Bohemian Rhapsody Grabs 5 Oscar Nominations Including Best Picture and Best Actor for Rami Malek

    2:03

Bohemian Rhapsody Grabs 5 Oscar Nominations Including Best Picture and Best Actor for Rami Malek
The film, that should pass the $800 million mark (worldwide) before the weekend, received high praise from the academy this morning with five nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor for Rami Malek (who portrayed the great Freddie Mercury), also Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Film Editing.

For Best Picture it will compete against Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, The Favourite, Green Book, Roma, A Star Is Born and Vice. As for Malik his competition includes Christian Bale in Vice, Bradley Cooper from A Star Is Born, Willem Dafoe in At Eternity's Gate and Viggo Mortensen in Green Book.

Bohemian Rhapsody was a hit at the box office but some fans had problems with things like the song sequence in the film and facts about characters but overall it hit the mark especially with Malek. It received a %62 approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. It also won a Golden Globe for Drama Motion Picture and Malik won for Actor in a Drama Motion Picture.

Sacha Baron Cohen was originally set to play Mercury before he left over creative differences then Director Bryan Singer was gone two weeks before filming was finished only to have Dexter Fletcher finish the film. Bohemian Rhapsody also has the title of the biggest Music Biopic Of all-time at the Box Office.

Overall “The Favourite” and “Roma” tied for the most nominations this year with 10.

The 91st Academy Awards will be presented on Feb. 24 from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. - by John Beaudin

Can Bohemian Rhapsody Movie & Rami Malek Win Oscar For Best Film & Actor? Freddie Mercury Biopic

    4:55

Can Bohemian Rhapsody Movie & Rami Malek Win Oscar For Best Film & Actor? Freddie Mercury Biopic

Will Bohemian Rhapsody Movie and Rami Malek be successful at the 2019 Oscars.
After the surprise and some say upset at their success at the Golden Globes its the big question.

It’s biggest rival is A Star Is Born staring Bradley Cooper and Lady Ga Ga which is actually a remake of the Barbara Strieland and Kris Kristofferson Movie which is a remake of the 1937 movie of the same name.

Many peoples objection to Bohemian Rhapsody is its decision to use troubled director Bryan Singer who faces a string of allegations in his personal life.

its a shame Gwilym Lee who plays Brian May and Joe Mazzello who plays John Deacon have been overlooked for their brilliant portrayal of Queen band members

The oscars however have a pattern of choosing historical figures portrayed in movies as winners
    Who knows anything could happen

Candle on the Water Disneys Petes Dragon - Slow piano tutorial with words and music

    5:03

A piano roll video tutorial of my own piano arrangement of the song Candle on the Water - from Walt Disney's 1977 movie Pete's Dragon. This arrangement is a great way to practice your left-hand arpeggios.

The song Candle on the Water received an Academy Award nomination, which was won that year by another song from the same movie - You Light Up My Life.

I have made this video to help you learn the tune in an interesting and fun way. You can learn, sing and play along with this video. The video has everything you need to learn this song; music, score, lyrics, note-names, and a colorful piano roll that helps you know which notes to play and when to play them.

Mad Max: Fury Road Orchestral Medley - DPops

    10:38

Mad Max: Fury Road by Junkie XL
    Arranged by John Baxter, BK'17
    Conducted by Harry Kane, BR'18
Performed at 'DPops Catches 'Em All' in Battell Chapel on December 16, 2016

    ––––––––––––

A film nominated for 10 academy awards (winning 6 of them), Mad Max: Fury Road is an action film about apocalyptic wastelands, corrupted humanity, and flaming guitars. The composer for the film was Tom Holkenberg (AKA Junkie XL). The score features epic strings, epic guitars and epic drums, and epic everything else. Mad Max was ranked by both Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes as being the best scored film of 2015. I hope this arrangement can convince you of that.

    🌟Fun fact:
La La Land is a 2016 American musical romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as a musician and an aspiring actress who meet and fall in love in Los Angeles. The film's title refers both to the city of Los Angeles and to the idiom for being out of touch with reality.

Chazelle wrote the screenplay in 2010, but he did not find a studio willing to finance the production without changes to his design. Following the success of his 2014 film Whiplash, the project was picked up by Summit Entertainment. La La Land premiered at the Venice Film Festival on August 31, 2016, and was released in the United States on December 9, 2016. It has grossed $340 million worldwide on a production budget of $30 million.

