    LYRICS Hotel California - Eagles

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night

There she stood in the doorway
    I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself
'This could be heaven or this could be Hell'
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say

    Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)

    Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year (any time of year) you can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes Bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget
So I called up the Captain
    Please bring me my wine'

He said, 'we haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty-nine'
And still those voices are calling from far awa
Wake you up in the middle of the night
    Just to hear them say

    Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
    Such a lovely face

They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise), bring your alibis
    Mirrors on the ceiling,
    The pink champagne on ice
And she said, we are all just prisoners here, of our own device

    And in the master's chambers
    They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives
But they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember, I was
    Running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before

    Relax, said the night man
    We are programmed to receive
You can check out any time you like
    But you can never leave!

    Lyrics:

    I was standing
All alone against the world outside
    You were searching
    For a place to hide
    Lost and lonely
Now you've given me the will to survive
When we're hungry, love will keep us alive

    Don't you worry
Sometimes you've just gotta let it ride
    The world is changing
    Right before your eyes

    Now I've found you
    There's no more emptiness inside
When we're hungry, love will keep us alive

    I would die for you
    Climb the highest mountain
    Baby, there's nothing I wouldn't do

    Now I've found you
    There's no more emptiness inside
When we're hungry, love will keep us alive

    (Guitar Solo)

    I would die for you
    Climb the highest mountain
    Baby, there's nothing I wouldn't do

    I was standing
All alone against the world outside
    You were searching
    For a place to hide
    Lost and lonely
Now you've given me the will to survive

  • The Eagles - New Kid In Town

    5:05

The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. With five number-one singles and six number-one albums, six Grammy Awards and five American Music Awards, the Eagles were one of the most successful musical acts of the 1970s in North America. Founding members Glenn Frey (guitars, vocals), Don Henley (drums, vocals), Bernie Leadon (guitars, vocals) and Randy Meisner (bass guitar, vocals) were recruited by Linda Ronstadt as band members, some touring with her, and all playing on her third solo album, before venturing out on their own on David Geffen's new Asylum Records label. Their debut, Eagles (1972), spawned two top-20 singles in the US and Canada: Take It Easy and Witchy Woman. The next year's follow-up, Desperado, only peaked at number 41 in the US, although Desperado became a popular track. In 1974, guitarist Don Felder joined, and On the Border produced the top 40 hit Already Gone and the Eagles' first number-one song in the US and Canada, Best of My Love, which made the top 15 in Australia, their first hit overseas. In 1975, guitarist and vocalist Joe Walsh replaced Leadon, and the album One of These Nights became their first number-one album in the US and a top-10 album in many countries. It included the US number-one hit One of These Nights, which was their first top-10 hit outside of North America, and US top-five songs Lyin' Eyes and Take It to the Limit. Their Greatest Hits (1971–1975) (1976) is the best-selling album in the United States, with 38 million sold, and primed the public for the late 1976 release of Hotel California, which would sell more than 26 million copies in the US (ranking 3rd all-time for US sales), and more than 32 million copies worldwide. The album yielded two number-one singles in the US and Canada, New Kid in Town and Hotel California, the latter of which became their only top-10 hit in the United Kingdom, while also reaching the top 10 in New Zealand and many European countries, including number two in France. Meisner was replaced by Timothy B. Schmit in 1977. The Eagles released their last studio album for nearly 28 years in 1979 with The Long Run, spawning the North American number-one song Heartache Tonight, which became their biggest hit in Australia (number 13), and the North American top-10 hits The Long Run and I Can't Tell You Why. The Eagles broke up in 1980 but reunited in 1994 for the album Hell Freezes Over, a mix of live and new studio tracks, and toured consistently. In 2007, the Eagles released Long Road Out of Eden, their sixth number-one album in the US, and in 2008 launched the Long Road Out of Eden Tour. In 2013, they began the extended History of the Eagles Tour in conjunction with the documentary release, History of the Eagles. Following Frey's death in January 2016, the Eagles re-formed in 2017, with Glenn's son Deacon Frey and Vince Gill sharing lead vocals for Frey's songs. The Eagles are one of the world's best-selling bands, having sold more than 200 million records, including 100 million sold in US alone. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and were ranked number 75 on Rolling Stone's 2004 list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

  • Jackson Browne “Take It Easy”

    5:33

Jackson Browne performs Take It Easy with #TheEagles and #LindaRonstadt.

“Take It Easy” is a song written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey. It was most famously recorded by the Eagles (with Frey singing lead vocals).

“Take It Easy” was The Eagles' first single, released on May 1, 1972. It peaked at #12 on the July 22, 1972 Billboard Hot 100 chart, spending 11 weeks on the chart that summer. It also was the opening track on the band’s debut album Eagles and it has become one of their signature songs, included on all of their live and compilation albums. It is one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. Jackson Browne later recorded the song as the lead track on his second album, For Everyman (1973).

    LYRICS:

Well I'm runnin’ down the road tryin' to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine

Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
    Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand
    And take it easy

Standin’ on the corner in Winslow, Arizona
With such a fine sight to see
    It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me

Come on baby, don't say maybe
I’ve got to know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win
But we will never be here again
    Open up, I'm climbin' in
    To take it easy

Well, I'm running down the road tryin’ to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover
She's just a little hard to find

Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me

    Verse 1:
    Here I am waiting
    Abide in me I pray
Here I am longing for You
    Hide me in Your love
    Bring me to my knees
May I know Jesus more and more

    Chorus:
Come live in me all my life
    Take over
    Come breathe in me
I will rise on eagle's wings
Come live in me all my life
    Take over
    Come breathe in me
I will rise on eagle's wings

    Bridge:
I will rise on eagle's wings
I will rise on eagle's wings

  • THE EAGLES Silver Dagger

    30

Silver Dagger, or Katy Dear, is an American folk ballad. It likely traces its roots to the British Isles of late 19th century, though possibly much earlier; the first published version appeared in 1907.

In the song, the narrator turns away a potential suitor, as her mother has warned her to avoid the advances of men, in an attempt to spare her daughter the heartbreak that she herself has endured.
