    Lyrics:

    Now baby come one
Don't claim that love you never let me feel
    I should have known
    'Cause you brought nothing real
Come on be a man about it
    You won't die
I ain't got no more tears to cry
And I can't take this no more
You know I gotta let it go
    And you know

    I'm outta love
    Set me free
And let me out this misery
Just show me the way to get my life again
    'Cause you can't handle me
    (I said) I'm outta love
    Can't you see
Baby that you gotta set me free
    I'm outta love

  • Andrea Berg Ja Ich Will Yamaha Genos Roland G70 By Rico

    3:30

Andrea Berg Ja Ich Will Yamaha Genos Roland G70 By Rico

Andrea Berg (born 28 January 1966) is a German singer in the schlager genre. She sold over 10 million records in her career.

Berg was born in Krefeld. As a child she would experiment with performing short sketches at carnivals and other celebrations. She later played with a band, and also worked backstage on stage set-up and drove the band's van. During this time she supported herself working as a nurse in the intensive care and oncology departments of a hospital.

Berg's musical career began in 1992 when the producer Eugen Römer obtained a cassette of her performing. He was enthused by her voice, and within a week the first tracks had been recorded for her debut album Du bist frei (You Are Free), which contained the singles Kilimandscharo and Schau mir noch mal ins Gesicht. Römer also produced her second album, Gefühle (Feelings), which proved her commercial breakthrough. The singles from the album, Wenn du mich willst, dann küß mich doch and Einmal nur mit dir alleine sein, were hits. The album also featured one of her most popular songs, Die Gefühle haben Schweigepflicht.

In 1997, she released her third album, Träume lügen nicht (Dreams Don't Lie), which reached #71 on the German album charts. The first single, Warum nur träumen, was a #1 hit on some radio playlists and stayed in the charts for 15 weeks.

In summer 1998 the birth of her daughter Lena-Maria was followed by the release of the album Zwischen tausend Gefühlen (Between a Thousand Feelings), with twelve songs. The singles from this album were Diese Nacht soll nie enden, Insel der Nacht and Jenseits der Zärtlichkeit (1999).

The next album was Weil ich verliebt bin (Because I'm in Love) in 1999, with the single Vielleicht ein Traum zu viel. This reached #3 in the ZDF-Hitparade in November 1999. Berg also reached #3 in Hits of the Year in January 2000 and was #1 for several weeks in the German airplay charts.

In October 2001, a best-of was released, featuring twelve of her most popular songs. The album went seven-times platinum[2] and was in the German top 100 albums chart for a record-breaking stay of over 336 weeks. 2.1 million copies have been sold.

She has sometimes had as many as four releases in the German charts simultaneously.

She won the ECHO award in the German-language Schlager category in 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2007. From 2002 to 2007, she won Germany's prestigious Goldene Stimmgabel six times consecutively, as well as the Amadeus Austrian Music Award for best Schlager album in 2004 and 2005. Her CD Nah am Feuer went gold.[3]

The 2006 album Splitternackt (Stark Naked) went straight to #1 in Germany and remained there for several weeks.

The hit Du hast mich tausendmal belogen reached #2 in the GEMA chart of collected international sales.

Berg is known not only for her music but also increasingly for her stage outfits. She favours short miniskirts, suspenders, and knee-highs. She has been quoted (in the Neue Post) as saying When you reach 40 you do have to make an effort to keep the men looking in your direction. (Wenn man auf die 40 zugeht, muss man sich eben anstrengen, damit die Männer einem noch hinterherschauen.)

From 2002 to 2004, Berg was married to the schlager singer Olaf Henning. In 2007 she married Ulrich Ferber, a sports agent and hotelier. They currently live together with her daughter in Aspach, Baden-Württemberg.

Her new album, released October 2010, Schwerelos received platinum after 6 days. It went straight to No. 1 in Germany and Austria.

