    My world is miles of endless roads
    That leaves a trail of broken dreams
    Where have you been
    I hear you say?
    I will meet you at the Blue Cafe
    Because, this is where the one who knows
    Meets the one who does not care
    The cards of fate
    The older shows
    To the younger one, who dares to take
    The chance of no return

    Where have you been?
    Where are you going to?
    I want to know what is new
    I want to go with you
    What have you seen?
    What do you know that is new?
    Where are you going to?
    Because I want to go with you

    So meet me down at the Blue Cafe

    The cost is great, the price is high
    Take all you know, and say goodbye
    Your innocence, inexperience
    Mean nothing now

    Because, this is where the one who knows
    Meets the one that does not care
    Where have you been?
    I hear you say
    I'll meet you at the Blue Cafe

    So meet me at the Blue Cafe............

  • Chris Rea - There She Goes

    4:35

    There She Goes is one classic ballad of the God's Great Banana Skin Album by Chris Rea.

    God's Great Banana Skin is the twelfth studio album by Chris Rea, released in 1992. The album wasn't released in the USA, though some tracks later appeared on the US release of Rea's following album Espresso Logic.

    The song Too Much Pride was featured in the 1993 Erotic Thriller Cold Sweat.

    Chris Rea was interviewed at The Mill Recording Studio, Cookham, Berks on 22nd September 1992 by John Pidgeon and said:
    Songs like There She Goes are difficult to explain in interviews because they don't have a topical flavor to them.
    In my opinion, to blow my own trumpet, There She Goes is just a bloody good song.
    Sometimes they are hard to get onto an album and hard to discuss because it's just an emotion ... -Chris Rea-

    Personnel :

    Chris Rea - vocals, guitar, producer
    Robert Ahwai - guitar
    Sylvin Marc - bass
    Max Middleton - piano, keyboards
    Martin Ditcham - drums, percussion
    Val Chalmers - backing vocals
    Emma Whittle - backing vocals
    Neil Amor - engineer

    Lyrics:
    There she goes, the one that I love
    The one I've been waiting for
    The one I've been dreaming of
    There she goes, but she'll never be mine
    Wasted all of my chances
    Run clean out of time

    There she goes with the wind in her hair
    And a smile on her face
    She doesn't know what I'd give just for one moment
    To be in his place
    Anyway
    Take a look, there she goes
    Take a look, there she goes

    There she goes with the wind in her hair
    And a smile on her face
    She doesn't know what I'd give just for one moment
    To be in his place

    Anyway
    Take a look, there she goes
    Take a look, there she goes....

  • Chris Rea - Tell Me Theres A Heaven

    6:04

    Tell Me There's A Heaven from album The Road to Hell.

    The Road to Hell is the eleventh studio album by Chris Rea. It was released in 1989 and is one of Rea's most famous albums. The second part of the two-part title track, The Road to Hell (Pt. 2), is also one of Rea's most famous songs.
    The album cover features art by the English commercial artist, Adrian Chesterman.

    Lyrics:

    The little girl, she said to me
    What are these things that I can see?
    Each night when I come home from school
    When Mama calls me in for tea

    Oh, every night a baby dies
    And every night a mama cries
    What makes those men do what they do?
    To make that person black and blue

    Grandpa says they're happy now
    They sit with God in paradise
    With Angels' wings and still somehow
    It makes me feel like ice

    Tell me there's a Heaven
    Tell me that it's true
    Tell me there's a reason
    Why I'm seeing what I do

    Tell me there's a Heaven
    Where all those people go
    Tell me they're all happy now
    Papa, tell me that it's so

    So, do I tell her that it's true?
    That there's a place for me and you
    Where hungry children smile and say
    We wouldn't have no other way

    That every painful crack of bones
    Is a step along the way
    Every wrong done is a game plan
    To that great and joyful day

    And I'm looking
    At the father and the son
    And I'm looking
    At the mother and the daughter

    And I'm watching them in tears of pain
    And I'm watching them suffer
    Don't tell that little girl
    Tell me

    Tell me there's a Heaven
    Tell me that it's true
    Tell me there's a reason
    Why I'm seeing what I do

    Tell me there's a Heaven
    Where all those people go
    Tell me they're all happy now
    Papa, tell me that it's so.

