  • BULGARIA - You can’t help falling in love with her at first sight

    4:02

Bulgaria (/bʌlˈɡɛəriə, bʊl-/ (About this sound listen); Bulgarian: България, tr. Bǎlgariya), officially the Republic of Bulgaria (Bulgarian: Република България, tr. Republika Bǎlgariya, pronounced [rɛˈpublikɐ bɐɫˈɡarijɐ]), is a country in southeastern Europe. It is bordered by Romania to the north, Serbia and Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south, and the Black Sea to the east. With a territory of 110,994 square kilometres (42,855 sq mi), Bulgaria is Europe's 16th-largest country.

Organised prehistoric cultures began developing on current Bulgarian lands during the Neolithic period. Its ancient history saw the presence of the Thracians, Greeks, Persians, Celts, Romans, Goths, Alans and Huns. The emergence of a unified Bulgarian state dates back to the establishment of the First Bulgarian Empire in 681 AD, which dominated most of the Balkans and functioned as a cultural hub for Slavs during the Middle Ages. With the downfall of the Second Bulgarian Empire in 1396, its territories came under Ottoman rule for nearly five centuries. The Russo-Turkish War of 1877–78 led to the formation of the Third Bulgarian State. The following years saw several conflicts with its neighbours, which prompted Bulgaria to align with Germany in both world wars. In 1946 it became a one-party socialist state as part of the Soviet-led Eastern Bloc. In December 1989 the ruling Communist Party allowed multi-party elections, which subsequently led to Bulgaria's transition into a democracy and a market-based economy.

Bulgaria's population of 7.2 million people is predominantly urbanised and mainly concentrated in the administrative centres of its 28 provinces. Most commercial and cultural activities are centred on the capital and largest city, Sofia. The strongest sectors of the economy are heavy industry, power engineering, and agriculture, all of which rely on local natural resources.

The country's current political structure dates to the adoption of a democratic constitution in 1991. Bulgaria is a unitary parliamentary republic with a high degree of political, administrative, and economic centralisation. It is a member of the European Union, NATO, and the Council of Europe; a founding state of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE); and has taken a seat at the UN Security Council three times

  • National Anthem of Croatia

    1:01

The lyrics to the anthem were first printed in Danica (The Morning Star) magazine in 1835, under the title “Hrvatska domovina” (“Croatian Homeland”). The music was composed later (1840s) by Josip Runjanin, a Croatian Serb, on the basis of Donizetti’s “O sole piu ratto” from the opera “Lucia di Lammermoor”. Later, in 1861, the score went through some minor changes done by V. Lichtenegger. In 1891 the song was first sung as the unofficial national anthem at an exhibition held by the Croatian-Slavonian Economic Society in Zagreb. (Croatia, still being part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, had that nation’s anthem as its official one.) It remained unofficial until February 29, 1972, when the first amendment to the Croatian Constitution declared it official (despite being part of Yugoslavia at the time) with a slight change in the lyrics upon 1990 independence.

    4:50

Macedonian traditional music (starogradska muzika) performed by the orchestra Čalgii - solists on the clarinet: A. Gelevski and Tale Ognenovski

Čalgija (Macedonian language: Чалгија) is a subgenre of the old urban traditional folk music (starogradska muzika) of Republic of Macedonia.

Čalgija is performed by ensembles called Čalgii (Чалгии) with instruments such as a dajre (tambourine) and tarabuka (hourglass drum) providing percussion for ut (lute), kanun (zither), clarinet and violin.

Čalgija is an old part of the whole Macedonian folklore art (this includes the rural folkore as well) and it should not be confused with chalga (a contemporary Turbofolk music style in neighbouring Serbia and Bulgaria).

  • Macedonia is not greek

    4:10

    Macedonia

In the inside of modern greeks is nothing but Albanians ( Arvanites), Macedonians, Christian Turks from Pontos and Asia minor, Aromanians and christian gypsies. The state of greece, which never existed in history was created in 1821 by the western powers, to use it as a biffer between Europe and the turks .After creating the state they had a bigger problem ? How to unite all different people in the state of greece as one nation. The answer was simple. They were all christians. So being christian orthodox was the definiton of being greek. This was in the first constitution of the newly created artificial state of greece. All theese people spoke different languages so they needed one language which will unite them. They chose the archaic language which they called greek which was based on medevial Koine language spoken only by the orthodox clergy ( same way LATIN was spoke all over Europe.) This new language was encouraged and enforced by the new goverment and all the other natural language were forbidden.. even to speak at home. People were getting fines for speaking their native language. year by year decade by decade , modern greek natiion was born. Many greeks are aware abou the total confusion about their pontik albanian aromanian, turkish origin but they dont want to accept that as a fact and falsely believe that is not true, and thats why they are so agressive towards anybody who tries to expose the real truth about their origin. The fuel for that is the revival of the great greek myth about a glorius past and connection with some antik people who lived on the same teritory some 25 centuries before them. As a famous greek writer says : We greeks need a national psychotherapy

    2:11

About this sound Ja, vi elsker dette landet (In English: Yes, we love this country), also known by the title Song For Norway, is a patriotic anthem, which has been commonly regarded as the de facto national anthem of Norway since early 20th century, after being used alongside Sønner av Norge since the 1860s. The lyrics were written by Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson between 1859 and 1868, and the melody was written by his cousin Rikard Nordraak sometime during the winter of 1863-1864. It was first performed publicly on 17 May 1864 in connection with the 50th anniversary of the constitution. Usually only the first and the last two verses are sung.