  • Soul of Jazz; Elfa Secioria

    18:02

Grand prize winners at last year's Choir Olympics in Busan and at a similar competition in Linz, Austria in 2000, is a group of more than 40 performers.

The troupe's leader, Elfa Secioria, is a grand figure in the region's music scene. Born in 1959 to Hasbullah Secioria, a famous musician and conductor, he has been dedicated to performing and music education.

He founded Elfa's Music Studio, a private music school, and selected the best students from the school to tour around the world as cultural envoys of the country.

Elfa's Jazz & Pop Singers have released 18 albums since their debut in 1984, selling more than 3 million copies. Especially popular around Southeast Asia, they've picked up awards at various music contests, including Indonesia Pop Song Award in 1988 and Thai International Jazz Festival in 1996.

The group united with Elfa's Choir, composed of 32 singers, in 1988, to form the present group. The choir is known for singing a cosmopolitan repertoire in the Indonesian style.

(Born Februari 20, 1959 in Garut, West Java) is an Indonesian composer, arranger and Jazz Musician. Elfa appears as Music Director, Arranger on score Sherina Musical Movie and Andhien single album Bisikan Hati.

His many awards Grand Champion and Gold Medal include; 1st Choir Olympic 2000, Linz, Austria; 2nd Choir Olympic 2002, Busan, South Korea; 3rd Choir Olympic 2004, Bremen, Germany and 4th Choir Olympic 2006, Xiamen, China...

The Choir lead by famous Indonesian musician, Mr. Elfa Secioria, once again gained achievement in Italy, 22 -- 24 October 2004.

The International Choir Competition & Festival in Grado, Italy is a routine happening held by Inter-Culture World Organization Foundation based in Germany.

Besides Indonesia represented by Elfa's MYC, the festival also followed by other 13 countries which are Russia, Hungarian, Germany, Austria, China, Poland, Argentina, Denmark, Slovenia, Norway, Czech, Estonia and Britain.

On the festival Elfa's MYC brought 2 affiliated classic songs: 'Contrapunto bestialle alla mente' and 'Nightingale, the organ delight', also 2 ethnic songs: 'Paris Barantai' and 'Batak Medley'.

Through the process of panel judgment, Elfa's MYC finally grabbed 3 Prizes: Golden Prize, Special Prize for Outstanding Artistic Choir and also Champion Of The Category for Mix Junior Category.

The achievement in Grado added the champion list of the choir lead by Mr. Elfa Secioria as on July 2004 in Bremen, Germany, Elfa's Singers and Elfa's Ethnic Choir were crowned as The World Champion at The International Choir Olympic Champion. That's the third times they became the Olympic champ after Olympic 2000 in Linz, Austria and Olympic 2002 in Busan, Korea. 3 times in a row!!

On that 3rd Choir Olympics, 2 Golden Champions for Indonesia came from Vocal Jazz With Accompaniment Category with score 91 and for Popular Choir Category, both by Elfa's Singers. The Vocal Jazz Category is the highest gold prize thus the winner in this category should become the grand champion.

Indonesia also got 3 Gold, one of them came from Folklore With Instrumental Accompaniment Category by Elfa's Ethnic Choir with score 82.75.

Mr. Secioria's arranged songs that finally grabbed gold are: How High The Moon, Bungong Jeumpa/Acehnese, No More blues, Minang Medley, Take Five, Sundanese Medley, Stompin at the Sandy Medley, and Janger/Balinese and many more.

For this great achievement, the world admits that Indonesia is the world direction of reference popular choir. Ironically, never once of these achievements got attention from the government. The contingents always had to pay themselves for joining this competition. They stay in a cheap hotel, pay the bills themselves and even happened to walk to the competition area just like they did in Bremen.

  • A Brief History of 20th Century Classical Music

    14:18

Where the timeline of classical music history was more or less a line, a series of relatively consistent and coherent approaches one after another, classical music in the 20th century was more like a complicated game of Tetris, a bunch of interlocking and overlapping pieces. So why not visualise it as one! That's what I did in this video.

