We are climate scientists, Chicago style

Summertime in Chicago, feeling more like New Orleans,
I said, summertime in Chicago, feeling more like New Orleans,
    Hey, Hey,
Messing with the people and farmland in between.

Took a jump through Mississippi, muddy water was running high,
Took a jump to Alabama, tornadoes in the sky (you know what I mean)
    Hey, Hey,
Then out through California, where the reservoir was dry.

You might not see it in person, climate's changing just the same.
I said, You might not see it in person, climate's changing just the same.
    Hey, Hey,
Now you better worry, Mr. Messing-with-the-planet is his name!

My mother said I’m too romantic
She said ‘You’re dancing in the movies’
I only started to believe her
Then I saw you and I knew
Maybe it’s ‘cause I got a little bit older
Maybe it’s all that I’ve been through
I’d like to think it’s how you lean on my shoulder
And how I see myself with you
    I don’t say a word
But still you take my breath and steal the things I know
    There you go
Saving me from out of the cold
    Fire on fire
    Would normally kill us
    But this much desire
    Together we’re winners
They say that we’re out of control
    And some say we’re sinners
    But don’t let them ruin
    Our beautiful rhythms
    ‘Cause when you unfold me
And tell me you love me
    And look in my eye
    You are perfection
    My only direction
    It’s fire on fire
    It’s fire on fire
When we fight, we fight like lions
But then we love and feel the truth
We lose our minds in a city of roses
We won’t abide by any rules
    I don’t say a word
But still you take my breath and steal the things I know
    There you go
Saving me from out of the cold
    Fire on fire
    Would normally kill us
    But this much desire
    Together we’re winners

    ‘Cause when you unfold me
And tell me you love me
    And look in my eye
    You are perfection
    My only direction
    It’s fire on fire
    Oh
    It’s fire on fire
    Fire on fire
    Would normally kill us
    But this much desire
    Together we’re winners
They say that we’re out of control
    And some say we’re sinners

Climax Blues Band - I love you 1981

    When I was younger man I hadn't a care
Foolin' around, hittin' the town, growing my hair
You came along and stole my heart when you entered my life
Ooh babe you got what it takes so I made you my wife

Since then I never looked back
It's almost like living a dream
    And ooh I love you

You came along from far away and found me here
I was playin' around, feeling down, hittin' the beer
You picked me up from off the floor and gave me a smile
You said you're much too young, your life ain't begun, let's walk for a while

And as my head was spinnin' 'round
    I gazed into your eyes
And thought ooh I want you

Thank you babe for being a friend
And shinin' your light in my life
    'cause ooh I need you

    (Instrumental)

As my head was comin' round
    I gazed into your eyes
And thought ooh I want you

Thanks again for being my friend
    And straightenin' out my life
    'cause ooh I need you

    (Instrumental)

Since then I never looked back
It's almost like livin' a dream
    Ooh I got you

If ever a man had it all
It would have to be me
    And ooh I love you

  • Danny Seraphines CTA Chicago Does Anybody, Dialogue, Look Away, Color My World 2018

    17:41

CTA features original Chicago band drummer Danny Seraphine (1967-1990) and former Chicago keyboardist/vocalist/guitarist Bill Champlin (1981-2009). Early Chicago covered tributes are Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is? (1969 double-platinum Chicago Transit Authority), Dialogue (3:30) (Part I & II 1972 Chicago V), Look Away (7:29) (Chicago 19) and Colour My World (11:35) (CTA Full Circle, remake of 1970 Chicago II classic). Los Angeles-based CTA band were live in concert at The Rose, Pasadena, CA on August 31, 2018.

Other California Transit Authority (CTA) current band members are guitarist Marc Bonilla and bassist/vocalist Travis Davis, both of The Keith Emerson Band, keyboardist Ed Roth of Annie Lennox fame, vocalist Tony Grant of Az Yet and 3-piece horn section. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Chicago inductee Danny Seraphine first played drums with Chicago Transit Authority on CTA debut album in 1969. Blood, Sweat & Tears producer James William Guercio sold their jazz-rock horn sound to Columbia Records.

In Dialogue Part I, Bill Champlin covers Terry Kath first person vocals (repression... closing in around). Tony Grant sings Peter Cetera parts (everything is fine). Danny Seraphine introduced the song of a dialogue between two young people with different views that is as relevant in today's political climate as when released during the Vietnam War era in 1972. Dialogue Part II contains the more optimistic lyrics sung by the whole band, including we can make it better and we can change the world now.

Look Away was written by famed songwriter Diane Warren for Chicago 19. The soft rock ballad reached #1 in 1989, Chicago's biggest selling single of all time. Bill Champlin sings lead then and now.

On Colour My World, Marc Bonilla plays a beautiful, ethereal guitar rendition with Ed Roth's supporting keyboards and Tony Grant lead vocals. The powerful revised, studio version was released on CTA (California Transit Authority) album Full Circle.

