Grammy Award Winning legendary music icon and master of progressive rock, Alan Parsons will return with a new album, “The Secret” via Frontiers Music Srl.

Alan’s longtime hobby has been performing magic and this brand new album showcases his own passion for the craft, hence the title “The Secret.” The album sees a return to the pop rock sound with symphonic and progressive rock interludes which the Alan Parsons Project was known for.

  • The Alan Parsons Project - Sirius / Eye in the Sky

    7:00

  • Alan Parsons Project - Old and Wise - Lyrics on screen

Alan Parsons Project - Old and Wise Lyrics on screen and description

    From Wikipedia:
Old and Wise is a 1982 song by the Alan Parsons Project from the album Eye in the Sky.
The song reached #21 on the Billboard AC charts in the US in early 1983 and #74 in the United Kingdom-- the first of the band's singles to chart in that country.

The lead vocal on Old and Wise was performed by former Zombies vocalist Colin Blunstone. Blunstone made several appearances on Alan Parsons Project albums, but Old and Wise was the only single with Blunstone as lead singer to gain airplay. Blunstone later re-recorded the song for his own two-disc Best Of album, titled Old and Wise, released in 2003.

A review of the song by Lonnie E. Holder in The Review's the Thing states:
the elements are chilling and nostalgic. But as the song closes out suddenly the vocals command and the saxophone close out will make you long to play this song over again, and wish the song were much longer. I agree! If you haven't heard this song before, please listen until the end so you don't miss this terrific saxophone close out performed by Mel Collins which begins at 3:33).

Alan Parsons Project - Old and Wise Lyrics:

As far as my eyes can see
    There are shadows approaching me
And to those I left behind
    I wanted you to know
You've always shared my deepest thoughts
    You follow where I go

    [CHORUS]
And, oh, when I'm old and wise
Bitter words mean little to me
Autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time
When they asked me if I knew you
I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine
And the sadness would be lifted from my eyes
Oh, when I'm old and wise

As far as my eyes can see
    There are shadows surrounding me
And to those I leave behind
I want you all to know
You've always shared my darkest hours
I'll miss you when I go

    [CHORUS]
And, oh, when I'm old and wise
Heavy words that tossed and blew me
Like autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the mist of time
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine
As the final curtain falls before my eyes
Oh, when I'm old and wise

As far as my eyes can see

    (bairnson)

We say welcome to the mission
Show us all what you can do
We need a man with vision
So we put our trust in you
    And now we hope sincerely
That you'll do the best that you can do

Oh for sure it won't be easy
And we will have to risk our lives
Some will try to break us
And cut us down to size
    But jsut remember
There can be no consolation prize
    Not in our eyes

It's a long way to go
We can't wait one more day
We need someone to light up the way
We may run out of time
Can you hear what we say?
Because heaven is so far away

    Although time is getting short
There's still some sand left in the glass
And now we have a living breathing
    Rocket man at last
It's time to take a step
And nail our colours to the mast

No more talk of great adventures
When it's movement that we need
    It must be our intention
That we never loose the lead
So count us down to zero
And let's get up to speed
    We're up and away

It's a long way to go
We can't wait one more day
We need someone to light up the way
We may run out of time
    So believe what we say?
Because heaven is so far away

And so now they cry for justice
As if justice will be done
But the eye up in the sky
Was flying to close to the sun
    The challenger has fallen
And the race has now been run....

THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “LIVE IN COLOMBIA” - AVAILABLE AS DVD, BLU-RAY, 2-CD DIGIPAK, 3 VINYL GATEFOLD AND DIGITAL

On the evening of August 31st, 2013, a large crowd gathered at Parque Pies Descalzos in Medellín, Colombia. When Alan Parsons appeared on stage, along with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and his band the audience went wild. This is an audio visual document of that incredible evening.

THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “Live in Colombia” is available now on earMUSIC as DVD, Blu-ray, 2-CD digipak, 3 x Vinyl, and download.

Alan Parsons was 19 years old when he landed a job at the world famous Abbey Road Studios, an important first step on his journey to becoming a world class engineer, producer and artist. Following his beginnings with George Martin and The Beatles, his contribution to Pink Floyd’s classic ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ earned him worldwide attention. As a producer he had many hits with Pilot, John Miles, Ambrosia and Al Stewart. Together with his manager and creative partner at the time, Eric Woolfson, he developed the Alan Parsons Project.

Following their debut album “Tales Of Mystery And Imagination“ (1976), they released a series of hit albums; namely “I Robot” (1977), “Pyramid” (1978), “The Turn of a Friendly Card” (1980), “Eye in the Sky” (1982), “Ammonia Avenue” (1984), “Vulture Culture” (1985), “Stereotomy” (1986) and “Gaudi” (1987).

