Today Marty Schwartz teaches a an easy but awesome e blues scale.

I don't know about you, but I get HAPPY playing the Blues.

Weird, isn't it? Well, not really... not if you love the Blues as much as I do.

I'm sure you can relate. There is just something about playing Blues music that gets to the very CORE of why I love guitar so much.

Problem is, a lot of guitarists struggle with playing the Blues because they get caught up in practicing the wrong things, or they try to incorporate elements that don't really fit acoustic blues.

Playing acoustic Blues requires a special set of skills that is actually quite simple to master if you attack it the right way.

That's why I have created a brand new program that does just that. And I'm happy to say I've succeeded wildly.

    So let me ask you...

Have you ever dreamed about playing gritty, back alley Blues like Stevie Ray Vaughan?

Imagine sitting down with the blues master himself in the dark recesses of a Texas dive bar as he breaks down his most prized licks just for you ...

Or what if BB King sauntered over with his cherished rosewood Gibson under his arm on break at a seedy backwoods bar so that he could take your hands and SHOW you exactly how he wrings such soulful expressions out of his beloved Lucille?

White Hot Licks ... Sizzling Blues Riffs ... Bone-Crunching Solos ... Your Guitar Playing
Will Vault to Masters-Level Using These Time-Proven Methods

We don't have to tell you that there is nothing cooler --- and we mean NOTHING --- than being able to play gritty, back-alley, juke joint blues for yourself or your friends whenever you want.

We know this because every time we hear B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan or Eric Clapton produce a piece of searing, white-hot supernatural brilliance from their guitars we get a gut-level reaction that's hard to put into words.

We know you know what we mean.

Marty Schwartz teaches you 3 acoustic blues chords (E7, A7 B7).

Well, first of all, let it be known that no one digs old-school blues more than me.

Whether it's that sweet sound of B.B. King or the deep swamp soulfulness of the postwar Delta blues, I LOVE the essential blues sound that helped build the foundation of just about every guitar genre you can think of. That stuff is timeless, and my devotion to it is complete.

But it occurred to me that I never really sat down to create an entire program to teach you how to modernize the foundational blues so that you could get more gigs and become totally versatile.

I mean, seriously, have you heard what the Black Keys are doing with some pretty simple blues rhythms?!!

Have you heard how Jack White rips his killer garage band sound from the depths of blues fundamentals?

Or how about the way Gary Clark Jr adds distortion to his octaves?

I have demystified ALL of these incredible techniques (and a ton more) in this set. When you modernize the old-school blues essentials with what some of the best bands are creating today, you have come full circle and all of a sudden there ain't nothin' you can't do on guitar ... seriously!

  • The Blues Scale and the Major Pentatonic Scales on the Guitar

    10:00

Be sure to visit to download the tablature and MP3 Jam track for this lesson.

This lesson gives a brief overview of the major and minor pentatonic scales on the guitar, which are (in my opinion) the only 2 scales you really need to know well. You can play just about anything with these 2 scales (in fact, they're the only scales I know!). I give some examples using each scale and explain how the major pentatonic scale is the happier sounding scale, versus the minor pentatonic scale which is more sad (also referred to as the blues scale). Be sure to download the tablature and MP3 jam track for this lesson to practice these!

  • One-Minute Guitar Lesson With TAB: The E Blues Scale

    1:55

    * great new videos, giveaways and more at !

    *

Here is a quick lesson on one of the most USEFUL scales you will ever learn. Master this scale and you'll have a head start on dozens of classic riffs. You'll also be able to begin improvising guitar solos in the most common guitar player's key, the key of E. Make sure you practice this scale using Alternate Picking (down-up-down-up) and fret with the same fingering you see here (your pinky gets a vacation in this video!) **Don't let your scale practicing become BORING ! Record yourself strumming an E7 chord and then improvise a lead guitar solo using notes from the E Blues Scale!** An E7 chord is : index finger on the first fret of the G string and middle finger on the second fret of the A string. Yes, I know this One-Minute video is closer to two minutes. It's because I care too deeply. **If you don't see the TAB in this video, it may be your ad-blocking setting in your browser.** Thanks for watching - please LIKE and SUBSCRIBE and consider supporting the cause through PayPal via my channel page, jkehew1.