    Nuclear Hell

    Lyrics:
Nuclear opression, the beginning of a war
A dying population nailed to the floor
Everything is set to begin the calculation
Of the firepower needed for a world obliteration
    Contamination spreading desperation and decay
Everything that's holy shall collapse in disarray
Divided nations at the brim of absolute destruction
All shall bow before the terror in construction

    Chorus:
Will it ever end, nobody knows
Humanity succumbs as the desolation grows
The atmostphere is locked in a gammaray cell
Welcome to the age of the nuclear hell!

Apocalyptic sceneries reveal before your eyes
Religious dogmas will collapse, every hope dies
Fear is reigning on the streets, famine takes control
Entire populations face their final fall
Authorities do nothing to prevent the utter chaos
People rush in panic as the toxic fumes progress
Lack of hope dividing people as our race is dying
Stricken by atomic force in peace we all shall rest!

Bože pravde (Serbian Cyrillic: „Боже правде, meaning God of Justice or Lord, Give Us Justiceis the official anthem of Serbia until 2015, as defined by the Article 7 of the Constitution of Serbia. Bože pravde was the anthem of the Principality of Serbia and Kingdom of Serbia until 1918 when Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes was formed. It was recommended by the Parliament of Serbia on August 17, 2004[1] and constitutionally adopted on November 8, 2006. The recommended text was made Law on May 11, 2009.[4] The original song was written in 1872 with music by Davorin Jenko and lyrics by Jovan Đorđević. It was then a piece for the theater play Marko kazuje na kome je carstvo (Marko names the Emperor), and its immense popularity with audiences prompted its adoption as the Serbian national anthem.

While being the anthem of the Kingdom of Serbia, it occasionally was referred to as 'Serbian National Prayer'and the original lyrics contained a petition for the Serbian king. Various rulers of Serbia changed the words of the anthem to suit them. During the rule of Prince Milan I of Serbia, the words were God, save Prince Milan (knez Milana Bože spasi), which changed to King Milan when Serbia became a kingdom. Later the anthem was tailored to Peter I and Alexander I as well.During the time of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (later Kingdom of Yugoslavia), Bože pravde was part of its national anthem.

It was also used as an anthem of Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the period of 1991 to 2006, when it was ruled down by the country's constitutional court. The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has ruled against the use of Bože pravde as the anthem of Republika Srpska in 2006, declaring it unconstitutional, and the decision was upheld by the Constitutional Court of Republika Srpska. The new anthem of Republika Srpska was adopted in 2008.

Republika Srpska retained the old lyrics, while Serbia uses slightly modified lyrics, asserting that it is no longer a monarchy — four verses are different. In three, Serbian king (srpskog kralja) is changed to Serbian lands (srpske zemlje) and in one, God save the Serbian king (srpskog kralja Bože spasi, literally The Serbian king, O God defend) is changed to God save, God defend (Bože spasi, Bože brani).

In 1990s, Vostani Serbije and Marš na Drinu were proposed as the anthem of Serbia along with Bоže pravde. The latter, promulgated by then-ruling Socialist Party of Serbia, even received a plurality of popular vote on 1992 referendum, but it never got officially adopted.

  • National Anthem: Lithuania - Tautiška giesmė

    1:42

Tautiška giesmė (The National Hymn) is the national anthem of Lithuania, also known by its opening words Lietuva, Tėvyne mūsų (official translation of the lyrics: Lithuania, Our Homeland, literally: Lithuania, Our Fatherland) and as Lietuvos himnas (Hymn of Lithuania). The music and lyrics were written in 1898 by Vincas Kudirka, when Lithuania was still part of the Russian Empire. The fifty-word poem was a condensation of Kudirka's conceptions of the Lithuanian state, the Lithuanian people, and their past. Shortly before his death in 1899, the anthem was performed for Lithuanians living in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The first public Lithuanian performance of the anthem took place in Vilnius in 1905, and it became the official national anthem in 1919, a year after Lithuania declared its independence. Following the occupation and annexation of Lithuania by the Soviet Union in 1940, the anthem was forbidden to be played or sung in public.

