  • DEREK REDMOND Never Give Up

    Such An Inspiring Video!!!

Unlike Carl Lewis and Daley Thompson, Derek Redmond is not a name that conjures up memories of Olympic gold medals. But it is Redmond who defines the essence of the human spirit.

Redmond arrived at the 1992 Olympic Summer Games in Barcelona determined to win a medal in the 400. The color of the medal was meaningless; he just wanted to win one. Just one.

He had been forced to withdraw from the 400 at the 1988 Games in Seoul, only 10 minutes before the race, because of an Achilles tendon injury. He then underwent five surgeries over the next year. This was the same runner who had shattered the British 400-meter record at age 19. So when the 1992 Games arrived, this was his time, his moment, his stage, to show the world how good he was and who he was.

Derek's father Jim had accompanied him to Barcelona, just as he did for all world competitions. They were as close as a father and son could be. Inseparable, really. The best of friends. When Derek ran, it was as if his father were running right next to him.

The day of the race arrives. Father and son reminisce about what it took for Derek to get to this point. They talk about ignoring past heartbreaks, past failures. They agree that if anything bad happens, no matter what it is, Derek has to finish the race, period.

The top four finishers in each of the two semifinal heats qualify for the Olympic final. As race time approaches for the semifinal 400 heat, Jim heads up to his seat at the top of Olympic Stadium, not far from where the Olympic torch was lit just a few days earlier. He is wearing a T-shirt that reads, Have you hugged your foot today?

    Derek Redmond

With the help of his father, an injured Derek Redmond completed his race in the 1992 Olympics.

The stadium is packed with 65,000 fans, bracing themselves for one of sport's greatest and most exciting spectacles. The race begins and Redmond breaks from the pack and quickly seizes the lead. Keep it up, keep it up, Jim says to himself.

Down the backstretch, only 175 meters away from finishing, Redmond is a shoo-in to make the finals. Suddenly, he hears a pop. In his right hamstring. He pulls up lame, as if he had been shot.

Oh, no, Jim says to himself. His face pales. His leg quivering, Redmond begins hopping on one leg, then slows down and falls to the track. As he lays on the track, clutching his right hamstring, a medical personnel unit runs toward him. At the same time, Jim Redmond, seeing his son in trouble, races down from the top row of the stands, sidestepping people, bumping into others. He has no credential to be on the track, but all he thinks about is getting to his son, to help him up. I wasn't going to be stopped by anyone, he later tells the media.

On the track, Redmond realizes his dream of an Olympic medal is gone. Tears run down his face. All I could think was, 'I'm out of the Olympics -- again,' he would say.

As the medical crew arrives with a stretcher, Redmond tells them, No, there's no way I'm getting on that stretcher. I'm going to finish my race.

Then, in a moment that will live forever in the minds of millions, Redmond lifts himself to his feet, ever so slowly, and starts hobbling down the track. The other runners have finished the race, with Steve Lewis of the U.S. winning the contest in 44.50. Suddenly, everyone realizes that Redmond isn't dropping out of the race by hobbling off to the side of the track. No, he is actually continuing on one leg. He's going to attempt to hobble his way to the finish line. All by himself. All in the name of pride and heart.

Slowly, the crowd, in total disbelief, rises and begins to roar. The roar gets louder and louder.........

  • DEREK REDMOND - You raise me up

Derek Redmond's struggle in the 1992 Olympic semi-final became the subject of one of the International Olympic Committee's 'Celebrate Humanity' videos highlighting his 1992 injury, also noting that he, and his father, finished dead last, but he, and his father, finished.

God is like that. When we are hurt and struggling, heavenly Father God comes and helps us finish the race.

    May God bless you.

  • TIMELAPSE OF THE FUTURE: A Journey to the End of Time

Support my work on Patreon: | Get the soundtrack: | How's it all gonna end? This experience takes us on a journey to the end of time, trillions of years into the future, to discover what the fate of our planet and our universe may ultimately be.

We start in 2019 and travel exponentially through time, witnessing the future of Earth, the death of the sun, the end of all stars, proton decay, zombie galaxies, possible future civilizations, exploding black holes, the effects of dark energy, alternate universes, the final fate of the cosmos - to name a few.

This is a picture of the future as painted by modern science - a picture that will surely evolve over time as we dig for more clues to how our story will unfold. Much of the science is very recent - and new puzzle pieces are still waiting to be found.

