  • DEREK REDMOND - You raise me up

    4:57

Derek Redmond's struggle in the 1992 Olympic semi-final became the subject of one of the International Olympic Committee's 'Celebrate Humanity' videos highlighting his 1992 injury, also noting that he, and his father, finished dead last, but he, and his father, finished.

God is like that. When we are hurt and struggling, heavenly Father God comes and helps us finish the race.

    May God bless you.

  • DEREK REDMOND Never Give Up

    4:57

    Such An Inspiring Video!!!

Unlike Carl Lewis and Daley Thompson, Derek Redmond is not a name that conjures up memories of Olympic gold medals. But it is Redmond who defines the essence of the human spirit.

Redmond arrived at the 1992 Olympic Summer Games in Barcelona determined to win a medal in the 400. The color of the medal was meaningless; he just wanted to win one. Just one.

He had been forced to withdraw from the 400 at the 1988 Games in Seoul, only 10 minutes before the race, because of an Achilles tendon injury. He then underwent five surgeries over the next year. This was the same runner who had shattered the British 400-meter record at age 19. So when the 1992 Games arrived, this was his time, his moment, his stage, to show the world how good he was and who he was.

Derek's father Jim had accompanied him to Barcelona, just as he did for all world competitions. They were as close as a father and son could be. Inseparable, really. The best of friends. When Derek ran, it was as if his father were running right next to him.
    THE MOMENT

The day of the race arrives. Father and son reminisce about what it took for Derek to get to this point. They talk about ignoring past heartbreaks, past failures. They agree that if anything bad happens, no matter what it is, Derek has to finish the race, period.

The top four finishers in each of the two semifinal heats qualify for the Olympic final. As race time approaches for the semifinal 400 heat, Jim heads up to his seat at the top of Olympic Stadium, not far from where the Olympic torch was lit just a few days earlier. He is wearing a T-shirt that reads, Have you hugged your foot today?

    Derek Redmond

With the help of his father, an injured Derek Redmond completed his race in the 1992 Olympics.

The stadium is packed with 65,000 fans, bracing themselves for one of sport's greatest and most exciting spectacles. The race begins and Redmond breaks from the pack and quickly seizes the lead. Keep it up, keep it up, Jim says to himself.

Down the backstretch, only 175 meters away from finishing, Redmond is a shoo-in to make the finals. Suddenly, he hears a pop. In his right hamstring. He pulls up lame, as if he had been shot.

Oh, no, Jim says to himself. His face pales. His leg quivering, Redmond begins hopping on one leg, then slows down and falls to the track. As he lays on the track, clutching his right hamstring, a medical personnel unit runs toward him. At the same time, Jim Redmond, seeing his son in trouble, races down from the top row of the stands, sidestepping people, bumping into others. He has no credential to be on the track, but all he thinks about is getting to his son, to help him up. I wasn't going to be stopped by anyone, he later tells the media.

On the track, Redmond realizes his dream of an Olympic medal is gone. Tears run down his face. All I could think was, 'I'm out of the Olympics -- again,' he would say.

As the medical crew arrives with a stretcher, Redmond tells them, No, there's no way I'm getting on that stretcher. I'm going to finish my race.

Then, in a moment that will live forever in the minds of millions, Redmond lifts himself to his feet, ever so slowly, and starts hobbling down the track. The other runners have finished the race, with Steve Lewis of the U.S. winning the contest in 44.50. Suddenly, everyone realizes that Redmond isn't dropping out of the race by hobbling off to the side of the track. No, he is actually continuing on one leg. He's going to attempt to hobble his way to the finish line. All by himself. All in the name of pride and heart.

Slowly, the crowd, in total disbelief, rises and begins to roar. The roar gets louder and louder.........

    [Chorus – Kirk Franklin]
Steadfast! Unmovable! Always abounding in the…
Steadfast! (I wanna talk to you) Unmovable! Always (I wanna talk to you) abounding in the…
    (Just blaze!)

    We win, yes sir!
    We win, yes sir!
    And we win, yes sir!
(I believe that) with you by my side (together) we can touch the sky
    See we win!