Several thousand people missing. 76 thousand people left homeless, 70 thousand people in need of urgent help. The hurricane moved towards the United States and reached South, North Carolina and Canada, and then reached the shores of Finland and Estonia.

TYPHOON LINLIN hit China, having affected 455 thousand inhabitants. Over 2,800 people were evacuated. After this, the force of nature reached Miyako island (Japan). Wind gusts were up to 219 km / h (136 miles/h). Up to 236 mm of precipitation fell on the island during the day.

FAXAI TYPHOON has hit Honshu Island (Japan). Record wind gusts up to 207 km / h (128.6 miles/h) were observed.
TROPICAL CYCLONE IMELDA was formed in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, having turned into a storm. Wind speed reached 64 km / h (39.8 miles/h). The storm reached the shores of Texas state, USA, causing floods in 5 counties. In Sargent, Matagorda County, the amount of precipitation reached 508 mm, a little over a third of the monthly rainfall!

LANDSLIDES and FLOODS. Heavy rains led to landslides in China and India, to floods and mudflows in central Morocco. In northern Algeria, in the city of Skikda, about 127 mm of precipitation fell in just one day, and this is 4 times bigger than the monthly rainfall!
SNOWFALLS and ABNORMAL FROST. Heavy snowfall hit Swiss, Austrian and Italian Alps. In a few days, up to 40 cm of precipitation fell on the Austrian Hintertux and Stubai glaciers, up to 50 cm on the Stelvio Pass (Italy). In Russia, the first snow fell in Krasnodar Krai, near Gorky ski resort in Sochi. It it the first such an early snow in 30 years!

On August 10, 2019, numerous lightning strikes were recorded about 480 km from the North Pole, these are one of the most northern lightning strikes in the history of Alaska! According to new analysis, the closest observed lightning strikes at the North Pole occurred on June 28, 2019 in 177 km. What does these phenomena mean?

  • Couldnt Get It Right - Climax Blues Band

    3:08

Climax Blues Band, originally known as the Climax Chicago Blues Band, was formed in Stafford, England in 1968. The original members were guitarists Peter Haycock and Derek Holt, keyboardist Arthur Wood, bassist Richard Jones, drummer George Newsome, and vocalist and harmonica player Colin Cooper. In 1970, the group shortened its name to the Climax Blues Band due to pressure from the American band Chicago Transit Authority, later known simply as Chicago. The band has released at least seventeen albums and had a Top 10 hit with Couldn't Get It Right, which reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1977. Led by Cooper, the former frontman of the R&B group the Hipster Image, the Climax Chicago Blues Band was one of the leading lights of the late 1960s UK blues boom. Prior to the release of 1969's Plays On, Jones left the group, prompting Holt to move to bass. In 1970 they moved to the Harvest Records label, at the same time shifting towards a more rock-oriented sound on A Lot Of Bottle. Around the release of 1971's Tightly Knit, Newsome was replaced by John Cuffley. Upon Wood's exit in the wake of 1972's Rich Man, they continued on as a quartet, also dropping the Chicago portion of their name at that time. In 1974 the Climax Blues Band issued FM Live, a document of a New York radio concert. 1975's Stamp was their commercial breakthrough, and 1976's Gold Plated fared even better, spurred on by the success of the hit single Couldn't Get It Right. By the mid-1970s they were drawing crowds of up to 20,000 at U.S. concerts. However, the rise of punk rock effectively stopped the group in their tracks. Cooper died of cancer at age 69 in July 2008. However, the band continues to tour to the present day. This channel is dedicated to the classic rock hits that have become part of the history of our culture. ... will pretty much drop a bomb on Chicago's independent music community, if not nuke it entirely.
    - Jim DeRogatis, Chicago Sun-Times

... it doesn't meet any public need and is very ill-suited to Chicago's independent music community - as written, it is unconstitutional.

The ordinance will reduce the amount of music in Chicago, make events more expensive for consumers, dampen the large and growing economic engine that is Chicago music, and create a much less supportive business climate for Chicago's small music business community.

    I can almost see it
    That dream I'm dreaming but
There's a voice inside my head sayin,
    You'll never reach it,
    Every step I'm taking,
    Every move I make feels
    Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
    Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what?s waiting on the other side
    It's the climb

    The struggles I'm facing,
    The chances I'm taking
Sometimes they knock me down but
    No I'm not breaking
    I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm going to remember most yeah
    Just got to keep going
    And I,
    I got to be strong
    Just keep pushing on, cause

There's always going to be another mountain
I'm always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes I'm going to have to lose,

    Keep on moving
    Keep climbing
    Keep the faith baby

    Keep the faith
    Keep your faith

    ►About InfernoFactory.
Our channel was created because we love playing with House Music, mainly genres such as Future House, Deep House, Bass House and G-House. Of course, we don't limit ourselves to other types of music. We create DJ Sets from the best tracks. Our goal is support artists by uploading Music Mixes and single tracks. We want to provide artists with a new audience and promote the works of less known creators. Our community brings together people for whom this type of music is a part of their lives and people who contribute to the development of House Music. We support artists who create original high-quality and also underground sounds. That's what we do. Music is part of our culture that connects people with each other, has a positive effect on well-being and there is also a form of rest. Everyone usually enjoys the music. Making music is not only fun but also work that we respect. These two issues can be combined, which is what we want to show. Everyone can create music, if they love it. Also, our videos aims to encourage more people to become part of the House Music community and to create their own music. If you love these sounds and have been looking for it for a long time, you've come to the right place. Now, you don't have to search for your favorite tunes, you'll find them all in our DJ Sets. Our Mixes fit perfectly at the party and in the car. However, if you don't know what is House Music, we'll show you! The best way to do that is if you listen to it yourself.