To me, this overhead view of time gives a profound perspective - that we are living inside the hot flash of the Big Bang, the perfect moment to soak in the sights and sounds of a universe in its glory days, before it all fades away. Although the end will eventually come, we have a practical infinity of time to play with if we play our cards right. The future may look bleak, but we have enormous potential as a species.

Featuring the voices of David Attenborough, Craig Childs, Brian Cox, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Michelle Thaller, Lawrence Krauss, Michio Kaku, Mike Rowe, Phil Plait, Janna Levin, Stephen Hawking, Sean Carroll, Alex Filippenko, and Martin Rees.

    stalk daughter:

    stalk me:

Shadows settle on the place, that you left.
Our minds are troubled by the emptiness.
Destroy the middle, it's a waste of time.
From the perfect start to the finish line.

And if you're still breathing, you're the lucky ones.
'Cause most of us are heaving through corrupted lungs.
Setting fire to our insides for fun
Collecting names of the lovers that went wrong
    The lovers that went wrong.

    We are the reckless,
    We are the wild youth
    Chasing visions of our futures
One day we'll reveal the truth
That one will die before he gets there.
And if you're still bleeding, you're the lucky ones.
'Cause most of our feelings, they are dead and they are gone.
We're setting fire to our insides for fun.
Collecting pictures from the flood that wrecked our home,
It was a flood that wrecked this...

    And you caused it
    And you caused it
    And you caused it

Well I've lost it all, I'm just a silouhette,
A lifeless face that you'll soon forget,
My eyes ae damp from the words you left,
Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest.
Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest.

And if you're in love, then you are the lucky one,
'Cause most of us are bitter over someone.
Setting fire to our insides for fun,
To distract our hearts from ever missing them.
    But I'm forever missing him.

    And you caused it
    And you caused it
    And you caused it

    Crossing A Line | Lyrics

    They’ll tell you I don’t care anymore
    And I hope you’ll know that’s a lie
Cause I’ve found what I have been waiting for
But to get there means crossing a line

I don’t know how to warn you / for what I’m gonna say
Cause you’re holding so tight to / what I’m taking away
I got demons inside me / so I’m faced with a choice
Either try to ignore them / or I give them a voice

And it’s keeping me up at night
    Worried it’s not alright
Holding back things you don’t know
And it’s keeping me up at night
    Worried it’s not alright
You’re not gonna like where this goes

    And they’ll
Tell you I don’t care anymore
    And I hope you’ll know that’s a lie
Cause I’ve found what I have been waiting for
But to get there means crossing a line
    So I’m crossing a line

It’s not about status / we know it never was
Cause what good is the kingdom / when you’re missing the love
This is not a goodbye now / I’m not going away
No I don’t have the answers / but I do have the faith

And it’s keeping me up at night
    Worried it’s not alright
Holding back things you don’t know
And it’s keeping me up at night
    Worried it’s not alright
You’re not gonna like where this goes

    We’ll be a fine line

    We’ll be a fine line

    A test of my patience
There’s things that we’ll never know
    You sunshine, you temptress
My hand’s at risk, I fold

    Crisp trepidation

It can be difficult to fathom how long 13.8 billion years is. The more you watch this video, the more it sinks in just how stunningly old the universe is, and how magnificently tiny we humans are in the grand scheme. I hope seeing this experiment in humility makes you ponder the vast, unwitnessed ages that have passed before we came along, and the brevity of our existence in comparison.

    [Verse 1]
    I’m the most patient
Like I walk out of hospitals
    I'm the most focused
    Like I'm a 5D Canon
Cause I blast off, shoot off onto my vision
Combination of my strategy and my natural intuition

Look around town, I’m the most underrated,
Consultant, Forbes writer, and I’m Georgetown graduated
Middle Eastern, in general, جداوي in specific,
Come and cross my territory, look at how we live it

Cause بين هذه ودي أنا مواطن سعودي
    أفتخر بجميع أولاد وبنات حدودي
بكل شخص أهدى حياته يحمي حدودي
    أفتخر بأصولي من شمالي لجنوبي

I owe a lot to this country and it's leadership team
United we stand together, our nation’s a team

    [Verse 2]
Vision 2030 my country is building up
All my people making history we're never giving up
We’re full of hope and ambition, every morning we rise
Bringing change and we see it right in front of your eyes

Movie theaters are up now, women can drive
We do it at our own pace, move at our own time
And it’s time we show the world how do it up in Saudi
Where the sun shines all day, never cloudy

Never doubt me, I'm stating the truth
This country's future lies on the shoulders of youth

I’m not saying we’ve made it past the finish line
All I’m saying is we’re on our way
And on our way I know we’re going through a lot of changes
Through a lot of struggles and challenges, and it’s not easy
It’s going to get harder before it gets easier
But I know that down the road we’ll look back at this time in our lives and be proud of the work that we did
    It’s all for the best

    [Chorus] x2

  • FF07 Island of the Lizard King #1 - A Raft of Problems

Hot on the heels of my somewhat dubious victory in the Trial of Champions, I have no choice but to help an old friend save the young men of his fishing village.

