This was the opening track of her debut album The Kick Inside. It was also released as a single in Japan.

    Lyrics:

    Moving stranger,
    Does it really matter,
As long as you're not afraid to feel?
    Touch me, hold me.
    How my open arms ache!
    Try to fall for me.

    How I'm moved.
    How you move me
    With your beauty's potency.
    You give me life.
    Please don't let me go.
You crush the lily in my soul.

    Moving liquid--
Yes, you are just as water.
You flow around all that comes in your way.
    Don't think it over,
    It always takes you over,
    And sets your spirit dancing.

    How I'm moved.
    How you move me
    With your beauty's potency.
    You give me life.
    Please don't let me go.
You crush the lily in my soul.

    4:30

At the age of 19, Kate Bush topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks in 1978 with her debut single, Wuthering Heights and became the first woman to have a UK number one with a self-written song. Other well known songs of hers include The Man With The Child In His Eyes, Babooshka, Running Up That Hill, Don't Give Up and King Of The Mountain. A friend of mine once made an astute observation about her videos. We were watching a Kate Bush marathon and most of them were low budget and featured her doing modern dance in a leotard. Then we watched Running Up That Hill and my friend said Don't you get the feeling all of her earlier videos were trying to be like this one? How true. Enjoy! Thanks For Your Comments.

  • Kate Bush - And Dream of Sheep - Official Video

    3:42

This is a special piece of film to accompany the release of the live single ‘And Dream Of Sheep’. The vocal was performed live while filming Kate lying in the huge water tank at Pinewood Studios. This was to create a sense of realism, as the character in the song is lost at sea. However it became more realistic than Kate had imagined. She spent so long in the water during the first day of filming that she contracted mild hypothermia. She recovered after a day off and carried on filming. Everyone agreed it had added to the authenticity of the performance. This film was then projected onto a large oval screen which hung above the stage during the performances of her live show.

  • Peter Gabriel - Dont Give Up

    6:30

The official Don't Give Up video. Directed by Godley and Creme.

A standout track from Peter's fifth studio album and the first one to have a proper title: So was a watershed release in his career. Its marriage of the artistic and the commercial made for an indisputable success, with the album quickly sitting atop the album charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

Aside from some intriguing collaborations – with Laurie Anderson on This Is The Picture, Kate Bush on Don’t Give Up and Youssou N’Dour on In Your Eyes – it was the unity of singer, band and producer that made So such a crucial record in the Gabriel canon.

In this proud land we grew up strong
    We were wanted all along
I was taught to fight, taught to win
I never thought I could fail

No fight left or so it seems
I am a man whose dreams have all deserted
I've changed my face, I've changed my name
But no-one wants you when you lose

Don't give up 'cause you have friends
Don't give up you're not beaten yet
Don't give up I know you can make it good

Though I saw it all around
Never thought that I could be affected
Thought that we'd be last to go
It is so strange the way things turn
Drove the night toward my home
The place that I was born, on the lakeside
As daylight broke, I saw the earth
The trees had burned down to the ground

Don't give up you still have us
Don't give up we don't need much of anything
Don't give up 'cause somewhere there's a place where we belong

    Rest your head
    You worry too much
    It's going to be alright
    When times get rough
You can fall back on us
    Don't give up
    Please don't give up

Got to walk out of here
    I can't take anymore
Going to stand on that bridge
    Keep my eyes down below
    Whatever may come
    and whatever may go
    That river's flowing
    That river's flowing

    Moved on to another town
    Tried hard to settle down
For every job, so many men
    So many men no-one needs

Don't give up 'cause you have friends
Don't give up you're not the only one
Don't give up no reason to be ashamed
Don't give up you still have us
Don't give up now we're proud of who you are
Don't give up you know it's never been easy
    Don't give up 'cause I believe there's a place
    There's a place
    Where we belong

    Don't give up
    Don't give up
    Don't give up

  • Kate Bush -This Womans Work

    3:43

    This woman's work
    (Written by Kate Bush)

    Pray God you can cope.
I stand outside this woman's work,
    This woman's world.
Ooh, it's hard on the man,
    Now his part is over.
Now starts the craft of the father.

I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.

I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking

Of all the things I should've said,
    That I never said.
All the things we should've done,
    That we never did.
All the things I should've given,
    But I didn't.

    Oh, darling, make it go,
    Make it go away.

    Give me these moments back.
    Give them back to me.
    Give me that little kiss.
    Give me your hand.

I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.

I should be crying, but I just can't let it show.
I should be hoping, but I can't stop thinking

Of all the things we should've said,
    That were never said.
All the things we should've done,
    That we never did.
All the things that you needed from me.
All the things that you wanted for me.
All the things that I should've given,
    But I didn't.

Oh, darling, make it go away.
Just make it go away now.

There are many versions to this song, it was sung for famouses singers, In this video we can listen the version sweetly sung by Kate Bush.

Below lyrics origina English and Portuguese version.

    English version ( Original )

    Someday he'll come along
    The man I love
And he'll be big and strong
    The man I love
And when he comes my way
I'll do my best to make him stay
He'll look at me and smile
    I'll understand
    Then in a little while
    He'll take my hand
    And though it seems absurd
I know we both won't say a word
Maybe I shall meet him Sunday
    Maybe Monday, maybe not
Still I'm sure to meet him one day
Maybe Tuesday will be my good news day
    He'll build a little home
    That's meant for two
    From which I'll never roam
    Who would, would you
    And so all else above
I'm dreaming of the man I love

    Versão em Português :

    Algum dia ele virá
    O homem que eu amo
E ele será grande e forte
    O homem que eu amo
E quando ele vier na minha direção
Eu farei o meu melhor para fazê-lo ficar
Ele vai me olhar e sorrir
    Eu vou entender
