  • Kathe Green // Primrose Hill

Californian actress, model and singer Kathe Green cut the hugely sought after long player Run the Length of Your Wildness for Deram in 1969 after having appeared in The Party with Peter Sellers.

Finding herself in London as guest and bosom buddy of Richard Harris, himself enjoying a spin-off career as a hugely successful pop star at the time, Kathe found herself singing Mark Lester's vocal parts on 'Where Is Love?' for the soon-to-be-massive Oliver soundtrack. She was snapped up by Deram where she was teamed up with in-house whiz-kid producer Wayne Bickerton, arranger supreme John Cameron and the cream of London session players.

Run the Length of Your Wildness can't quite make up its mind whether to be pop-folk or Swinging London pop/rock. In that respect, as well as in its Baroque orchestral arrangements it's reminiscent of another late-'60s record, Dana Gillespie's Foolish Seasons — not surprising, as Bickerton produced both albums. The resemblance between the two singers is emphasized by a song that appears on both LPs, 'Tears in My Eyes'. You can throw in some similarities to a few other British female vocalists of the time straddling the lines between pop and folk, like Marianne Faithfull, Vashti Vunyan and (much more distantly) Judith Durham of the Seekers or even Sandie Shaw.

Green did write or co-write much of the material on the album, and some of it's above average for this orchestrated British pop-folk-rock genre, particularly 'Primrose Hill' and the slightly Donovan-ish 'Promise of Something New'.

  • Kathe Green - Part of Yesterday

She appeared with Peter Sellers in Blake Edwards' 'The Party', dubbed Mark Lester's singing voice in 'Oliver' and released a rare album in 1969 entitled 'Run The Length of Your Wildness' writing or co-writing 9 of the songs. Part of Yesterday is one she co-wrote with pianist Liz Sacks.

Kathe Green (born September 22, 1944), is a Californian actress, model and singer. She is the daughter of Johnny Green and Bunny Waters. She has a younger sister, Kim Meglio.
Kathe Green appeared in Blake Edwards´ The Party and then dubbed all of Mark Lester's singing voice in Oliver!. She signed to Deram Records and used a line of poetry bestowed on her by close friend Richard Harris as the title for her album, Run the Length of Your Wildness. Released in 1969, it was a collaborative effort with orchestral arrangements being handled by John Cameron and production by Wayne Bickerton. The album produced one single, Primrose Hill, released the same year on the Deram label.

Green even came to record for the Motown label in the mid-1970s and afterwards she stepped away from the music business.

  • Kathe Green - If I Thought Youd Ever Change Your Mind

Strangely scattershot, if fitfully entertaining LP, Run the Length of Your Wildness can't quite make up its mind whether to be pop-folk, Swinging London pop/rock, or middle of the road pop. In that respect, as well as in its Baroque orchestral arrangements (which verge on the fruity at times), it's reminiscent of another late-'60s record, Dana Gillespie's Foolish Seasons -- not surprising, as Wayne Bickerton produced both albums. You can throw in some similarities to a few other British female vocalists of the time straddling the lines between pop and folk, like Marianne Faithfull and (much more distantly) Judith Durham of the Seekers. Kathe Green's record, however, isn't nearly as good as Gillespie's, in part because Gillespie's a significantly better singer, though Green's adequate. The material's also better on Foolish Seasons, and both the similarity and disparity between the two singers is emphasized by a song that appears on both LPs (Tears in My Eyes), which is handled notably better by Gillespie. Green did write or co-write much of the material on Run the Length of Your Wildness, and some of it's above average for this orchestrated British pop-folk-rock genre, particularly Primrose Hill and the slightly Donovan-ish Promise of Something New.

    Ladies looking hot
    Shaking up what they've got
    Elephant Man and Kat, c'mon

    Senses telling me you're looking
I can feel it on my skin (Whoa)
Boy I wonder what would happen
If I trip and let you in
Don't get shook by my aggression
I just might be the one
    Let's skip this conversation
    Just whine your body up

    (Ha Ha Ha)
    Don't wanna wait no more
    (Ha Ha Ha)
You got what I'm searching for

    Cause I'm feeling your vibing
    I'm riding high is exotic
And I want you, I want you here
Pull me closer and closer and
Hold me tight to your body
I wanna feel you, I wanna feel you near

  • Kate Wolf - Green Eyes

  • Dionne Warwick - Where Is Love?