As far as I am concerned, the story might as well have been all made up as all I find are headhunters, crocodiles, killer trees, weird toads and a creature that looks almost exactly like Gollum.

In a Fighting Fantasy first, I even find myself fighting with an effective skill of just 1. There will be no prizes for guessing the outcome of that battle.

  • Candle Power by Steve Vai - How to play - guitar lesson with tabs

Welcome to part 2 of my lesson for Steve Vai's Candle Power. Having done the first minute of this song I had a lot of requests to finish the song. It is a long video (it almost killed me and my laptop!!) but I really didn't want to have to do it in 3 parts, so please use the buttons below to navigate to the parts you want. The video picks up straight after the end of the last one which you can check out here:

Since completing my transcription, Steve has released his own tabs and I would definitely recommend you checking that out. I'm sure I haven't got it all correct (no need to point out the errors ;)) but maybe use his tabs with the lesson if you prefer? But there is a link below to my version so feel free to take a copy. I've also added a new feature at the end of the video where you can watch the tab play through and if needed slow it down etc. If that's useful then let me know and I may add to future lessons.

I happily do all this for fun and have no plans to try to charge for these transcriptions. It's not my music so I have no right to do that. However I do get asked by people if they can make a donation or leave a tip and if you feel the need to do that then my PayPal details are below. Please don't feel under any obligation to do so but obviously I'm grateful for anything received. Any funds I do receive I will put towards improving my video making equipment to try and provide better quality videos in the future. (and yes my first name is Philip, don't ask ;))

If you enjoy please please please click like, share, subscribe so you can keep up to date with future videos etc. and also check out some of the previous transcriptions on my channel. There is a link to both my Facebook and Instagram pages and would be great if you would also follow me on there.

    [Verse 1: Ed Sheeran]
She got the mmm, brown eyes, caramel thighs
Long hair, no wedding ring, hey
I saw you lookin' from across the way
And now I really wanna know your name
She got the mmm, white dress, but when she’s wearin' less
Man, you know that she drives me crazy
The mmm, brown eyes, beautiful smile
You know I love watching you do your thing

    [Pre-Chorus: Ed Sheeran]
I love her hips, curves, lips say the words
Te amo, mami, ah, te amo, mami
I kiss her, this love is like a dream

    [Chorus: Ed Sheeran]
So join me in this bed that I'm in
Push up on me and sweat, darling
So I’m gonna put my time in
I won't stop until the angels sing
Jump in that water, be free
Come south of the border with me
Jump in that water, be free
Come south of the border with me

    [Verse 2: Camila Cabello]
He got that mmm, green eyes, givin' me signs
That he really wants to know my name—hey
I saw you lookin' from across the way
And suddenly, I'm glad I came, ay
Ven para acá, quiero bailar, toma mi mano
Quiero sentir tu cuerpo en mí, estás temblando
Mmm, green eyes, takin' your time
Now we know we'll never be the same

    [Pre-Chorus: Camila Cabello]
I love his lips 'cause he says the words
Te amo, mami, ah, te amo, mami
Don’t wake up, this love is like a dream

[Chorus: Ed Sheeran & Camila Cabello, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello]
So join me in this bed that I’m in
Push up on me and sweat, darling

And won’t stop until the angels sing

[Bridge: Ed Sheeran & Camila Cabello]
    Flawless diamonds
In a green field near Buenos Aires
    Until the sun's rising
We won't stop until the angels sing
Jump in that water, be free
Come south of the border with me
Jump in that water, be free
Come south of the border with me

    [Verse 3: Cardi B & Camila Cabello]

You never live 'til you risk your life (Life)
You wanna shine, you gotta get more ice (Ice, ice, oh)
Am I your lover or I’m just your vice? (Woo, yeah, yeah)
A little crazy, but I'm just your type (Okurrr)
You want the lips and the curves, need the whips and the furs
And the diamonds I prefer, in my closet, his and hers, ayy

  • Milwaukee Succeeds Whiteboard

Imagine a boat with powerful rowers.

