Some folks are born made to wave the flag
Ooh, they're red, white and blue
And when the band plays Hail to the chief
Ooh, they point the cannon at you, Lord
    It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no senator's son, son
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no

Some folks are born silver spoon in hand
Lord, don't they help themselves, oh
But when the taxman comes to the door
Lord, the house looks like a rummage sale, yes
    It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no millionaire's son, no
It ain't me, it ain't me, I ain't no fortunate one, no

Some folks inherit star spangled eyes
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord
And when you ask them, How much should we give?
Ooh, they only answer More! More! More! yoh

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival - Suzie Q.

    4:41

#CCR Creedence Clearwater Revival is undeniably one of the greatest rock bands of all time, with an instantly recognizable, raw, bayou sound, popularized in songs like Proud Mary and Green River”. Since their formation in the 1960s, CCR has sold over 50 million records, while their songs remain in heavy rotation on the radio.

Though the band only released 7 studio albums in their too-short career, Creedence had an astonishing track record: eight consecutive gold singles (Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Green River, Down on the Corner, Who'll Stop the Rain, Up Around the Bend, Lookin' Out My Back Door, Have You Ever Seen the Rain?) and eight consecutive gold albums. With music that sounds as fresh and compelling today as it did 30 years ago, CCR is one of a handful of bands whose entire body of work has attained true classic status.

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival Live at the Oakland Coliseum, CA, January 31st, 1970 - Enhanced Audio

    51:04

I do enjoy this documentary a lot, many people know it as The Lost Oakland Broadcast because it hasn't been re released since the 70's, there are only very few poor quality bootlegs out there, the official and high quality film is still waiting for a legal release collecting dust somewhere in a vault. That inspired me to replace the audio from the songs with the official LP of the concert originally released on 1980 under the name of The Royal Albert Hall Concert, which later got renamed to The Concert.
I'm sorry for what I'm about to say but, it was a such a pain in the ass to get the job done, due to the inconsistent speed of the bootleg, the fact of matching the enhanced audio with the video was truly a living hell. Anyways, you're not here to read my complains, you´re here to watch the video. Hope y'all enjoy it.

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival - Long As I Can See The Light

    3:33

Long as I Can See the Light is taken from CCR's legendary fifth studio album, Cosmo's Factory. Stream now or pre-order the 50th anniversary half-speed mastered vinyl:

We’re honored to unveil this special fan-generated video for the beloved Cosmo’s Factory closer, “Long as I Can See the Light.” In the lead-up to Father’s Day 2020, Creedence fans worldwide were encouraged to submit videos and photos documenting cherished memories with their fathers, grandfathers or other guiding lights in their life. Warm thanks for all the incredibly moving fan contributions.

The tradition of musical inheritance is strong among CCR appreciators: The band’s timeless albums have been proudly passed down from generation to generation. Music’s capacity to draw people together is more important now than ever, so while many may be unable to be physically near their loved ones this Father’s Day, the hope is that this video will help remind families just how deeply they’re connected.

One of many hits on Cosmo’s Factory Long as I Can See the Light was released in 1970 as part of a double A-side single with Lookin’ out My Back Door.” Both songs peaked at number two in the U.S., and despite Creedence having never played “Long as I Can See the Light” live, it became a fan favorite. Over the years, the song has taken on different meanings, but John Fogerty has stated that the song is about the loner in me. Wanting to feel understood, needing those at home to shine a light so that I can make my way back.

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of Cosmo’s Factory this summer, Craft Recordings is issuing a half-speed master edition of the album, pressed on 180-gram vinyl and set for release on August 14th. The album was mastered at half speed by the award-winning engineer Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. Available for pre-order now, this audiophile edition of Cosmo’s Factory comes housed in a tip-on jacket, replicating the original packaging.

    Creedence Clearwater Revival
    Someday Never Comes
    Mardi Gras

    Lyrics:

First thing I remember was askin' papa, Why?,
For there were many things I didn't know.
And Daddy always smiled; took me by the hand,
    Sayin', Someday you'll understand.

    CHORUS:
Well, I'm here to tell you now each and ev'ry mother's son
You better learn it fast; you better learn it young,
    'Cause, Someday Never Comes.

Well, time and tears went by and I collected dust,
For there were many things I didn't know.
When Daddy went away, he said, Try to be a man,
    And, Someday you'll understand.

    CHORUS

And then, one day in April, I wasn't even there,
For there were many things I didn't know.
A son was born to me; Mama held his hand,
    Sayin' Someday you'll understand.

    CHORUS

Think it was September, the year I went away,
For there were many things I didn't know.
    And I still see him standing, try'n' to be a man;
    I said, Someday you'll understand.

