Skin Deep featuring Buddy Guy | Playing For Change | Song Across America

    5:33

We kindly invite you to SUPPORT OUR WORK AND GET ACCESS to more videos and free downloads:

Playing For Change and Buddy Guy united to record and film his anthem, “Skin Deep” across America. The song includes over 50 musicians from coast to coast featuring Buddy Guy, Tom Morello, Billy Branch, Chicago Children’s Choir, and Roots Gospel Voices of Mississippi. Originally, this was going to be a song across Chicago to bring light to all the violent shootings across the city but as time marched on, along with various shootings across our country, we realized we needed to expand our vision and use this song as a tool to unite our divided nation.

Skin Deep is the first song from our Listen to the Music series — our newest body of work comprising 12 new Songs Around The World and featuring Buddy Guy, The Doobie Brothers, Warren Haynes, Dr. John, Jack Johnson, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and many more. All music in this series was recorded live outside with a mobile studio and features over 200 musicians from 25 different countries. The album is available now with one new video from the series dropping every month!

100% of Playing For Change’s profits from this album will go to the Playing For Change Foundation, helping to support music education across the globe. Listen to the music; change the world!

Playing For Change (PFC) is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music, born from the shared belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people. The primary focus of PFC is to record and film musicians performing in their natural environments and combine their talents and cultural power in innovative videos called Songs Around The World. Creating these videos motivated PFC to form the Playing For Change Band—a tangible, traveling representation of its mission, featuring musicians met along their journey; and establish the Playing For Change Foundation—a separate 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world. Through these efforts, Playing For Change aims to create hope and inspiration for the future of our planet.

Buddy Guy - Feels Like Rain - 03 - Feels Like Rain

    4:39

Down here the river, meets the sea
And in the sticky heat I feel ya' open up to me
Love comes out of nowhere baby, just like a hurricane
    And it feels like rain
    And it feels like rain

Lying here, underneath the stars right next to you
And I'm wondering who you are and, how do you do? How do you do,baby?
The clouds roll in across the moon, and the wind howls out yourname
    And it feels like rain
    And it feels like rain

We never going to make that bridge tonight baby
    Across lake Ponchartrain
    And it feels like rain
    And it feels like rain

So batten down the hatch baby, and leave your heart up yoursleeve
It looks like we're in for stormy weather, that ain't no causefor us to leave
Just lay here, in my arms, let it wash away the pain
    And it feels like rain
    And it feels like rain

Buddy Guy plays Stormy Monday as Jimi Hendrix watches in awe. Then about half way through the video Jimi gets on stage with him. Definitely not high-quality video but talent sure is high-quality and then some....enjoy! This is from 1968.

Bobby Parker, Clarence Gatemouth Brown and Buddy Guy are all headline acts in their own right so it was a real coup to get them on one line-up.
