    Lyrics:

    People get ready
    There's a train a-coming
    You don't need no baggage
    You just get on board
    All you need is faith
    To hear the diesels humming
    Don't need no ticket
    You just thank the Lord

    People get ready
    For the train to Jordan
    Picking up passengers
    From coast to coast
    Faith is the key
Open the doors and board them
    There's room for all
    Among the loved the most

    There ain't no room
    For the hopeless sinner
Who would hurt all mankind just
    To save his own
    Have pity on those
    Whose chances are thinner
    Cause there's no hiding place
    From the Kingdom's Throne

  • Jeff Beck, Vinnie Colaiuta, Tal Wilkenfeld..

    Jeff Beck (guitarra)
    Tal Wilkenfeld (bajo)
    Vinne Colaiuta (bateria)

Geoffrey Arnold Jeff Beck (Sutton, 24 June 1944) is a British guitarist and singer.

It is one of the most influential of the sixties and seventies rock guitarists, as well as among the most important in the evolution of modern guitar, contributing to the definition of this tool in a broad spectrum of genres, including blues rock, heavy metal, fusion and hard rock.

Rolling Stone magazine placed him in fifth place of the most talented guitarists of all time
.Nato In Wallington, Beck was a child singing in churches and ten years had its first instrumental experience playing an old acoustic guitar. He began his career in the early sixties as a session musician. His first recording as a guitarist in 1964 for the label Parlophone in the same year released the single of The Fitz and Startz group titled I'm Not Running Away, starring So Sweet on side B. In 1965 he was recruited by the Yardbirds, who had just lost Eric Clapton, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers moved in. It was with the Yardbirds Beck who became a famous band on the British rock scene of the late sixties. Beck, in particular, proved a skilled showman and training, along with Jimmy Page, also it appears in the pivotal films of Swinging London: Blow-Up of 1966, in which the Yardbirds turned some sequences in which Beck smashes a guitar (for imitation of Pete Townshend of the Who, chosen at first for Antonioni's film).

In 1966 Beck shared its role of lead guitarist of The Yardbirds with Jimmy Page. The group was able to record a single album, Roger the Engineer (1966); after 18 months, citing health reasons, he abandoned.

    Lyrics:

    Purple Rain

I never meant to cause you any sorrow
I never meant to cause you any pain
I only wanted one time to see you laughing
I only want to see you laughing in the purple rain

    Purple rain, purple rain
    Purple rain, purple rain
    Purple rain, purple rain

I only want to see you bathing in the purple rain

I never wanted to be your weekend lover
I only wanted to be some kind of friend
Baby, I could never steal you from another
It's such a shame our friendship had to end

    Purple rain, purple rain
    Purple rain, purple rain
    Purple rain, purple rain

I only want to see you underneath the purple rain

Honey I know, I know, I know times are changing
It's time we all reach out for something new
    That means you too
You say you want a leader
But you can't seem to make up your mind
I think you better close it
And let me guide you to the purple rain

    Purple rain, purple rain
    Purple rain, purple rain

If you know what I'm singing about up here
    C'mon, raise your hand

    Purple rain, purple rain

I only want to see you, only want to see you
    In the purple rain

Beck was such a stickler for getting his solos perfect that he drove Martin batty. He would spend hours getting them just so and then a week later he would call Martin and say that he thought he could do better. The Hollywood Bowl is an amphitheater in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.

Audio-visual content administered by Eagle Rock.

    Lyrics:

    I'd Rather Go Blind

Something told me that it was over, baby, yeah
    When I saw you
When I saw you and that girl
    And y'all was talking

    Something deep down
Something deep down in my soul said
Go on, go on and cry, girl
When I saw you, when I saw you with that same person
    And y'all was walking around

    And I'd rather
I'd rather be a blind girl, baby, yeah, yeah
Than to see you walk away, walk away from me, baby
Don't leave me, I don't wanna see you go

'Cause you see, I love you so much
And I don't wanna watch you leave me
Don't wanna watch you leave me, baby
And another thing is, one more thing is
    I just don't, I just don't wanna be free
    Scared to be by myself

I was just, I was just sitting here thinking
About your sweet kiss and your, your warm embrace
    Hmm, your warm embrace
Hmm, yo, yo, warm, warm embrace

When I look down in the glass that I held to my lips
And I saw the reflection of the tears rolling down my face
That's when I knew I love you and I couldn't do without you
And I'd rather be a blind girl

    Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, babe, no, babe, oh, oh
Oh babe, all day sitting up
    Sitting up thinking about you

Myself, I don't wanna see you leave
    Please don't go
Oh, babe, no, babe, oh, babe
I'd rather be a blind girl

Something told me that it was over, baby
    When I saw you
When I saw you and that girl
    And y'all was talking

Something deep down in my soul said
Go on, go on and cry, girl
When I saw you, when I saw you and that girl
    And y'all was walking by

And I'd rather go blind, I'd rather go blind
    I'd rather go blind, babe
Than to see you walk away, walk away
Don't walk away 'cause I'd rather go blind

Sling Shot final song of the album Jeff Beck's Guitar Shop by Jeff Beck, released in 1989. I am very fond of this song because it was the first I heard of Jeff and since then I started to follow and appreciate this guitarist. I have to thank my brother for letting me hear the first time, if it was not for him, I probably would not know this talented musician.

Jeff Becks Guitar Shop is a 1989 album by guitarist Jeff Beck, recorded at Sol Studios. It prominently features Tony Hymas on keyboards and Terry Bozzio on drums. This album shows Beck largely trading in his jazz fusion sound for an instrumental album rock feel. It reached the 49th position on the Billboard 200 and won the 1990 Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. The final song on the album Sling Shot was featured in the movie Gremlins 2: The New Batch.

  • Jeff Beck - Becks Bolero HQ

    3:03

This is a revised version of the Jeff Beck instrumental using entirely different footage.

Jeff Beck was one of the three principal lead guitarists of The Yardbirds, the other two being Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page. In 1966, 1967 and 1968, Beck recorded his best-known album, Truth, with the help of Rod Stewart on vocals. The album was released in August 1968 and many may remember it for such blues rocking classics as I Ain't Superstitious and You Shook Me, a remake of the Yardbirds hit Shapes Of Things, and the ballad Morning Dew. As you may have guessed, I love the entire album, but one other track stands out like a beacon in the dark crying out Play me!: it is Beck's Bolero, the LP's only other instrumental aside from Greensleeves. For me, at least, Beck's Bolero may be one of the heaviest and most exciting deep cuts in rock history. If you don't have the album, this song is well worth the price of admission. And if this song doesn't make your heart race, you've got ice cubes for blood.
