The Blackwater Fever - Dont Fuck With Joe Official Music Video

An adaptation of this track 'Don't Mess With Crow' is used for the open theme to a Discovery Channel series Clash of the Ozarks

    From the album The Depths

Don't Fuck With Joe from The Depths by The Blackwater Fever

Starring Steve Merry (The Fumes) as Joe
Co-starring Andrew Walter (The Blackwater Fever) as Victim

    Director: Shane Hicks
    Producers: FLOCK & Shane Hicks
Cameras: Ali Cameron, Rhys Jones, Stephen Cameron
    Driver: Paul McCann
    Editing: FLOCK & Shane Hicks
    Colour Grading: FLOCK

he’s run this town since time begun
like a barrel to the head from a loaded gun
he ain’t your friend and he ain’t your foe
but take heed now, don’t fuck with joe

takes his hammer, takes a stone
like a moth to a flame he will creep and crawl
to the light in the valley where you call it home
and break down your door when you’re sleeping sound

takes his cleaver, cuts your throat
a cold-hearted killer in a dark black coat
some say he’s the devil, just a bad mofo
one thing’s for sure you don’t fuck with joe

well there once was a trucker by the name of clyde
ran a little moonshine on the side
he knew damn well who owned that liquor store
but no one told him who wrote the law

found tied to a sleeper on the railroad track
it was the midnight train that broke his back
ain’t no way to die but then he shoulda had known
that he dug his grave when he fucked with joe

sue ray ran a house of ill repute
in the old shack down by the black bayou
had ’em lined up way round the bend
i think you know how the story ends

joe fucked her good with a shot to the head
her brains laid out all over the bed
he had no right to do the things he did
but if you fuck with joe you gonna wind up dead

you should’ve never stolen from butcher’s corner store
’cause now you find yourself upon the killing floor
his name’s on the wind, footsteps in the snow
i warned you three times already
i can’t warn you no more

so when he takes his hammer, takes a stone
breaks down your door while you’re sleeping sound
the light of the moon hits his cleaver to show
the red with anger, wild eyes of joe

    Lyrics //

I walked into the party. I seen somethin’ I never saw.
    Everybody was movin’ groovin’
Girls, they were dancin’ on the bar.
Now this wasn’t no ordinary dance.
(Hey man why is everybody swimmin’ in a trance?)
I couldn’t figure it out like your grandpa’s riddle,
I asked ‘em what they doin’ and they said Juicy wiggle!

(Now move your hips and dance like fish)

    Get juicy.
    Get juicy.
    Yeah, get juicy.
    Get juicy.
    Get juicy.
    Yeah, get juicy.

    Wooooo Weeeii!!
Now I done just lost my mind.
All those people wiggling they stuff.
(Hey man, you gonna do the dance?)
    Man turn down for what!?
Give me a shot (woo!) another shot (woo!)
Ya’ll ain’t ready for me to show you what I got. (woo!)
Then my body frozed up, it was getting to my head.
What if I can’t do it?  Then everybody said...

    Ahh, get juicy.
    Ahh, get juicy.
    Ahh, get juicy.
    Ahh, get juicy.

Two girls was shakin' it, I jumped in the middle
I asked em what we doin' and they said Juicy Wiggle!

    Get juicy.
    Get juicy.
    Yeah, get juicy.
    Get juicy.
    Get juicy.
    Yeah, get juicy.

Right about now, we really gonn’ have some fun! (oh yeah?)
I’m talking bout ticklin' ivory (woo!)
But first, I need some 151 and a match (Wooooo Wei!!)
It’s time to light it up, lets go now!

    Ahh, get juicy.
    Ahh, get juicy.
    Ahh, get juicy.
    Ahh, get juicy.

Ain’t nothin’ wrong with makin’ it jiggle,
So when the beat drops, everybody JUICY WIGGLE!!

    Get juicy.
    Get juicy.
    Yeah, get juicy.
    Get juicy.
    Get juicy.

So when the beat drops everybody Juicy Wiggle!

    Yeah baby

Billy Joe Walker, Jr. / Midnight Romance *k-kat blues & jazz café*

Billy Joe Walker, Jr. is a legend in the Nashville music scene as a top producer of primarily country music artists. His solo releases are very eclectic, and elements of jazz, country, folk, pop, and Latin influences can be found in his work. His steel string guitar playing is very soulful. Within the vast realm of jazz music, his musical style may be considered by some to be 'light' even though marketing categories such as Smooth or the now outdated Newage, relative to jazz music in general, do not do this man's music justice. He tells wonderful stories with his music, and that's what counts in any musical style. The magic is how he is able to communicate his impressions of people and places. - for example, you are suddenly drinking a cold one while admiring a beautiful ocean sunset and getting ready to party down on Duval Street later in the evening. His music really conveys a feeling, takes you somewhere, as all great music should.