    [Verse 1 - Lil Baby]
We will be better than ever
Made a promise we can do it together
And I ain’t breakin my word,
I just wish that I could fly like a bird
    Get away from this earth
Had to pray a prayer felt I was cursed
Always tell myself it could’ve been worse, never goin’ back I broke through reverse
It comes from my soul, no need to rehearse
Lot of time I was in need of work, talk to God like I need this to work
Jumped the line like I needed it first but I was being selfish
Know this gon’ affect a lot of people, I was being careless
Took a break and stepped away
I’m coming back when I get ready
I know this break people into pieces but I ain’t ‘gon let it

[Chorus – Kirk Franklin & Lil Baby]
Steadfast!  (Yo Blaze you crazy for this one)  Unmovable!  Always (Ay) abounding in the…
Steadfast!  (All the champions out there, it feels so good)  Unmovable!  (Ay) Always abounding (I said it feels so good) in the…

We win (we will 5x), yes sir! (we will 5x)
We win (we will 5x), yes sir! (we will 4x) (we gon’ make it!)
And we win (what didn’t break me made me better), yes sir!
(I believe that) with you by my side (together) we can touch the sky
    See we win! (Let’s go!)

    [Verse 2 - Lil Baby]
    Striving for greatness
At the same time keepin’ my patience
Can’t be racing to no early grave, I’m cool with just pacing
I could drop at any given time,
    I’m holdin’ my aces
I’ve seen disappointment all in they faces
The turtle still cross the finish line
We done raised the bar so many times it’s only right they give me mine
Diamond by myself, together we really shine
Long as I keep putting my faith and trust in God I know that everything will be fine
Built for it, real stand-up guy they ain’t never breakin’ my kind
I believe I can do anything
I ain’t never changing my mind (Preach!)
Life’s all about patience, take it one day at a time
Life’s all about patience, take it one day at a time (yeah!)

    [Bridge]
Whatever you may be goin’ through (we win!)
We’ll make it together, me and you (and to be clear) (we win!) (Woo!)
And when the clouds they won’t fade away (everybody say!)
Don’t you give up, you’re one step closer it’s not the end (we gon’ make it!)

[Chorus – Kirk Franklin & Lil Baby]
We win (we will 5x), yes sir! (we will 5x) (I believe that…)
We win (we will 5x) (I know that), yes sir! (we will 2x, I ain’t gon’ never let em play me)

    Lyrics for Youth by Daughter

Shadows settle on the place, that you left
Our minds are troubled by the emptiness
Destroy the middle, it's a waste of time
From the perfect start to the finish line

And if you're still breathing, you're the lucky ones
'Cause most of us are heaving through corrupted lungs
Setting fire to our insides for fun
Collecting names of the lovers that went wrong
    The lovers that went wrong

    We are the reckless,
    We are the wild youth
    Chasing visions of our futures
One day we'll reveal the truth
That one will die before he gets there

And if you're still bleeding, you're the lucky ones
'Cause most of our feelings, they are dead and they are gone
We're setting fire to our insides for fun
Collecting pictures from a flood that wrecked our home,
It was a flood that wrecked this home

    And you caused it,
    And you caused it,
    And you caused it

Well I've lost it all, I'm just a silhouette,
I'm a lifeless face that you'll soon forget,
My eyes are damp from the words you left,
Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest.
Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest.

And if you're in love, then you are the lucky one,
'Cause most of us are bitter over someone.
Setting fire to our insides for fun,
To distract our hearts from ever missing them.
    But I'm forever missing him.

    And you caused it,
    And you caused it,
    And you caused it

Do a lil’ spin, do it again – sshhiiiii
look like you playin’ for the win, OH BABY

I’m trynna roll, I’m trynna ride

    Oh, skate to me baby
    Skate
    Slide your way on over
    Slide your way on over
    Skate to me baby

Oh, superstar is what you are
    I’m your biggest fan
if you’re lookin’ for a man, suga, here I am

I’m trynna roll, I’m trynna ride
I’m trynna float, I’m trynna glide
No no, don’t be shy, just take my hand and hold on tight!

