    Hotel California - Eagles 1976
    Eagles - Hotel California Lyrics

Rest In Peace - Glenn Frey (1948-2016),

thank you for this great song.

After Lemmy and David Bowie, another legend took the Stairway to Heaven.

The Eagles - Hotel California 1976 with lyrics and some HD pics of California!

    Enjoy!

    LYRICS Hotel California - Eagles

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair

Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air

Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light

My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim

I had to stop for the night

There she stood in the doorway

    I heard the mission bell

And I was thinking to myself

'This could be heaven or this could be Hell'

Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way

There were voices down the corridor,

I thought I heard them say

    Welcome to the Hotel California

Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)

    Such a lovely face

Plenty of room at the Hotel California

Any time of year (any time of year) you can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes Bends

She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends

How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat

Some dance to remember, some dance to forget

So I called up the Captain

    Please bring me my wine'

He said, 'we haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty-nine'

And still those voices are calling from far away

Wake you up in the middle of the night

    Just to hear them say

    Welcome to the Hotel California

Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)

    Such a lovely face

They livin' it up at the Hotel California

What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise), bring your alibis

    Mirrors on the ceiling,

    The pink champagne on ice

And she said, we are all just prisoners here, of our own device

    And in the master's chambers

    They gathered for the feast

They stab it with their steely knives

But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was

    Running for the door

I had to find the passage back to the place I was before

    Relax, said the night man

You can check out any time you like

Eagles - The Last Resort - - The Last Resort lyrics on screen & description

    7:26

Eagles - The Last Resort slideshow with lyrics on screen & in description. This song is really a history lesson. I've created this slideshow using images of beautiful American fine art, historic photographs and colorful high quality current scenic photographs.

The Last Resort is a song written by Don Henley and Glenn Frey. It was originally released on the Eagles' album Hotel California on December 8. 1976.[1] It was subsequently released as the B-side of Life in the Fast Lane single on May 3, 1977.

n a 1978 interview with Rolling Stone, Henley said: 'The Last Resort', on Hotel California, is still one of my favorite songs... That's because I care more about the environment than about writing songs about drugs or love affairs or excesses of any kind. The gist of the song was that when we find something good, we destroy it by our presence — by the very fact that man is the only animal on earth that is capable of destroying his environment. The environment is the reason I got into politics: to try to do something about what I saw as the complete destruction of most of the resources that we have left. We have mortgaged our future for gain and greed. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

The song reflects on the Westward Expansion in America, with the hardship, bloodshed, greed and destruction of natural resources and wildlife that came with the settling of the West. Americans felt it was their destiny to claim the land and own the frontier from the Atlantic to the Pacific oceans. California was the last frontier. Ironically, the song says, We can leave it all behind and sail to Lahaina, which is a town on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. Don Henley wrote the lyrics, which tell the epic story employing sarcasm and criticism.

Lyrics for Eagles, The Last Resort:

    The Last Resort

    She came from Providence,
    the one in Rhode Island
Where the old world shadows hang
    heavy in the air
She packed her hopes and dreams
    like a refugee
Just as her father came across the sea

She heard about a place people were smilin'
They spoke about the red man's way,
and how they loved the land
    And they came from everywhere
    to the Great Divide
    Seeking a place to stand
    or a place to hide

    Down in the crowded bars,
    out for a good time,
Can't wait to tell you all,
    what it's like up there
    And they called it paradise
    I don't know why
    Somebody laid the mountains low
    while the town got high

Then the chilly winds blew down
    Across the desert
through the canyons of the coast, to
    the Malibu
    Where the pretty people play,
    hungry for power
    to light their neon way
and give them things to do

Some rich men came and raped the land,
    Nobody caught 'em
Put up a bunch of ugly boxes, and Jesus,
    people bought 'em
    And they called it paradise
    The place to be
They watched the hazy sun, sinking in the sea

You can leave it all behind
    and sail to Lahaina
just like the missionaries did, so many years ago
They even brought a neon sign: Jesus is coming
Brought the white man's burden down
    Brought the white man's reign

Who will provide the grand design?
What is yours and what is mine?
'Cause there is no more new frontier
We have got to make it here

We satisfy our endless needs and
    justify our bloody deeds,
in the name of destiny and the name
    of God

And you can see them there,
    On Sunday morning
They stand up and sing about
    what it's like up there
    They call it paradise
    I don't know why
    You call someplace paradise,
    kiss it goodbye

Eagles - Take It Easy Lyrics

Well, I'm running down the road
    Tryin' to loosen my load
    I've got seven women on
    My mind,
    Four that wanna own me,
    Two that wanna stone me,
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels
    Drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
    Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
    And take it easy
    Well, I'm a standing on a corner
    In winslow, arizona
And such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my lord, in a flatbed
Ford slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
    Gonna save me
We may lose and we may win though
We will never be here again
So open up, I'm climbin' in,
    So take it easy
Well I'm running down the road trying to loosen
My load, got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my
Cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own
    Wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is
Gonna save me, oh oh oh
    Oh we got it easy
    We oughta take it easy

