    Enrico Sangiuliano - Symbiosis - Drumcode - DC190 III - Metamorphosis

    8:54

    Buy: bit.ly/DC190BP

Drumcode has become a label synonymous with some of the most-cutting edge and forward-thinking techno over the last 20 years. Their artists include both emerging and established names, and one of those well recognised is Enrico Sangiuliano. Now announcing the very first concept album of his career.

The prolific Italian producer has been catapulted into the limelight after the runaway success of his past releases, and now Biomorph is born.

A very special concept album designed to take the listener on a journey of evolution. A musical adaptation describing how biological and technological advances over numerous generations of time have all started from the same first step in our own biological journey.

Divided into 4 parts, Organisms opens with atmospheric tones, gradually blending complex textures and timbres to begin the evolutional process. The beginning of this section combines full sounding arrangements before stripping it all back to basics. From here it dissolves into the atmosphere. Organisms then progresses into a break-beat influenced, down tempo track using synths to add complexity to the straight, broken rhythms.

Galactic, futuristic elements are found in both tracks in Cosmic Forces. Upbeat, groovy, electronic synths resonate, before ‘Hidden T’ brings the tension to get things pumped up with stratospheric swirls and twirls to lay down one of the most mind meltingly deep drops.

Metamorphosis is mysterious, its opening beat is a deep and piercing tone that sends the listener into a sensory awareness of their surroundings before breaking into a fully charged, techno track, with Enrico’s trademark sounds and textures.

    All evolution has an ending.

Two Probabilities shows the positive, starting out evocative and emotional, with a gentle harmony, gazing towards a ‘New Dawn’. On the other side of the spectrum lies the negative. This is influenced with a rhythm that articulates the beat of death, mathematical, cold and metallic in texture, it shows the unsustainability of its nature, with a hectic, anxious break beat influenced ending.

The digital version also features a bonus track; 'A Further Existence'.

    CJ Bolland & The Advent — Camargue 2019 — Drumcode — DC210

    8:15

‘Camargue’ gets a fresh treatment on Drumcode, as a handful of techno’s finest give new life to an R&S classic.

Coming from the studio of CJ Bolland and Portuguese journeyman The Advent, the track was born out of a golden age of Belgium dance music and first released in 1992. It stands as one of the most treasured pieces of vinyl in Adam Beyer’s collection and this six-part compilation of remixes and remakes marks a highpoint in Drumcode’s history.

The package consists of a punchy pin-sharp 2019 version of the original, as CJ Bolland and The Advent polish the edges of their time-honoured rave favourite. Maceo Plex makes his return to DC after 2014’s ‘Conjure Dreams’ and his is a bustling industrial take, with distorted vox that gives way to sheaths of stirring melody, before the spine-tingling chords enter the fore and the cut drops into broken beats. Vintage Maceo. Enrico Sangiuliano delivers a trademark cosmic rework underlined by tribal bass stabs and twisted synth lines to accompany the famous riff. It’s an outstanding remake that’s already a big summer favourite for the Drumcode crew. Adam Beyer and Layton Giordani team up with their own groove-injected, future-focused adaption, all the while never losing sight of the misty-eyed spirit of the original. In contrast to the peak-time prowess of the other respective versions, rising Dutch talent Keith Carnal moulds a liquid smooth interpretation heavy on hypnosis and sparse drums. The Advent rounds out the package with his own fresh version, a whip-smart cut that chops and changes between pounding drums, dreamy synth interludes and warbled effects.

“Camargue is one of my favourite tracks of all-time and has been part of my life for 25 years. To put it out on Drumcode with fresh remixes is a dream come true.” – Adam Beyer

Enrico Sangiuliano Techno Set Live from #DJMagHQ

    1:26:28

    Subscribe to DJ Mag TV:

Born in Reggio Emilia, Italy, the exact period of which is not yet known to experts.
Little Enrico spent his childhood manifesting a particular adoration for percussion, creating real performances on pots and pans, school benches, traffic signs, and the drums. After hitting any kind of existing material he realized that with computers he could create sounds on surfaces unknown to reality and could make them reverberate in virtual non-existent spaces.

Enrico began his career through illegal rave parties. He has played in the most important raves created in Italy in the last 11 years, earning space thanks to his numerous unreleased productions that became party hits. In recent years he has started putting his releases out into the international techno scene.

In 2009 he sent his first demo and got 2 tracks released and remixed by the Swedish duo Hertz.
In 2010 he won the Beatport D-Nox & Beckers Remix Contest and released his Call Me Remix on Baroque Records.
In 2011 he won the Mauro Picotto's Alchemy Festival & Competition” with the song HMI and thanks to its live performance at Alchemy Festival (Turin, Italy).
In 2012, as part of the Alchemy team, he continued to collaborate with Alchemy Records releasing Mechanisms Of Utopia EP and Joga Bola Remix for Mauro Picotto.
The 'greatest thing' about 2012 was a collaboration with Frankyeffe. Released on Adam Beyer's Truesoul in vinyl Consciousness EP was played everywhere by Sven Vath and used in the soundtrack in the Time Warp Holland video.
In 2013 he secured his producing skills on the most prominent of techno labels in the scene: the strong Octopus Recordings, Secret Cinema's Gem Records, Jewel Kid's Alleanza and the Austrian Driving Forces.
In 2014 we have to expect something really great.
There are already two new production bases for 2014: Stephan Bodzin's Herzblut and the Belgian Rhythm Converted run by Tom Hades.