    Oh, skate to me baby

    LYRICS:
    It gets so hard
Just trying to figure it out, fighting doubt
    Tryna believe God
Tryna watch the words of my mouth, stay on the route

    Troubles come and go
Even on the mountain high or the valley low
    Never let your faith go
    Never let your faith go

    I’ve been there before
So confused, don’t know which way to go
    Stressed out
World so crazy might as well as stay in the house

    Fear tryna rise up
Got terrorist disguised, they look like us
But we know who we trust
    Trust when I say that

We gon’ be alright, we gon’ be alright
    We gon’ be alright, alright
We gon’ be alright, we gon’ be alright
    We gon’ be alright, alright

    In these last days
Evil times will come and it’s here today
    Look at all the hate
    Senseless crime and murder everyday
    Human trafficking, racism, policy brutality
Bullying, rape, child molesta—shun the appearance of evil I pray

Let Your Kingdom come, let Your will be done
    In the Earth
Let Your glory rise, let Your Son shine
    Let it burst

    Through the dark clouds
Even through the storm and the rain
    We will shout
Cause we know after the night

We gon’ be alright, we gon’ be alright
    We gon’ be alright
I ain’t worried ‘bout it (Oh no)
Don’t you worry ‘bout it (Oh no)
I believe, I receive, in Your Word that You promised that

We gon’ be alright, we gon’ be alright
    We gon’ be alright
Don’t worry ‘bout it (Oh no)
Don’t lose no sleep over it (Oh no)
Just believe and receive in Your Word that You promised that

We gon’ be alright, we gon’ be alright
    We gon’ be alright
I ain’t worried ‘bout it (Oh no)
I won’t lose sleep over it (Oh no)
You got everything under control, that’s how I know that

We gon’ be alright, we gon’ be alright
    We gon’ be alright
The battle isn’t yours, this belongs to the Lord
Stand still, don’t fight, we know that
    We gon’ be alright

    Lyrics

    [Harry:]
You gotta help me, I'm losing my mind
Keep getting the feeling you wanna leave this all behind
    Thought we were going strong
I thought we were holding on
    Aren't we?

    [Niall:]
No, they don't teach you this in school
Now my heart's breaking and I don't know what to do
    Thought we were going strong
    Thought we were holding on
    Aren't we?

    [All:]
You and me got a whole lot of history (oh)
We could be the greatest team that the world has ever seen
You and me got a whole lot of history (oh)
So don't let it go, we can make some more, we can live forever

    [Liam:]
All of the rumors, all of the fights
But we always find a way to make it out alive
    Thought we were going strong
    Thought we were holding on
    Aren't we?

    [All:]
You and me got a whole lot of history (oh)
We could be the greatest team that the world has ever seen
You and me got a whole lot of history (oh)
So don't let it go, we can make some more, we can live forever

    [Louis:]
Mini bars, expensive cars, hotel rooms, and new tattoos
And the good champagne, and private planes, but they don't mean anything
'Cause the truth is out, I realize that without you here life is just a lie
    This is not the end
    This is not the end
We can make it, you know it, you know

    [All:]
You and me got a whole lot of history (oh)
We could be the greatest team that the world has ever seen
You and me got a whole lot of history (oh)
So don't let it go, we can make some more, we can live forever

    [All:]
You and me got a whole lot of history (oh)
We could be the greatest team that the world has ever seen
You and me got a whole lot of history (oh)
So don't let it go, we can make some more, we can live forever

    [Harry:]
    So don't let me go
    So don't let me go

    [All:]
    We can live forever

    [Liam:]
    Baby don't you know
    Baby don't you know

    [All:]
    We can live forever

    CREDITS:
    Director: Brad Strickman
    Producer: Shane Strickman
    Production Company: Black Balloon
    Original Cover Art: Heather Mahler