  • Chris Rea - Auberge

  • Chris Rea - Nothing to Fear

    8:58

    Chris Rea was interviewed by John Pidgeon:
    - Tell us about Nothing to fear
    Nothing to fear is a song about a European guy welcoming Muslims, and the gist of the story is that if you show us we have nothing to fear, you know, there's gonna be no problem. And it's asking them to show a sign of peace. It's one of those songs that can get me in trouble sometimes, in the wrong context because I like to do double meanings and things like that, I was always a great poetry fan. And, then song also applies to a man and a woman, or any relationship, in it's beginning, and it's basically saying, you know, you've got to show each other that there's nothing to fear.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I feel your heat in dusty whispers
    The wind is cold around your moon
    It's getting hard to keep our distance
    I know your time is coming soon
    Don't point your dream on my horizon
    Don't take your rose too far from home
    Please don't forget we're not each other
    Each soul has black thorns of his own
    I see you dancing
    Your song is clear
    You've got to show me, got to show me
    There's nothing to fear
    Nothing to fear
    I have my loved ones you have yours
    So let us gaze upon the feast
    In God's own name let's eat together
    In God's own name please come in peace
    See how our children play together
    While you and me we stand alone
    I know we'll never be each other
    If I leave you leave me alone
    I see you dancing
    Your song is clear
    You've got to show me, got to show me
    There's nothing to fear
    Nothing to fear
  • Chris Rea - The Mention Of Your Name
    3:19
    The Mention Of Your Name appears on the album Auberge.
    Auberge (a French word meaning inn) is an album by Chris Rea, released in 1991.
    The album as well as the title song was mostly notable for the association of the Caterham Super Seven that he owned, in which he called it the Blue Seven.
    That car appeared on the album cover, illustrated in oil by renowned motoring artist Alan Fearnley. The album makes several reference to the car over several tracks, as well on the video of the title song and its cover illustration was used for its adverts. In 2005, Rea sold his car in an auction. Auberge was a #1 album in the UK in 1991. The title track also gave Rea one of his biggest chart hits, reaching #16 in the UK charts.
    Lyrics:
    Time goes by and every single tear
    It must have well run dry
    And the lonely nights
    Become a strange accepted way
    And the years go past
    Just like the old song says
    The pain with time has healed, it couldn't last
    But oh a friend like a fool
    Mentions your name
    Sunny days, drunken nights
    You smile and say, it's alright
    But oh the cold cold rain
    At the mention of your name
    Forgive me please
    If I shrug my shoulders
    When I put my friend at ease
    As I get older
    It's not that I don't feel colder than before
    Oh I've become so good at hiding
    What I feel without confiding
    It's still the same, darling still the same
    At the mention of your name.
    3:32
    Somewhere in this crazy night
    With all this noise,
    and all this light
    I'm out upon the crowded street
    I play the game and I keep the beat
    Woo-oo
    But I'm thinking of you
    Woo-oo
    But I'm thinking of you
    And I remember the summer days
    Your strenght and yet your gentle ways
    Now I'm back on the crowded street
    Through the darker days
    I keep the beat
    Woo-oo
    But I'm thinking of you
    Woo-oo
    But I'm thinking of you
    Through all the grey, I
    see skies of blue
    I close my eyes cause
    I'm thinking of you
    And I pray to god, that what we had
    We will have again someday
    So I telephoned to tell you what
    I'd hoped you'd like to hear me say
    Woo-oo
    But I'm thinking of you
    Woo-oo
    But I'm thinking of you
    Sing a song of love to me
    As the shadows start to grow
    And I won't be sad and lonely
    Anymore
    'Cos if you sing a song of love to me
    I will always find a smile
    That will warm my cold cold heart
    Just for a while
    Songs of love
    I know so well
    I've seen some days
    And had sometimes
    Lucky boy I can hear you say
    You think my sun does nothing but shine
    Sing a song of love to me
    One more time before I go
    And I won't be sad and lonely
    No, I won't be sad and lonely
    Anymore...
    О любви мне песню спой-
    Мрак сгущается когда-
    Не грусти и одинокой не будь ты- никогда.
    Ведь когда ты песню о любви- поёшь-
