  • Netherlands: Violence erupts at mass anti-immigration demo over refugee centre

    2:13

Anti-immigration protesters hurled fireworks and missiles at riot police during a far-right rally against the planned opening of a refugee centre in the Dutch town of Heesch, Monday.

After police attempted to disperse an estimated 1000 protesters who had marched on the local town hall, violence erupted, with anti-immigration demonstrators letting off flares and fireworks, targetting law enforcement. Police have yet to release the number of those arrested and injured.

The protest was organised after town officials called a meeting on Monday over plans to accommodate some 500 refugees in the town, spread out over next ten years. The rally also followed a statement by populist far-right politician Geert Wilders of the Freedom Party (PVV) called for all Muslim male refugees to be locked up in asylum centres. Wilders has been sued several times for inciting racial hatred.

  • Милицейская музыка Police music

    8:28

Dedicated to the bodies of Internal Affairs: Police, Militia, traffic police, traffic police. etc (Посвящается Органам Внутренних Дел: Полиции, Милиции, ГАИ, ДПС. и т.д)
Militsiya (Russian: милиция, IPA: [mʲɪˈlʲitsɨjə], Belarusian: міліцыя, Estonian: miilits, Armenian: միլիցիա [militsʰia], Kyrgyz: милиция, Latvian: milicija, Lithuanian: milicija, Polish: milicja, Romanian: miliția, Serbo-Croatian: milicija/милиција, Slovene: milica, Tajik: милитсия, Ukrainian: міліція, Uzbek: militsiya or милиция, Ger: Volkspolizei), often confused with militia, was the name of the police forces in the Soviet Union and several Warsaw Pact countries, as well as in the non-aligned SFR Yugoslavia, and the term is still commonly used in some of the individual former Soviet republics such as Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as in the unrecognized republics of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Transnistria.
The name originates from a Provisional Government decree dated April 17, 1917, and from early Soviet history, when both the Provisional Government and the Bolsheviks intended to associate their new law enforcement authority with the self-organization of the people and to distinguish it from the czarist police. The militsiya was reaffirmed on October 28 (November 10, according to the new style dating), 1917 under the official name of the Workers' and Peasants' Militsiya, in further contrast to what the Bolsheviks called the bourgeois class protecting police. Eventually, it was replaced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Russian: МВД, MVD; Ukrainian: МВС, MVS; Belorussian: МУС, MUS), which is now the official full name for the militsiya forces in the respective countries. Its regional branches are officially called Departments of Internal Affairs—city department of internal affairs, raion department of internal affairs, oblast department of internal affairs, etc. The Russian term for a raion department is OVD (ОВД; Отдел/Отделение внутренних дел, Otdel/Otdeleniye vnutrennikh del), for region department is UVD (УВД; Управление внутренних дел, Upravleniye vnutrennikh del) or, sometimes, GUVD (ГУВД; Главное управление внутренних дел, Glavnoye upravleniye vnutrennikh del), same for national republics is MVD, (МВД; Министерство внутренних дел, Ministerstvo vnutrennikh del).

Functionally, Ministries of Internal Affairs are mostly police agencies. Their functions and organization differ significantly from similarly named departments in Western countries, which are usually civil executive bodies headed by politicians and responsible for many other tasks as well as the supervision of law enforcement. The Soviet and successor MVDs have usually been headed by a militsiya general and predominantly consist of service personnel, with civilian employees only filling auxiliary posts. Although such ministers are members of their respective countries' cabinet, they usually do not report to the prime minister and parliament, but only to the president. Local militsiya departments are subordinated to their regional departments, having little accountability before local authorities.

Internal affairs units within the militsiya itself are usually called internal security departments.[citation needed]

The official names of particular militsiya bodies and services in post-Soviet countries are usually very complicated, hence the use of the short term militsiya. Laws usually refer to police just as militsiya.

The short term for a police officer (regardless of gender) is militsioner (Russian: милиционер, Ukrainian: мiлiцiонер). Slang terms for militsioner include ment (plural: менты, menty) and musor (plural: мусора, musora). Although the latter word is offensive (it literally means trash or garbage), it originated from an acronym for the Moscow Criminal Investigations Department (МУС, short for Московский уголовный сыск) in Imperial Russia. Ment is a close equivalent to the English slang term cop and has derived from the Lwów dialect. The following countries have changed the name of the police force from Militsiya to Police western-style name: Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania, Moldova, Latvia, Mongolia, Macedonia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia Kazakhstan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Russia and Ukraine.

The police are still called Militsiya in Belarus, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as in unrecognized republics of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Transnistria but in Kyrgyzstan there is an active discussion about renaming the police force from Militsiya to Police.