    OFFICIAL LYRICS:
I don't really give a damn about the way you touch me
    When we're alone
    You can hold my hand
    If no one's home
Do you like it when I'm away?
If I went and hurt my body, baby
Would you love me the same?
I can feel all my bones coming back
    And I'm craving motion
Mama never really learned how to live by herself
    It's a curse
    And it's growing
    You're a pond and I'm an ocean
    Oh, all my emotions
Feel like explosions when you are around
And I've found a way to kill the sound, oh

Oh, baby, I am a wreck when I'm without you
I need you here to stay
I broke all my bones that day I found you
    Crying at the lake
Was it something I said to make you feel like you're a burden?
Oh, and if I could take it all back
I swear that I would pull you from the tide

    Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
I said no, I said no
    Listen close, it's a no
The wind is a-pounding on my back
And I found hope in a heart attack
Oh at last, it is past
Now I've got it, and you can't have it

Baby, I am a wreck when I'm without you
I need you here to stay
I broke all my bones that day I found you
    Crying at the lake
Was it something I said to make you feel like you're a burden?
Oh, and if I could take it all back
I swear that I would pull you from the tide

    Darling, when I'm fast asleep
I've seen this person watching me
Saying, Is it worth it? Is it worth it? Tell me, is it worth it?
    Oh-oh
Because there is something, and there is nothing
    There is nothing in between
And in my eyes, there is a tiny dancer
    Watching over me, he's singing
    She's a, she's a lady, and I am just a boy
    He's singing, She's a, she's a lady, and I am just a line without a—

Oh baby, I am a wreck when I'm without you
I need you here to stay
Broke all my bones that day I found you
    Crying at the lake
Oh, was it something I said to make you feel like you're a burden?
Oh, and if I could take it all back
I swear that I would pull you from the tide

    Lyrics:
    We are the Nowhere Generation
We are the kids that no one wants
    We are a credible threat
    To the rules you set
    A cause to be alarmed

We are not the names that we’ve been given
We speak a language you don’t know
    We are the Nowhere Generation
    The Nowhere Generation

    One day
All the walls will come down
    All the doors will open
All the roads will lead home
    But right now
    We are spiraling down
    And the longer we wait
    The further we go

Are we slipping through the cracks now
No place left on your map now to call home?

    We are the Nowhere Generation
The kids that no one wants
    We are a credible threat
    To the rules you set
    A cause to be alarmed
We are not the names that we’ve been given
We speak a language you don’t know
    We are the Nowhere Generation
    The Nowhere Generation

“For your sweat, you’ll be rewarded”
    They told us every day
“There’s a land of milk & honey and
    it’s not that far away”
But the finish line kept moving
    And the promises wore thin
    The smoke on the horizon
    Was the burning promised land

This place used to be somewhere but they
Sold it out from under us
    Our voices all ignored

    We are the Nowhere Generation
The kids that no one wants
    We are a credible threat
    To the rules you set
    A cause to be alarmed
We are not the names that we’ve been given
We speak a language you don’t know
    We are the Nowhere Generation
    The Nowhere Generation
And yet we climb these burning ladders
Still, we raise for them the hammers
    Swinging low
    “What exactly are we after?”
    They will ask
    And we will answer

    We are the Nowhere Generation
The kids that no one wants
    We are a credible threat
    To the rules you set
    A cause to be alarmed

We are not the names that we’ve been given
We speak a language you don’t know
    We are the Nowhere Generation

    I’m at a party I don’t wanna be at
And I don’t ever wear a suit and tie
Wondering if I can sneak out of the back
Nobodies is even looking at me in my eyes
And then you take my hand, finish my drink, say shall we dance (hell yeah)
y’know i love you did I ever tell you, you make it better like that

Don’t think I fit in at this party
Everyone’s got so much to say
I always feel like I’m nobody
Who wants to fit in anyway

Coz I don’t care when I’m with my baby yeah
    All the bad things disappear
And you making me feel that maybe I am somebody
I can deal with the bad nights when I’m with my baby yeah (ooh, ooh, ooh)
    Coz I don’t care
As long as you just hold me near
You can take me anywhere and you making me feel like I’m loved by somebody
I can deal with the bad nights when I’m with my baby yeah