Then Parsons and Woolfson called it a day, but Parsons had ambitions to perform the amazing music live. Now to the great delight of his fans, for the first time on a live video and audio recording, THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT combines the talents of his amazing band with the lush sound of a 70-piece symphony orchestra, creating a very special show with unmatched quality. Together, they revitalize hits such as “Eye In The Sky“, “Don’t Answer Me“ and “Sirius“.

The lineup consists of Alan Parsons on acoustic guitar, keys, and vocals, P.J. Olsson (lead vocals), Alastair Greene (guitar, vocals), Guy Erez (bass, vocals), Danny Thompson (drums, vocals), Tom Brooks (keyboards, vocals) und Todd Cooper (saxophone, guitar, percussion, vocals). EYE IN THE SKY

    Sirius

This album contains the well-known instrumental piece Sirius, which has become a staple of many big-time college and professional sporting arenas throughout North America. It is perhaps best known for its use by the Chicago Bulls to introduce its starting lineup (including Michael Jordan) during its championship years of the 1990s and continued to the present. It was even the opening song of the documentary Michael Jordan to the Max. It is also used as the soundtrack for the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team tunnel walk before every home game. The song was also used by the New Orleans Saints as their entrance music for Super Bowl XLIV.
During the mid-1980s, it was also used as the ring entrance theme for Ricky The Dragon Steamboat by WWE, at that time known as the WWF. However, to avoid paying royalties, WWE has edited out Steamboat's entrances with the track or overdubbed them with a homegrown theme from his 1991 run in the WWF.
Sirius segues into Eye in the Sky; the former is always followed by the latter on airplay, though not always in live performances -- at the World Liberty Concert Sirius was played as the introduction to Breakaway (Try Anything Once) with Candy Dulfer on saxophone.
In recent years, the song has been used on the trailer for Anchorman: The Legend Continues as well as at Euro 2012 and features on the soundtrack to NBA 2K11.
Eye in the Sky is the sixth album by The Alan Parsons Project, released in 1982.
Songs on this album are in a number of different styles, from cool and funky to lyrical and heavily orchestrated. The Hipgnosis-designed sleeve was green with an image of the Eye of Horus, which was gold-foil stamped for early pressings of the LP. It is variously reported as their best-selling album, and was the last Platinum record from the band (joining I Robot and The Turn of a Friendly Card).
Vocal performers were Eric Woolfson, David Paton, Chris Rainbow, Lenny Zakatek, Elmer Gantry and Colin Blunstone.
Eye in the Sky contained the Project's biggest hit, the title track with lead vocals by Eric Woolfson. The album itself was a major success, reaching the Top 10 in numerous countries.

Alejandro Posada conducts the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra

    Non farlo notare

Se sta diventando più difficile affrontare ogni giorno,
non farlo notare, non farlo notare.
Anche se è più difficile accettare ciò che dicono,
    lascia andare, lascia andare.

  • Alan Parsons Project ★ If I Could Change Your Mind

    5:47

If I Could Change Your Mind (vocals by Lesley Duncan) from the album Eve by The Alan Parsons Project.

    Lesley Duncan Cox
    August 12, 1943 - March 12, 2010

Lesley Duncan contributed backing vocals to Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon album (1973) as well as singing lead on the song If I Could Change Your Mind on the Alan Parsons Project album Eve (1979). As well as writing and singing her own material, Duncan was a backing vocalist in the mid to late 1960s, most notably for Dusty Springfield and the The Walker Brothers.

IF I COULD CHANGE YOUR MIND

I prefer to spend my time in solitary ways
    Keeping myself to myself
Can't pretend that it's been easy since you went away
    Living with somebody else

If you should change your mind
If you should turn around and look behind
If you could see me the way I used to be
At the risk of bringing back the sorrow and despair

I would do it all again
Holding on to memories and pretending not to care
Knowing that the show was soon to end
If only I could change your mind

    If only you would change
If I had the chance I'd do it all again
I would do it all again

I remember windy shores on menancholy days
    Drifting along with the tide
And the joy of simple things and ordinary ways
Taking it all in my stride

If you should change your mind
If I could let you see what lies behind
If you could see need me the way it used to be

Even for the moment of the happy times we shared
Living in my dreams since then
At the risk of losing only castles in the air
Come with me and we can try again
Oh, if I could change your mind

Can't pretend it's been lonely since you went away
Oh, if I could change your mind