Chicago's Promoters' Ordinance Kills Independent Music: Part 05 of 07

    A documentary by JaGoFF.

... will pretty much drop a bomb on Chicago's independent music community, if not nuke it entirely.
    - Jim DeRogatis, Chicago Sun-Times

... it doesn't meet any public need and is very ill-suited to Chicago's independent music community - as written, it is unconstitutional.
    - Henry H. Perritt, Jr., Professor of Law, Chicago-Kent College of Law

I cannot imagine a major metropolitan city, a world class city with the stature of Chicago having an ordinance like this on the books. It's frankly embarrassing ...
    Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune

... a threat to the creative communities throughout the country and sets a very dangerous precident - as one city goes, so goes another. Rinse and repeat.
    - John E. Showbiz, TheRecordIndustry.com

this really has a chilling effect...
Shawn Campbell, CHIRP [Chicago Independent Radio Project]

The ordinance will reduce the amount of music in Chicago, make events more expensive for consumers, dampen the large and growing economic engine that is Chicago music, and create a much less supportive business climate for Chicago's small music business community.
    - The Chicago Music Commission

    Artist: True'Pa Da Don
Album: As My Angels Play On
    Year: 2002
    Location: Chicago,Illinois

Peep what marvel the hip-hop climate has blown in... He heralds from the mackadosious mid-west. Chicago, Ill-noise as is most often called by the rappers, game spitters and lyrical wizards these days.
Though born on October 28th in Chicago's own Norwegian American Hospital, this 'west side child' was raised in the Dirty-Dirty i.e. between Westpoint and Columbus, Mississippi, where Truepa Tha Don developed his rap skills.
Tha Don started rapping at the tender age of nine(9) and just as most celebrities, he was always dreaming of being a big star and being bred from an entire family that's musically inclined, a Star is exactly what this son of a local blues singer is destined to be.
Dreams of making it big is one thing but sometimes a life of pain and poverty and things like troubles with the law can deny one of such opportunities, but Truepa Tha Don never once came 'undon' nor gave up and he's still going.
In 2000, Truepa released his first CD off a local indie record label in Burhnam, Illinois (Selective Records) entitled Wages of Sin which did good (for his debut), but Truepa wasn't happy with his sales and as a result of his unhappiness he severed business ties with Selective Records the following year.
Truepa moved back to Mississippi to further his passion for success, but success on a whole new level. Truepa started his own indie lable (1st. Familia Records, llc) and released another CD off his very own label entitled Return of Tha B.O.$. (2003 1st. FAMILIA RECORDS llc.)It excelled everything, business wise that his old lable did for his carrer. The following year Tha Don was personally called upon by the C.E.O. Carlos Tick Walker of Lokee RECORDS to join the local label, based out of West Point, Mississippi, for a 2 year 2 album deal of which was also mismanaged by Lokee Records.
Truepa released another CD off his own independent lable entitled Dat'z Ganksta, Mixtape, Vol. I (2005 1st. FAMILIA RECORDS llc.) which did exceptionally well for Tha Don. Tha Don also released two singles in 2012 entitled SHAWTY WANNA RIDE & GET IN MY CAR, both did great!
Truepa Tha Don has also released a huge single that would be an anthem for The State of Mississippi entitled KROOKED LETTERS which is predicted by expert musicians as being the record that will catapult Truepa Tha Don's to the top. Indeed Truepa Tha Don is a very hard working artists who has created a brand new genre of rap music which he titles R&G MUSIC (for Rythm & GangStar Music: a smooth fusing of rap and blues.
Truepa Tha Don brings the true meaning of the term versatility to the game. He has a quadra-style of flow. He is Truepa with that Tupac-ish, ScarFace-ish, DMX-ish, Young Jeezy type rap style all in one. He has adorned the same stage with the likes of Cash Money Records' Lil Wayne, Atlanta native Pastor Troy, Yo Gotti. Truepa has-to-count, over 4,500 rap songs, all of which were written and performed by him. Truepa Tha Don currently has a couple of hot new singles on the air as we speak and they're really making a bigger name for Tha Don.
Truepa talks about dreams, love, pain, fortune and fame, partying, motivation vand O yeah! A whole lotta 'gangsta-gangsta (sssshhh).Look, don't take my word for it! Just listen to a Truepa Tha Don record and witness the magic for yourself.