We at a party we don’t wanna be at
Trying to talk but we can’t hear ourselves
Read your lips I’d rather kiss ‘em right back
With all these people all around, I’m crippled with anxiety
But I’m told its where I’m supposed to be
You know what? It’s kind of crazy coz I really don’t mind
When you make it better like that

Don’t think I fit in at this party
Everyone’s got so much to say
When we walked in I said I’m sorry
But now I think that we should stay

Coz I don’t care when I’m with my baby yeah
    All the bad things disappear
And you making me feel that maybe I am somebody
I can deal with the bad nights when I’m with my baby yeah (ooh, ooh, ooh, oh yeah yeah yeah)
Coz I don’t care, as long as you just hold me near
You can take me anywhere and you making me feel like I’m loved by somebody
I can deal with the bad nights when I’m with my baby yeah (oh oh oh oh, no)

I don’t like ‘bout nobody but you
It’s like you’re the only one here
I don’t like ‘bout nobody but you baby I don’t care

I don’t like ‘bout nobody but you
    I hate everyone here
I don’t like ‘bout nobody but you baby yeah

Coz I don’t care (don’t care) when I’m with my baby yeah (oh yeah)
All the bad things disappear (disappear)
And you making me feel that maybe I am somebody (maybe I’m somebody)
I can deal with the bad nights (with the bad nights) when I’m with my baby yeah (ooh, ooh, ooh, oh yeah yeah yeah)
Coz I don’t care, as long as you just hold me near (me near)
You can take me anywhere (anywhere, anywhere) and you making me feel like I’m loved by somebody (loved by somebody yeah)
I can deal with the bad nights when I’m with my baby yeah (oh oh oh oh, no)

    lyrics:

Shadows settle on the place, that you left.
Our minds are troubled by the emptiness.
Destroy the middle, it's a waste of time.
From the perfect start to the finish line.

And if you're still breathing, you're the lucky ones.
'Cause most of us are heaving through corrupted lungs.
Setting fire to our insides for fun
Collecting names of the lovers that went wrong
    The lovers that went wrong.

    We are the reckless,
    We are the wild youth
    Chasing visions of our futures
One day we'll reveal the truth
That one will die before he gets there.
And if you're still bleeding, you're the lucky ones.
'Cause most of our feelings, they are dead and they are gone.
We're setting fire to our insides for fun.
Collecting pictures from the flood that wrecked our home,
It was a flood that wrecked this...

    And you caused it
    And you caused it
    And you caused it

Well I've lost it all, I'm just a silouhette,
A lifeless face that you'll soon forget,
My eyes ae damp from the words you left,
Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest.
Ringing in my head, when you broke my chest.

And if you're in love, then you are the lucky one,
'Cause most of us are bitter over someone.
Setting fire to our insides for fun,
To distract our hearts from ever missing them.
    But I'm forever missing him.

    And you caused it
    And you caused it
    And you caused it

    LYRICS:

Dear God thank you for leading me down this path
I’m thankful for the man that I am
    At first
I didn’t understand now I see the tribulations that it faced we’re all part of the plan
I tired to walk way I wasn’t whole
You filled the gap inside heart and let me know I had a soul
I was bleeding on the inside nobody could see
Then I looked into the mirror he was staring back at me
    Now I gotta say
    I was lost
    Where’d I go
    Now I’m here
    Glory road
    Child a god
    Not a sheep
    Lost my way
    Came on home
Used to think the world was cold and I was fighting all alone until I made that call and heard his voice and touch right through that phone
    All my pain
all my stress added to the dumb neglect
I used to take my burdens and disperse them round to all my friends
Anger and frustration was means but never to and end until you picked me up and took that weight right up off my chest
    A child a god
    Nothing more, nothing less
    Born sinner, not by choice
    But also born blessed
I could fell the pressure building up and choking at my neck then God told me take a breath
and he would hand all the rest
I’m not a stranger to evil
    I’ve done wrong to people
I’ve told lies but in his eyes I am still equal
My words weaponize, bars save lives they lethal and take off in the sky spread wings like eagles
My life’s an open book something for the world to see
people watching what I do so I’m careful of words I speak
came up as a child I never thought that this was what I’d be but now that it’s my path I swear to God that I won’t fail to lead
Speaking positivity with every single breath I breathe
looking up to God I’m on my hands and down on my knees
asking him to grant me with the strength in this world agreed to be the person that will have a Shoulder when they need to lean
Promises I made to you God yes I will keep
may not be who they want but I’m making what they need
Rose from the dirt in middle of the concrete and bloomed to a tree to create and disperse seeds
    Impact is what I bleed.
    Won’t fall for anything
    I answer to God
I don’t answer to no human being
I am not slave, I am not the devil nor a fiend I’m a child a God just like you we on the same team
    Grab my hand
    Stand up
I won’t leave you, you need me just as much as I need you
Fight these battles with me and I promise that you will see through and stand tall over things beneath you
Child of God he is I, and you are him
to see God we must first look within
No where else, no place, no human, no race, just us, and faith, till we meet again
    It’s Dax

