    Going Home (lyrics):

Home, I'm making my way home
    My mind's already there
    yes my mind is

light, you're with me in the dark
    light my way at night
    let your light shine

Now, this burden weighs me down
    the heaviest of weights
knocks me to the ground, right down to the

dew that sparkles on the ground
    blue mountains loom above
    blue mountains loom and I

    I walk alone, one wish
    won't be forgotten
    never forget that

    Long, is the path ahead
    and though my body tires
and I have far to go
    I know I´m going home
    I know I'm going home
    I know I'm going home
    I know I'm going home
    I know I'm going home

Home, I'm making my way home
    my mind's already there
    yes my mind is

Light, you're with me in the dark
    light my way at night
    let your light shine

Now, this burden weighs me down
    the heaviest of weights
    knocks me to the ground,

    This burden weighs me down
    This burden weighs me down
    This burden weighs me down
    This burden weighs me down

  • Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song

    4:08

You're watching the official video for 'Immigrant Song' by Led Zeppelin. This version of Immigrant Song serves as a wonderfully evocative bridge between the early, understated Zeppelin of the Albert Hall era and the full-blown grandeur their performances would assume throughout the rest of the seventies.

The visuals and the soundtrack of this live performance of are a digitized 'mash' of two separate performances: the film footage taken from the band's performance at the Sydney Showground in Australiam in February 1972; the music from a Long Beach Arena show, in Los Angeles, in the summer of 1972.

The fourth album had just come out and we were on a roll. Even though the visuals and soundtrack are from different performances, the energy that comes across is palpable. - John Paul Jones

Led Zeppelin formed in 1968 and went on to become one of the most influential, innovative, and successful groups in modern music, having sold more than 300 million albums worldwide. The band rose from the ashes of The Yardbirds, when Jimmy Page brought in John Bonham, John Paul Jones, and Robert Plant to tour as The New Yardbirds. In 1969, Led Zeppelin released its self-titled debut which was produced by Page, as were all the subsequent albums. It marked the beginning of a 12-year reign, during which the group was widely considered to be the biggest and most innovative rock band in the world.

    Tłumaczenie tekstu:
    Na morzu, na błękitnym morzu
    Tam pływały stada białych łabędzi
    Z małymi łabądkami
A skąd się wziął szaro-biały orzeł
Rozgonił stado po całym błękitnym morzu
Biały puszek uniósł się do nieba
Szare pierze opadło na zielonej łące
    A kto zbierze to pierze?
    Zbierze je piękna dziewczyna

    Translation:
    At the sea, blue sea
There was a floating flock of white swans
And where did the gray-white eagle come from?
It dispersed the flock around the blue sea
    White down rose to heaven,
Gray feathers fell on a green meadow
And who will collect these feathers?

Laboratorium Pieśni śpiewa tradycyjnie, w wielogłosie pieśni: ukraińskie, bałkańskie, polskie, białoruskie, a także gruzińskie, skandynawskie i wiele innych. Pieśni świata wykonują zarówno a capella, jak i przy akompaniamencie bębnów szamańskich i innych etnicznych instrumentów (m.in. shruti box, dzwonków, przeszkadzajek, fletu, kalimby, mis, gongu), wnosząc w pieśni tradycyjne nową przestrzeń improwizacji głosowych, inspirowanych dźwiękami natury, często intuicyjnych, dzikich, kobiecych.
    -----
Laboratorium Pieśni (meaning: Song Laboratory) is the group of female songsters from Tri-City (Poland), which was created in 2013. Using traditional, polyphonic singing they perform songs from all over the world, mainly: Ukraine, Balkans, Poland, Belarus, Georgia, Scandinavia and many other places. They sing a capella as well as with shaman drums and other ethnic instruments (shruti box, kalimba, flute, gong, zaphir and koshi chimes, singing bowls, rattles etc.), creating a new space in a traditional song, adding voice improvisations, inspired by sounds of nature, often intuitive, wild and feminine.

  • Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song - cover - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

    2:59

Incredible vocals from Ken Tamplin on this classic Led Zeppelin Rocker! Check It Out!

Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song - cover - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

The Land of ice and snow is Iceland, where the band played in June 1970. Robert Plant explained: We weren't being pompous. We did come from the land of the ice and snow. We were guests of the Icelandic Government on a cultural mission. We were invited to play a concert in Reykjavik and the day before we arrived all the civil servants went on strike and the gig was going to be canceled. The university prepared a concert hall for us and it was phenomenal. The response from the kids was remarkable and we had a great time. 'Immigrant Song' was about that trip and it was the opening track on the album that was intended to be incredibly different.
One of the lyrics became part of Led Zeppelin lore. The line, The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands got many of their fans referring to Zeppelin's sound as the Hammer of the gods.
The phrase was used by author Stephen Davis as the title of a book about the band.
Led Zeppelin meant for this song to be somewhat humorous, relating their adventures on the road to the Vikings who fought the hordes to conquer new lands. They weren't known as a funny band, so a lot of their fans took it quite seriously.
The hiss at the beginning is feedback from an echo unit. It was intentional.
Robert Plant's love of history played into the lyric, as he was thinking about explorers like Marco Polo and how they must have felt in their travels. Just as he felt pressure to top the previous album, he wondered if these explorers felt pressure to find even better lands after a big discovery.

The line, Valhalla I am coming refers to Norse mythology. Valhalla is a hall in Asgard where the souls of fallen warriors are taken by the Valkyries, which are spirits of war who carry up heroes who have been slain. Only heroes are taken to Valhalla, where they will wait for their certain doom.
To get permission to use this song in the movie School Of Rock, the star of the movie, Jack Black, videotaped himself singing in front of a huge crowd of people, begging Led Zeppelin to let them use the song in the movie. They succeeded, and the song was featured in a scene where Black sings along to the tune when it comes on the radio in his van, which he is using to transport his students.

It may seem corny, but it worked, Jack Black said on the DVD. The moral of the story is, Don't be too proud to beg.

    That's where I come in!

I recorded this song almost 2 years ago, but the publishing company refused to allow me to post it until this week!

So with that said, I bring you… Immigrant Song!

Let me know how I did.

  • PsychevisioN Presents: RAW CUTS - Björk | FYF FEST 2017

    18:58

RAW CUTS is PsychevisioN's new show, providing high quality raw uncut video and stereo sound recordings of some of the most hottest, unique and interesting concerts. For this series I filmed some of my personal favorite performances of FYF FEST 2017.

    BJÖRK

Björk Guðmundsdóttir (Icelandic pronunciation: [ˈpjœr̥k ˈkvʏðmʏntsˌtouhtɪr], born 21 November 1965), known as Björk (/ˈbjɜːrk/), is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, actress, record producer, and DJ. Over her four-decade career, she has developed an eclectic musical style that draws on a wide range of influences and genres spanning electronic, pop, experimental, classical, trip hop, IDM, and avant-garde styles. She initially became known as the lead singer of the alternative rock band The Sugarcubes, whose 1987 single Birthday was a hit on US and UK indie stations and a favorite among music critics. Björk embarked on a solo career in 1993, coming to prominence as a solo artist with albums such as Debut (1993), Post (1995), and Homogenic (1997), while collaborating with a range of artists and exploring a variety of multimedia projects.

Several of Björk's albums have reached the top 20 on the Billboard 200 chart, the most recent being her 2015 album Vulnicura. Björk has had 30 singles reach the top 40 on pop charts around the world, with 22 top 40 hits in the UK, including the top 10 hits It's Oh So Quiet, Army of Me, and Hyperballad. She is reported to have sold between 20 and 40 million records worldwide as of 2015. She has received consistent critical praise for her innovative vocal and compositional approaches, musical experimentation, and art direction; Salon described her as the most important and forward-looking musician of her generation and Deadspin called her the best non-pop female vocalist of the last 30 years. She has been ranked twenty-ninth in VH1's The 100 Greatest Women in Music eighth in MTV's 22 Greatest Voices in Music, sixtieth in Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers of All Time

Björk has won five BRIT Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, one MOJO Award, three UK Music Video Awards, 21 Icelandic Music Awards and, in 2010, the Polar Music Prize from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in recognition of her deeply personal music and lyrics, her precise arrangements and her unique voice. She has also been nominated for 14 Grammy Awards, one Academy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards. In 2015, the singer was included in Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world. She won the Best Actress Award at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival for her performance in the film Dancer in the Dark. A full-scale retrospective exhibition dedicated to Björk was held at the Museum of Modern Art in 2015.

