Disco singer and former Seventies hard core adult star Andrea True performs on rock concert as The Andrea True Connection in September 1976. Deep Throat II 1974 and other film clip snippets are interspersed.

Written and produced by Gregg Diamond, More, More, More became Andrea True's signature song. The recording star's One-Hit Wonder rose to international fame as one of the most popular and recognizable songs of the disco era. The Buddah Records single reached #1 on the dance charts and number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1976. More, More, More is included on Inside Deep Throat - Original Soundtrack.

Despite the lyrics Just get the cameras rollin' and get the action goin', Andrea True never returned to the adult film industry. She continued to receive music royalties until her death in 2011 from heart failure at age 68.

    17:36

Disco singer Andrea True (1943-2011) here with the first of her three touring bands as seen September 25, 1976 (playing live, but no studio audience), including future Meat Loaf, Kiss, Michael Bolton lead guitarist Bruce Kulick, in one of his earliest if not first tv appearance. Features the songs More More More, Party Line, Fill Me Up.

Porn star turned singer Andrea True had a couple disco hits, including the often sampled More More More (i.e. Len's Steal My Sunshine), over two albums in the late 1970's. She had three different touring bands with studio musicians for the albums. A third album saw an unsuccessful change to hard rock & is a treasure for record seekers as it was only released in Italy. A review & further history of that album can be found at search for War Machine. In 2001 VH1 named More, More, More as #45 of the 100 Greatest Dance Songs.

This video was found on VHS in a garage sale by the rhythm guitarist Joey Barbosa, who was in a band with Bruce Kulick that became the Connection featured here. Aaron, whose page this is, was a co-worker of Joey who passed the video on with the request that it be shared with the world, seeing how videos of True are rare.

Here is a podcast by a guy that researched Andrea. I remember when he interviewed Joey. This will give you info into the Connection many of you may find interesting.

Andrea performs live at the German Musikladen show

More, More, More is a song written by Gregg Diamond and recorded by American disco artist Andrea True, who performed as part of her Andrea True Connection project. It was released in February 1976 and became her signature track and one of the most popular songs of the disco era. In the U.S., it reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent three weeks at number three on the Cashbox chart in July of that year. In Canada, it was a number-one hit.

The song was originally recorded in Jamaica where True, a porn star, had been appearing in a television commercial. An attempted coup prevented her from leaving the country with her wages from the commercial. Resourcefully, True called on Gregg Diamond to come down to Jamaica to write and record the song with her, along with other studio musicians which formed the backbone of the Connection project.[1]

  • Andrea True Connection ~ New York You Got Me Dancing 1977 Disco Purrfection Version

    11:06

Andrea Marie Truden went by many names like most pornographic actors, but is best known as disco singer Andrea True and her hit More, More More. Moving to New York to become a legitimate actress she did achieve some success even showing up in Barbra Streisand's The Way We Were, but that career never took off. She began a career in porn thinking it would open some doors to her for legitimate roles. In 1975 she was hired by a Jamaican real estate firm to appear in some commercials for them. While there, things got more exciting than she thought and during a crisis, the island nation did not allow anyone to leave the island with any money they earned there. So she decided to ask her friend Gregg Diamond to come down and produce some songs for her using the locals and their studio, thus spending her money in a way that might help her career and keeping it in Jamaica. Their collaboration resulted in a smash hit with More, More, More, which peaked at #5 on the Hot 100. Around this time, she had noted she was tired of porn and wanted a recording career. Her second album White Witch contained her second biggest hit, New York You Got Me Dancing that used most of the sounds that More More More had but at a pumped up speed. It peaked at #27 in the US. Another single from the LP What's Your Name, What's Your Number became a UK hit. A third LP saw her taking a hard dance rock stance with War Machine that was released in Europe only. After that LP failed, she briefly returned to porn, but had developed goiter which required surgery that destroyed her singing voice. She moved to Los Angeles then to New York, where she passed away on November 7, 2011 at the age of 68. The impact of her music is still felt today through samples on contemporary songs like Len Steal My Sunshine and covers like Bananarama More More More.

    4:34

Andrea had a colourful and well documented background, but for disco fans it was her classic More More More single that brought her to our attention. With Gregg Diamond, the whole More More More album was excellent. White Witch followed a year later, and whilst maybe not as strong an album was interesting all the same. This is a rock oriented pop song from that set. Sadly, Andrea died in 2011.

  • Andrea True Connection ~ More, More, More 1976 Disco Purrfection Version

    10:17

More, More, More was disco's calling card. At the time the burgeoning disco scene was well on its way to juggernaut status along with the 50's and 60's nostalgia craze that would crest with the movie version of Grease in 1978. I used to work as a bagboy during 1976, and I had to open Sunday mornings. We were a two car family, so I got to take the 1974 Gran Torino Squire station wagon to work. WDRQ, my favorite 70's radio station, had a sunday morning show with an inspirational religious bent helmed by DJ Paul Nicholas, who basically preached between Top 40 records. He was able to explain that More, More, More could mean making yourself closer to the Lord. Early in the disco era, there were many themes in common with religion, such as community, communion and salvation, all of which you could experience on the dance floor, the same gospel release as you threw off the yoke of your problems and shook your ass way into the night. The sly lyrics of More, More, More included an in joke in the line so get the cameras rollin', get the action going that played on Andrea's pornographic past but also tapped into the just do it disco fever that everyone seemed to have. Its been a long time coming to put out my special stamp on this one, I really loved the original and the feelings it now elicits about my youth, with all the energy and hope I could handle.

    5:46