We were all created in Gods image
Each and every single one of us
    Spread love
    Receive love
    And Have faith
    Amen

If you made it this far thank you for the continued support and help on this journey. I'm excited to share this 1st album with you. I love you all. Let's make an impact.

  • Sky Race - for Wind Ensemble

    4:50

A tone-poem for large Wind Ensemble.

    Program Notes:
Our story begins in the far distant future, in a city that miraculously floats in the sky, filled with technology beyond our wildest imaginings. Every year, this city holds a week-long festival of merriment and gaiety that concludes with the highly anticipated city-wide race. Racers from all over the city spend months constructing elaborate racing machines and honing their skills, all for the chance to be crowned this year’s winner. And this year, there is a newcomer to the racetrack, a scrappy youngster who has poured every bit of their soul into a modest and carefully constructed racer. With elbow grease, duct tape, and a prayer, they’re determined to win!

The piece begins on the day of the race. All the streets are temporarily closed except to those heading to the starting line, and the sidewalks are jam-packed with cheering people who are anxious to see their favorite racer cross the finish line. Woodwinds rip across multiple scales while brass and percussion honk out many different timbres, representative of the joyful din that is race day. The racers take their mark and our protagonist takes their final checks before the starting beacon. Finally, with a unison rhythm played across nearly the entire ensemble, the starting bell is heard, and the racers are off!

The racetrack starts as a simple straightway, represented by the soprano sax and E-flat clarinets solos. But before long, our protagonist dashes by a group of their fellow supporters, represented by the flutes and sleigh bells, who are relentless in their support for the youngster.

Then, the track starts to get very treacherous as the road narrows and becomes very winding, represented by the uneven time signatures and complex scales in the full band. Amid the action, our protagonist has an idea. Carefully timing the turn into the next straightway, the racer activates a very special tool they have been saving: TURBO BOOST! The racer whooshes into the front of the pack and makes some great distance from the other racers.

They have a brief moment of repose in the straightway as they look out at a beautiful view of the city, represented first by the English Horn and muted trumpets followed by the full ensemble.

Finally, they see the finish line. Now is the time to focus. Now is the time to win! They notice behind them that some of the other racers have nearly caught up to him. The crowd is getting louder as the finish line gets closer. And just when things are so close that everyone’s breath stands still, our protagonist dashes across the finish line with the slightest edge on those behind them, winning the race! The piece ends with their vehicle screeching to a halt, represented in the piccolo and percussion, and as gently as a suddenly breaking racer can be, bumps into a padded wall to come to a full stop. The vehicle is definitely on the verge of collapse and disrepair, but our protagonist has never felt better!