    Улыбку я найду всегда-
    Ту, что пламя в сердце разожжёт-
    Хоть иногда.
    Песне о любви я рад всегда-
    Дни те рад я вспоминать-
    Слышать счастлив был тогда-
    «Праздный солнца свет твой должен сиять!»
    О любви, прошу- мне песню спой-
    Ещё раз, пока здесь я.
    И не буду грустным и одиноким,
    Нет, не буду грустным и одиноким
    Я никогда.
    CHRIS REA ???? Fool (If You Think It's Over)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    Lyrics:
    A dying flame,
    You're free again
    Who could love ?, and do that to you
    All dressed in black
    He won't be coming back
    You Save your tears,
    You've got years and years
    The pains of seventeen's
    Unreal they're only dreams
    Save your crying for the day
    Fool if you think it's over
    Cause you said goodbye
    Fool if you think it's over
    I'll tell you why
    New born eyes always cry with pain
    At the first look at the morning sun
    Fool if you think it's over
    It's just begun
    Miss teenage dream,
    Such a tragic scene
    He knocked your crown and ran away
    First wound of pride and how
    you cried and cried
    But save your tears you've
    got years and years
    instrumental ????
    I'll buy your first good wine
    We'll have a real good time
    Save your crying for the day
    Fool if you think it's over
    'Cose you said goodbye
    Fool if you think it's over
    I'll tell you why
    New born eyes always cry with pain
    At the first look at the morning sun
    That may not come but anyone
    Who had to pay would laugh at you and say
    Fool if you think it's over
    'Cose you said goodbye
    Fool if you think it's over
    I'll tell you why
    (Fool if you think it's over)
    (Fool if you think it's over)
    Letra, by daniel tuvi
    -------------------------------
    Una llama agonizando
    Eres libre otra vez
    Quien capaz de amar, te hace eso a ti??
    Toda vestida de negro
    El no va a regresar
    Ahórrate las lágrimas,
    Tienes años y años por delante
    Las penas de los diecisiete
    No son reales son solo sueños
    Ahórrate el llanto durante el día
    Tonta si piensas que se termino
    Porqué dijiste adiós
    Tonta si piensas que se termino
    Te diré por qué.
    Los ojos del recién nacido siempre lloran con dolor
    En la primera vista del sol en la mañana
    Eres una tonta si piensas que se termino
    Recién comenzó
    Perder los sueños adolescentes,
    Como una trágica escena
    El golpeo tu corona y huyo
    Fue la primera herida al orgullo y como
    Lloraste y lloraste
    Pero ahórrate las lágrimas,
    Tienes años y años por delante,
    Tonta si piensas que se termino
    Porqué dijiste adiós
    Tonta si piensas que se termino
    Te diré por qué
    (Tonta SI Piensas Que Se Terminó)
    (Tonta SI Piensas Que Se Terminó)
    Te comprare tu primer buen vino
    Tendremos un verdadero buen momento
    Ahórrate el llanto por el día.
  • Chris Rea - Gone Fishing
    4:44
    Gone Fishing from album Auberge by Chris Rea, released in 1991.
    Chris Rea interview - summer 1991, for the song ''Gone Fishing''.
    I know a lot of people have remarked to me they have listened to the record, I like that song, that's what we should do, just go fishing, forget about everything. The funny thing about that song is as I say in the song, I don't know anything about fishing. he bottom line of the tune is that when you get to the last day of your life and you look back, and you see how many hours you've spent in traffic-jams, pushing and shoving, how many hours you've spent elbowing people out of the way and being elbowed out of the way; You just thing to yourself I wish I had all them hours back, cos I may as well have gone fishing...
    This video clip is part of TV series Extreme Fishing with Robson Green in Channel 5.
    Lyrics:
    I'm gone fishing
    I got me a line
    Nothing I do is gonna make the difference
    So I'm taking the time
    And you ain't never gonna be happy
    Anyhow, anyway
    So I'm gone fishing
    And I'm going today
    I'm gone fishing
    Sounds crazy I know
    I know nothing about fishing
    But just watch me go
    And when my time has come
    I will look back and see
    Peace on the shoreline
    That could have been me
    You can waste a whole lifetime
    Trying to be
    What you think is expected of you
    But you'll never be free
    May as well go fishing...
    Dedicated to my fishing partner...
    . Lyrics . She's 24, she's 25
    She does don't know what's true or lies
    Where does she go?
    Where does she go from here?
    He's 21, he's 22
    TV crap is all he knew