    All my life
    Been hustlin
    tonight is my appraisal
Cause I'm a hooker sellin’ songs
And my pimp's a record label
This world is full of demons
Stocks & bonds & bible traders
    So I do the deed
    Get up and leave
    A climber and a sadist

Are you ready for the sequel
    Ain’t ready for the latest
    In the garden of evil
    I’m gonna be the greatest
    In a golden cathedral
I’ll be praying for the faithless
And if you lose, boo hoo

Hey look ma I made it
Hey look ma I made it
    Everything’s coming up aces, aces
If it’s a dream don’t wake me (don’t wake me)
Hey look ma I made it

    Friends are happy for me
    Or they’re honeysuckle phonies
    They celebrate my medals
Or they wanna take my trophies
    Some are loyal soldiers
While these other thorns are rosy
And if you never know who you can trust
Then trust me, you’ll be lonely oh

Are you ready for the sequel
    Ain’t ready for the latest
    In the garden of evil
    I’m gonna be the greatest
    In a golden cathedral
I’ll be praying for the faithless
And if you lose, boo hoo

Hey look ma I made it
Hey look ma I made it
    Everything’s coming up aces, aces
If it’s a dream don’t wake me (don’t wake me)
Hey look ma I made it

    Mama best believe it
    Mama best believe it
    Think I must be dreamin’
    Wide awake and dreamin’

Promethean Misery - Tied Up With Strings

Promethean Misery - Tied Up With Strings (New Full Album) 'Promethean Misery' is an ongoing tale of misery; a collection of pieces composed over many years by Australian solo artist Samantha Kempster. The use of piano, voice, violin, percussion, and other orchestral and distorted elements, are interwoven into melancholic melodies, and dark deep riffs. Each release features these instruments in different capacities, giving each release its own identity, while maintaining the melancholic feel. 'Promethean Misery' is melancholic dark music infused with elements of Doom Metal. After producing a very accomplished debut album in 2017 called Ghosts, the talented one woman band Promethean Misery has now returned with a sprawling, epic album. Oh yes, this one’s quite the monster. Whereas Ghosts was piano dominant, Tied up with Strings re-introduces us to the distorted violin sound that was such a pleasure to hear on Bloodlet.

So, we get 62 minutes of neoclassical doom metal, with an old-school heart and plenty of kick where it counts. Laced with despair and loss, this is rich, luscious music that tugs at the soul as it unfolds with melancholic grandeur and a keen sense of sadness and loss. The singer’s gorgeous voice sounds better than ever on this album. Heavy with emotion, and delivering a performance that perfectly suits the lugubrious music, her voice flows from the music like the softest of silks being drawn lovingly over sharp blades. A beguiling blend of metallic nous and classical expansiveness collide quite pleasurably on Tied up with Strings. The music’s doom metal is firmly rooted in the 90s, while being filtered through neoclassical style and grace. The end result is music that has a certain familiarity to it due to its influences, but is presented and delivered in such a way that speaks of more originality and creativity than what a lot of ostensibly similar bands are capable of.

The use of violin on this album is a success, making the most of the highly emotive instrument to craft affecting streaks of shaded colour seemingly out of the solid darkness that the forlorn heart of the music seems to reside in. Couple this with the almost omnipresent distorted elements, (which seem to have a softer edge than their guitar equivalents, despite still being exquisitely crushing when necessary), and you have an album that’s both pitch black and woven through with resplendent hues at the same time. Listening to Tied up with Strings is akin to experiencing a section of the night come alive and whisper lethal sweetness straight into your mind. A perfect storm of misery and woe, but in a good way. Essential listening for lovers of emotive darkness and affectingly immersive doom.