His tracks are rhythmic, deep, hypnotic and technological... Techno from the heart.
Supported, selected and played by: Adam Beyer, John Digweed, Carlo Lio, Karotte, Monika Kruse, Christian Smith, Gregor Tresher, Joseph Capriati, Tom Hades, Ramon Tapia, Steve Lawler, Davide Squillace, Mark Reeve, Joel Mull, Alan Fitzpatrick, Umek, Tony Rohr, 2000 and One, Mihalis Safras, The Advent, Kyle Geiger, Stephan Bodzin, Mauro Picotto, Sasha Carassi and others.

    Enrico Sangiuliano - X-Pollination UNRILIS

    8:13

    Buy on Beatport:

    Enrico Sangiuliano - X-Pollination [UNRILIS]

    Release Date: March 28th, 2016

    Press release:

Legendary Italian techno label Unrilis, founded by top producer Rino Cerrone and A&R’ed by Luigi Madonna & Roberto Capuano, turns 10 in 2016, and this next EP is the first of many special anniversary releases planned by the label. It comes from acclaimed talent Enrico Sangiuliano and features a stunning remix by Mark Reeve.

Enrico Sangiuliano came up through illegal raves and is now a top DJ who plays all over the world and has his music played by the likes of Adam Beyer and Sven Vath. He has had the longest ever running techno number one on Beatport (his remix of ‘Can You Hear Me’ for DJ Boris on Alleanza) and is one of the best selling artists on the site at any one time. His music comes on Cocoon and Drumcode amongst others, and is powerful, direct stuff for the dance floor.

Written entirely in Italy, “X-Pollination (or cross-pollination) is fundamentally the key factor of growth, consciousness and life,” says the artist. “It’s the way I connect with people, share my passion, fly from one place to another and put many influences and elements into my music.”

The title track is eight minutes of slow burning but hypnotic techno funk with rolling rubber drums and nervy pads. Frazzled synths add post apocalyptic vibes to this main room anthem and many well crafted peaks and troughs along the way help make it even more standout. It is a real techno classic in the making.

Mark Reeve is the UK star who remixes. He has a long history with techno that goes back to the rave scene. Since then his education has taken in trips to techno mecca The Omen, has resulted in music on Cocoon and collabs with Pig & Dan. He has also released on Drumcode and has a big rolling sound that fills the world’s finest clubs and warehouses with his unique grooves. His take on the original is more energetic, with searing synths, cantering kicks and a dark energy that makes you pump your fist and stomp the floor. It is full of drama and is perfect balanced from start to finish.

This is another fine release in a landmark year for one of techno’s most consistent performers.

Enrico Sangiuliano - Astral Projection - Drumcode

    8:05

Drumcode continues its commitment to releasing the scene’s most cutting-edge techno. With releases this year already from Adam Beyer, Pig&Dan, Alan Fitzpatrick, Dense & Pika and Julian Jeweil, this July see’s the return of Enrico Sangiuliano with ‘Astral Projection’.

After his remix of Moby’s of ‘Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad’ back in November last year, Enrico sought creative inspiration from his travels, transcending that into his productions and long studio sessions during the winter months. The result brings a mind and body melting release from the Italian producer.

The title track ‘Astral Projection’ is a captivating, big room techno masterpiece. Deep reverberations punch alongside a sinisterly crisp percussive drive. Launching into a groove laden synth modulation of low end textures, it breaks down into an ethereal amalgamation of pads and synths before the vocal launches, taking this track to another level.

‘Blooming Era’ has destructive dancefloor intent. There is no holding back with the low end synth modulation which Enrico has mastered to perfection. A tightly woven percussive flare moulds flawlessly with the rolling oscillations of the beast of this track.

If you have seen label head honcho Adam Beyer playing anywhere on the globe in the last 5 months, this has been a peak time favourite. Road-tested to the max, and with much success.

Enrico Sangiuliano vs Hertz - Start Of Madness - Drumcode - DC159

    7:18

Adam Beyer’s Drumcode juggernaut attracts more fans and critical plaudits with each passing year. Holding firm on its future facing ethos, techno’s number one label presents a new volume in its acclaimed A-Sides series with 20 prime tracks to signify its 20th anniversary.

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn’t fit in their regular EP release schedule.

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label’s established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode’s multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional.

Led by the stealth techno funk of ‘Nine of You’, Beyer’s deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck.

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O’Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016.

Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

    Enrico Sangiuliano - Symbiosis - Drumcode - DC190 III - Metamorphosis

    8:54

    Buy here:

Enrico Sangiuliano - Blooming Era - Drumcode

    7:14