    Where does he go?
    Where does he go from here?
    She goes to shool
    She stays at home
    Wherever she goes, she feels so alone
    Where does she go?
    Where does she go from here?
    They'r 34, they're 45
    They're so obsessed with the car they drive
    Where do they go she says
    Where do we go from here?
    Love is a stranger, with a siliconsmile
    As you choke on your envy, down the magazine mile
    You must look, but don't touch
    You must but, but don't feel
    One day you will find out
    None of it 'is real
    Lyrics
    My world is miles of endless roads
    That leaves a trail of broken dreams
    Where have you been
    I hear you say?
    I will meet you at the Blue Cafe
    Because, this is where the one who knows
    Meets the one who does not care
    The cards of fate
    The older shows
    To the younger one, who dares to take
    The chance of no return
    Where have you been?
    Where are you going to?
    I want to know what is new
    I want to go with you
    What have you seen?
    What do you know that is new?
    Where are you going to?
    Because I want to go with you
    So meet me down at the Blue Cafe
    The cost is great, the price is high
    Take all you know, and say goodbye
    Your innocence, inexperience
    Mean nothing now
    Because, this is where the one who knows
    Meets the one that does not care
    Where have you been?
    I hear you say
    I'll meet you at the Blue Cafe
    ''Big White Door'' From box set album Blue Guitars Album Number Nine Celtic & Irish Blues.
    Chris Rea released his box set album, Blue Guitars in 2005. Consisting of 11 CDs and 1 DVD (Dancing Down The Stony Road), the album is Rea's testament to blues. Each album contains self compositions, played and performed in a specific genre of the blues.
    The box set includes a book containing reproductions of colourful paintings by Rea. In an interview with the Britsound Radio Show, Rea declared that this box set album is a result of his love for the blues it's just my first love. You know if you take music as romance, then blues was my first love you know, it's my wife. And it's with me all the time, and I just adore it.
    Blue Guitars is a Blues album released by Chris Rea on October 14, 2005 consisting of eleven CDs, one DVD and a full colour book, including paintings by the artist, liner notes and song lyrics. The album is an ambitious project with the 137 songs recorded over the course of 1 years with a work schedule according to Chris Rea himself of twelve hours a day, seven days a week. Initially the project was inspired by Bill Wyman's Blues Odyssey and can be called an odyssey in its own right, for depicting a journey through the various epochs of Blues Music, starting at its African origins and finishing with modern time Blues from the 60s and 70s.
    Subsequently the eleven CDs are titled the following: Beginnings , Country Blues , Louisiana & New Orleans , Electric Memphis Blues , Texas Blues , Chicago Blues , Blues Ballads , Gospel Soul Blues & Motown , Celtic & Irish Blues , Latin Blues and 60s & 70s .
    The collection is the fifth and last release in a line of Blues recordings, Chris Rea has made since recovering from a serious disease at the turn of the millennium and promising himself a return to his Bluesy roots in the event that he survived. According to Rea Blue Guitars will be his last solo effort however, he will continue to release albums as a member of the band Memphis Fireflies.
    The Blues went in yet another direction, when it started to mingle with Celtic and Scottish Irish influences, forming still another hyid. The general feeling of sadness, loss and blues, which is inherent in the Scottish, Irish and Celtic roots anyway, together with an all new instrumentation could lay the basis for a different kind of approach, giving the Blues the typical Celtic feel.
    Lyrics:
    Looks like I'm flying
    But I'm crawling slowly
    I learn the way to swim
    Is just to let it go
    Don't expect nothing
    Don't smile or grieve no more
    Except maybe a little more pain
    And a little more closely
    To the big white door
    First time I saw it
    My fear ran wild
    Screaming like a drowning man
    Crying like a child
    But each time I lashed out
    It seem a little closer than before
    Then it rose up like a giant
    The screaming silence
    Of that big white door
    Of that big white door
    Now I'm gliding on the fast flow
    Now I'm falling through the air
    Seems like everything is moving slowly
    Now I find I don't seem to care
    A little closer
    A little darker
    'Til there's nothing else more
