    Lyrics

I'm traveling down the road an? I'm flirting with disaster
I've got the pedal to the floor an? my life is running faster
I'm outta money outta hope it looks like self destruction
Well how much more can we take with all of this corruption

We?re flirting with disaster, ya'll know what I mean
And the way we run our lives it makes no sense to me
I don?t know about yourself or what you wanna to be, yeah
When we gamble with our time we choose our destiny

I'm traveling down that lonesome road.
Feel like I'm draggin? a heavy load.
Yet I've tried to turn my head away,
Feel about the same most every day
You know what I'm talkin? about man

Speeding down the fast lane an? honey we?re playing from town to town
The boys and I been burning it up can't seem to slow it down
I got the pedal to the floor our lives are running faster,
We got our sight set straight ahead but I ain't sure what we're after

We?re flirting with disaster ya'll damn sure know what I mean.
You know the way we run our lives it makes no sense to me

Flirting with Disaster - Were Anything but Sane

    2:55

    Flirting with Disaster's debut video.

    Lyrics:
I'm down again, and I can't seem to pick myself up off this floor.
Could it be I'm just not meant for this world anymore?
Or even worse feels like I'm giving in.

Still I tell myself that things are gonna' be alright,

    Chorus:
Although I know, we're anything but sane,
There ain't no rhyme or reason, its just whatever I'm feelin'
The way I see, I wont let it define me,
this bitter-sweet life I seek, keeps me on my feet

    Verse 2:
I'm a dark cloud again, and it just feels like the world is falling on my head.
Every day feels like a struggle to get out of bed,
cause I look at myself and I don't know what I see.

Still I tell myself that things are gonna' be alright

    Chorus 2:
Although I know were anything but sane,
the feeling never goes away and you know I wont complain
The way I see, I won't let it define me, this bitter life that I seek, keeps me on my feet

    Bridge:
Again I get the feeling, like everyone's been cheating, and I'm left on my own.
Why can't I shake the feeling, like everyone's misleading, with hearts cold as a stone.

    Chorus.

Flirting with Disaster - Catastrophizing Lyric Video

    1:29

Flirting with Disaster's Catastrophizing out now on bandcamp

    catastrophize
    kəˈtastrəfʌɪz/
    verb
    gerund or present participle: catastrophizing

view or present a situation as considerably worse than it actually is.
traumatic experiences can predispose people to catastrophize

    Lyrics

    Verse 1:
Voices start their whispering, it pulls apart my everything
logic's thrown out the window, should I take control, or let it go?
Promises that I can't keep, mending hearts begin to bleed,
I'm sorry I'm not strong enough, I'm not the diamond - I'm the rough

    Chorus 1:
And I'm Bored - Bored as can be.
    Misery's my only company

    Verse 2:
She's telling me, I mean something, but how exactly can that be?
When every stupid thing I think, I believe wholeheartedly
So I'll pretend that I'll be fine, fake a smile - as I decline,
To the pit of all my thoughts, heading to my last resort and I'm

    Chorus 2:
    Bored, Bored as can be.
    Misery's my only company.
And I'm lost, but don't look for me
Cause I can't stand the thought of sympathy. I'm a catastrophe.

Soma are proud to present the debut album from one of the most exiting Techno artists to spring out of the French scene in recent years, Charles Fenckler. A chance happening across his Soundcloud heralded some fine results for the Soma camp as back in 2014, the 20 year old Fenckler, exploded onto the label with the finely produced ‘Anklam’. Sporting such a mature sound for someone so young, his profile has been creeping up over the past 2 years, quickly gaining fans throughout the Techno community such as Jeff Mills, Marcel Dettmann, Josh Wink & Alan Fitzpatrick. His latest release in early 2016, Frozen Room saw him return to form after a short hiatus with the title track taking the scene by storm. With his debut album, Diving From The Void, Fenckler looks to continue his meteoric rise through electronic music.

