    Lyrics:
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight

I keep looking for something I can't get
Broken hearts, they're all around me
And I don't see an easier way, to get out of this
Her diary sits by the bedside table
The curtains are closed, the cat's in the cradle
Who would have thought that a boy like me could come to this

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been some kind of kiss
    I should have walked away
    I should have walked away

Is there any just cause for feeling like this?
On the surface I'm a name on a list
I try to be discreet, but then blow it again
I've lost and found it's my final mistake
She's loving by proxy, no give and all take
'Cause I've been thrilled to fantasy, one too many times

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been some kind of kiss
    I should have walked away
    I should have walked away

It was a long hot night, she made it easy
    She made it feel right
But now it's over, the moment has gone
I followed my hands to my head, I know I was wrong

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been some kind of kiss
    I should have walked away

  • Cutting Crew - Died in Your Arms

    4:28

1986) The pop/rock group Cutting Crew formed in England in 1985, just one year before (I Just) Died in Your Arms made them stars at home and across the Atlantic. Founding members Kevin Scott MacMichael (guitar) and Nick Van Eede (vocals) met in Halifax, Nova Scotia, while both musicians were on tour with their respective bands. A musical connection was made, and MacMichael soon left his native Australia and relocated to England, where he and Van Eede immediately began to collaborate. After signing with Siren Records on the strength of their demos, Cutting Crew became a foursome in 1986 with the addition of bassist Colin Farley and drummer Martin Beadle; they entered the recording studio that same year. While the pace was certainly quick, the quartet was comprised of veterans; Eede had toured the world with his Sussex-based outfit the Drivers, MacMichael served time as guitarist for Fast Forward, Beadle was a one-time member of Hull, and Farley had completed hours of session work for many artists.
Cutting Crew released their debut album, Broadcast, in 1986. The group received mixed reviews from music critics, but not when it came to the album's undeniable highlight, the synth-heavy (I Just) Died in Your Arms. The song became smash hit in the United States, reaching number one on the Billboard singles chart and enjoying similar success in the U.K. One for the Mockingbird and I've Been in Love Before also enjoyed significant radio play, and the band left home for a worldwide tour, standing in as opening act for such groups as the Bangles, Starship, and Huey Lewis & the News.
Cutting Crew released a sophomore album, The Scattering, in 1989. A third full-length effort, 1992's Compus Mentus, failed to revive their sagging popularity, however, and Cutting Crew called it quits the following year. MacMichael paired up with Robert Plant for the singer's 1993 solo effort, Fate of Nations, while Nick Van Eede chose to revive Cutting Crew the following decade. Featuring a radically different lineup, the group released Grinning Souls in 2006.

From album The Best Of Cutting Crew

I have learnt through all my past mistakes
Not to let the hurdles sap my energy
Time will tell and time is all it takes
You won't see the bastards knock the running out of me

And the band, they played one more song
One for the mocking bird, they played one more song
All the tears, they fell one by one
All for the mocking-bird, they fell one by one

Don't be fooled by those who feed you words
They just twist and tighten up the tourniquet
But the sweetest song of all the mocking-birds
Couldn't hope to match one note of any song we played

And the band, they played one more song
One for the mocking bird, they played one more song
All the dreams, they broke one by one
All for the mocking-bird, they broke one by one

    What are you hiding from?
Why do you lock the door?
    Open up the door!

    And the band, they played...

I have learnt, time will tell, years will pass, tears will fall,
Don't be fooled, fed by words, their sweet songs,
    Mocking-birds!

8D Audio – (I Just) Died in Your Arms – Cutting Crew (with lyrics)

This track was edited using spatialisation techniques to make you feel that the sound is all around you. For the best experience of the binaural panning effect, make sure that you wear headphones at a low comfortable volume setting.

Locating the source of a sound can be done by the human brain working together with the inner ear and outer ear, in three dimensions. The sound is then transformed and various aspects such as the density and size of the head result in how it is perceived by the receiver/ listener. 8D Audio is a buzzword which refers to the above-described effect.

    Enjoy..!