    Just the universe in shadow
    Of the big, the big white door
    Of the big white door.
  • Chris Rea - The Memory Of A Good Friend
    3:54
    The Memory Of A Good Friend from a 2000 album - King of the Beach.
    A sequel of sorts to his earlier On the Beach, King of the Beach continues the laid-back mood of the earlier album but is (despite the goofy title) a more mature and unified work. It's one of his best albums and is a return to form after the film soundtrack La Passione and the more electronic sounds of The Road to Hell Part 2. Written primarily during a vacation in the Turks and Caicos Islands, it's replete with lots of beach and summer imagery in the titles (King of the Beach, All Summer Long, Sandwriting, Sail Away) as well as the lyrics, which were originally written as poems.
    Chris Rea - vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards,
    Hammond organ, drum programming, producer.
    Max Middleton - Rhodes piano
    Pete Wingfield - Hammond organ
    Martin Ditcham - drums, percussion
    Julie Isaac - backing vocals
    Debbie Longworth - backing vocals
    Neil Amor - engineer
    Arun Chakraverty - mastering
    Tommy Willis - coordination
    John Knowles - management
    Peacock - design, illustrations
    John Miller - cover painting
    Lyrics:
    I love the sun
    I love the sea
    I'd like to think that you
    were here with me
    But people are seasons
    and seasons change
    I'd like to think that you
    are still the same
    Sometimes you made me happy
    Sometimes you made me cry
    But the memory of a good friend
    never dies
    Between the lines
    of an aging face
    something special that you can't replace
    But people are seasons
    and seasons change
    I'd like to think that you
    are still the same
    Sometimes you made me happy
    Sometimes you made me cry
    But the memory of a good friend
    never dies
    And I see you standing
    by the harbour wall
    And I see you waving
    from the aeroplane
    Two hearts together
    laughing in the rain.
    6:42
    SANTO SPIRITO BLUES - 2011.
    SANTO SPIRITO FILM MUSIC.
    COVER ART BY : MARK GEE.
    LYRICS :
    Somewhere between the stars
    I will be waiting here for you.
    Somewhere between the stars
    We will past everything, everything we knew.
    There’ll be no need to say hello
    How it is we both will know
    Forever this will be the way we are
    Somewhere, somewhere between the stars
    Somewhere between the stars
    Though you can’t see me- I am always there.
    Somewhere beyond the Moon
    There will be no sadness, will be no fear.
    We past a mountain high
    A way past the dark blue sky
    Together forever will be once
    Somewhere, somewhere between the stars.
    There’ll be no need to say hello
    How it is we both will know
    Forever this will be the way we are
    Somewhere, somewhere between the stars
  • Chris Rea - Raincoat And A Rose
    4:08
    Album: Deltics (1979)
    ***
    lyrics:
    Rain, tears of joy, tears of pain
    Is this really me
    Standing here at the station
    The card said I mustn't be late
    I've never been late
    I've never really had the chance
    Years and years and not even wanting a second dance
    'Look for a raincoat and a rose'
    I hope no one sees, they'll laugh I know
    He was always like that, yes it always showed
    Did I do something wrong to have to pay
    In many more ways than one
    Rainy day, what do I say
    How simple it's all become
    Love is for fools and fools have no grace
    Damn them while you can
    Out here on the fence is such a lonely place
    I wish I was foolish now
    The greatest of pain is never really knowing
    Maybe today I'll find out this way
    The way that I'm going
    'Look for a raincoat and a rose'
    ***
    Prochowiec i Róża
    Deszcz, łzy radości, łzy bólu
    Czy to naprawdę ja
    Stoję tutaj, na stacji
    Kartka mówi, że się nie spóźniłem
    Ja nigdy się nie spóźniałem
    Nigdy nie miałem naprawdę okazji
    Tyle lat a ja nawet nie chciałem drugiego tańca
    Spójrz na prochowiec i różę*
    Mam nadzieję, że nikt nie widzi, śmialiby się, wiem
    On był zawsze taki, tak to było zawsze widać
    Czy robię coś źle, że muszę płacić
    Na wiele więcej sposobów niż ten
    Deszczowy dzień, co mogę rzec
    Jak łatwo to wszystko się dzieje
    Miłość jest dla głupców, a dla głupców nie ma łaski
    Wyślij ich w diabły dopóki możesz.
    Tutaj za ogrodzeniem jest tak odludnie
    Teraz żałuję, że byłem głupi
    Największy ból to nigdy naprawdę nie wiedzieć,
    Może dziś dowiem się w ten sposób
    Sposób, w jaki działam
    Spójrz na prochowiec i różę