  • Hartiya/Papers | Refugees talk about the registration procedures along the Balkan route

    7:38

    Hartiya - mac. paper, document

This film was shot in Macedonia and Serbia at the beginning of October 2015. | Ten film został nakręcony w Macedonii i Serbii na początku października 2015.

[POLSKI PONIŻEJ, polskie napisy w CC]

Towards the end of September 2015, after approximately 300 thousand people had already crossed into Europe since June, Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency, ordered a full registration of all migrants going through the Balkans. Preshevo, a small Albanian town in southern Serbia, was chosen as the place where that arduous procedure was going to take place. As soon as the new regulations had been put into effect they created huge queues in which migrants had to stand, sometimes as long as several days. Conditions worsened very quickly as the weather broke down, the refugees had no access to water, food, trash cans or toilets. They had to sleep where they were standing, unprotected from wind and rain. (For now, the situation in Preshevo continues more or less as described).
This is only a small fraction of what has been happening in the Balkans during the last few months. Not to mention years before that, when thousands of refugees were risking their lives setting off on the perilous journey towards Europe. Many died, lost their health or all their belongings along the way. Today we hear about about people being tortured and shot by border police in Bulgaria, an EU member state. All this is the result of the policies of the EU and actions of its border agency Frontex.
    REFUGEES WELCOME

  • In Memory of Sean Gannon Aug 22, 1985 - April 12, 2018

    7:02

My heart goes out to Sean and his wife and the rest of the Gannon Family. We had so many wonderful memories together. I will always think of how much fun we would have and how much fun I had just trying to be ridiculous and making you laugh. You would always love when I would break into song, and ridiculous battle rap. Or playing good cop bad cop at Hoytz theatre or pretending we were a fine dining establishment while making smoothies and cookies. Words could not describe how dedicated, loyal and kind he was. He really did make you want to be a better person and I hope to pay that forward. I decided on Ed Sheeran's I See Fire because I could not find the words to express how I felt and Ed did a nice job writing it. The mood of the song and the repeated phrase I hope that you'll remember me kept resonating with me as I hope no matter where he is that I hope he will remember me, as I will always remember him. I made this online memorial for him so his memory would live on long beyond myself. I hope future generations see it and know that Sean was a super hero in real life that touched the lives of so many people and should be remembered forever.

Sean Gannon, you are an amazing person, and have truly inspired so many great things from so many great people. Your body may have stopped here, but your legacy will live on both in memories and in how you have inspired everyone to work a little harder to better themselves and try to fill the void you have left behind. It was an honor to know you and I wish you well. Remembered Always. Godspeed, and party on.

GANNON, Sean McNamee K-9 Officer Sean McNamee Gannon, Yarmouth PD, age 32, died on impact in the line of duty from a gunshot wound to the head on April 12th, 2018.

Born August 22nd, 1985 in New Bedford, MA, he graduated from All Saints Elementary School in 1999, and Bishop Stang High School in 2003. Gannon graduated with honors from Westfield State University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Master's with honors from Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a degree in Emergency Management in 2011, and the MBTA Municipal Police Academy. Gannon's internships included Nantucket Police, Westfield Police, and earned certifications as an EMT and Life Saving Instructor. Gannon started his career at Stonehill College in 2007 as a member of the Campus Police before joining the Yarmouth Police Department in 2010. Gannon was part of the Emergency Management Unit, a part-time member of the Proactive Anti-Crime Team, and he was the first K-9 narcotics officer for YPD. After retiring the K-9 narcotics officer, Gannon acquired the patrol dog who was also injured at the scene of the crime.

Sean leaves a legacy of high moral integrity, infectious humor, and collaborative work with colleagues. He enjoyed travel, working with his hands, donating his time to Big Brother/Big Sister and being outside. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Sean was deeply intuitive and inspired others to be their best selves.

Sean leaves his wife, Dara (Bryan), his parents, Patrick and Denise, his siblings, Timothy and his fiance Mary, Martha and her husband Derrick, his in-laws Kathy and Dean Bryan, and their son Ross, along with many relatives and friends.

Whatever Sean did, he gave 100% of himself. He will be profoundly missed by his family, colleagues, and friends.

Vigil for the Deceased and visitation will be on Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at St. Pius X in South Yarmouth, MA. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, 5 Barbara St., South Yarmouth, MA on Wednesday, April 18th, 2018. Burial will be held privately.

The family deeply appreciates the incredible outpouring of local and national messages of support and condolences. The family particularly wishes to recognize the outstanding presence of the Yarmouth Police Department during this difficult ordeal. • Germany: Cousin of Russian-German teen gives testimony on alleged rape at NPD rally

    1:31

Supporters of the far-right National Democratic Party of Germany (NPD) rallied in Berlin, Sunday, gathering to protest against sexual violence and the alleged rape of 13-year-old girl of German-Russian decent. During the demonstration, the teen's cousin described her experience of the events.