Where is Love? is a song from the Tony Award-winning British musical Oliver! and the 1968 film Oliver! based on the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. The musical was written by Lionel Bart and was first staged in London's West End in 1960.

Oliver Twist, the leading character, sings the song after being thrown into the cellar of a funeral parlour for getting into a fight with Noah Claypole, another servant of the undertaker. Later in the show a reprise is sung by Mr Brownlow's housekeeper, Mrs Bedwin.

In the 1968 musical film version of Oliver!, Where is Love? was performed onscreen by Mark Lester, whose singing voice was reportedly dubbed by Kathe Green (the daughter of the film's conductor and musical arranger, Johnny Green), though Lester was actually given credit on the soundtrack album.

The song was covered in the pilot episode of Glee by Ben Bledsoe and Stephen Tobolowsky. It was also featured over the end credits of the eleventh episode of the third season to AMC's Mad Men and sung by Hunter Metcalf at the Coffs Harbour 42nd annual Eisteddfod in the 8 years and under character song in costume. Hunter took out first prize in the category.

    Where is love
Does it fall from skies above
Is it underneath the willow tree
    That I've been dreaming of

    Where is he
Who I close my eyes to see
Will I ever know the sweet hello
    That's meant for only me

Who can say where he may hide
Must I travel far a-and wide
'Til I am beside the someone who
    I can mean something to

    Where, where is love
    Where, where is love

  • The Cactus Cuties Hit New York!

The Cactus Cuties' adventure in New York! They went on Rachael Ray and did awesome! This is one of the first performances with Makenzie Patton!

    Made by: Allison

From Cactus Cuties' dream of singing in New York City came true when they received an invitation to perform as guests on Rachael Ray. They arrived in New York City on the evening of Tuesday, September 21st, and checked into their hotel, The New York Helmsley Hotel. After getting settled into the hotel, they grabbed dinner on Times Square and headed to the Gershwin Theater. Cactus Cutie friend and web gal DeLynn Mull made arrangements for the Cuties to have a special backstage tour of the Broadway Musical, Wicked! The extremely excited Cuties met DeLynn's aunt Kathe, at the Gershwin stage door and began the tour. The Cuties were in awe as they stepped onto the massive stage and saw the great and powerful Oz head, the famous yellow brick road, and the shocking green baby! Kathe introduced them to Mandy Gonzalez, who stars in Wicked as Elphaba. Mandy invited the Cuties into her dressing room where she showed them her beautiful costumes and explained how she is greenified for the show. After visiting with Mandy, the Cuties continued the amazing tour. They loved visiting the wig room, where they saw incredibly gorgeous wigs and scary flying monkey heads. Kathe shared so many fascinating behind-the-scenes stories and facts with the Cuties, and the Cutie family will forever be grateful for the time Kathe spent with the star-struck Cactus Cuties on the set of Wicked! After hugging Kathe goodbye, the Cuties headed to New York's legendary Serendipity, for tasty treats. They ordered giant sundaes and frozen hot chocolates, savoring every bite! After dessert, they headed back to the hotel anticipating the coming day and Rachael Ray. The Cactus Cuties fell asleep thankful for DeLynn, her aunt Kathe, and the amazing folks at Rachael Ray, for day one of their New York dream come true!!!!

about the song,Getting to Know You,

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Getting to Know You

Song from The King and I

    Published 1951

    Writer Oscar Hammerstein II
    Composer Richard Rodgers

Getting to Know You is a show tune from the 1951 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King and I. It was first sung by Gertrude Lawrence in the original Broadway production and later by Marni Nixon who dubbed for Deborah Kerr in the 1956 film adaptation. In this show, Anna sings the song as she strikes up a warm and affectionate relationship with the children and the wives of the King of Siam.

This song is one of the few cases during the Rodgers and Hammerstein partnership when Rodgers re-used a melody he had written for an earlier show and then discarded. In this case the melody was a tune he wrote for South Pacific, called Suddenly Lucky, which he originally intended for the character of Nellie to sing but replaced it with the song (I'm in Love with) a Wonderful Guy. Mary Martin, the star of South Pacific, who had proposed that Rodgers should cast Yul Brynner as the King, reminded Rodgers of this tune, and so Hammerstein wrote new lyrics to it.James Taylor covered the song off of the children's music compilation called For Our Children.