La La Land received critical acclaim upon its release, and was regarded as one of the best films of 2016. Critics praised Chazelle's screenplay and direction, Gosling and Stone's performances, Justin Hurwitz's score, and the film's musical numbers. At the 89th Academy Awards, the film received a record-tying 14 nominations (equalling 1997's Titanic and 1950's All About Eve), including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Gosling), Best Actress (Stone), and two nominations for Best Original Song (Audition and City of Stars). In this EASY PIANO TUTORIAL you can learn HOW TO PLAY Up Theme Song - Married Life on Piano! :)

    🌟Fun fact:
In 1940, Carl Fredricksen is a young 9-year-old boy who idolizes famous explorer Charles Muntz. Muntz has been accused of fabricating the skeleton of a giant exotic bird he says he discovered at Paradise Falls and vows to return there to catch one alive. One day, Carl befriends a girl named Ellie, who is also a fan of Muntz. She confides to Carl her desire to move her clubhouse—an abandoned house in the neighborhood—to a cliff overlooking Paradise Falls. Carl and Ellie eventually get married and live together in the restored house. Carl sells toy balloons from a cart at a zoo Ellie works at. After suffering a miscarriage and being told they cannot have a child, the two decide to realize their dream of visiting Paradise Falls. They try to save for the trip, but repeatedly end up spending the money on more pressing needs. Finally, an elderly Carl arranges for the trip, but Ellie suddenly becomes ill and dies.

Up was released on May 29, 2009, and opened the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, becoming the first animated and 3D film to do so. The film became a great financial success, accumulating over $735 million in its theatrical release. Up received universal acclaim, with most reviewers commending the humor and heart of the film. Edward Asner was praised for his portrayal of Carl, and a montage of Carl and his wife Ellie aging together was widely lauded. The film received five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, making it the second animated film in history to receive such a nomination, following Beauty and the Beast (1991).

The franchise began in 1977 with the release of the film Star Wars (subtitled Episode IV: A New Hope in 1981), which became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon. It was followed by the similarly successful sequels The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983); these three films constitute the original Star Wars trilogy. A prequel trilogy was later released between 1999 and 2005, which received a more mixed reaction from critics and fans in comparison to the original trilogy. More recently, a sequel trilogy began with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015). All seven films were nominated for Academy Awards (with wins going to the first two films) and have all been commercial successes with a combined box office revenue of $7.075 billion, making Star Wars the third highest-grossing film series. Additional theatrical films outside of the main saga include Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008), an animated film, and Rogue One (2016), which is the first in a series of anthology films.

The series has spawned an extensive media franchise—the Star Wars expanded universe—including books, television series, computer and video games, and comic books, resulting in significant development of the series's fictional universe. Star Wars also holds a Guinness World Records title for the Most successful film merchandising franchise. In 2015, the total value of the Star Wars franchise was estimated at USD $41.9 billion, including box-office receipts as well as profits from their video games and DVD sales.

In 2012, The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm for $4.06 billion and earned the distribution rights to all subsequent Star Wars films, beginning with the release of The Force Awakens in 2015. The former distributor, 20th Century Fox, retains the physical distribution rights to the first two Star Wars trilogies, owning permanent rights for the original 1977 film and holding the rights to Episodes I–III, V and VI until May 2020. Walt Disney Studios owns digital distribution rights to all the Star Wars films, excluding A New Hope.

    ▶ Learn this arrangement:

The Pink Panther Theme is an instrumental composition by Henry Mancini written as the theme for the 1963 film The Pink Panther and subsequently nominated for the 1964 Academy Award for Best Original Score. The eponymous cartoon character created for the film's opening credits by David DePatie and Friz Freleng was animated in time to the tune. The tenor saxophone solo was played by Plas Johnson.

The tune was included on the film's soundtrack album and issued as a single (in the United States) in 1964; the single reached the Top 10 on the U.S. Billboard adult contemporary chart and won three Grammy Awards.

Various recordings of the tune were featured in the opening credits of all The Pink Panther films, with the exception of A Shot in the Dark and Inspector Clouseau. It has also been used in countless works featuring the animated Pink Panther character.

The Pink Panther Theme, originally played in the key of E minor, is noted for its quirky, unusual use of chromaticism which is derived from the Hungarian minor scale (gypsy/romani scale[1]) with raised 4th and 7th degrees.

PURE IMAGINATION Theme | Piano Tutorial

    3:03

    Music from the movieWilly Wonka(1971).