The far-right activists decided to stage the demonstration after a teenager, known as Elena K., went missing earlier in January, with her parents alleging that she was kidnapped by three “southern” men who spoke “broken German.” Her guardians later told police that during the 30 hour period that the teenager was missing, she was repeatedly beaten and raped.

The Berlin-Marzahn-based family filed a missing persons report after the teenager’s disappearance from Mahlsdorf train station on January 11. Locals found her the next day in Hellersdorf, where her parents picked her up and contacted local law enforcement, telling them the girl’s story. However, after police questioned the teenager without her guardians, she reportedly changed statements, saying that she had gone willingly with the men.

Following a medical examination of the girl, State Criminal Police Office (LKA) released a statement saying that there were no signs that the teenager had been either abducted or raped. The parents have since stated that she was pressured by police to change her statement, with Sunday’s protesters saying that the case had been “hushed up.”

  • The Speakeasies Swing Band - Liquid Paradise

    3:59

    Art'n'Roll:

Speakeasies were formed in the 1920s as a means to get around the everyday hassle of law enforcement watching for people violating the 18th Amendment. As a result of Prohibition, the speakeasy was an established institution. For every legitimate saloon that closed as a result of the new law, half dozen underground palaces sprung up. These speakeasies were one of the many ways that people during the 1920's and early 1930's obtained illegal alcohol. By the middle of the decade there were thought to be 100,000 speakeasies.

The Speakeasies' Swing Band! was formed in Thessaloniki, Greece. Nobody knows when! Some place their birth in September 2009 when Manolis, Panos K. & Panos V. met Caterina. Others believe that the band was shaped when the four friends took to the streets to play christmas carols. There are also those, more down to earth, who set the beginning of the SSB on their first appearance in the SwingALONICA in May 2010. By that time, Giannis, Thanos & Ilias had already joined the band. In October Stergios joined the band too, while, in Spring 2013 Christos undertakes to fill the void created by the departure of Ilias and Thanos.

The freeway is jammed and it's backed up for miles
The car is an oven and baking is wild
Nothing is ever the way it should be
What we deserve we just don't get you see

A briefcase, a lunch and a man on the edge
Each step gets closer to losing his head
Is someone in heaven are they looking down
'Cause nothing is fair just you look around

Falling down, falling down, falling down
Falling down, falling down, falling down

He's sick of waiting of lying like this
There's a hole in the sky for the angels to kiss
Branded a leper because you don't fit
In the land of the free you just live by your wits

Once he built missiles a nation's defence
Now he can't even give birthday presents
Across the city he leaves in his wake
A glimpse of the future a cannibal state

Falling down, falling down, falling down
Falling down, falling down, falling down

The freeway is jammed and it's backed up for miles

We all felt that the way things were progressing - the songs, Blaze's new involvement, the sound, the commitment - the new album really would have that extra quality, that bit of magic, that X Factor. This became the working title for the album and we liked it, so we kept it. It is also very apt as this is our tenth studio album and X can bring up many images.

Supporting the album was the X Factour tour. Much like the tour for their following album, Virtual XI, it was cut short after Blaze suffered a violent allergic reaction to certain elements used on the stages where the band performed.

This is the second album (Piece of Mind being the first) that did not have a title track on it, as well as the first album to not feature the album title in any of the song lyrics.

Luke Bryan: Stage Collapses And Crew Injured
Several stage hands were rushed to the hospital Thursday night after Luke Bryan's Ohio State concert ... after the singer's stage collapsed, TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... a forklift crashed into a portion of the stage during take down, and it crumpled.

We're told 4 people -- including guys from Luke's crew as well as arena staff -- were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries. Their current medical status is unclear.

Luke's next concert -- scheduled for tonight in Lexington, KY -- has been pushed to February because of obvious stage problems.

The freeway is jammed and it's backed up for miles
The car is an oven and baking is wild
Nothing is ever the way it should be
What we deserve we just don't get you see

A briefcase, a lunch and a man on the edge
Each step gets closer to losing his head
Is someone in heaven are they looking down
'Cause nothing is fair just you look around

Falling down, falling down, falling down
Falling down, falling down, falling down

He's sick of waiting of lying like this
There's a hole in the sky for the angels to kiss
Branded a leper because you don't fit
In the land of the free you just live by your wits

Once he built missiles a nation's defence
Now he can't even give birthday presents
Across the city he leaves in his wake
A glimpse of the future a cannibal state

Falling down, falling down, falling down
Falling down, falling down, falling down

The freeway is jammed and it's backed up for miles
The car is an oven and baking is wild
Nothing is ever the way it should be
What we deserve we just don't get you see

A briefcase, a lunch and a man on the edge
Each step gets closer to losing his head
Is someone in heaven are they looking down
'Cause nothing is fair just you look around

Falling down, falling down, falling down
Falling down, falling down, falling down
Falling down, falling down, falling down
Falling down, falling down, falling down

'Man On The Edge' is a song from Iron Maiden's album '''The X Factor'',released in 1995.