  • DONIZETTI: Roberto Devereux 2016 Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova

    6:54

Roberto Devereux (1837) saw the light of day during a period of intense creativity for Donizetti. After its première and up until 1848, Devereux was performed almost uninterruptedly. In the years that followed it would also enjoy a successful international career, throughout Europe and in the Americas, with versions in French, German, Russian and Hungarian. When Donizetti moved to Paris in 1838, he enriched the opera with the overture that paraphrases the British anthem God Save the Queen. The Queen dominates from her very entrance, a true protagonist, here performed by the great MARIELLA DEVIA: her pure voice, perfect intonation, great stage presence, all combined with the technical qualities of this immortal singer, led to an extended standing ovation. It was a great success, too, for Sonia Ganassi (Sarah) and for the tenor, Stefan Pop (Devereux).

Filmed in HD on March 2016 at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova. AVAILABLE in CD, DVD and Blu-ray.
Subtitles in Italian, English, German, French, Japanese and Korean.

ALL PLAYING, NO TALKING :) Welcome to another playing-only video where you get to listen to these wonderful instruments in the comfort of your own home. Stu Harrison from Merriam Pianos plays another one of his favourite jazz standards, “In The Wee Small Hours of the Morning”, a song written for the great Frank Sinatra. The video is ‘playing-only’, so please be sure to check out our other review video where we take a thorough look at the instrument’s details and features.

The C. Bechstein Concert 8 Upright Piano is regarded by many to be the finest upright piano money can buy. It’s scale design is practically perfect, with a terrific balance from bass to treble; the transition from steel to copper strings is almost undetectable, and the action design feels like a grand. The piano makes use of Val Di’ Fiemme spruce, something no other upright piano in the world can claim. The pianos are meticulously hand-made in Germany, and utilize much of the same design and material elements as their Concert-series grands - also a rarity in the piano world.

We hope you enjoy the video, and for a full in-depth look at the instrument, be sure to check out the full review of the Concert 8 on our channel.

    Thanks for watching!

I Found My Love in Portofino Dalida / Andrea Bocelli Yamaha Genos Roland G70 By Rico

Iolanda Cristina Gigliotti (Italian: [joˈlanda krisˈtina dʒiʎˈʎɔtti]; 17 January 1933 – 3 May 1987), better known as Dalida (Egyptian Arabic: داليدا‎), was a French singer and actress. She spent most of her career in France and acquired French citizenship in 1961 upon her marriage, while maintaining her original dual Egyptian-Italian citizenship.

She won the Miss Egypt beauty contest in 1954. She performed and recorded in ten languages (French, Italian, German, Spanish, English, Egyptian and Levantine Arabic, Japanese, Hebrew, Dutch and Greek). She was twice honoured with the “Oscar mondial du succès du disque” (World Oscar of Recording Success), and she is the only singer to have won this award more than once. In Europe she popularized musical genres like the twist (as dance), pop, disco, reggae, and the raï.

Her 30-year career began in 1956 and ended with her last album in 1986, half a year before her death, while continuing to hold concerts until her last days. Her suicide led to an iconic image as a tragic diva and renowned singer. She received more than 90 gold records and was the first singer to receive platinum and diamond discs. She has sold 170 million albums and singles worldwide

Andrea Bocelli, OMRI, OMDSM (Italian pronunciation: [anˈdrɛːa boˈtʃɛlli]; born 22 September 1958) is an Italian singer, songwriter and record producer.[1][2] Born with poor eyesight, Bocelli became completely blind at the age of 12, following a football accident.

