Lynwood Slim and Friends honoring Kid Ramos

    10:31

The very best of Southern California came out with love & support of their good friend Kid Ramos and put on a day of entertainment that Heaven undoubtedly heard. If good vibes can heal, cancer doesn't stand a chance with that man! This footage features the amazing lungs and joyful capabilities of sax players Troy Jennings and Ron Dziubla, the fiery fretwork of Tommy Harkenrider, and the rarely seen, much appreciated guitar talents of Larry Taylor who added just the right amount of color to the song. Nice that another great bass player, John Bazz, was in the house to allow Larry to mix it up and do that. With the best of the best, Mr. Richard Innes on drums, Fred Kaplan brings it all home perfectly in this10:30 minutes of sheer joy. (Sure was nice to have Larry Taylor to go to when the crowd got in the way...guaranteed great visual and audio with him!!) A real treat of a day! Believe it or not this was shot at in the middle of the day, the show started at 2pm!! These guys are so good they bring on the night!! :)
(Sorry it shakes in spots, the place was happily packed which can make for difficult filming, but a lot of smiles!)
Fans are encouraged to send your best wishes to Kid. Donations can also be made out to David Ramos c/o Delta Groove Music 16501 Sherman Way, Suite 100, Van Nuys, CA 91406 and will be forwarded to Kid and his family. He is so worthy of our love and support as he fights this battle.

Sweet Home Chicago Henry Gray, with Bob Corritore & Bob Margolin Live on BRI TV

    4:15

At age 90, Blues piano legend Henry Gray has yet to slow down. Accompanied by harp great Bob Corritore, Henry arrived at the Blues Radio International Blues Music Awards mobile studio at 10 am sharp, dressed to kill, and ready to play. After a quick phone call, Bob enlisted another legend, Bob Margolin, to join BRI for this exclusive session.

Henry has recorded albums and performed with, among others, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Homesick James, Robert Lockwood, Jr., Billy Boy Arnold, Muddy Waters, Johnny Shines, Hubert Sumlin, Lazy Lester, Little Walter Jacobs, Otis Rush, Buddy Guy, James Cotton, Little Milton Campbell, Jimmy Rogers, Jimmy Reed, and Koko Taylor.

Here is “Sweet Home Chicago,’ recorded on May 5, 2016.

Sadly, Henry lost his home in the recent flooding in Louisiana. If you would like to join us in assisting Henry in this dire situation, even a small contribution to the GoFundMe page set up to help Henry would mean a lot.

Thanks to our friends Bob Margolin and Bob Corritore for accompanying Henry.