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival - Poorboy Shuffle/Feelin Blue #CreedenceClearwaterRevival

    7:34

This two-for-the-price of-one song in my Top 25 favorite songs of all-time! And it's certainly one of my favorite kinds of songs where when one follows the other on the album it flows directly into it without a pause b/w the songs, like most tracks do on most albums. This rare technique would be more frequent to notice on concept albums which first became popular in the 60's w/ The Beatles and The Beach Boys both experimenting with this new way to approach making a record. But this highly overlooked and immensely underrated deep track(s) in particular comes from CCR's Willy and The Poorboys 1969 album. A staple of Classic Rock albums if there ever was one - and one that also featured mega hits/fan favorites Fortunate Son, Down On The Corner, and The Midnight Special just to name a few. This two song pair is much Blusier, more in line with Midnight Special, than the Top 10 hits which ended up getting almost all of the radio airplay. The whole album musically incorporates many different styles of influences thrown into a number of the tracks with these two being the standouts.

Even with songs - some of them massive hits - like Fortunate Son, The Midnight Special, It Came Out of The Sky, Effigy, Cotton Fields, and Down On The Corner, these two blended songs are the two best on the entire album. Just like all of CCR's albums in a career that only spanned 5 years, this is an album that is solid from beginning to end. It is certainly a Top 10 greatest releases from 1969 and one of the most enjoyable and enduring from the peace of love generation.

I always wondered why Oldies stations, Classic Rock stations, or just any radio station that would play eclectic music never gave Poorboy Shuffle/Feelin' Blue much radio airplay! Perhaps it had to do with time length but then again, that's the way the songs are supposed to be heard: all as one! This is a great example of how back in the day, putting together an album was a crucial part of the art. It was not all and only about No. 1 Hits, like it appears today the latter is much more emphasized and focused on. The artists in the 60's/70's most in particular wanted their listeners to listen to the entire album from start to finish because lots of times the songs blended right into each other seamlessly and the themes of the songs were connected. A lot of the artists were interested in blending different styles of music together to create newer sounds while at the same time paying homage to all of the artists from Blues/Folk/Gospel/R&B/Soul/Country/Jazz styles who had major influences in shaping of their careers.

If you've never heard this before and enjoy Classic Rock/Blues, songs with - as J. Geils' wild frontman Peter Wolf would say - the 'lickin' stick' featured heavily, R&B, and overall fun music, then there's a good chance you'll dig this! Creedence truly is one of the all-time greatest/influential American bands! Big shout out to Tom Petty and his Buried Treasure radio show on SiriusXM for giving this song the proper attention/airplay it so rightfully deserves! A timeless, and lost classic if there ever was one! The lost classics - and there's a lot of them from all genres - really give those mainstream, widely popular #1 hits that most people know and enjoy a strong run for their money. In a few cases they are even better than the actual hits!

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival - Run Through The Jungle

    3:11

The audio track is from the CD commemorating the concert and while I had to make some adjustments in speed to match the video, it sounds a hell of a lot better.

CCR was a hit making machine and sold more records than the Beatles in 1969. John Fogerty was a special talent, a marvelous singer and terrific guitar player. Doug Clifford, Stu Cook and Tom Fogerty were good musicians and deserved better than what happened to end this remarkable American band.

    Creedence Clearwater Revival
    Lodi
    Green River

    Lyrics:

Just about a year ago, I set out on the road,
Seekin' my fame and fortune, lookin' for a pot of gold.
Things got bad, and things got worse, I guess you will know the tune.
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again.

Rode in on the Greyhound, I'll be walkin' out if I go.
I was just passin' through, must be seven months or more.
Ran out of time and money, looks like they took my friends.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.

The man from the magazine said I was on my way.
Somewhere I lost connections, ran out of songs to play.
I came into town, a one night stand, looks like my plans fell through
Oh ! Lord, Stuck in Lodi again.
    Mmmm...
If I only had a dollar, for ev'ry song I've sung.
And ev'ry time I've had to play while people sat there drunk.
You know, I'd catch the next train back to where I live.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.

  • Bad moon rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival - instro cover by Dave Monk

    2:18

Bad Moon Rising is a song written by John Fogerty and performed by Creedence Clearwater Revival. It was the lead single from their album Green River and was released in April 1969, four months before the album. The song reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart for three weeks in September 1969 (see 1969 in music). It was CCR's second gold single.
The song has been recorded by at least 20 different artists, in styles ranging from folk to reggae to psychedelic rock.
In 2011, Rolling Stone ranked it #364 on its 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list.
This is my interpretation of this great song. I hope you like it. Dave
