    Lyrics:

he put him out like the burnin' end of a midnight cigarette
She broke his heart he spent his whole life tryin' to forget
We watched him drink his pain away a little at a time
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind
    Until the night

He put that bottle to his head and pulled thetrigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said I'll love her till I die
And when we buried himbeneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby

Alison Krauss - There Is A Reason

    3:43

Note to commenters I have blocked: This is my channel, and I am a Christian. Anti-Christ comments will not be tolerated, nor will there be lengthy arguments. You have your own channel, so use it for that stuff. Negativity is not welcome here; there is already too much of it in the world, and I will not facilitate its' growth.
Early in 2005, Akus performed this beautiful Christian song written by guitarist Ron Block. As of 2012, at the age of 40, Alison has won 27 Grammys, so she has not only won more than any other woman, but only needs 5 more to be the owner of more Grammys than any other person, period. Vince Gill & Alison Krauss ~ Whenever You Come Around

    4:25

The face of an angel; pretty eyes that shine
I lie awake at night wishing you were mine
I'm standing here holding the biggest heartache in town
    Whenever you come around

    [Chorus]
I get weak in the knees; and I lose my breath
Oh I try to speak but the words won't come
    I'm so scared to death
And when you smile the world turns upside down
    Whenever you come around

I feel so helpless; I feel just like a kid
What is it about you that makes me keep my feelings hid
I wish I could tell you, bu the words can't be found
    Whenever you come around

    [Chorus]

And when you smile that smile
The whole world turns upside down
    Whenever you come around
    Whenever you come around

    Original artist: The Foundations

    Lyrics:

    Baby,
    now that I've found you
    I won't let you go
I built my world around you
    I need you so,
    baby even though
    You don't need me
    now

    Baby,
    now that I've found you
    I won't let you go
I built my world around you
    I need you so
    Baby even though
    You don't need me,
You don't need me oh, no

    Baby, baby,
    when first we met
I knew in this heart of mine

That you were someone I couldn't forget.
    I said right,
    and abide my time

    Spent my life looking
    for that somebody
to make me feel like new
Now you tell me that you want to leave me
But darling, I just can't let you

    [guitar & fiddle solo]

    Baby, baby,
    when first we met
I knew in this heart of mine
That you were someone I couldn't forget.
    I said right,
    and abide my time

    Spent my life looking
    for that somebody
to make me feel like new
Now you tell me that you want to leave me
But darling, I just can't let you

    Now that I found you
I built my world around you

I need you so, baby even though
    You don't need me now

Baby, now that I've found you
    I won't let you go
I built my world around you

A Living Prayer - Alison Krauss HD

    3:47

A living prayer by Alison Krauss. Being a living prayer, an example for Christ.

    Song Lyrics:

In this world I walk alone
With no place to call my home,
But there's one who holds my hand
Through rugged roads, through barren lands.
The way is dark, the road is steep,
But He's become my eyes to see,
The strength to climb, my griefs to bear.
The Savior lives inside me there.

    Chorus:
In Your love I find relief,
    A haven from my unbelief.
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.

In these trials of life I find
    Another voice inside my mind.
He comforts me and bids me live
Inside the love the Father gives.

In Your love I find relief,
    A haven from my unbelief.
Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.

Take my life and let me be
A living prayer, my God, to Thee.

Alison Krauss - Ghost In This House

    5:00

I love Alison's introduction, as it verbalizes what I have known all my life: songs producing melancholy can and should be enjoyed without stigma. I have sat with tears in my eyes listening to this song and many others, especially the saddest song of all (Vern Gosdin's Chiseled In Stone) and rather than being depressed when it was over, I felt recommitted to embrace and cater to the ones I love while there is still opportunity - which is the final message of Vern's song.

Keith Whitley/Allison Krauss-When You Say Nothing At All

    4:53

**CLICK ON MORE INFO FOR LINK FOR MP3 DOWNLOAD!!!**
If you use profanity in your comments, your comment will be removed. Don't show your stupidity by using it.

