We got us an Irish pub,
It's over to me and over to you,
    We'll skip along the Avenue,
And who t'hell is Ronnie Drew?
We got us an Irish pub.

    Plasma screens & neon lights,
    Kara-farkin-oke nights,
The bouncers they can pick the fights,
We'll call it an Irish pub,
    Plastic cups, a polished floor,
We'll hose the blood right out the door,
And let the knucklers back for more,
We got us an Irish pub,

Oh top o' the mornin', Garryowen,
Kiss me I'm Irish, Molly Malone,
    Failte, Slainte, Pog ma thon,
We got us an Irish pub,
Spike the punch & strip the willow,
Strike me up the rakes o' Mallow,
The Liffey never ran so shallow,
We got us an Irish pub.

Once again, I'm sharing one of my albums from start to finish. St Andrew's is on November 30th this year. In addition to celebrating the feast of St. Andrew, it is also Scotland's official national holiday. So I'm gonna share my album Scottish Songs of Drinking & Rebellion, from start to finish in this show. This album was released on November 30, 2013, five years ago. It was fully produced, mixed and mastered by me. Nathan Deese is a Celtic musician from North Carolina. He sang background vocals on the album. He also played bass, guitar, mandolin, whistle and flute on Come Ye By Athrol, Green Grow the Rashes, Ye Jacobites By Name, and Flower of Scotland. Daniel I Briggs sang background vocals as well and played bass, guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin and all other songs. Jody Richardson added violin on Loch Tay Boat Song Jon Richardson played concertina on MacPherson's Farewell. Most of the tracks were recorded in January 2011. I took my family on a trip up to middle-of-no-where Kentucky to record, while Gwen and baby Kenzie visited a friend in Lexington. I recorded this album, Don't Go Drinking With Hobbits, and St Patrick's Day all at the same time. However, there were two tracks I re-recorded parts later. One was Mingulay Boat Song. The other was Flower of Scotland. And when you listen to those, notice the background vocals because I used the wrong settings on my USB preamp. So they came off more compressed sounding. And I LOVED the sound. They kinda make the songs. I found it humorous that in Ye Canna Shove Yer Granny that I repeated a verse accidentally. And I didn't notice it while I was editing. The front Photo on the album was taken by Jan Czenkusch on our Celtic Invasion of Scotland in 2013. She also took the pictures inside the CD. I took the ones on the back. And graphic design was by James McDaniel II. Now most of these songs are traditional except for Flower of Scotland which is by Roy Williamson. Mingulay Boat Song which is by Sir Hugh S. Roberton. Mari's Wedding is by John Roderick Bannerman. And Skye Boat Song is by Sir Harold Boulton.' And of course Robert Burns wrote MacPherson's, Jacobites, Scots Wha Hae, A Man's A Man and Green Grow the Rashes. I love this album. These are my absolute favorite Scottish, all except I couldn't get a good recording of Loch Lomond. And some of these recordings, thanks to Nathan and Daniel, made this a powerhouse album in my opinion. Subscribe at Celtfather.com if you want to find out more about some of the songs in the future. And if you have any questions, email me.

  • ♫ Scottish Bagpipes - Going Home ♫

    1:30

Going Home is a famous tune played on the bagpipes at both military and civilian funerals. The tune signifies exactly what the title says - That no matter where in the world you die, you always go home to your birth country - Scotland.

This album is not recommended for soothing the savage beast. Instead of soothing,
it's much more likely to heighten his energy, step up his blood pressure, and
further his tantrum or whatever it was that bothered him in the first place. This
is stirring music, violent music at its most moving, played by the
Regimental Band and Pipes and Drums of THE BLACK WATCH. How much tunes like
these helped members of the Black Watch in their campaigns all over the globe
has never been historically established, but certainly the regiment is among the
    world's most famous military units.
Organized in Scotland in the early eighteenth century to police, or watch,
the Scottish highlands still seething against the English after the 1715 rebellion,
the new regiment adopted a dark tartan to contrast with the bright scarlet of the
English units, and that's how it got the name of the Black Watch. Since then it has
played a vital part in all of Britain's struggles.
After a short hitch on Scottish patrol duty, the regiment was blooded in the
battle of Fontenoy against the French in 1745. Then came service in Ireland, and
the Black Watch became the 42nd regiment of infantry. Next it sailed across the
Atlantic to reinforce the British and American colonial troops opposing the French
in the French and Indian War. Its gallantry at Ticonderoga won for the Black
Watch the right to use the word :Royal in its title.
Black Watch units later served in the West Indies, India, Egypt and the Battle
of Alexandria, during which a Black Watch officer captured the standard of
Napoleon's Invincible Legion, practically destroyed by the Highlanders in
this engagement. Then came Waterloo, Crimea, the Boer War and the First World
War. And in World War II the regiment was represented in every major theatre
of war except Norway and Malaya.
On These two sides, you'll hear all the music of the Black Watch represented: its
parade and marching songs, the battle cries of the bagpipes, and the ceremonial
numbers reserved for special occasions when the regiment lines up with arms and
instruments brightly burnished to receive the honors and awards of Queen and
    Commonwealth.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now am found
Was blind, but now I see

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
    And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
    The hour I first believed

When we've been there ten thousand years
    Bright shining as the sun
We've no less days to sing God's praise

Footage from the recording session featuring Bruch Scottish Fantasy.
Nicola Benedetti, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Rory Macdonald (conductor)

Violinist Nicola Benedetti, celebrates a milestone year for Scotland with an album which is a true reflection of her native homeland. With a stunning new recording of Bruch's Scottish Fantasy as its centrepiece, the album also includes some of Scotland's best loved songs such as Loch Lomond, My Love is Like a Red Red Rose together with collaborations with Scotland's most eminent folk musicians including Phil Cunningham, Aly Bain and folk singer Julie Fowlis (whose voice can be heard on the Disney/Pixar hit film, Brave).

The new album is perhaps the most personal Nicola has ever recorded, bringing together two musical traditions, classical and Scottish folk; worlds that have, for centuries, co-existed but rarely been recorded alongside one another.

Mirk an' dreary is the nicht

    Lichtnin's gleam athwart the lift
The cauld winds drive wi' winter's fury

    Chorus:

Is howlin' ower the warlock Craigie

    Fearfu' soughs the boortree bank
The rifted wood roars wild and dreary
Loud the iron yett does clank
The cry of hoolits mak's me eerie

RAPALJE, Celtic Folk Music with a difference!

The musicians of Rapalje with their wild hair and medieval kilts create a flaming energy with their enthusiasm and motivation. With sensitive ballads, fiery songs and vivacious Celtic melodies Rapalje electrifies their audience. Mac Lewis Duo Mac Lewis Duo

Composé d'un joueur de cornemuse écossaise et d'un tambour napoléonien, duo de musique celtique fait l'évènement grâce à la puissance sonore et rythmique dégagée, la beauté de ses costumes, son sens de la fête.

Bagpipes represent a kind of well known instrument symbolic of Scotland. The Bagpipes are build and manufactured with a large bag full of air, which feeds the flute. Bearing in mind, the Scottish Great Highland Bagpipe with their famous tartans and the authentic Irish uilleann pipes have the largest and greatest international visibility, several bagpipes have been played all over the world for centuries throughout large parts of Europe such the Caucasus region and around the Persian Gulf and in Northern Africa. .Pipes and Pipers