This song is based on the 1993 Joel Schumacher film Falling Down starring Michael Douglas and Robert Duvall, about an apparently normal man a middle-aged white-collar worker who finally snaps under the stress, frustration, and absurdity of big city life. It is another of the few up-tempo songs on the album, and, although the guitar solos are quite short and the song itself is not quite as deep as some of the other material on the album, it's a really good little rocker from a musical point of view.It was the first single the band released with Blaze Bayley on vocals.

Away from the jungle of 'Lord Of The Flies' and 'The Edge Of Darkness', we are taken here to the urban jungle of a vast megapole namely Los Angeles, but any other gigantic city in any industrialised country could have been the scene of such action. Like in the aforementioned songs/stories, the main character's sense of self fades away after he's reached his breaking point (in his particular case after losing both his job and family) and he finally loses control Each step gets closer to losing his head. The song's theme is somehow similar to that of 'Age Of Innocence' and highlights the flaws of an ungrateful modern society that does not look after its citizens (may it be through the lack of care for the unemployed who are made redundant or the lack of proper law enforcement against criminals) 'Cause nothing is fair just you look around.

At 4 pm local time, a water cannon truck was seen from drone footage, coming down a main street and as it passed in front of the Kowloon Mosque, stopped and then fired blue water from its cannon into a crowd of people in front of the mosque. It showed them being hit as they all tried to escape and before the group could get to safety it fired again on the small crowd. Those hit by the cannon’s blue water could be heard coughing and retching and asking for water to flush their eyes. One man hit was a 73-year-old man named Chugani. He commented to the Epoch Times, “ I’m 73 yrs old now and I can’t run easily. It’s totally out of my expectation that police can shoot at the elderly.”  Chugani said that his body was in pain and he could not see after the blue liquid hit him.  He eventually had to seek medical treatment at a hospital. The police have not disclosed what chemical is in the water but protesters hit all complained of skin irritations.  Chugani who is not a protester and who actually said he was pro-police told the Epoch Times, “ Now I do not trust them.” After the incident was publicized many city officials including Corrie Lam personally apologized to Chagani. Homan on 100 criminal illegal immigrants being released in LA Area daily: Voters need to make their voices heard  Former acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director, Tom Homan said on Fox & Friends, voters need to make their voices heard if they want to repeal sanctuary city policies.  While speaking to Congress on Tuesday, Tim Robbins, ICE’s top deportation official said that as many as 100 criminal illegal immigrants are being released into the Los Angeles area every day.Homan spoke about the LA Sheriff who has been releasing the illegals while on Fox News, “ This Sheriff is taking a political stance...he’s not protecting these communities as much as he could.”  Some members of Congress want to pass legislation that would make a cooperation with ICE mandatory.  Homan also stated, “ These people running for the Democratic nomination, every one of them, they want sanctuary cities, they want open borders, they want to abolish ICE.”  One Republican Sen. Thom Tillis said he is working on a bill that would make sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate, to be liable for a civil lawsuit from anyone who is victimized by a migrant released under the sanctuary policy. UK Police Arrest One as 39 Dead Discovered in EU-Origin Semi Truck Trailer A semi-truck discovered in a town on the outskirts of London was found to have inside the bodies of 39 dead people.  One 25 yr old man has been arrested and is being charged on suspicion of murder. Police say they are working on identifying the victims which included 38 adults and one teenager, there were no survivors.  It is speculated that the dead were victims of callous human smugglers.  The truck is believed to have come from Bulgaria which means the trailer crossed Europe with human cargo through several nations, making two sea crossings without being checked by border and customs officials.Human smugglers are emerging as being among the most prolific killers in modern Europe.  They often receive large sums of money to transport illegal immigrants into and across Europe secretly and many times with tragic consequences.  This was seen previously during the 2015 Europe migrant crisis where 71 dead bodies were discovered inside a truck in Austria. Payne: New Report Shows ‘egregious’ California taxes continue to drive out big earners  Due to California’s ‘egregious’ taxes,  many residents and high earners are leaving the state says, Charles Payne Host of Fox Business