  • Genesis Ch.1. V.32 - Alan Parsons Project

    3:18

I Robot is the second album by progressive rock band The Alan Parsons Project, engineered by Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson in 1977. It was released by Arista Records in 1977 and re-released on CD in 1984 and 2007. I Robot is an art rock album that draws conceptually on author Isaac Asimov's science fiction Robot trilogy, exploring philosophical themes regarding artificial intelligence.
The album was intended to be based on the I, Robot stories written by Asimov, and Woolfson actually spoke with Asimov, who was enthusiastic about the idea. As the rights already had been granted to a TV/movie company, the album's title was altered slightly by removing the comma, and the theme and lyrics were made to be more generically about robots rather than specific to the Asimov universe.[3][4]
The cover inlay read: I Robot... The story of the rise of the machine and the decline of man, which paradoxically coincided with his discovery of the wheel... and a warning that his brief dominance of this planet will probably end, because man tried to create robot in his own image.
The title of the final track, Genesis Ch.1 v.32, follows this theme by implying a continuation to the story of Creation, since the first chapter of Genesis only has 31 verses. The album cover photo of the band members is of the criss-crossing escalator tubes in the circular Terminal 1 building of Charles de Gaulle airport outside Paris.

  • ALAN PARSONS - ONE NOTE SYMPHONY - FEAT. THE ISRAEL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA - LIVE FROM TEL AVIV

    6:25

2019 has been a significant year for Alan Parsons, the legendary Producer/Musician/Engineer. After 13 nominations, Parsons finally won a Grammy for his classic album Eye in the Sky: 35th Anniversary Immersive Edition. 2019 also marked the release of Parsons’ first album of new material in 15 years called The Secret. Most recently, the Alan Parsons Live Project teamed up with the world-renowned Israel Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time. The historic performance was captured on video by the producing and directing team of Trinity Houston and David Minasian.

Kicking off the performance was a song titled One Note Symphony which tells of the universal sound the Earth makes as it travels through space. Co-written by Parsons and fellow bandmates Todd Cooper and Tom Brooks, this powerful track is just one of many highlights from The Secret.

Created as a tribute to the 50 year anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing, the One Note Symphony video performance is further enhanced by stunning visuals taken from Writer/Director Bobby Bala’s upcoming sci-fi film The Shipment, along with vintage Apollo footage provided by NASA.

  • Alan Parsons Project The Fall of the House of Usher with Narration in Description

    16:07

Tracks 6-10, an instrumental suite from their debut album, “Tales of Mystery and Imagination” copyright 1976 Polygram Records.
This project was a new concept at the time, the “producer as recording artist.” At a young age, Alan Parsons had worked as an assistant engineer on the Beatle’s albums “Abbey Road” and “Let it Be”, and later as chief engineer on Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon” in 1973, for which he received a Grammy nomination. Pink Floyd regards him as an important contributor to the recording process, more a producer than simply an engineer. He was also a musician and teamed with Eric Woolfson, a composer, performer and producer for this, the first of many Alan Parsons Project albums. The album was ground-breaking for its recording techniques in an age when recording tape was state-of-the-art. This recording is from the 1987 remix and remastering of the original analog recordings converted to digital and released on CD. Written by Eric Woolfson & Alan Parsons and produced by Alan Parsons. RIP Eric Woolfson, Orson Welles & Kevin Peek. Featuring:

Alan Parsons – EMI vocoder, organ, synthesizers, guitars, keyboards, recorders & projectron
Eric Woolfson - Synthesizer, harpsichord, keyboards & background vocals

    I Prelude
Shadows of shadows passing. It is now 1831 and as always, I'm absorbed with a delicate thought. It is how poetry has indefinite sensations, to which end, music is an essential. Since the comprehension of sweet sound is our most indefinite conception. Music when combined with a pleasurable idea is poetry. Music without the idea is simply music. Without music or an intriguing idea, colour becomes pallor. man becomes coccus. Old becomes catacomb. The dead are but for a moment, motionless.

The Alan Parsons Project were a British progressive rock band, active between 1975 and 1990,[1] consisting of singer Eric Woolfson and keyboardist Alan Parsons surrounded by a varying number of session musicians and some relatively consistent band members such as guitarist Ian Bairnson.
Behind the revolving line-up and the regular sidemen, the true core of the Project was the duo of Parsons and Woolfson. Woolfson was a songwriter by profession, but also a composer and pianist. Parsons was a successful producer and accomplished engineer. Almost all songs on the band's albums are credited to Woolfson/Parsons.

Magic has always been a passion of mine, I am a member of The Magic Castle in Los Angeles. I've also worked with the Japanese magic company Tenyo, writing instruction books and catalogs for their tricks. I dabble with magic myself in my free time, so an album with magical influences was a natural progression”.
