  • Richard Reynoso: A Luthiers Craft in Art Deco Los Angeles

Although the classical guitars of Richard Reynoso are fully traditional in construction design and largely inspired by the great Spanish makers of the past, they do have a voice and personality that is entirely his own. See in this short documentary how Richard's artistic style is informed in subtle ways by his immediate environment - the classic architecture seen in some of Hollywood and downtown Los Angeles' most iconic historical buildings of the art deco era. His love of hard yet graceful lines and contrasts is expressed in his signature carved headstock, and exquisite rosette design which draws from his love of art-deco styled chandeliers and ancient Egyptian jewelry.

  • Chicago Hip Hop Architecture Camp

The official music video for The Chicago Hip Hop Architecture Camp®. The song was independently written by the participants during the one week camp.

The Hip Hop Architecture Camp® is an international, award winning camp designed by Michael Ford, The Hip Hop Architect, to introduce under represented youth to architecture, urban planning, creative place making and economic development through the lens of hip hop culture. The Camp is based on the 4C's which are Creativity, Collaboration, Communication and Critical Thinking. During the camp, students are paired with architects, urban planners, designers, community activists and hip hop artists to create unique visions for their communities which include the creation of physical models, digital models and the creation of a Hip Hop Architecture track and music video summarizing their designs.

Thanks to our host partners at The Chicago Architecture Center, SAE Institute Chicago for recording the young people and special shout out to Atlanta based rapper, Destiny Da Chef, for teaching the young people how to write a verse and to Edgar Quintanilla at Chicago Architecture Foundation for serving as co-producer on the track.

Last, thanks to our national sponsors Autodesk Tinkercad, and our strategic partners The Universal Hip Hop Museum, and The Urban Arts Collective.

The World's Columbian Exposition (the official shortened name for the World's Fair: Columbian Exposition, also known as the Chicago World's Fair) was a world's fair held in Chicago in 1893 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' arrival in the New World in 1492. The centerpiece of the Fair, held in Jackson Park, was a large water pool representing the voyage Columbus took to the New World. Chicago had won the right to host the fair over several other cities, including New York City, Washington, D.C., and St. Louis. The exposition was an influential social and cultural event and had a profound effect on architecture, sanitation, the arts, Chicago's self-image, and American industrial optimism.

  • Crossmods - Temporary Architecture

UKR brings the quality you expect once again with this powerful release titled 'Temporary Architecture EP' from French duo Crossmods, accompanied by exquisite remixes from legendary Sway Records founder Hertz, German techno heavy-weight Christian Kliché, and Chicago's infamous Lester Fitzpatrick and Drew Sky. We brought the big guns in on this jewel of a release.

The stage is set as things open up with two analog masterpieces, handcrafted with attention to detail and intricate automation on a world-class level. Both 'Temporary Architecture' and 'Splitsen' weave acid lines, synths, percussion and effects in an effortless groove that keep the listener engaged and enthralled at the same time. Two stories are told here, and two classics are born from the minds they call Crossmods.

With his music production memoirs just recently published, we thought it was fitting to have Swedish techno hero Hertz on board for this one. Known for his unbeatable production skills and first-rate taste in source material, we reached out to Pierre Jerksten aka Hertz on this project and what a remix he delivered! Hertz jacked, twisted and flexed 'Splitsen' into a massive floor burner, elevated with impeccable placed audio trickery done only they way Hertz does it. Grainy, wide, phat, deep and full of attitude, Hertz brought things to a level that few can attain.

As if things couldn't get any more intense we brought in Christian Kliché from Cologne, Germany for a belter of a remix of 'Splitsen'. This sublime, futuristic, throbbing remix will pack the floor without hesitation as it bends reality with its analog undertones and warped out effects. Meant for the loudest of sound systems, this epic re-work will have heads turning and techno-heads scratching their heads with amazement. This is the true sound of German techno brought to you from a creative mind as sharp as a razor. Christian Kliché on top form and undoubtedly a name to pay close attention to.

Lastly but definitely not least and in for the kill to bring you to your knees, we brought in two UKR Chicago techno dons who deliver tom laced, acid curdling jacking re-works of 'Temporary Architecture'. Known for their unfiltered raw take on everything banging, Lester Fitzpatrick and Drew Sky work their magic once again with their straightforward no-nonsense mixes of the incredibly complex original, stripping it of all its pretense and pushing it down your throats with intensity and attitude. These two Chi-town techno tools bang tough and deliver what UKR is known for...pure heat from the streets.