Bocelli has recorded fifteen solo studio albums, of both pop and classical music, three greatest hits albums, and nine complete operas, selling over 80 million records worldwide.[3][4] He has had success as a crossover performer bringing classical music to the top of international pop charts.[1][5][6]

In 1998, Bocelli was named one of People's 50 Most Beautiful People.[7] In 1999, Bocelli was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards. The Prayer, his duet with Celine Dion for the animated film Quest for Camelot, won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song and was nominated for an Academy Award in the same category.[1] With the release of his classical album, Sacred Arias, Bocelli captured a listing in the Guinness Book of World Records, as he simultaneously held the top three positions on the US Classical Albums charts.[1] Seven of his albums have since reached the top 10 on the Billboard 200,[8] and a record-setting ten have topped the classical crossover albums charts in the United States.[9]

With five million units sold worldwide,[10] Sacred Arias became the biggest-selling classical crossover album by a solo artist of all time,[1] and with over twenty million copies sold worldwide,[10][11] his 1997 pop album Romanza became the best-selling album by an Italian artist of any genre in history,[10] as well as the best-selling album by a foreign artist in Canada[12][13][14] and a number of countries in Europe and Latin America.[1] The album's first single, Time to Say Goodbye, was a duet with Sarah Brightman that topped charts across Europe, including Germany, where it stayed at the top of the charts for fourteen consecutive weeks, breaking the all-time sales record, with over three million copies sold in the country.[1] The single went on to sell over twelve million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling singles of all time.[11][15][16]

Bocelli was made a Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic in 2006 and, on 2 March 2010, was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contribution to Live Theater.

Portofino (Italian pronunciation: [ˌpɔrtoˈfiːno]; Ligurian: Portofin) is an Italian fishing village and holiday resort famous for its picturesque harbour and historical association with celebrity and artistic visitors. It is a comune located in the Metropolitan City of Genoa on the Italian Riviera. The town is clustered around its small harbour, and is known for the colourfully painted buildings that line the shore

Pliny the Elder (AD 23 – AD 79) referred to Portus Delphini (Port of the Dolphin) as on the Ligurian coast between Genoa and the Gulf of Tigullio (it).[7]

The village is mentioned in a diploma from 986 by Adelaide of Italy, which assigned it to the nearby Abbey of San Fruttuoso di Capodimonte. In 1171, together with the neighbouring Santa Margherita Ligure, it was included in Rapallo's commune jurisdiction. After 1229 it was part of the Republic of Genoa. The town's natural harbour supported a fleet of fishing boats, but was somewhat too cramped to provide more than a temporary safe haven for the growing merchant marine of the Republic of Genoa.

The male a cappella ensemble Quartonal was founded in 2006, and is one of the most promising vocal groups to emerge from Germany in recent years. In 2010, the four singers (Mirko Ludwig - tenor, Florian Sievers - tenor, Christoph Behm - baritone and Sönke Tams Freier - bass) from Hamburg gave a sensational debut performance at the German National Choir Competition, winning first place in the Vocal Ensemble category. Launched by their success at the competition, Quartonal immediately embarked on a busy schedule of national and international concerts. Quartonal’s debut album, “Another Way – English Vocal Music,” was released in 2013 in collaboration with Sony Music. Its release was met with critical acclaim and glowing reviews.

Following their success at the German National Choir Competition, Quartonal earned a number of plaudits at competitions around Europe. In 2012, Quartonal was awarded audience and jury awards at the “A cappella” contest in Leipzig (Germany) and the “Tolosako Abesbatza Lehiaketa” choir competition in Tolosa (Spain).

Quartonal performs music from across the male voice repertoire, singing classical works ranging from the Renaissance period to the 21st century, alongside folksongs and pop music. Quartonal is committed to working with contemporary composers such as Philip Lawson (a former member of the King’s Singers) and arrangers Patrick Prestel and Christoph Gerl. At the same time, they continue to perform traditional church music, an attachment which stems from their educations in northern German boys’ choirs. The seamless combination of classical and contemporary vocal music has become a trademark of their concerts.

