  • Glenn Frey Death Remembered - Timothy B Schmit Peaceful Easy Feeling Dedication

    4:18

Eagles bassist Timothy B Schmit on acoustic guitar dedicates Peaceful Easy Feeling in memory of Glenn Frey on the two year anniversary of the passing of Eagles co-founder. Peaceful Easy Feeling was written by Jack Tempchin. Glenn Frey sung lead on the Eagles debut album in 1972.

Watch Cal Vid Playlist for more of Timothy B. Schmit live in concert at The Canyon, Agoura Hills, Los Angeles County, CA on January 8, 2017

Timothy B. Schmit opened up about bandmate Glenn Frey dying in an August 2016 interview with Rolling Stone. He's dead. It's unbelievable, he says. It didn't happen that long ago. Everybody is still processing it. But part of processing it is carrying on.

[The Eagles] haven't done anything since he passed, Schmit continues. Nobody's really doing his songs, unless there's a tribute show once in awhile. But I do hear it on the radio. Just now, I stopped thinking about it every day, but I think about this whole thing often. When you started talking about it, I was startled to the fact that he's really gone.

The Eagles have since reformed with members Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, along with Vince Gill and Glenn Frey's son, Deacon. The group begins a North American tour starting March 12, 2018 in Indianapolis.

Glenn Frey's widow sued the hospital and physician for wrongful death. Cindy Frey claims Mount Sinai, gastroenterologist failed to properly treat musician's fatal stomach ailment. Frey died on January 18, 2016 from complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis – an inflammatory bowel disease – and pneumonia. Cindy Glenn Frey is seeking unspecified damages for pain and suffering, wrongful death and the loss of services of a spouse.

  • Its Official Glenn Frey’s Son to Join the Eagles Says Don Henley

    4:56

It's Official Glenn Frey’s Son to Join the Eagles
Chuck Nowlin of Boston's classic rock station WZLX caught up with Don Henley of the Eagles yesterday and said that there would be a big 70th birthday bash for him in Dallas with Joe [Walsh] and Timothy [B. Schmit] and [Stevie] Nicks where they will sing their hit duet “Leather and Lace.”

The real question was who would sings the late Glenn Frey's vocals at the big Classic East and Classic West music festivals this summer. Yesterday all he told Nowlin was it would be someone in the Eagles' family but he did come out and tell Dallas radio station KTCK that, like rumors suggested, Frey's son Deacon would try to fill those big shoes.

Henley said, “There’s going to be an official announcement in a few days but let’s just do it here. Glenn’s son Deacon is a very talented young man, and he seems to be up for the task. He’s enthusiastic about it and he’s been working real hard on it, and he’s gonna do it with us. I think that’s appropriate.”

The drummer/singer described “an old system both in Eastern and Western culture called the guild system, where the father is the master and the son is the apprentice. The trade, the craft, the business is handed down from father to son. I think it’s the only appropriate way to carry on. I don’t think I’d do it otherwise. Since it’s Glenn’s blood, it’s his son, I think that’s appropriate. There’ll be one more musician along for the ride too, but I’m not gonna say who that is.”

The first two shows – since there could be more are at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on July 15-16 and Citi Field on July 29-30 in New York.

    Letra:

The heat is on, on the street
Inside your head, on every beat
And the beat's so loud, deep inside
The pressure's high, just to stay alive
    'Cause the heat is on

    Oh-wo-ho, oh-wo-ho
Caught up in the action I've been looking out for you
    Oh-wo-ho, oh-wo-ho
(Tell me can you feel it)
(Tell me can you feel it)
(Tell me can you feel it)
The heat is on, the heat is on, the heat is on
Oh it's on the street, the heat is on

    Oh-wo-ho, oh-wo-ho
Caught up in the action I've been looking out for you
    Oh-wo-ho, oh-wo-ho
(Tell me can you feel it)
(Tell me can you feel it)
(Tell me can you feel it)
The heat is on, the heat is on, the heat is on
Oh it's on the street, the heat is on

The shadows high on the darker side
Behind those doors, it's a wilder ride
You can make a break, you can win or lose
That's a chance you take, when the heat's on you
    When the heat is on

    Oh-wo-ho, oh-wo-ho
Caught up in the action I've been looking out for you
    Oh-wo-ho, oh-wo-ho
(Tell me can you feel it)
(Tell me can you feel it)
(Tell me can you feel it)
The heat is on, the heat is on, the heat is on
Oh it's on the street, the heat is on

    It's on the street
The heat is on, the heat is on, the heat is on
    Yeah it's on the street
    The heat is on
