  • A Bulgarian Rose- an extraordinary song Eng subs

    2:43

This is probably one of the most profound and beloved Bulgarian songs. Even though it is actually addressed to foreign people visiting Bulgaria, it usually brings tears to the eyes of all Bulgarians, but especially to those who live outside its borders and have not been home for a long period of time.
The song was originally performed by Pasha Hristova and its original name is Edna Bulgarska Roza (Една българска роза).

Pasha was an amazing Bulgarian singer, who tragically lost her life in a plane crash in 1971, when she was only 25.
Her lovely voice, combined with the beauty of the Bulgarian rose(Bulgaria's rose growing industry is very well known throughout the world) contribute to the uniqueness of this song.

    Enjoy and welcome to Bulgaria!

  • Bulgaria by train - Pernik/Sofia

    4:18

On my short visit to Bulgaria I travelled by train to Pernik. It's the most populated city in western Bulgaria after Sofia. In the 20th century Pernik developed rapidly as a centre for coal mining and heavy industry. During the Communist rule of Bulgaria it was called Dimitrovo between 1949 and 1962 after Bulgarian Communist leader Georgi Dimitrov.

Mostly I just take pictures while I'm on holiday. This time I wanted to experiment a little with a videocamera. In this part of the movie you can see what I saw, just staring out of the window of the train on my way back to Sofia. Bare trees in a desolate industrial landscape. For audio background I used a track of the vinylalbum I'd bought the other day (Pirin State Ensemble For Folk Songs And Dances ‎– From The Pure Sources), with an almost 'documentary effect' :-) as a result.

60 minutes of techno delivered direct from Torino
    More on Kappa FuturFestival:
    More Sam Paganini:

We'll also be bringing you sets from SOLOMUN & BEN KLOCK at Kappa FuturFestival

A bunch of house and techno heavyweights return to Kappa Futur Festival this weekend and Mixmag TV will be there to deliver some of the action to you.

The line-up includes Marco Carola, Ellen Allien, Sven Väth, Kerri Chandler and Nicole Moudaber back-to-back Skin to name a few.
With releases on Cocoon, Drumcode and Plus 8, Italian DJ/producer Sam Paganini has certainly made an impact in his relatively short time on the scene. He'll be providing the tunes on Saturday afternoon and we'll be on hand to bring you his set direct from the main stage, that unreal techno tunnel.

Directly after Sam we have one of the biggest names on the circuit, Solomun. With his hugely successful Ibiza residency and sell-out gigs worldwide, we will not be disappointed with what the Diynamic head honcho delivers.

We're also capturing one of the finest techno DJs out there, Ben Klock. He plays the main stage on Sunday evening and will no doubt be laying down two hours of raw, unadulterated, industrial techno. Ooof!

  • BULGARIA - You can’t help falling in love with her at first sight

    4:02

Bulgaria (/bʌlˈɡɛəriə, bʊl-/ (About this sound listen); Bulgarian: България, tr. Bǎlgariya), officially the Republic of Bulgaria (Bulgarian: Република България, tr. Republika Bǎlgariya, pronounced [rɛˈpublikɐ bɐɫˈɡarijɐ]), is a country in southeastern Europe. It is bordered by Romania to the north, Serbia and Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south, and the Black Sea to the east. With a territory of 110,994 square kilometres (42,855 sq mi), Bulgaria is Europe's 16th-largest country.

Organised prehistoric cultures began developing on current Bulgarian lands during the Neolithic period. Its ancient history saw the presence of the Thracians, Greeks, Persians, Celts, Romans, Goths, Alans and Huns. The emergence of a unified Bulgarian state dates back to the establishment of the First Bulgarian Empire in 681 AD, which dominated most of the Balkans and functioned as a cultural hub for Slavs during the Middle Ages. With the downfall of the Second Bulgarian Empire in 1396, its territories came under Ottoman rule for nearly five centuries. The Russo-Turkish War of 1877–78 led to the formation of the Third Bulgarian State. The following years saw several conflicts with its neighbours, which prompted Bulgaria to align with Germany in both world wars. In 1946 it became a one-party socialist state as part of the Soviet-led Eastern Bloc. In December 1989 the ruling Communist Party allowed multi-party elections, which subsequently led to Bulgaria's transition into a democracy and a market-based economy.

Bulgaria's population of 7.2 million people is predominantly urbanised and mainly concentrated in the administrative centres of its 28 provinces. Most commercial and cultural activities are centred on the capital and largest city, Sofia. The strongest sectors of the economy are heavy industry, power engineering, and agriculture, all of which rely on local natural resources.

