I do not own the copyright to this recording so if it needs to be removed, I will remove it. This video is for educational purposes only

Arkansas bluesman Calvin Leavy was born in 1940. Between the mid-1960's and the early 1980's he recorded singles for labels such as Acqurian, Soul Beat and Downtown. His most famous song was Cummins Prison Farm recorded in 1968, that reached the top 40 in both the R&B & pop charts in 1970. Leavy had served a stretch in the Cummins Penitentiary for a minor unknown crime, in the 1960's. In 1992 Leavy was incarcerated again and sentenced to 75 years for drug-related charges as a result of a bust in Little Rock. Gov. Mike Huckabee later reduced his sentence to 25 years because of his health. Leavy passed away on June 6, 2010 from complications of diabetes, a year before he was to be released from prison.

This May Be My Last Time Singing - Raw African-American Gospel on 45 RPM 1957-1982 Disc 3
Audio CD Release Date: September 20, 2011
Three CD collection of rare Gospel recordings. Get ready for fiery sanctified soul, heavy Pentecostal jams, drum machine gospel, slow-burning moaners, glorified guitar sermons and righteously ragged a cappela hymns! The music on this compilation was originally released on small label 45s, mostly in the 1960s and '70s. At least one-third of the records were self-released, paid for by a church congregation or the artists themselves. Others were on regional labels (typically run by one single producer) little known today outside of a small circle of collectors. This vibrant music is incredibly honest and almost criminally unknown. All tracks were sourced from 45s collected over the last decade by compiler Mike McGonigal, who also produced 2009's three disc set Fire in My Bones: Raw + Rare + Otherworldly African-American Gospel.
    Track Listing - Disc 3:

I have always held a deep interest in the work songs as evidenced by my rendition of Calvin Leavy's prison blues song. I recently had the opportunity to tour the Missouri state prison which I was very excited and had missed making the tour the previous year. When I walked away from this prison tour, I found it to be sobering to say the least. I thought the picture slides would go well with my. Blues 2.0 on Electri-fi records.

    1. Jesus Is On The Mainline – The Whirlwinds
    2. God Don't Take No Vacation – Bro. Smith & His Stars Of Harmony
    3. The Lord Will Make A Way – Sensational Six
    4. Oh Lord Help Me – Fire Side Spiritual Singers
    5. God Is Taking Care – Deacon James Williams
    6. Supernatural Prayer, Pts. 1 & 2 – The Pastor That Lives Faith
    7. Jesus Will Fix It – Pleasant Grove Community Chorus Of Saulsburg, TN Led By Marvin McCulery
    8. He Walks With Me, Pts. 1 & 2 – Calvin Leavy & The Cummins Prison Farm Singers
    9. All Wrap Up In One – Otis Wright With The Spiritual Harmonizers
    10. Bless The People Everywhere – Burden Lifters
    11. Milky White Way – The Zion Travelers