Maybe I should do a top of this part as well!

If you ask me which versions I like, then here you are :
Love : Polish, Thai 1998, Turkish, Japanese ( both of them ), French, Czech, Hindi, Tamil!

Good : Greek 1989, Russian, Cantonese, Norwegian, Swedish, English and maybe others!

Dislikes : Romanian : I know this singer, since she sang in the 1980s or 1990s or whenever in Romania, she has a pretty voice, but the Un biet suflet fără noroc sounds nooby and a bit out of tune, pretty surprising since this language in my opinion has good tunes everytime!
Arabic : I also dislike this! If I'm not mistaken, it is a guy and his voice sounds awful :(!
Hungarian : Surprising as well, since I like this language but with that faaaaaaaaaaaaaaj sounds bad as well!

  • Daniel Emond - The Whale

    6:22

Apartment Sessions: Iceland - The Whale (Daniel Emond)

The Whale is the opening song to a concept album/musical I’m writing by the same name, based on my favorite book, “Moby-Dick”. Like the 800-page tome, Iceland has a storied history of whaling; there could be no more fitting a setting for Ishmael’s wandering ballad than Hvalfjordur, Iceland’s Whale Fjord. In the show, Ishmael asks you to picture in your mind’s eye, the last time you were standing on a beach looking out to sea, before we hear the first note. The first breath I took to sing on this particular day was a cold, but happy one. - Daniel Emond

“Icelandic Sailor: I don’t like your floor, maty; it’s too springy to my taste. I’m used to ice-floors. I’m sorry to throw cold water on the subject; but excuse me” —Moby-Dick, chapter 40. Midnight, Forecastle.

    --------------------
~ Trond Hans KVERNO (born 20 October 1945 in Oslo) is a contemporary Norwegian composer. He received degrees in church music, music theory and choir direction from the Norwegian Academy of Music. He is known for his liturgical compositions.

He also serves as an Auxiliary Bishop of the Christ Catholic Church International.
Church music has spearheaded major new developments in music in Norway throughout the post-war period, in terms of both musical innovation and institutional renewal. At the same time church music composers have enjoyed growing popularity among musicians and listeners alike. Trond H.F. Kverno has been an exponent of this tradition since the 1970s, and his compositions are today among the finest and most frequently performed in Norway.

Trond H.F. Kverno was born in Oslo in 1945. He took his degree in church music from the Oslo Conservatory of Music in 1967. The following year he took a degree in music theory and choir direction. He was ordained deacon of music in 1975, and has served as an organist in a number of churches in Oslo and elsewhere.
After beginning his teaching career at the Oslo Conservatory of Music in 1971, Trond H.F. Kverno transferred to the Norwegian State Academy of Music in 1973, the year of its founding, where he has been a prominent figure in the teaching of music theory. Since 1978 he has been senior lecturer in church music and composition theory. He has been particularly involved in the more creative, performance-oriented aspects of the latter, focusing on liturgical organ playing, improvisation and composition for use in church services. Since the introduction of a graduate programme in church music at the Academy in 1983, he has also taught within the fields of liturgiology and hymnody. In 1994 he was appointed professor in church music, with church music composition as his main subject.
Trond H.F. Kverno has also gained national recognition in the latter field. He was a member of the liturgical commission (1976–78) appointed to reform the liturgical books of the Church of Norway. He has drawn on his experience from the commission in the fields of composition and practical liturgy in positions connected to the Oslo Cathedral and Gamle Aker Church, Oslo. Norsk Høymesse 1977 (The Norwegian Morning Service) includes several melodies composed by Kverno in its general series.