Gary B.B. Coleman - The Sky is Crying

    Album: Too Much Weekend
The sky is cryin....Can't you see the tears roll down the street
The sky is cryin....Can't you see the tears roll down the street
I've been looking for my baby
And I wonder where can she be
I saw my baby early one morning....She was walking on down the street
I saw my baby early this morning....She was walking on down the street
You know it hurt me, hurt me so bad
Made my poor heart skip a beat
I've got a real real real real bad feelin
That my baby she don't love me no more
I've got a real real bad feelin that my baby don't love me no more
You know the sky, the sky's been cryin
Can you see the tears roll down my nose

The Sky Is Crying is a song that has become a blues standard. It was written and recorded by Elmore James in 1959

Hobo Johnson & The LoveMakers - 2018 NPR Tiny Desk Contest

New album 'The Fall of Hobo Johnson' available September 13

from where I'm from, we use tables as desks.
Find Peach Scone (studio & live) everywhere:

    Sorry but- (Go ahead)
    Oh no
    What up, Bob? God, man
We're Hobo Johnson & Lovemakers, we're a couple kids - five I guess - that like to make a little bit of love, like to make a little bit of music. Look at that, it's a desk, just kidding Bob, it's a table. I don't care about rules!

    [Verse 1]
Hi, what’s your name? How are you? How’s your life?
Oh, you got a man? Are you in love? If so, what type?
Is it just platonic, strictly just as friends
Or the type that ties you two together 'til tomorrow’s end?
If it is, disregard every time I call you pretty
Though it’s meant sincerely it’s just my imagination drifting
Brush me off like the dirt on Jay-Z’s shoulders
So I fall to ground, collect myself and get ready to take over your heart
Or at least your spare time

And I love the thought of being with you
Or maybe it’s the thought of not being so alone
The second one’s way sadder than the first one
    But I don’t know
I love the thought of being with you
Or maybe it’s the thought of not being so alone
Man, fuck, I really love being in love
But I also really love not crying on the-

    [Verse 2]
We should go get a cup of coffee
And I’ll act friendly and I won’t pull any stunts
But I’m a freaking stunt puller from birth
So I don’t know what to tell you
If I try to confess my love for, scones
I just wanna tell you real quick please shh
    I love, these scones
Just the diversity between the selection
The raspberry, the blueberry, the strawberry, pumpkin, even
Which is basically a fucking squash
How do you even make a scone out of a freaking squash?
It blows my mind, oh man
But what are you talking about?
    I’m so sorry to interrupt
Oh yeah, your boyfriend made you mad the other day?
What was he saying? What was he talking about?
    Oh my god, that’s crazy
What do I think? Hm, let me think about it
Let me think about it, hm, hm, hm, hm, hm, hm
He was being mean at that time
But I’m sure he’s gonna turn around at some point, and

I love the thought of being with you
Or maybe it’s the thought of not being so alone
Man, I really love being in love
But I also really love not crying on the phone
Man, I love the thought of being with you
Or maybe it’s the thought of not being so alone
I don’t know, the second one’s way sadder than the first one
    But, I don’t know
    [Verse 3]
    Hi, wassup?
    Yeah, what’s going on?
Oh yeah, she told me a lot about you, yeah, uh huh
It’s so great that you’re doing all of those things
You should keep doing all of them I think
Oh yeah my name’s Hobo Johnson I’m a rapper
I’m actually not a rapper, I like to say a musician
I play guitar sometimes too I’m just not as good as Derek
    It doesn’t matter but
She is like the nicest person I’ve ever met in my whole life
And I’m sure you know it ‘cause you sleep next to her every night
And you guys would probably cuddle and kiss or whatever
But she, you know, she is just so sweet and she cared about me a lot when no one else cared about me and I think that’s really nice
Really you know, she’s just a, she's just a peach
    She’s a peach
    She's a peach scone, Bob

I love the thought of being with her
I just really hope that she doesn’t get hurt, man
They say it takes two years to come back down to earth
From that lovely place that you’ve been, I heard it’s so nice
I heard it’s so nice, good for you, I’m glad
And if you find someone that really loves you for who you are
    Keep being with them, man
‘Cause that’s what matters in this life, Bob
    Thank you

We were so deadass blown away by all the love for our new live performance video of our unreleased song “Peach Scone” that we wanted to thank you by giving you the song for free. Go to to scoop it up.

Gimmie a ticket for an aeroplane

Lonely days are gone, I'm a goin' home
My baby has just wrote me a letter

I don't get care how much money I gotta spend
Got to get back to my baby again

    (Intro) [Keith Leak Jr.]
    Talk that shit, Ted
    Yeah, talk that shit, nigga!
Man, they thought you was gon’ throw in the towel, huh?
They thought you was gon’ give up
    They got you fucked up!