In light of a recent comment left by a viewer on May 3, 2009, viewers should be aware that there is a lot of erroneous information about Keith's bio, most notably the bio on CMT.com, which is chock full of glaring errors. Keith's given name at birth was JACKIE Keith Whitley, not Jesse Keith Whitley. Jesse Keith Whitley is the biological son of Jackie Keith Whitley and Loretta Lynn Lorrie Morgan, born in 1987. Jackie Keith Whitley was born in Kings Daughters Hospital in Ashland, KY on July 1, 1954, the son of the late Elmer Jackson Whitley and Nannie Faye Ferguson Whitley. Back when Keith was lead singer for J. D. Crowe and the New South in the late 1970's and early 1980's, he found he had lost his birth certificate, and he needed one for his passport. So when he received his new one from Frankfort, it came back with the wrong birth date, July 1, 1955. All this information was given to me by his mother during a phone conversation I had with her in 1991. I'm sure Lorrie knew his real birthdate, but why she insisted on putting the wrong one on his tombstone no one seems to know. If you need more proof, I have a digital copy of his original birth announcement provided to me by the Whitley family with his birth date, place of birth, and birth weight. If you need a copy of this, send me a message.

This Paul Overstreet/Don Schlitz-penned gem was Keith's 2nd straight #1 song and the second single from his 1988 album Don't Close Your Eyes. Keith's original stayed at #1 in the US for 2 weeks at the end of 1988. Allison Krauss covered the song in 1995. While Krauss' version was on the charts, Mike Cromwell, then the production director at WMIL-FM in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, concocted a duet merging elements of Krauss' version with Whitley's original hit version. The duet garnered national attention, and it spread from at least Philadelphia to Albuquerque. It was never officially serviced to radio and has never been available commercially. Krauss' recording won the 1995 CMA award for Single of the Year. Then in 2004 Keith's version was #12 on the list of CMT's 100 Greatest Love Songs of All Time.

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us

    3:23

The musical collaboration of the decade, Raising Sand is the sound of two iconic figures stepping out of their respective comfort zones and letting their instincts lead them across a brave new sonic landscape. Despite hailing from distinctly different backgrounds, Alison Krauss and Robert Plant share a maverick spirit and willingness to extend the boundaries of their respective genres. This spirit, expertly honed by producer T Bone Burnett, has resulted in an album pitched three steps beyond some cosmic collision of early urban blues, spacious West Texas country, and the untapped potential of the folk-rock revolution.

Supported by the unparalleled musicianship of Marc Ribot, Dennis Crouch, Mike Seeger, Jay Bellerose, Norman Blake, Greg Leisz, Patrick Warren, and Riley Baugus, Plant and Krauss -- as both solo and harmony vocalists -- tackle an intriguing selection of songs from such tunesmiths as Tom Waits, Gene Clark, Sam Phillips, Townes Van Zandt, The Everly Brothers, and Mel Tillis. Raising Sand finds Robert Plant and Alison Krauss exploring popular music's elemental roots while still sounding effortlessly, breathtakingly contemporary.

Raising Sand was the 2009 Grammy Award winner for Album of the Year, Best Contemporary Folk/Americana Album, Record of the Year (for Raising Sand's Please Read the Letter, a tune originally recorded for Page-Plant's Walking Into Clarksdale), Best Country Collaboration With Vocals (Killing the Blues) and Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals (Rich Woman).

Jewels - Alison Krauss and the Cox Family

    2:57

From the I Know Who Holds Tomorrow CD. . . My father counts his riches in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I believe that God's does so as well. His real jewels will be those who have been redeemed by His Son, Jesus. The streets of gold and heavenly jewels we read of in the Bible are likely there for the benefit of God's children and not our God, who prizes most our love for Him. We are here to give God glory, to be the jewels in His crown. Come all who have been orphaned by sin. God sent his Son Jesus to ransom us, so that we might become the adopted children of the Heavenly Father.
