    Irene Shams añade a su formación de base clásica (profesora titulada de piano, solfeo y composición), estudios jazzísticos y etnomusicológicos. Se define como cantante, directora y docente, ámbitos que desarrolla actualmente en distintas esferas musicales.
    Atraída desde pequeña por las músicas de tradición oral de todo el mundo, (lo que le lleva a acercarse a la música cubana, húngara y búlgara, entre otras) estudia etnomusicología durante 2 años en el Conservatorio Superior de Müsica de Salamanca. En los años noventa toma contacto con la danza y músicas egipcias, lo que le abre la puerta a las músicas del Magreb y del Masriq. Ha asistido a seminarios y clases de música (Madrid y El Cairo) de:
    Madame Fatme Serham, Khamis Henkes, Maher Kamal, Ali Khatabb, Wael el Nagger, Ahmed Abdel Hattab (Egipto) Hassun, Haki Killic (Siria), David Mayoral (España)..
    En 2003 diseña e imparte el primer curso a nivel nacional de músicas árabes, orientado a bailarinas de raqs sharki-danza oriental en España, junto a la bailarina y coreógrafa Nesma, en la prestigiosa academia AL Andalus. Es profesora desde 2008 del Al Andalus Teacher Certificated Program, programa internacional de 2 años para profesoras de danza oriental y folklore en el que aborda temas como el ritmo, análisis y audición, sistemas melódicos y maqam, organología, historia, géneros, etc. dentro de las músicas árabes e islámicas. Es así mismo profesora invitada del festival de música y danza Raks Madrid, que reúne a músicos y bailarines de todo el mundo.
    Funda junto a Nesma el grupo Alkobry (El Puente), que pretende ser un puente entre el flamenco, el jazz y la música árabe, y en el que es directora, arreglista, compositora, cantante y acordeonista del grupo.

    Como directora ha trabajado durante más de 15 años con distintas agrupaciones vocales e instrumentales. Actualmente es directora del Coro de Gospel y Música Moderna de la Universidad COmplutense de Madrid y del Coro Orange, formado por trabajadores de la misma compañía.Con una experiencia pedagógica de casi 20 años, actualmente es además profesora de canto e improvisación vocal.

    A su carrera y formación jazzística han contribuído músicos de la talla de Bobby Mcferrin, Deborah J. Carter y Horacio Icasto, entre otros (Kurt Elling, Wendy Parr, Roberta Gambarini, Anita Wardell, etc). Como cantante de jazz y latin ha participado en distintos festivales de jazz: Complujazz, Festival de Jazz de Boadilla del MOnte, Festival de Jazz de Oviedo, etc. En estos momentos se encuentra preparando y componiendo nuevos trabajos y escribiendo su primer libro.

    This is a video I made in iMovie of Kelly Clarkson doing vocal runs and acrobatics. She's not a massive coloratura riffer, but she makes good use of the technique. She can sing up to about 5 notes in less than a second and clearly articulate each note, which is quite impressive. She can also riff into any part of her range as well, so she's pretty darn good. My favorite riffs are the ones from Maybe, Baby Blue Eyes, Why Don't You Try and Behind These Hazel Eyes. If you want to know the name of a song here, comment and I'll tell you! This is a great performance with awesome riffs that I didn't see until after I uploaded:
    I might try to do a revamp of this once some more suggestions pour in.