Who out here thinking Teddy’s a liar?
    Ready, aim, fire...
I said that I’m coming to get it
Fell right in love with this shit, and
Teddy’s no son of a bitch
    I’m fed up 100%
    I let them get comfortable
They’re looking for somewhere to sit
I pull up a chair...then I pull it from under them
And they look up and stare...I say, “Who let this fucker in?” (who?)
I just want you to got too little fucks to give
You see, Teddy is rare, but when I’m rapping, they say, “Well done.”
Thought I couldn’t rap, but then they felt dumb (duhh)
“Thank you for your time,” well you’re welcome
This shit isn’t free, got on Spotify to sell some
Sitting on a gold mine with my own rhymes
    This whole time
A slow grind, and you know why, so don’t lie
One day you’ll be coming home from one of my shows
Your girl will hang her panties up to go dry on the clothes line, haha
    Back on my bullshit
    I’m cracking your skull, and
    They can’t get a pulse
Glass half full of Jack, and I’m packing a bowl with
Some gas, you don’t know, better ask a consultant
    I’m back on my bullshit
    I’m mad, and I’m hulkin’
    I’m bad at adultin’
    But Jacqulin Nichole, shit
I wish I was back there at home
    ‘Cause I know Mama’s back’s getting bad
Could you pass the results in... (please)
Instead, I’m acting a fool in LA
But I’m passionate, that is the culprit
...I hope my step-dad’s not insulted
I can’t come to visit the bunny rabbit and wolf
Here’s a get well soon card
    Guilt felt through art
If this was a business, I would get Yelp’d two stars
This review starts, “I will not sleep until in hell, you are
I...know you like to think that your shit don’t stink
But the shit smells ooh lawd
Trying to pick the bar up, but it fell too far
    Sit there, cool off
Tried to Put It On, took a Big L, you lost.”
    Nah, not giving up easy
Too many rappers ended up leaving
I won’t stop ‘til this city’s done sleeping
I’m coming like the women that I really love pleasing
This is more than some silly fun-seeking
But even though I am feeling uneasy
When I have made it, and I’m seen up on TV
You will see me happy, all teeth and gums, cheesing

    Memphis Piano Joe...Over The Rainbow

My instrumental piano version of Over The Rainbow, influenced by Jerry Lee Lewis' vocal version.

Written for the movie The Wizard Of Oz, this song was used early in the film when Dorothy (played by Judy Garland) longs to escape her dreary life on the farm in Kansas. A deeper interpretation can have Dorothy longing for heaven.
The music was written by Harold Arlen, The lyrics by Yip Harburg. They were asked to write this based on their previous hits, It's Only A Paper Moon, Brother, Can You Spare A Dime, and Lydia The Tattooed Lady.
Arlen came up with the melody while sitting in his car in front of the original Schwab's Drug Store in Hollywood. Harburg hated it at first because he thought it was too slow. After Arlen consulted with Ira Gershwin, he sped up the tempo and Harburg came up with the words.
The original title was Over the Rainbow is where I want to be.
A lot of effort went into the first line. Ideas that didn't make the cut included I'll go over the rainbow and Someday over the rainbow.
Some of the artists who recorded this include Glenn Miller, Bob Crosby, and Larry Clinton. (thanks, Steve - Torrance, CA, for above 4)
The lyrics have a political significance. Harburg was expressing hope for America under president Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal program, which was designed to get America out of the Great Depression in the early '30s.
This was almost cut from the movie. Some executives from MGM thought the film was too long and wanted this removed. They thought it slowed down the action too early in the movie.
This won an Oscar in 1939 for Best Original Song. Garland was urged to sing it when she accepted the award. She did, but had a hard time getting through it because she was so excited.
The film was nominated for 6 Oscars, but had the misfortune of being released the same year as Gone With The Wind, which won Best Picture. The Wizard Of Oz won only for this and Best Score, which was written by Herbert Stothart.
The movie was bought with the intentions of having Judy Garland play Dorothy, but then executives switched it to Shirley Temple after Judy was already given the role. Fox would not release Shirley Temple from her contract nor could she hit the notes to the songs.
In a 2001 poll conducted by the Recording Industry Association Of America and the National Endowment for the Arts, this was voted the #1 song of all time. The RIAA has it #1 on their list of the Songs of the Century, because of its historical significance.
During his 2001 world tour, Eric Clapton was known to play an acoustic blues version of this.
Tori Amos covers this at many of her concerts and did a version on her 1996 MTV Unplugged concert. (thanks, Kristy - La Porte City, IA)
Liza Minnelli, who is Garland's daughter, sang some of this to Michael Jackson at his 2001 tribute special.
Harry Connick Jr. sang this at the closing ceremonies of the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Dorothy Hamill skated while he sang.
Hawaiian ukulele musician Israel Kamakawiwo'ole recorded this in a medley with What A Wonderful World for his 1993 album Facing Forward. This version was used in the films Finding Forrester, Meet Joe Black, and 50 First Dates, as well as on the television show ER. Kamakawiwo'ole, more often known as IZ, was very obese, weighing about 750 pounds at one point, and he died from respiratory illness connected with his weight. His coffin rests in the capital building in Honolulu, the only non-politician of only 3 people to be honored like this. The Hawaiian state flag flew at half mast on the day of his funeral and thousands of fans came to see his ashes scattered into the ocean. (thanks, Koz - Chelsea, MI and Evan - Newport Beach, CA)
This song was used in an episode of the TV series Scrubs, where it was performed by Ted's band The Worthless Peons. The Worthless Peons are played by the real life band The Blanks. (thanks, Bob - Fort Phanton Hill, TX)
In 2001, the National Endowment for the Arts named this the top song of the 20th century, beating out White Christmas, which came in at #2. (thanks, Bertrand - Paris, France)