  • Cutting Crew - Ive Been In Love Before

    5:21

    Lyrics:

Catch my breath, close my eyes
    Don't believe a word.
    Things she said, overheard
    Something wrong inside
Hits you in a minute, Ooo
Then you know you're in it, aah.

    I've been in love before
    I've been in love before
The hardest part is when you're in it
    I've been in love before
    I've been in love before

Just one touch, just one look
    A dangerous dance
One small word can make me feel
    Like running away
You can't say you're in it, no, until you reach the limit

    I've been in love before
    I've been in love before
The hardest part is when you're in it
    I've been in love before
    I've been in love before

    I've been in love before
    I've been in love before
The hardest part is when you're in it
    I've been in love before
    I've been in love before

    I've been in love
The hardest part is when you're in it
    I've been in love
    I've been in love before

    4:12

From album The Best Of Cutting Crew

    Lyrics:

I dream, dream of a lonely girl
Who sleeps lost in her lonely world
Any sunset I'd give to you
Any colour that you like, all for you, all for you

She wakes wrapped in her naked room
The air filled with a sweet perfume
Any rainbow I'll save for you
Any colour that you like, all for you

I've waited, I've waited so long for you, all for you
To show my true colours come shining through

I dream, dream of a distant girl
Who sleeps lost in her lonely world
In a diamond, I'll shine for you
Any colour that you like, all for you
    All for you

This incredible performance was filmed and recorded in Hamburg, Germany in 1987. It features all of the hits including the 1986 smash hit I Just Died in Your Arms. Cutting Crew was founded in Canada in 1985 by bandleader Nick van Eede and guitarist Kevin Scott Macmichael. The band's optimistic songs charm through catchy melodies and skilful deployment of acoustic and electronic instruments, which is why they were chosen as an opening act for such bands as The Bangles and Huey Lewis & the News.

Cutting Crew is a pop rock band formed in England in 1985, best known for their United States #1 hit, (I Just) Died in Your Arms.
Vocalist Nick Van Eede founded the group along with Canadian guitarist, Kevin Scott MacMichael, in 1985, and made demos that led to a recording contract, before bassist Colin Farley and drummer Martin Beadle joined in 1986.

Their first album, Broadcast, released in 1986, was the first U.S. #1 album for Richard Branson's Virgin Records. It included (I Just) Died in Your Arms, their most popular single, which reached #1 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S., and number four in the UK Singles Chart; the album also yielded an additional U.S. Top 10 success with I've Been in Love Before, a #9 hit. The band received a Grammy nomination in 1987, as 'Best New Artist'. However, Rolling Stone magazine posted an unflattering review of Cutting Crew, and their debut album stalled at gold, despite its two top-selling singles.

The Scattering, released in early 1989, showed more mature songwriting and lush studio production. Its lead single, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, (U.S. 77) failed to reach Top 40 despite a familiar rock sound. Nick Van Eede's winsome vocal style, however, did score a couple modest Adult Contemporary hits with Everything But My Pride and Last Thing. Although a video for the title track did air briefly in the UK and North America, The Scattering failed to chart. It still remains a fan favorite.

Cutting Crew's third album, Compus Mentus, released in 1992, failed to generate sales. Many fans were not even aware it existed, due to poor promotions. Their lack of success led to Cutting Crew's disbanding.

After the band broke up in 1993, guitarist Kevin MacMichael joined forces with Robert Plant, and played on his critically acclaimed Fate of Nations album. Tragically, MacMichael died of lung cancer on New Year's Eve 2002, at his home in Nova Scotia, at the age of only 51.

Van Eede continued as a solo artist, producer, and songwriter. Colin Farley, the bass player in the 1980s line up, currently lives in Surrey and continues to work in the music industry, playing with his new band in pubs. Drummer Martin Beedle appears to have retired from professional music.

In 2006, Nick Van Eede reformed his once-popular group with a completely new line-up. They released an album, Grinning Souls, in February 2006 on the Hypertension record label. The new band toured Germany early the same year and played on tours in the UK and Denmark.