Fenckler takes a heady dive straight into things as opener Voices In Your Head, with it’s droning yet uplifting quality, seeps eerily through before Immersion starts to up the pace of the album, it’s pounding kicks and percussive workouts sitting atop a glistening, acidic melody. Charles continues on an old school tip as the wild Stellar Acid comes hard and fast, complete with powerful breakdown moment. The rave inspired Frozen Room, already a massive hit from the youngster, clatters in once again as Charles then give a nod to UK-breakbeat with the contemplative Estrange. Things get back to techno business quickly as Flirting with Disaster & Subject X103 come thundering through but still, Charles brings an emotive element with both tracks laden with polished, ethereal pads. Originally released in 2015, District Two makes an appearance with its straight up, driven 909 percussive workout. The Unknown brings an air of minimalism with its sparse synths and groove laden drums whilst Anxiety’s sweeping drones and foreboding atmospheres follow before
the galloping Raven closes out the album at a ferocious pace

Charles has certainly explored all facets of Techno throughout this album and for someone still with much ahead of him, the future is certainly looking bright for this talented young Frenchman.

Molly Hatchet Flirtin with Disaster - guitar solo

    2:30

Learn how to play Flirtin with Disaster at Here it is first played through with background music, then without. If you listen closely, you'll notice on the take with no background music, I actually recorded it twice - a common technique used by guitarists (think Randy Rhodes for one) to thicken up the sound. But you actually have to play it twice so there are some minute differences. You can somewhat thicken up the sound with a quick delay, but not as much as there are no true differences. For example, in the bends there are obviously more chances for minute differences to come through.

Defiance: Flirting With Disaster - jAaM Session

    4:12

I liked this song when I heard it play during episode 11 of Defiance. The version of the this song on the soundtrack, however, is completely in English. One of my favorite things about Defiance is that the show has it's own Alien languages, and uses them in many of the songs heard in the show.
So I took the chorus from the episode being sung in Irathient or Castathan, and merged it together with the original version. And then made this video to go with it. Please Enjoy!

    Flirtin With Disaster Bass Cover

    4:59

    RIP Banner Thomas

Today is the one year anniversary of the death of Banner Thomas, a founding member and bassist for the band, Molly Hatchet.

The song is the title track of Molly Hatchet’s album, “Flirtin’ With Disaster”, which came out in1979.

The first band I was in played quite a bit of Southern Rock, mostly Lynyrd Skynyrd. When this song came out, I remember thinking that Molly Hatchet seemed to be trying to ride on Skynyrd’s coat tails a bit with this new, heavier Southern Rock. What did I know? I guess we were going to try and play the song, as I remember attempting to learn it and having a pretty hard time of it. It had this shuffle-thing going on and lots of little “pick-up” notes that proved a little too tricky for me to grasp at the time. I still find it tricky. One thing that I thought was really cool was how (during the pre-chorus?) the bass stayed on the B/5th/octave and the guitar chords moved around it. I think that may have been the first time I had ever heard something like that, or took notice of it anyway. It seemed like voodoo to me, like, “How could that work?”. The bass plows ahead rhythmically as well. I found that if I concentrated on that part too much, or too little, I’d screw it up. This would explain the look on my face during these parts of the song.

On a personal note, Lynn and I happen to be well acquainted with Bill Frazetta who owns a “Horror Shop” in Milford, PA, Frazetta’s Fantasy Corner. We’ve been going there for well over 20 years and Bill is a great guy who loves horror. Anyway, Bill’s father is the late, Frank Frazetta who did the artwork for the first three Molly Hatchet albums and is widely known as the creator of the “fantasy art” genre.

I’m playing the Ol’ Guild B-301 that’s been fitted with a Zero-Mod Thumbrest.

Molly Hatchet - Flirtin With Disaster

    4:59

Molly Hatchet is a southern rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1971. They are widely known for their hit song Flirtin' with Disaster from the album of the same title. The band, founded by Dave Hlubek and Steve Holland, took its name from a prostitute who allegedly mutilated and decapitated her clients.

Flirtin' With Disaster is the only single from the band's second album, Flirtin' with Disaster. The song remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for 10 weeks, peaking at 42. The song is Molly Hatchet's most famous, and has appeared in the film The Dukes of Hazzard, and the video games NASCAR 98 and Rock Band. It also appeared in My Name Is Earl and King Of The Hill.

yeah, good ol' southern rock tune.
    cool triplet feel n' all.

i've been practicing this song for less than 2 days, less than 1 if you combine the few short practice sessions.
and yes i know it shows. i'm aware it sucks, but i was bored and if it's really that bad i'll take it down so whatever.
yeah, and i know i missed the ending and sorry for the short skip in sound at the end, my recording equipment is older than me (by a lot).
    Enjoy!