The liturgical commission was also responsible for laying the groundwork for Norsk Salmebok (Norwegian Hymnal), written in 1983. Kverno finds it especially challenging to compose for gatherings with no particular musical expertise, and regards every melody which is included in a songbook or hymnal as a small triumph. In this respect he has a good deal to be proud of: Norsk Salmebok of 1983 includes 27 of his hymns, and his compositions are also to be found in hymnals in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Germany.

Trond H.F. Kverno regards his career primarily in terms of his church music accomplishments. In his view, the concept absolute music is a rare occurrence, as most works are generally part of an ideological or aesthetic context. The individual work may also reflect the person who commissioned it, its users or its listeners. In Kverno's opinion, music performed in a church differs significantly from that played in a concert hall: The performer is the entire congregation where everyone sings, or where some sing while others pray. The congregation is also an instrument. The music resounds through the faith of the universal church as an sacrifice to the Holy Trinity. The goal is the congregation's prayer, rather than aesthetic pleasure. The essential point is that the music hears us and interprets us before the throne of God, not that we hear the music. This is the fundamental assumption on which my work is based. I would liken my work to that of the painter of icons, where each icon is a window to a reality other than that which surrounds us.

    Lyrics:

    Just like in the movies
    It starts to rain
    We're the broken beauties
Blindfolded minds collide and we fall

    When the curtain drops
Our touch is just a touch
    Not like in the movies
    Our stories after the end

    Like strangers
    Perfect pretenders
    We're falling head over heels
    For something that ain't real
It could never be us, eh
    Just you and I
    Strangers
    Perfect pretenders
    We're falling head over heels
    For something that ain't real
It could never be us, eh
    Just you and I

    Memories in photos
    Too easy to rewrite
    Left us lonely shadows
Holding each other tight and we fall

    When the curtain drops
Our touch is just a touch
    Not like in the movies
    Our stories after the end

    Like strangers
    Perfect pretenders
    We're falling head over heels
    For something that ain't real
It could never be us, eh
    Just you and I

Think we got it but we're made of a dream
Cause we've got a feeling of what we could be
I don't want you, all you want is someone
Going home together to forget we're alone
Think we got it but we're made of a dream
Cause we've got a feeling of what we could be
I don't want you, all you want is someone
Going home together to forget we're alone
You and I, you and I, you and I, you and I, you and I, you and I
    Not like in the movies
You and I, you and I, you and I, you and I, you and I, you and I
    Not like in the movies

  • Erin Bentlage - I Would

    5:13

I wrote 'I Would' in a moment where I thought I did not want to be where I was. With the ocean as my only consolation, I sang to my future and the reminder that darkness always breaks, realizing I could orient myself toward that promise. Singing this song with Apartment Sessions in Iceland, I revisited my endless gratitude for the Earth and all she provides, but this time I was singing to my present self and my fellow humans, in awe of a life that had delivered me to that moment. - Erin Bentlage

    THE STOLEN CHILD

    W. B. YEATS
    Where dips the rocky highland
Of Sleuth Wood in the lake,
    There lies a leafy island
    Where flapping herons wake
    The drowsy water-rats.
There we’ve hid our fairy vats
Full of berries,And of reddest stolen cherries.
    Come away, O, human child!
To the woods and waters wild
With a fairy hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.

Where the wave of moonlight glosses
The dim grey sands with light,
    Far off by farthest Rosses
We foot it all the night,
    Weaving olden dances,
    Mingling hands, and mingling glances,
    Till the moon has taken flight;
    To and fro we leap,
    And chase the frothy bubbles,
While the world is full of troubles
And is anxious in its sleep.
    Come away! O, human child!
To the woods and waters wild,
With a fairy hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.

    Where the wandering water gushes
    From the hills above Glen-Car,
    In pools among the rushes,
That scarce could bathe a star,
    We seek for slumbering trout,
    And whispering in their ears;
    We give them evil dreams,
    Leaning softly out
From ferns that drop their tears
Of dew on the young streams.
    Come! O, human child!
To the woods and waters wild,
With a fairy hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than you can understand.