    Eagles - Lying Eyes -HD

    6:25

    Eagles - Lying Eyes Lyrics

City girls just seem to find out early
How to open doors with just a smile
    A rich old man
And she won't have to worry
She'll dress up all in lace and go in style
Late at night a big old house gets lonely
I guess ev'ry form of refuge has it's price
And it breaks her heart to think her love is
Only given to a man with hands as cold as ice
So she tells him she must go out for the evening
To comfort an old friend who's feelin' down
But he knows where she's goin' as she's leavin'
She is headed for the cheatin' side of town
You can't hide your lyin' eyes
And your smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now you'd realize
There ain't no way to hide your lyin eyes
On the other side of town a boy is waiting
With fiery eyes and dreams no one could steal
She drives on through the nice anticipating
'Cause he makes her feel the way she used to feel
    She rushes to his arms,
    They fall together
She whispers that it's only for awhile
She swears that soon she'll be comin' back forever
She pulls away and leaves him with a smile
You can't hid your lyin' eyes
And your smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now you'd realize
There ain't now way to hide you lyin' eyes
She gets up and pours herself a strong one
And stares out at the stars up in the sky
Another night, it's gonna be a long one
She draws the shade and hangs her head to cry
She wonders how it ever got this crazy
She thinks about a boy she knew in school
Did she get tired or did she just get lazy?
She's so far gone she feels just like a fool
My, oh my, you sure know how to arrange things
You set it up so well, so carefully
Ain't it funny how your new life didn't change things
You're still the same old girl you used to be
You can't hide your lyin eyes
And your smile is a thin disguise
I thought by now you'd realize
There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes
There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes
Honey, you can't hide your lyin' eyes

Witchy Woman - Eagles , click more below.

    4:13

Written by Don Henley and Bernie Leadon.
    Eagles - Asylum Records, August 1, 1972.
    Producer: Glyn John

Witchy Woman was conceived while Don Henley was living in an old house near the Hollywood Bowl. Bernie Leadon came to his house one day to play him a strange minor-key guitar riff he was working on that according to Henley, ...sounded like a Hollywood movie version of Indian music-you know, the kind of stuff they play when the Indians ride up on the ridge while the wagon train passes below. The two then recorded a demo of the song on cassette for Henley to write lyrics for. Henley also attributed the lyrics to amorphous images of girls he had met at the Whisky a Go Go and The Troubadour.

    Witchy Woman ~ Lyrics

    Raven hair and ruby lips
sparks fly from her finger tips
    Echoed voices in the night
she's a restless spirit on an endless flight
wooo hooo witchy woman, see how
    high she flies
woo hoo witchy woman she got
    the moon in her eye
She held me spellbound in the night
    dancing shadows and firelight
    crazy laughter in another
room and she drove herself to madness
    with a silver spoon
woo hoo witchy woman see how high she flies
woo hoo witchy woman she got the moon in her eye
Well I know you want a lover,
let me tell your brother, she's been sleeping
    in the Devil's bed.
And there's some rumors going round
    someone's underground
she can rock you in the nighttime
    'til your skin turns red
    woo hoo witchy woman
    see how high she flies
    woo hoo witchy woman
she got the moon in her eye

    Eagles - Doolin Dalton

    3:27

The song by the Eagles is about the Doolin-Dalton gang of the old wild west. It first appeared in their 1973 concept album Desperado. The song never made it to the top but it is one of my all-time favorites.

This music video feature clips / scenes from the western film The Quick and the Dead. The mv was blocked in March 2012 when it was first published. But somehow the copyright claim was later released in January 2013.

Pitching the character of a lady gunfighter to Doolin-Dalton is a bit of a stretch. But these duels and the cinematography, they are good. The movie, despite its star power, never made it to the top in 1995.

Video made by: fkwk101 (Yukon Audio-visual Workshop).

Eagles - Take It To The Limit -HD

    4:50

Eagles - Take It To The Limit Lyrics

All alone at the end of the of the evening
And the bright lights have faded to blue
I was thinking 'bout a woman who might have
Loved me and I never knew
You know I've always been a dreamer
    (spent my life running 'round)
And it's so hard to change
    (can't seem to settle down)
But the dreams I've seen lately
Keep on turning out and burning out
    And turning out the same

So put me on a highway
    And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

You can spend all your time making money
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
    Would you still be mine?