Tautiška giesmė was reinstated in 1989 shortly before the reestablishment of Lithuanian independence and confirmed in the National Anthem Act (21 October 1991). It was automatically included as the national anthem in 1992, when the new Constitution was ratified after independence from the Soviet Union was achieved. The status of Tautiška giesmė as the National Anthem of Lithuania was further confirmed in 1999 with the passage of a national law stating that.

[UPDATED FROM 2013] The National Anthem of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Poland has remained as Mazurek Dąbrowskiego like its predecessor. However, their Flag has been very slightly changed, and their Coat of Arms was updated with a Star, Hammer and Sickle on the chest of the crownless eagle. The New Warsaw Pact and each of the 5 member nations were formed after the 2037-2039 Eastern Bloc Revolutions, which was aided by the New USSR's Armed Forces. Unlike the first Warsaw Pact, East Germany and Albania are absent, and Premier Latyeskov feared that if he were to recapture what was East Germany, a third World War would start. After the formation, diplomats from the Warsaw Pact member states along with ambassadors from the Western European states signed the Geneva Non-Aggression Pact during a conference in Geneva, Switzerland on August 23rd, 2039.

So in this anthem. Because there's 3 languages: Serbian, Croatian & Slovenian. I will put their country flag to their language lyrics. Serbian flag is red-blue-white, Croatian flag is red-white-blue (because of the Kingdom of Croatia-Slovenia flag used when it's still in Austria-Hungary) and to not confuse with Russian flag, I used the Duchy of Carniola flag which is a former flag of Slovenia that used back when it's still in Austro-Hungarian Empire.

The first & fourth verse are Serbian.
    The second verse is Croatian.
The third verse is Slovenian, the verse repeat twice.

    English:
The National anthem of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia (Serbo-Croatian: Himna Kraljevine Jugoslavije / Химна Краљевине Југославије, lit. Anthem of [the] Kingdom of Yugoslavia) was created in December 1918 from the national anthems of the Kingdom's three historical constituent lands: Kingdom of Croatia-Slavonia (Croatia), Kingdom of Serbia (Serbia) and Duchy of Carniola (Slovenia).

Although a law on the national anthem did not exist, the anthems of all three South Slavic nations were unified into a single anthem of the Kingdom. It started with a few measures from the Serbian anthem Bože pravde, continued with a few lines from the Croatian anthem Lijepa naša domovino, which were in turn followed by a few lines from the traditional Slovenian anthem Naprej zastava slave. The anthem finished with some lines from the Serbian anthem again.

It was officially used between 1919 and 1941; there was no official document that declared it invalid or void. The Constitution of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia was not in effect after the April capitulation.

This is a workshop from the new opera/musical, RED WHITE & BLUE with Contemporary Opera Los Angeles on September 6, 2007.
In this clip from Act II, John the director (Alphonzo Hicks) and Oscar the producer (Nicolas D'Ambra) are again making fun of Agnes the Stagehand (Susan Asbjornson) because she's actually never been anywhere but dreams of travelling and has carried a world map in her pocket since she was a little girl. Lyrics: Samuel Tomášik

Adopted in 1977 (by law, temporary), 1988 (by the Constitution)
    Relinquished in 1991

    Lyrics in Serbo-Croatian cyrillic:
    Хеј Словени, јоште живи
    Реч наших дедова
    Док за народ срце бије
    Њихових синова

    Живи, живи дух словенски
    Живеће веков’ма
    Залуд прети понор пакла,
    Залуд ватра грома

Нек’ се сада и над нама
    Буром све разнесе
    Стена пуца, дуб се лама,
    Земља нек’ се тресе

    Ми стојимо постојано
    Кано клисурине,
    Проклет био издајица
    Своје домовине!

    Lyrics in Serbo-Croatian latin:
    Hej Slaveni, jošte živi
    Riječ naših djedova
    Dok za narod srce bije
    Njihovih sinova

    Živi, živi duh slavenski
    Živjet će vjekov’ma
    Zalud prijeti ponor pakla
    Zalud vatra groma

Nek se sada i nad nama
    Burom sve raznese
    Stijena puca, dub se lama
    Zemlja nek se trese

    Mi stojimo postojano
    Kano klisurine
    Proklet bio izdajica
    Svoje domovine!

    Lyrics in Macedonian:

    Lyrics in Slovenian:
    Hej Slovani, naša reč
    slovanska živo klije
    dokler naše verno srce
    za naš narod bije

    Živi, živi, duh slovanski,
    bodi živ na veke,
    grom in peklo, prazne vaše
    proti nam so steke

    Naj tedaj nad nami
    strašna burja se le znese,
    skala poka, dob se lomi,
    zemlja naj se strese

    Bratje, mi stojimo trdno
    kakor zidi grada,
    črna zemlja naj pogrezne
    tega, kdor odpada!

Fantastica!
