    ????????????

For centuries, the greatest sailors in the world masterfully navigated the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, 3,000 years ago, their voyages stopped for a millennium – and no one knows exactly why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who is inspired to leave the safety and security of her island on a daring journey to save her people. Inexplicably drawn to the ocean, Moana (voice of Auliʻi Cravalho) convinces the mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson) to join her mission, and he reluctantly helps her become a wayfinder like her ancestors who sailed before her. Together, they voyage across the open ocean on an action-packed adventure, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills her quest and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”), produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), and featuring music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa‘i, “Moana” sailed into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.

  • Moulin Rouge 1926: Mistinguett & Jazz Fred Mêlé - Who?

    2:54

Mistinguett – Qui? [Who?] Fox-Trot (Jerome Kern) acc. par le Jazz Fred Mêlé du Moulin Rouge, Odeon 1926 (French)

    (b. 1875 Jeanne Florentine Bourgeois in Enghien-les-Bains near Paris – d. 1956, Bougival, France ) One of the most popular French singers & music-hall entertainers in the first decades of the 20th century. She was the daughter of a labourer and a seamstress, from her early years she was dreaming of the actor’s career which she started as a flower seller in a restaurant in her hometown, where she sung popular ballads as she sold blossoms. For the money she earned she started taking classes in theatre and singing and she began to prepare her professional career. One day on the train to Paris for her violin lesson she met the director of the revues at the Casino de Paris & Moulin Rouge. After the trial hearing, he engaged the pretty and resolute girl first as a stage hand and in 1907 as solo performer. Looking for her stage name, she first tried Miss Helyett and later Miss Tinguett (Mistinguett) which derived from a song in a musical show Miss Helyett, and was suggested by her allegedly “English-looking” protruding front teeth. Certainly, it was not her teeth but her legs which attracted attention of the most of men frequenting the casino shows, however she owed her growing popularity not only to her physical valors but her stage personality and her feeling of the “esprit Parisien”. Mistinguett became a star in 1909 when she performed on stage the first Apache Tango, partnered by the popular actor Max Dearly. Billed as “the woman with divine legs” Mistinguett became the darling of the Montmartre cabarets and later of all of Paris and one of the legends of French music-hall of the 1930s. Her greatest fame was achieved in spectacular revues at the Moulin Rouge and the Casino de Paris, where she often appeared with Maurice Chevalier, and her best-remembered songs are “Mon Homme” (“My Man”) and “J’en ai marre” (“I’ve Had Enough of It”). Her long career included appearances in London and the Americas. Mistinguett was not highly talented as a dancer, nor did she have a good voice; but she had vitality and conviction, and even in old age she was able to play young parts. She wrote Toute ma vie (1954; Mistinguett, Queen of the Paris Night).

    5:19

Suzanne Vega broke through with her eponymous debut album in 1985 in both Europe and America. The album featured the hits Marlene On The Wall and Left Of Center. She hit even greater heights with her second album Solitude Standing which contained the hits Luka and Tom's Diner. In many ways she opened the way for the rush of female singer-songwriters that followed in the late eighties and early nineties. She continues to have hit albums and to play to packed houses on both sides of the Atlantic.
This DVD captures Suzanne Vega making her second appearance at the Montreux Festival in 2004. Accompanied by a full band (her first appearance was as a duo) she plays many of her most popular tracks including 99.9ºF, Marlene On The Wall, When Heroes Go Down, Left Of Center, Solitude Standing, Blood Makes Noise, Luka and Tom's Diner.
The full DVD Live at Montreux
is available on Eagle Vision, out now.

  • Freddie Mercury and David Bowie - Under Pressure

    3:53

Under Pressure is a 1981 song recorded by Queen and David Bowie, featured on Queen's 1982 album Hot Space. The song reached No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart. It was also number 31 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the '80s.[1]

The song was played live at every Queen concert between 1982--1986.[2][3][4] It is recorded in the live albums Queen Rock Montreal and Queen at Wembley.[5][6] The song was included on Queen's first Greatest Hits compilations, such as the original 1981 Elektra release in the US. It is included on the band's compilation albums Greatest Hits II, Classic Queen, and Absolute Greatest[7] as well as the compilation Best of Bowie.
Queen had been working on the song under the title Feel Like but were not yet satisfied with the result.[9][10] David Bowie had originally come to Mountain Studios in order to sing backing vocals on another Queen song, Cool Cat, which would end up being edited out since he was not satisfied with it. Once he got there, they worked together for a while and wrote the song.[11] The final version that became Under Pressure evolved from a jam session the band had with Bowie at his studio in Montreux, Switzerland; therefore it was credited as co-written by the five musicians. The scat singing that dominates much of the song is evidence of the jam-beginnings as improvisation. According to Queen bassist John Deacon (as quoted in a French magazine in 1984), however, the song's primary musical songwriter was Freddie Mercury — though all contributed to the arrangement. Brian May recalled to Mojo magazine in October 2008 that It was hard, because you had four very precocious boys and David, who was precocious enough for all of us. David took over the song lyrically. Looking back, it's a great song but it should have been mixed differently. Freddie and David had a fierce battle over that. It's a significant song because of David and its lyrical content.[12] The earlier, embryonic version of the song without Bowie, Feel Like, is widely available in bootleg form, and was written by Queen drummer Roger Taylor.

There has been some confusion about who created the song's bassline. John Deacon said (in Japanese magazine Musiclife in 1982, and in the previously mentioned French magazine) that David Bowie had created it. In more recent interviews, Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor have credited the bass riff to Deacon. Bowie, on his website, said that the bassline was already written before he became involved.[13] Roger Taylor, in an interview for the BBC documentary Queen: the Days of Our Lives, stated that Deacon had indeed created the bassline, stating that all through the sessions in the studio he had been playing the riff over and over; he also claims that when the band returned from dinner Deacon had, amusingly, forgotten the riff, but fortunately Taylor was still able to remember it.[14] It would later be sampled by Vanilla Ice in his 1990 single Ice Ice Baby. Queen and Bowie did not receive songwriting credit or royalties until after the single had become a hit.[15][16]

    Parole :
    Oh ma douce souffrance,
    Pourquoi s'acharner tu r'commence

He has cracked down on prostitution and negotiated with terrorist bombers to save children. He is an outsider who has worked his way in. Some think hes Napoleon, others say hes Brutus. Were just trying to get a handle on him. Here are 7 things everyone should know about Frances President Sarkozy, the son of a Hungarian immigrant, did most of his growing up in Neuilly-sur-Seine, a wealthy community immediately to the west of Paris. His family was not as affluent as those of most of his classmates, a fact he claims was humiliating and largely shaped who he is today. Sarkozy didnt have to wait long to get the last laugh, though. He earned a law degree, which he financed by peddling ice cream and flowers, and quickly jumped into the political arena. At just 22 years old he became a member of Neuillys city council, and in 1983 he became the citys mayor, a position he held until 2002 While serving as Neuillys mayor Sarkozy also made major inroads as a national figure as well, and many Frenchmen thought of Sarkozy as a sort of protégé of Chirac. In 1993 a deranged kidnapper took a group of children hostage at a Neuilly kindergarten, and Sarkozy negotiated for their safe release with the suspect, who called himself The Human Bomb. (The children all escaped unharmed when police killed the kidnapper.) Following this incident, Sarkozy became budget minister under Prime Minister Edouard Balladur In 1995, Balladur ran for the presidency against Chirac. Sarkozy made the surprising decision to turn his back on his mentor Chirac and supported Balladurs candidacy.