    Away with us, he’s going,
    The solemn-eyed;
He’ll hear no more the lowing
Of the calves on the warm hill-side.
Or the kettle on the hob
    Sing peace into his breast;
Or see the brown mice bob
Round and round the oatmeal chest.
For he comes, the human child,
To the woods and waters wild,
With a fairy hand in hand,
For the world’s more full of weeping than he can understand

It reached number one in the UK, but was banned in several countries due to its sexual content.

    Covers

The song has been covered dozens of times, both serious and comedic.
The first covers were instrumentals, Love at first sight, after the original was banned; the first version by Sounds Nice became a top 20 hit.
The first parody was written in 1970 by Gainsbourg himself and Marcel Mithois. Titled Ça, it was recorded by Bourvil and Jacqueline Maillan (fr:Jacqueline Maillan), Bourvil's last release before his death.
Other comedy versions were made by Frankie Howerd and June Whitfield, Judge Dread, and the cast of the BBC TV comedy 'Allo 'Allo!.

The song influenced the 1975 disco classic Love to Love You Baby by singer Donna Summer and producer Giorgio Moroder; they duetted Je t'aime in a 15-minute version for the film Thank God It's Friday in 1978.
In 1998, Sam Taylor-Wood recorded a cover with the Pet Shop Boys for the compilation CD/book futique entitled Ambassadors - We Love You, a concept designed to promote collaboration between visual and musical artists.
This track was a bonus on the I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Any More CD single.

In 2002, Trash Palace published a cover version on their album Positions, featuring Brian Molko of Placebo and Asia Argento.
The singers reverse their parts throughout the song, so that sometimes the female persona was sung by Molko.
Cat Power and Karen Elson performed a suitably breathy sapphic treatment in English entitled I love you (me either) for the 2005 tribute album Monsieur Gainsbourg Revisited.

Percy Faith (1908 – 1976) was a Canadian bandleader, orchestrator, composer and conductor, known for his lush arrangements of pop and Christmas standards. He is often credited with popularizing the easy listening or mood music format. Faith became a staple of American popular music in the 1950s and continued well into the 1960s. Though his professional orchestra-leading career began at the height of the swing era, Faith refined and rethought orchestration techniques, including use of large string sections, to soften and fill out the brass-dominated popular music of the 1940s.

His most famous and remembered recordings are Delicado (1952), The Song from Moulin Rouge (1953) and Theme from A Summer Place (1960), which won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1961. Faith remains the only artist to have the best selling single of the year during both the pop singer era (Song from Moulin Rouge) and the rock era (Theme from a Summer Place); and he is one of only three artists, along with Elvis Presley and The Beatles, to have the best selling single of the year twice. The B-side of Song from the Moulin Rouge was Swedish Rhapsody by Hugo Alfvén. In 1961 his fame in Sweden would rise exponentially as his work Mucho Gusto would become the theme music for the sports broadcasts of Sveriges Radio. - Wikipedia

Each one of us needs to look after the good of the
people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?”
That’s exactly what Jesus did. He didn’t make it easy
for Himself by avoiding people’s troubles, but waded
    right in and helped out.

  • The JointCheap Freedom1967 Uk Proto Prog Freak Phych

    2:31

From Album 1967 Freak Street......Full album in Playlist....

The Joint were created in July 1967 out of the Folkestone band The Lonely Ones, who had included in the early line up Noel Redding, who of course went of fame and fortune with Jimi Hendrix Experience, also Jim Leverton, who Played with The Yardbirds and Rick Davies who become famous as a member with the Supertramp.

During European dates in 1967 the band made up with film writer David Llewelyn and director/composer George Moorse and went on to record soundtrack material for a series Munich underground movies in Germany, including Jet Generation and Der Griller.

Most of the recordings of The Joint were long presumed lost, this release has been taken from a ¼ inch demo tape, it has been degenerated over time and the sound quality suffers in some places as a consequence, but to bring this great lost band to light again -after almost 40 years- feel sure is worth it.

    The Joint
*John Andy Andrews - Lead Vocals
    *Trevor Willians - Guitar, Vocals
    *Rick Davies - Keyboard, Vocals
    *Keith Bailey - Drums
    *Martin Vinson/Steve Brass - Bass
    *Tony Catchpole - Guitar.