And when you're looking for your freedom
    (nobody seems to care)
And you can't find the door
    (can't find it anywhere)
When there's nothing to believe in
Still you're coming back, you're running back
    You're coming back for more

So put me on a highway
    And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

    Take it to the limit
    Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit one more time

The Eagles - Rocky Mountain Way Live

    7:35

    Spent the last year
    Rocky mountain way(DC)
    Couldn't get much higher
    Out to pasture
I think it's safe to say
    Time to open fire
And we don't need the ladies
Crying 'cause the story's sad, oh yeah
    'cause the rocky mountain way
Is better than the way we had
    Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
    Rocky mountain way, oh
    Well he's tellin' us this,
    He's tellin' us that,
    Changin' it everyday
    Say's it doesn't matter
Bases are loaded and casey's at bat
    Playin' it play by play
It's time to change the batter
And we don't need the ladies
Crying 'cause the story's sad, so sad
    'Cause the rocky mountain way
Is better than the way we had
    Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
    Rocky mountain way
And we don't need the ladies
Crying 'cause the story's sad, so sad
    'Cause the rocky mountain way
Is better than the way we had
It's better than the way we had
It's better than the way we had
    So much better
    So much better
    It's so much better
    It's so much better
    Rocky mountain way

Eagles - The Best of My Love -HD

    4:37

Eagles - The Best of My Love Lyrics
Every night I'm lyin' in bed
Holdin' you close in my dreams
Thinkin' about all the things that we said
And comin' apart at the seams
We try to talk it over
But the words come out too rough
    I know you were tryin'
To give me the best of your love

Beautiful faces and loud, empty places
Look at the way that we live
Wastin' our time on cheap talk and wine
Left us so little to give
    That same old crowd
Was like a cold dark cloud
That we could never rise above
But here in my heart I give you the best of my love
Oh sweet darlin' you get the best of my love, oh
Sweet darlin', you get the best of my love

    I'm goin' back in time
    And it's a sweet dream
    It was a quiet night
And I would be all right
If I could go on sleepin'
    But every mornin'
    I wake up and worry
    What's gonna happen today
    You see it your way
    And I see it mine
But we both see it slippin' away

You know we always had each other baby
    I guess that wasn't enough
Oh, but here in my heart
I give you the best of my love
    Oh, sweet darlin'
You get the best of my love
    Oh, sweet darlin'
You get the best of my love
    Every night and day,
You get the best of my love
Oh, sweet darlin' you get the best of my love
Oh, sweet darlin' you get the best of my love..
    Etc..

    The Eagles - Tequila Sunrise-HD

    2:56

    Eagles - Tequila Sunrise Lyrics

    It's another tequila sunrise
Starin' slowly 'cross the sky, said goodbye
He was just a hired hand
Workin' on the dreams he planned to try
    The days go by

Ev'ry night when the sun goes down
Just another lonely boy in town
    And she's out runnin' 'round

    She wasn't just another woman
And I couldn't keep from comin' on
    It's been so long
Oh, and it's a hollow feelin' when
It comes down to dealin' friends
    It never ends

    Take another shot of courage
Wonder why the right words never come
    You just get numb
It's another tequila sunrise, this old world
    Still looks the same,
    Another frame, mm...

Eagles - The Long Run Lyrics

    3:43

Eagles - The Long Run Lyrics
I used to hurry a lot, I used to worry a lot
I used to stay out till the break of day
    Oh, that didn't get it,
It was high time I quit it
I just couldn't carry on that way
Oh, I did some damage, I know it's true
Didn't know I was so lonely , till I found you
    You can go the distance
We'll find out in the long run
    (in the long run)
    We can handle some resistance
If our love is a strong one (is a strong one)
    People talkin' about is
They got nothin' else to do
When it all comes down we will
    Still come through
    In the long run
Ooh, I want to tell you, it's a long run
You know I don't understand why you don't
    Treat yourself better
Do the crazy things that you do
'cause all the debutantes in houston, baby,
Couldn't hold a candle to you
Did you do it for love?
Did you do it for money?
Did you do it for spite?
Did you think you had to, honey?
    Who is gonna make it?
We'll find out in the long run
    (in the long run)
I know we can take it
If our love is a strong one
    (is a strong one)
Well, we're scared, but we ain't shakin'
Kinda bent, but we ain't breakin'
    In the long run
Ooh, I want to tell you, it's a long run
    In the long run
    In the long run, etc...

On Eagles Wings by Michael Joncas

    4:28

(somehow it sounds like I add an s at the end of only the first chorus to make it sound like hands. Obviously that isn't right, but I decided to leave it. You all know what the right word is. Let's just agree it adds character)

    To purchase:

    Lyrics

    Vs. 1

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, who abide in his shadow for life, say to the Lord: My refuge, my rock in whom I trust

    Chorus

And he will raise you up on Eagle's Wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of his hand

    Vs. 2

The snare of the fowler will never capture you, and famine will bring you no fear: under his wings your refuge, his faithfulness your shield

    Vs. 3

You need not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day; though thousands fall about you, near you it shall not come

    Vs. 4

For to his angels he's given a command to guard you in all of your ways; upon their hands they will bear you up lest you dash your foot against a stone