The country's current political structure dates to the adoption of a democratic constitution in 1991. Bulgaria is a unitary parliamentary republic with a high degree of political, administrative, and economic centralisation. It is a member of the European Union, NATO, and the Council of Europe; a founding state of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE); and has taken a seat at the UN Security Council three times

    YODEL IT!
You never show the spark that makes you glow
You always run away, you always say no to the right things
Don´t try to hide... the light... inside of you
Today might be the day when you will make it baby

So bring it on, bring it on, I'm a dreamer
If you don´t believe it, come and see me I will teach you
If you never try, you'll never be alive
You are gonna miss out on this ride

    Yodeleeii......
    Yodele yodele oo
    Yodeleii.......
    Yodele, yodeleioo
    Yodeleeii
    Wanna hear this now
    Yodeleio
    Gonna act really crazy
    Yodeleeii
    Yodele yodeleioo
    Yodeleio

Now what´s the use of being so confused
Of doing all this work you really don´t want to be doing
But you´ll be fine, it´s time to feel alive
Don´t stop from reaching for the stars and keep on moving

So bring it on, bring it on, I'm a dreamer
If you don´t believe it, come and see me, I will teach ya
If you never try, you'll never be alive
You are gonna miss out on this ride!

    Yodeleii...................

Sitting alone at my desk on a 9 to 5 program, It just won't do
Get another coffee, get another one to make it through
    Don't want this anymore

Don´t you hide that light inside of you
Come and show me what you wanna do

If you're stuck in a place and it feels like shit
If you wanna run feeling like a misfit
    Come on sing along
    Come on sing this song
    Say 1, 2, 3, SAY

    Yodeleii............
    Just shout it, baby
    Yodeleiii.........
    Just shout it baby
    Yodeleeii
    Wanna hear this now
    Yodeleio

  • Electric Fields - 2000 And Whatever - SBS Eurovision: Australia Decides

    5:31

This is the performance that was televised live on the evening of February 9 2019. It's a better version, both musically and visually, than the recording SBS has uploaded to Youtube. That version must have been recorded the night before as part of industry judges' performance. Personally, '2000 and Whatever' was my choice to represent Australia at Eurovision 2019. I've uploaded it here to preserve a copy for myself and for anyone else who'd like to see it again.

  • Greg S - Regrets Bonzai Progressive

    6:13

    Beatport:

One of Belgium's much loved artists returns to Bonzai Progressive with (no) Regrets which comes backed up with a fine double remix from Stan Kolev. Greg recently signed to Bonzai and his debut slice Go Away was very well received indeed. After dreaming of working in the music industry from a young age, Greg realised his dreams when he became resident at several top clubs and soon he was a household name in the clubbing scene. He found himself wowing the crowds at Insomnia Nights and Magic. Other regular appearances on the festival scene include Illusion, Bonzai & Friends, Illusion at The Beach, Beachland, Retro Arena, Sunrise Festival, Sunset Festival and more. Greg has now started to organise his own events - Back and Forth and Eccentric where he plans to bring a wide selection of music to the masses. His style is a mixture of Deep House, Tech House, Nu Disco and Retro and wherever you hear him play you'll know just how much he loves spinning as he takes you to the floor.

The Original Mix intros with a crispy hi hat and sharp clap combi as striking vocal snippets come through. A powerful, pumping kick drum delivers a solid punch alongside a deep probing bassline and more of those cool vocal shots. Simple one note hits litter the sound as a mesmerizing staccato string fades in. The track breaks to reveal a perfect club style vocal which is accompanied by swelling pads for maximum effect taking us to the climax and back to full on mode. A fantastic slice of progressive house music that will most definitely keep the party rocking.

Miami-based DJ and producer Stan Kolev returns to Bonzai Progressive after his last outing - Circulation, with a double header remix. Over the years Stan has earned himself a place at the top of Progressive House music as a highly respected and in-demand producer. Moving to Miami from Bulgaria at an early age, Stan began producing in 1996 and by 2003 he already had a massive world-wide hit with De Moma De under the name Casa Flava, which also hit UK Top 40 Dance Chart. He has released more than 700 originals and remixes on the most respected record labels in the world. He has also taken his music outside the club scene by producing music for Porsche TV commercials as well as having a track featured on the hit TV series CSI: Miami for several years in a row. Always a pleasure to have him here at BP. On the remix here Stan opens with a nice crunchy bass sound before a muted kick drum and shuffling hi hat takes over. Rising pads fade in along with cool percussions to form a cool rhythm. The beats are beefed up leading the way for the sub level rolling bassline that dominates the low end. Subtle musical notes enhance the pads and on the break a touch of melancholy comes through contrasting with the striking vocal. After a smooth climax we head back to the main groove for the duration. Not to be missed. Stan also provides a Dub version with the vocal stripped out for the deeper sets.