But because of outside forces, they are all rowing in different directions. Rowing using different techniques.

This used to be our approach to improving schools in Milwaukee
But in 2011, a group of leaders, spearheaded by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, came together to create Milwaukee Succeeds.

Diverse organizations helping solve a complex social problem.

Milwaukee Succeeds has a shared vision of success for every child, in every school, cradle to career.

A coordinated, structured and collaborative approach.
All young people - especially disengaged and disadvantaged students - need to feel safe and loved.

Research underscores the importance of bouncing back from adversity and persevering through challenges.

    Fostering grit and determination.
Milwaukee Succeeds has a common set of four goals. Each with shared measurements:

    1. Kindergarten Readiness
    2. School Readiness
    3. Career Readiness
    4. All children and young people are healthy, supported socially and emotionally, and contribute responsibly to the success of the Milwaukee community. This is essential to accomplish goals 1, 2 and 3.

We have already seen improved outcomes for kids.

Higher test scores and educational measures prove the strategies of Milwaukee Succeeds are effective.

These are data-driven results, which can now be scaled and successfully implemented across Milwaukee to positively impact more than 112,000 kids.
Now once again imagine our boat.

That’s a big boat. And our passengers are precious cargo.

And now we are all rowing our oars in the same direction and we’re starting to pick up some speed.

And pretty soon.. these kids will be able to row on their own.. and cross the finish line by themselves.

That’s the beauty of Milwaukee Succeeds

We are all in this together. It’s called “Collective Impact.” A new model of social change.

With everyone in the community working together with our shared vision, we know we can achieve our goals by 2020.

    Please join us!

  • Lana Del Rey - Born To Die with Lyrics

    My oh me, my
    Feet don't fail me now
Take me to the finish line
Oh my heart it breaks every step I take
But I'm hoping at the gates,
They'll tell me that you're mine

    Walking through the city streets
Is it by mistake or designed
I feel so alone on the Friday nights
Can you make it feel like home, if I tell you you're mine
It's like I told you honey

Don't make me sad, don't make me cry
Sometimes love is not enough when the road gets though
    I don't know why
    Keep making me laugh
    Let's go get high
The road is long, we carry on
So we should have fun in the meantime

Come take a walk on the wild side
Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain
    You like your girls insane
Choose your last words, this is the last time
Cause you and I, we were born to die

Lost but now I am found
I can see but once I was blind
I was so confused as a little child
Tried to take what I could get
    Scared that I couldn't find
    All the answers honey

Don't make me sad, don't make me cry
Sometimes love is not enough when the road gets though
    I don't know why
    Keep making me laugh
    Let go get high
The road is long, we carry on
So we should have fun in the meantime

Come take a walk on the wild side
Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain
    You like your girls insane
    Choose your last words,
    This is the last time
    Cause you and I
We were born to die [x4]

Come and take a walk on the wild side
Let me kiss you hard in the pouring rain
    You like your girls insane

Don't make me sad, don't make me cry
Sometimes love is not enough when the road gets though

This is now being copied by others who are not giving me credit or even a mention.
PLEASE copy it but have the decency to let people know it was my idea. Unlike the people currently doing it.
In the final part of the video I will show you a few idea I have not show publicly yet so have not been copied to this date. The canvas was finished months ago. I hope to have 4 3D line art guitars to show in the final video also. These vids should help you for now.

I can't show the canvas with the tape removed at this point as I have added new things not seen before and I would rather get them on a guitar before the copiers copy it and try passing the idea off as there own again.

PLEASE REMEMBER to give me thumbs DOWN!! on all my videos and DON'T you EVER subscribe, just pop back and have a look from time to time if you feel so inclined.

  • 27 min - Seated Stretches for Neck, Shoulder, Back and Jaw Tension Release with Laura L. Wootton

I decided to make another video since the first one was so backlit that you couldn't see my face! haha I hope you can enjoy this one and/or that one! This one ended up being a little longer and incorporates some facial massage. Sorry I haven't quite mastered teaching to a screen yet! Still working out all the kinks, but I share them anyway in the hope that some of you can use them and find some comfort/relaxation.

    Love and hugs,
This is the shorter video that isn't well lit that I reference, for anyone who'd like to try it: (business page) (personal page... I broadcast my live concerts from this page on Wednesday evenings at 9pm EST)