One scale to rule them all? The minor blues scale is maybe the most useful scale you will ever find. Why? Because it's applicable in any situation - even if it doesn't fit, it's gonna sound cool!

I think of it as the ultimate guitar scale, for that reason. The major scale is probably the most important scale, but it doesn't work everywhere, whereas the minor blues scale, kind of does!

Now, I must stress that this blues scale run is an exercise. Remember that. It's not a solo and there is NO phrasing here. The point is, practicing this way till force you to know where the notes are, and you'll have more fretboard confidence as a result. You fingers and your brain will come together as one - mistakes are less likely happen when you do this enough.

The way I play this scale run came about from me practicing. I deliberately came up with some interesting note patterns, some of which I often use myself in solos. In other words, it's not just the scale played sequentially, note for note. Nope, I have some melodic ideas in there. However, there is no rhythmic phrasing at all - it's just a stream of notes as an exercise, but it IS a good one!

    Hope you like it!

Blues Scale In A - Guitar Lesson Breakdown!

➤ Grab the lesson Reference Material here:

Ahhh the blues scale in A… virtually everyone’s favorite scale in almost everyone’s favorite key! But how many of us REALLY use the full extent of it?

In this video we take the beloved blues scale in A and put it under a microscope of sorts. We’re going to examine every single note in the scale to see what really makes it tick.

I break down the blues scale in A, note for note, to get a feel for what sounds we can really get out of this thing beyond just playing the scale up and down.

After all, playing a scale up and down is just exercise, you’re not making music.

So by knowing what each note of the blues scale in A can give us, we can start creating musical phrases and sound more and more like our blues heroes!

The most exciting part about this lesson will be showing you how to do all of this BEFORE you even try playing the blues scale in A at a jam or to a backing track! Just you and your guitar, the way it was always meant to be :)

Once you can make the blues scale in A sound killer just by yourself, imagine how much of a badass you’re gonna be when you play to a backing track, or with friends or a band.

When that happens, be ready for getting stank faces from everyone watching and listening. That’s the highest compliment a musician can get!

???? AND DON’T FORGET!! Grab your FREE Guitar Cheat Sheet here:

???? That Cheat Sheet will take what you just learned and show you how to play it in ANY key! So now you know the blues scale in A, next you’re gonna know it in every other key under the sun.

E Blues Scale: How it's Constructed and How to Play It on the Guitar

    ==================================================

In this lesson, we'll cover exactly how the blues scale is constructed by introducing you to the blues scale formula. This formula never changes. As long as you play this scale formula, you're playing the blues scale!

We'll then construct the E Blues Scale using the formula.

Knowing scales is super important and it will certainly make you a more well-rounded and confident player.

Messiahsez This is a lesson about The E Blues Scale and The E shuffle. It is to prepare you to play like Lightnin Hopkins.

Here is an example of Lightnin Playing The E Blues Shuffle.

I am giving you the notes he is playing (mostly) and showing you the shuffle beat. Mr. Hopkins had a TON of personality and style. It is hard to teach that, but I suggest learning some technique and then letting loose. Yo.

Lets examine the E minor pentatonic scale, played in first position and using open strings. We begin with a low E, sounded by the open sixth string, followed by G (sixth string/third fret), A (open fifth string), B (fifth string/second fret), D (open fourth string), E (fourth string/second fret), G (open third string), A (third string/second fret), B (open second string), D (second string/third fret), E (open first string) and G (first string/third fret). In this solo, I additionally utilize the E Blues scale, which is the same as E minor pentatonic but includes the flatted fifth, Bb, located at the first fret of the fifth string and the third fret of the third string.

These scales, incidentally, are also used prevalently in rock as well as many different styles of music, and are essential scales for all guitar players, regardless of the style of music they play, to be well familiar with.

Within the context of slow blues, these scales played in this position are incredibly useful, as one can take great advantage of the open strings to play fast licks articulated with pull-offs, hammer-ons and slides. Be sure to experiment with these scales in this position to discover some interesting variables of your own.