one Bourbon one Scotch one Beer - George Thorogood

    Wanna tell you a story,
    about the house-rent blues
    I come home one Friday,
had to tell the landlady I'd done lost my job
She said that don't comfort me,
long as I get my money next Friday
Now next Friday come I didn't get the rent,
and out the door I went

So I goes to the landlady,
I said, You let me slide?
I'll have the rent for you tomorrow.
the next day I don't know
So said let me slide it on you know people,
I notice when I come home in the evening
She ain't got nothing nice to say to me,
but for five year she was so nice
    Loh' she was lovy-dovy,
I come home one particular evening
The landlady said, You got the rent money yet?,
I said, No, can't find no job
Therefore I ain't got no money to pay the rent
She said I don't believe you're tryin' to find no job
Said I seen you today you was standin' on a corner,
    leaning up against a post
I said But I'm tired, I've been walkin' all day
She said That don't confront me,
long as I get my money next Friday
Now next Friday come I didn't have the rent,
and out the door I went

So I go down the streets,
down to my good friend's house
I said Look man I'm outdoors you know,
can I stay with you maybe a couple days?
He said Uh, Let me go and ask my wife
He come out of the house,
I could see in his face
    I know that was no
He said I don't know man, ah she kinda funny, you know
I said I know, everybody funny, now you funny too
    So I go back home
I tell the landlady I got a job, I'm gonna pay the rent
She said Yeah? I said Oh yeah
And then she was so nice,
    loh' she was lovy-dovy
So I go in my room, pack up my things and I go,
I slip on out the back door and down the streets I go
She a-hollerin' about the front rent, she'll be lucky to get any back rent,
she ain't gonna get none of it
So I stop in the local bar you know people,
I go to the bar, I ring my coat, I call the bartender
Said Look man, come down here, he got down there
    So what you want?

One bourbon, one scotch, one beer
Well I ain't seen my baby since I don't know when,
I've been drinking bourbon, whiskey, scotch and gin
Gonna get high man I'm gonna get loose,
need me a triple shot of that juice
Gonna get drunk don't you have no fear
I want one bourbon, one scotch and one beer
One bourbon, one scotch, one beer

But I'm sitting now at the bar,
I'm getting drunk, I'm feelin' mellow
I'm drinkin' bourbon, I'm drinkin' scotch, I'm drinkin' beer
Looked down the bar, here come the bartender
I said Look man, come down here
    So what you want?

One bourbon, one scotch, one beer
No I ain't seen my baby since the night before last,
gotta get a drink man I'm gonna get gassed
Gonna get high man I ain't had enough,
need me a triple shot of that stuff
Gonna get drunk won't you listen right here,
I want one bourbon, one shot and one beer
One bourbon, one scotch, one beer

Now by this time I'm plenty high,
you know when your mouth a-getting dry you're plenty high
Looked down the bar I say to my bartender
I said Look man, come down here, he got down there
So what you want this time?
I said Look man, a-what time is it?
He said The clock on the wall say three o'clock
Last call for alcohol, so what you need?

One bourbon, one scotch, one beer
No I ain't seen my baby since a nigh' and a week,
gotta get drunk man so I can't even speak
Gonna get high man listen to me,
one drink ain't enough Jack you better make it three
I wanna get drunk I'm gonna make it real clear,
I want one bourbon, one scotch and one beer
One bourbon, one scotch, one beer