For their first album “Another Way – English Vocal Music,” Quartonal recorded music by English composers of the 20th and 21st century. Simple folksong arrangements contrast with romantic-style pieces such as Alec Rowley’s sea cycle ‘Full Tide,’ which describes the rough life at sea and the squalor of the harbours. The recording also features works by the famous English composers Ralph Vaughan Williams (‘The Vagabond’) and Arthur Sullivan (‘The Long Day Closes’). Finally, three world premieres take the album into our century, with new commissions by British composers Philip Lawson, Graham Lack and Thomas Hewitt Jones, whose piece ‘Another Way’ gave the album its name.

This year expects to be a very exciting year for the group. Along with several concerts and multiple international festivals the ensemble will release their second album with Sony Music in the beginning of 2017.

Dave Liebman - How to Approach Standards Chromatically

David Liebman - Soprano Saxophone, Joey Calderazzo - Piano, Dave Holland - Bass, Jack DeJohnette - Drums

David Liebman was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 4, 1946. He began classical piano lessons at the age of nine and saxophone by twelve. His interest in jazz was sparked by seeing John Coltrane perform live in New York City clubs such as Birdland, the Village Vanguard and the Half Note.

Throughout high school and college, Liebman pursued his jazz interest by studying with Joe Allard, Lennie Tristano and Charles Lloyd. Upon graduation from New York University (with a degree in American History), he began to seriously devote himself to the full time pursuit of being a jazz artist.

In the early 1970s, Liebman took the leading role (as President) in organizing several dozen musicians into a cooperative, Free Life Communication which became an integral part of the fertile New York loft jazz scene in the early 1970s and was funded by The New York State Council of the Arts and the Space for Innovative Development.

After one year spent with Ten Wheel Drive, one of the early jazz fusion groups, Liebman secured the saxophone/flute position with the group of John Coltrane's drummer, Elvin Jones. Within two years, Liebman reached the zenith of his apprenticeship period when Miles Davis hired him. These years, 1970-74, were filled with tours, recordings and the incredible experience gained by being on the band stand with two masters of jazz. At the same time, Liebman began exploring his own music-first in the Open Sky Trio with Bob Moses and then with pianist Richie Beirach in the group Lookout Farm. This group recorded for the German based ECM label as well as A&M Records while touring the U.S., Canada, India, Japan and Europe. Lookout Farm was awarded the number one position in the category Group Deserving of Wider Recognitionin the 1976 Downbeat Magazine's International Critics' Poll.

In 1977, Liebman did a world tour with pianist Chick Corea followed up the next year by the formation of the David Liebman Quintet with John Scofield, Kenny Kirkland and Terumasa Hino as featured sidemen. After several world tours and recordings by the quintet over three years, he reunited with Richard Beirach. They began performing and recording as a duo, as well as creating the group Quest in 1981. Beginning with bassist George Mraz and drummer Al Foster, the group solidified when Ron McClure and Billy Hart joined in 1984. Through 1991, Quest recorded seven CDs, toured extensively and did many workshops with students worldwide.

Liebman's present group formed in 1991 includes guitarist Vic Juris, bassist Tony Marino and drummer Marko Marcinko. With these musicians he has pursued an eclectic direction in recording projects that has ranged from jazz standards to Puccini arias, original adaptations from the John Coltrane and Miles Davis repertoires, original compositions in styles ranging from world music to fusion, always maintaining a repertoire that balances the past, present and future.

Over the past several decades, Liebman has often been featured with top European musicians such as Joachim Kuhn, Daniel Humair, Paolo Fresu, Jon Christensen, Bobo Stenson and in the World View Trio with Austrian drummer Wolfgang Reisenger and French bassist Jean-Paul Celea. His reputation in Europe has led to big band and radio orchestra performances, such as with the WDR in Koln, Germany, the Metropole Orchestra of the Netherlands and the new music Klang Forum in Vienna, Austria playing music specially commissioned to feature Liebman's unique soprano saxophone style. He has consistently placed among the top finalists in the Downbeat Critics' Poll since 1973 in the Soprano Saxophone category. As of the present, David Liebman has been featured on nearly 300 recordings, of which he has been the leader and/or co-leader on nearly 100. Well over 200 original compositions have been recorded. His artistic output has ranged from straight ahead classic jazz to chamber music; from fusion to avant garde.