    Lyrics -

    [Chorus]
Rollin' breezy on a summer day, sometimes you gotta take a break from work and play
So don't obey, 'cause either way life will be crazy so make sure you take the time to truly stop and smell the daisy

    [Verse 1]
It's easy to get caught up in life nowadays, ain't it? Most of the sheep just saw the word virus and almost fainted
They were mistaken to be painstakingly worried, so was I but I was fakin' cause I got too many people's live's at stake
And I am a waker, faker breaker, icin' on the cake for this hit-maker, a giver not a taker
Never called a faker because I'm keepin' it straight and I stop to smell the roses
Give me nature and I will shake her tree unlike you worryin' about your poses

    [Chorus]
Rollin' breezy on a summer day, sometimes you gotta take a break from work and play
So don't obey, 'cause either way life will be crazy so make sure you take the time to truly stop and smell the daisy

    [Verse 2]
No more to be defined by status quo, got greater things in mind and what a perfect time to shine, c'mon let's go
Nothin' waitin' down for you below, the negativity that's promoted by the rest is not our kinda dog and pony show
Yeah I repeat a phrase or two to you but it's cause I know how distracted the world can make you with all the things they do that we navigate through
And if I lost you they must've got ya, caught you sleepin' soon they'll bot ya
Stick the chip in while you're knocked out on the cot, yet I'm just here and

    [Chorus]
Rollin' breezy on a summer day, sometimes you gotta take a break from work and play
So don't obey, 'cause either way life will be crazy so make sure you take the time to truly stop and smell the daisy

    [Verse 3]
I'm makin' the best of this life as I ascend through layer by layer and in this game of life I'll be a player
Now it's time to take what's ours, not talkin' cake, I'm talkin' life and now the hours upon us and the future is what you will make
And the truth will take an effort to break, not lookin' for statues or medals just people willin' to smash the pedals
To the finish line, take the checkered flag and tie it up so we can drag it through the street victoriously as the rest run to retreat

    [Chorus]
Rollin' breezy on a summer day, sometimes you gotta take a break from work and play
So don't obey, 'cause either way life will be crazy so make sure you take the time to truly stop and smell the daisy

  • Savvy Tonarino Kickstarter $25

Getting Savvy Tonarino over the finish line!

So this is my fourth album In the trilogy.

    The first was Guitaring.

    The second was Guitaresque.

    The third was Guitararino.

The Fourth: Savvy Tone-Arino has been recorded and mixed. It is 12 instrumental songs based around my guitar playing which is a little all over the place stylistically.

It was a hard album to make mentally and emotionally. My mom died, my father was diagnosed with cancer and my engagement fell apart. Nothing unique to the great journey we call life. It was just a lot of life and death for me in in a two year period..

I‘m hoping these experiences came through the music and people can relate to it.

I have never crowd funded a project before so this is a first! Most of the time I barter my services as a guitar player, a guitar teacher or allow others you use my extensive collection of amps, pedals and guitars In return for costs associated with recording.

Some of the folks donate their time and service because they believe in me and just like being a part of my weird little scene I’ve created.

I thought that creating this Kickstarter would be a great way to also help include the community around the Savtones. There are rewards that will fit into everybodys budget. Everything from digital downloads to me watching all the Star Wars movies at your house to getting a signed 16x20 photo that I took of my guitars to having Savtones record your next song as your backing band. It’s great way to connect with all of you while getting Savvy Tonarino done.

    This Kickstarter will serve twofold:

    Mastering

Mastering is the final step in making the record consumable. It’s like bringing your painting to a great framer or having your prized muscle car detailed by a true journeyman. Mastering puts a brilliant shine on your mixes, sequences your recording in perfect order and ensures all the levels match to maximize your listening experience.

I want to get this album mastered by one of the best mastering engineers in the world. So much care and time went into the composing, arranging, recording and mixing that I want to spare no expense on putting the finishing touchs.

    Manufacturing

May folks still like to hold something in there hand. Especially if they help fund it. It also allows me to sign something! Some radio stations and reviewers still like to receive a hard copy. I also like having something I can sell at shows!!

Some of the songs are covers. This means I have to buy licenses. This gives me permission to put them on my cd and sell them.

I’m hoping to make one thousand cds!

    The Budget:

    Mastering: $3000

Cd Duplication manufacturing 1000 cds 6 panel digipak: $1500

    Shipping: $1000 (prizes, zines, etc)

    PR: $2500