  • The B. h. H. with Ardath Bey - Bulgarian Hip Hop

    4:22

    Audio only, 1988,

B.H.H. stands for Bulgarian Hip Hop and is a project produced by German synthpop group Bamboo Industry in coorperation with the Choir RTB from Sofia and the Smolyan Folk Ensemble which are both parts of the Bulgarian State Radio & Television Female Vocal Choir better known as Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares.

The original version of the track Bulgarian Hip Hop appeared first on the Shake Your Seoul (Kunst-Disco Seoul 1988)-compilation under the name of Bamboo Industry only.

Their track had been discovered by WestBam who has remixed it and placed it on his 1st Teutonic Beats-compilation and made the track one of the key tracks of the whole Teutonic Beats-genre - a musical style that is often called The German New Beat.

The track itself is based on the Bulgarian traditional Erghen Diado (Song Of Schopsko) which also appears on the 1st album of Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares.

On the sleeve and labels of this release the main artist appears as The B.H.H. with Ardath Bey. Ardath Bey is one of the two caracters that Boris Karloff played in 1932 in the classical movie The Mummy. By now it is unclear who stands behind this alias.

Pre order the record now or pick a from our rewards:

We are an International 10 piece formed of Musicians, Producers, Vocalist’s & MC’s. So far we have three official releases, receiving acclaim from BBC 1 Extra, BBC 6 Music, Radio 2 Jazz, Craig Charles, David Rodigan, Huey Morgan, Songlines Magazine, The Independent, The Guardian and more. Having spent 5 years grafting our place in the UK/ European music scene and refining our sound, we are ready to make our most important record yet.

After a whole year of writing new material we can’t wait to show the world our next offering. A sound that finds itself at home in the UK jazz scene, fused with influences from Mali, Ghana and Nigeria, all with a nod to UK dance music and analogue dub processing. Aside from the 10 musicians in the Nubiyan Twist family we have been collaborating with international vocalists such as K.O.G (Ghana) and Dessi Stefanova (Bulgaria). A musical synergy of different cultures, deep grooves and improvisation. The concept of the album reflects the music with ideas of collectiveness and individuality: connecting different people and cultures whilst exporing the journey of an individual.

Todays music industry is a difficult place for up-and-coming artists who often have to cover the costs for developing/ recording/ mixing/ mastering/ manufacturing and promoting their music. • Metallicas Kirk Hammett: Internet DESTROYED the Music Industry!

    17:17

Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett shared a few grim thoughts while discussing internet and online piracy, stressing his resentment of social networks along the way.

Describing the piracy as too big of a beast to control, Kirk told Noisey: The best thing to do is to try to put a positive spin on it and embrace it for what it is because it's still keeping our music alive and out there, and people are still hearing us and listening to us. We're just learning how to roll with the changes.

The whole piracy thing, the whole internet thing, really destroyed the record industry, and it ended up changing music and the way it even sounds. Now, it just seems like there's less of a drive to be the best musician you can be or the best band that you can be because you can record anything, and put it out there, and people will say, 'Hey, that's great!' or, 'No, that sucks,' whatever.

It used to be that you had to really work hard to earn the respect selling albums, competing with all the other great bands making great albums - that just doesn't exist anymore. Everyone just kinda throws an album out there and it kinda just floats around in the cyber-world. What I miss is, there was a time when people would rally behind bands.

When an album came out, it was a huge event that everyone spoke about, and you'd go down to the record store and see other people buying it and other people excited, and, 'Have you heard this yet!?' 'No, I haven't!' - all that is gone now because of the internet. The convenience of it is great but it really put a big fuckin' kibosh on all that shit. Maybe I'm lamenting that a little bit, but it was a great time to be a musician, or a fan, and now because of this culture of convenience we have, it's just changed differently.

  • Greg S - Regrets Bonzai Progressive

    7:21

As a natural extension to the great experience I had while starting a new chapter of my life, this video is continuation of myself. An attempt on expressing my fiction of an idea. With this video I aimed to add dimension to the sound and transcend the ideology of the track beyond just music. Hope you would like it as much as the track and support it on Beatport.

    Much love, Pavel Petrov ツ