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is a 1971 American musical fantasy family film directed by Mel Stuart, and starring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. It is an adaptation of the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl. Dahl was credited with writing the film's screenplay; however, David Seltzer, who went uncredited in the film, was brought in to re-work the screenplay against Dahl's wishes, making major changes to the ending and adding musical numbers. These changes and other decisions made by the director led Dahl to disown the film.[4][5]

The film tells the story of an only child Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum) with no aunts, uncles, cousins or sibings, who receives a Golden Ticket and visits Willy Wonka's chocolate factory with four other children from around the world. Filming took place in Munich in 1970, and the film was released by Paramount Pictures on June 30, 1971. With a budget of just $3 million, the film received generally positive reviews and earned $4 million by the end of its original run. The film became highly popular in part through repeated television airings and home entertainment sales.[6] In 1972, the film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score, and Wilder was nominated for a Golden Globe as Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy, but both nominations lost to Fiddler on the Roof. The film also introduced the song The Candy Man, which went on to become a popular hit when recorded by Sammy Davis Jr. In 2014, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.

This is my instrumental acoustic guitar minus one (vocals) cover of James Ingram's massive 1994 hit single Just Once

Info about James Ingram from his wiki page:

James Edward Ingram (born February 16, 1952)[1] is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and instrumentalist. He is a two-time Grammy Award-winner and a two-time Academy Award nominee for Best Original Song. Since beginning his career in 1973, Ingram has charted eight Top 40 hits on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart from the early 1980s until the early 1990s, as well as thirteen top 40 hits on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. In addition, he charted 20 hits on the Adult Contemporary chart (including two number-ones). He had two number-one singles on the Hot 100: the first, a duet with fellow R&B artist Patti Austin, 1982's Baby, Come to Me topped the U.S. pop chart in 1983; I Don't Have the Heart, which became his second number-one in 1990 was his only number-one as a solo artist. In between these hits he also recorded the song Somewhere Out There with fellow recording artist Linda Ronstadt for the animated film An American Tail. The song and the music video both became gigantic hits. Ingram co-wrote The Day I Fall in Love, from the motion picture Beethoven's 2nd (1993), and singer Patty Smyth's Look What Love Has Done, from the motion picture Junior (1994), which earned him nominations for Best Original Song from the Oscars, Golden Globe, and Grammy Awards in 1994 and 1995.

    Early life[edit]
Born in Akron, Ohio, Ingram lived with his mother and father until he was 10 years old, then moved in with his grandmother. He later moved to Los Angeles and played with the band Revelation Funk, which made an appearance in the Rudy Ray Moore film Dolemite. He also later played keyboards for Ray Charles before becoming famous. Meanwhile, his younger brother, Phillip Ingram, became prominent as a member of the Motown group, Switch.

    Career[edit]
In 1981, Ingram provided the vocals to Just Once and One Hundred Ways on Quincy Jones's album The Dude, which earned him triple Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist. One Hundred Ways won him the Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for his work. On December 11, 1981, Ingram appeared as a guest on the Canadian comedy series SCTV (aired on NBC), singing Just Once.[2] Ingram's debut album, It's Your Night, appeared in 1983, including the ballad There's No Easy Way. He also worked with other notable artists such as Donna Summer, Ray Charles, Anita Baker, Viktor Lazlo, Nancy Wilson, Natalie Cole, and Kenny Rogers. In October 1990, he scored a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with the love ballad I Don't Have the Heart,[3] from his It's Real album.

In 1984, Ingram received three Grammy nominations: How Do You Keep the Music Playing? (his second duet with recording artist Patti Austin), for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals; the US Top 10 single, P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing) for Michael Jackson which he and Quincy Jones co-wrote, for Best R&B Song; and the track Party Animal for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. In early 1985, he was again triple nominated, for his debut album for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance, and its single, Yah Mo B There (a duet with fellow R&B musician Michael McDonald), for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group, winning the latter.

    Lyrics:
    Hakuna Matata!
    What a wonderful phrase
    Hakuna Matata!
    Ain't no passing craze

    It means no worries
For the rest of your days
    It's our problem-free philosophy
    Hakuna Matata!

Why, when he was a young warthog
    When I was a young wart-hoooog!
    Very nice!
    Thanks!
He found his aroma lacked a certain appeal
He could clear the Savannah after every meal
    I'm a sensitive soul, though I seem thick-skinned
And it hurt that my friends never stood downwind
    And oh, the shame
    (He was ashamed!)
    Thought of changin' my name
    (Oh, what's in a name?)
    And I got downhearted
    (How did you feel?)
    Every time that I-
Pumbaa! Not in front of the kids!
    Oh... sorry

    Hakuna Matata!
    What a wonderful phrase
    Hakuna Matata!
    Ain't no passing craze
    It means no worries
For the rest of your days
    Yeah, sing it, kid!
    It's our problem-free philosophy
    Hakuna Matata!

    Hakuna Matata
    Hakuna Matata
    Hakuna Matata
    Hakuna

    It means no worries
For the rest of your days
    It's our problem-free philosophy