Excerpt from Romane Gilia ft. Tcha Limberger Vol.1. In the Gypsy language, Romane Gilia means Gypsy songs. This is a collection of rare manouche songs performed by Tcha Limberger. Backing tracks minus bass, guitars, violin are available for practicing. Includes backing tracks, lead sheet and guitar voicings.

In this excerpt, Tcha Limberger plays a song called Fuli Tschai, which was made famous by the German Sinto Schnuckenack Reinhardt.

    About Romane Gilia:

Romane Gilia in Sinti Romani means Gypsy songs. Romani is the language of the Gypsies. The dialect in these songs is the dialect spoken by the Sinti, also known as Manouche. The Sinti mainly live in western Europe in countries such as Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, northern Italy. The legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt was a Sinto. At the height of his popularity, and following his death, he inspired many within his community to pursue a similar musical path. These Sinti then gave birth to what is now called Gypsy Jazz or Jazz Manouche; a broad and even ambiguous term to describe what has become somewhat of a folkloric style.

The songs presented in this collection are rarely heard outside of the Manouche community. These songs are often melodies inspired by various folk styles of music played by Gypsies across Europe, but adapted within the context of Django Reinhardt's style. These songs exemplify the Gypsy aspect of Gypsy Jazz.

The Sinti dialect of Romani has no standardized spelling system, and, as such, each song will be spelled differently according to what one hears and according to the rules of each host country's spelling system; the French may write Fouli Tchaï; whereas the Dutch may write Voeli Tschaj, etc. Furthermore, since the language is strictly passed on orally, many variations of the dialect exist. Tcha Limberger, a Belgian Sinto, speaks the dialect of many Belgian Sinti. Last but not least, the issue of language is extremely sensitive in the Sinti community; many do not want outsiders to understand their language. As respect to the Sinti community, we have chosen not to provide the lyrics and translations to these songs.

    About Tcha Limberger:

Tcha Limberger was born in a ‘Manouche’ family with a long-standing musical tradition (his grandfather was the legendary Piotto Limberger). Both his father Vivi, singer and guitar player, and his Flemish mother raised him to understand and appreciate their respective cultures. As a child, Tcha was determined to become a flamenco singer. At age twelve, he started playing the clarinet, joining the family orchestra ‘The Piotto’s’. Meanwhile, he studied the flamenco guitar, but because of a lack of good teachers, he switched to Django-style guitar playing, learning from masters such as Fapy Lafertin and Koen De Cauter. At that time, he worked with ‘Het Muziek Lod’, where he met Dick Vanderharst, who introduced him to contemporary classical music and modern jazz. Tcha’s good friend and colleague, Herman Schamp, exposed him even more deeply to classical music and composing. When Tcha was seventeen, he started studying the violin, inspired by stories on his grand-father and recordings of Toki Horvath. By the time he was twenty-one, he left Belgium for Budapest, where he took classical and tzigane classes from Horvath Bela.

  • João Pedro Teixeira - Acordeon Festival Especial

    5:43

    Contact:

With the great musicians: Richard Galliano, Luiz Carlos Borges, Bertrand Cervera, Felipe Harp, Leandro Panneitz, Rafael Sluminsky, Renato Lima, Marcio Brosowsky.

João Pedro Teixeira's solo performances are distinct. Audiences can detect multiple musicians through an artist of universal ability. His two accordions (piano and eight-bass diatonic), on which he plays his own compositions and interpretations, reveal a musician without category or label.
Still, João is well versed in his cultural roots, executing delicate and sophisticated pieces. His broad repertoire encompasses a variety of rhythms from Brazil and Latin America, jazz, and classical music. Compositions by his mentor and friend Hermeto Pascoal are salient in Joo's performances.
